Mateo 6

Affinchè il tuo digiuno sia noto non agli uomini, ma al tuo Padre celeste, il quale sta nel segreto: e il Padre tuo, il quale vede in segreto, te ne darà la ricompensa.

Para no parecer á los hombres que ayunas, sino á tu Padre que está en secreto: y tu Padre que ve en secreto, te recompensará en público.

That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
