Mateo 5

Cuando Jesús vio las multitudes, Él subió al monte; cuando Él se sentó, Sus discípulos vinieron a Él.

Y VIENDO las gentes, subió al monte; y sentándose, se llegaron á él sus discípulos.

And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

Él abrió Su boca y Les enseñó; El dijo,

"Bienaventurados los pobres en espíritu, porque de ellos es el reino de los cielos.

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Bienaventurados son aquellos hambrientos y sedientos por justicia, porque ellos serán llenados.

Bienaventurados los que tienen hambre y sed de justicia: porque ellos serán hartos.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Bienaventurados son los misericordiosos, porque ellos obtendrán misericordia.

Bienaventurados son aquellos que han sido perseguidos por causa de la justicia, porque de ellos es el reino de los cielos.

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Bienaventurados son ustedes cuando la gente los insulte y los persiga, o falsamente diga toda clase de cosas malas en su contra por Mi causa.

Bienaventurados sois cuando os vituperaren y os persiguieren, y dijeren de vosotros todo mal por mi causa, mintiendo.

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

“Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Regocíjense y alégrense mucho, porque grande es su recompensa en el cielo. Porque así la gente persiguió a los profetas que vivieron antes de ustedes.

Gozaos y alegraos; porque vuestra merced es grande en los cielos: que así persiguieron á los profetas que fueron antes de vosotros.

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Ustedes son la sal de la tierra; pero si la sal pierde su sabor, ¿como podrá hacerse salada de nuevo? Nunca más es buena para nada, excepto para ser tirada y pisoteada bajo los pies de la gente.

Vosotros sois la sal de la tierra: y si la sal se desvaneciere ¿con qué será salada? no vale más para nada, sino para ser echada fuera y hollada de los hombres.

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

“You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men.

Ustedes son la luz del mundo. Una ciudad situada en un monte no se puede ocultar.

Vosotros sois la luz del mundo: una ciudad asentada sobre un monte no se puede esconder.

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

“You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden.

Tampoco la gente enciende una lámpara y la coloca debajo de una canasta, sino en un candelero, y brilla a todos en la casa.

Ni se enciende una lámpara y se pone debajo de un almud, mas sobre el candelero, y alumbra á todos los que están en casa.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Neither do you light a lamp and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house.

Dejen que su luz brille delante de la gente de tal manera que vean sus buenas obras y alaben a su Padre que está en el cielo.

Así alumbre vuestra luz delante de los hombres, para que vean vuestras obras buenas, y glorifiquen á vuestro Padre que está en los cielos.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

No piensen que Yo he venido a destruir a la ley o a los profetas; no he venido para destruirlos, sino para cumplir.

No penséis que he venido para abrogar la ley ó los profetas: no he venido para abrogar, sino á cumplir.

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

“Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill.

Porque verdaderamente les digo que hasta que el cielo y la tierra pasen, ni una jota o un ápice en ninguna manera pasarán de la ley, hasta que todas las cosas se hayan consumado.

Porque de cierto os digo, que hasta que perezca el cielo y la tierra, ni una jota ni un tilde perecerá de la ley, hasta que todas las cosas sean hechas.

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

For most certainly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not even one smallest letter or one tiny pen stroke shall in any way pass away from the law, until all things are accomplished.

Por lo tanto cualquiera que rompa el más pequeño de estos mandamientos y enseñe a otros a hacerlo, será llamado menos importante en el reino de los cielo. Pero cualquiera que los guarde y los enseñe será llamado grande en el reino de los cielos.

De manera que cualquiera que infringiere uno de estos mandamientos muy pequeños, y así enseñare á los hombres, muy pequeño será llamado en el reino de los cielos: mas cualquiera que hiciere y enseñare, éste será llamado grande en el reino de los cielos.

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Therefore, whoever shall break one of these least commandments and teach others to do so, shall be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven; but whoever shall do and teach them shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Porque Yo les digo que a menos que su justicia exceda la justicia de los escribas y Fariseos, de ninguna manera entrarán al reino de los cielos.

Porque os digo, que si vuestra justicia no fuere mayor que la de los escribas y de los Fariseos, no entraréis en el reino de los cielos.

For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, there is no way you will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Ustedes han escuchado que se les dijo en tiempos antiguos: 'NO MATARÁS', y 'Cualquiera que mate estará en peligro del juicio.'

Oísteis que fué dicho á los antiguos: No matarás; mas cualquiera que matare, será culpado del juicio.

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

“You have heard that it was said to the ancient ones, ‘You shall not murder;’ and ‘Whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’

Pero Yo les digo que todo el que esté enojado con su hermano estará en peligro del juicio; y cualquiera que le diga a su hermano: '¡Tú eres una persona que no vale nada!' estará en peligro del concilio; y cualquiera que diga: '¡Tú tonto!', estará en peligro del fuego del infierno.

Mas yo os digo, que cualquiera que se enojare locamente con su hermano, será culpado del juicio; y cualquiera que dijere á su hermano, Raca, será culpado del concejo; y cualquiera que dijere, Fatuo, será culpado del infierno del fuego.

But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

But I tell you that everyone who is angry with his brother without a cause will be in danger of the judgment. Whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ will be in danger of the council. Whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of Gehenna.

Por lo tanto si estás ofreciendo tu regalo en el altar y allí recuerdas que tu hermano tiene algo contra ti,

Por tanto, si trajeres tu presente al altar, y allí te acordares de que tu hermano tiene algo contra ti,

Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

“If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you,

deja tu regalo allí en frente del altar, y ve por tu camino. Primero reconcíliate con tu hermano, y entonces ven y ofrece tu regalo.

Deja allí tu presente delante del altar, y vete, vuelve primero en amistad con tu hermano, y entonces ven y ofrece tu presente.

Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

Ponte de acuerdo con tu acusador rápidamente mientras vas con él de camino a la corte, o tu acusador tal vez te entregue al juez, y el juez tal vez te entregue al oficial, y tú tal vez seas arrojado a la prisión.

Concíliate con tu adversario presto, entre tanto que estás con él en el camino; porque no acontezca que el adversario te entregue al juez, y el juez te entregue al alguacil, y seas echado en prisión.

Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

Agree with your adversary quickly while you are with him on the way; lest perhaps the prosecutor deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison.

Verdaderamente les digo, nunca saldrás de allí hasta que hayas pagado la última parte del dinero que debes.

De cierto te digo, que no saldrás de allí, hasta que pagues el último cuadrante.

Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

Most certainly I tell you, you shall by no means get out of there until you have paid the last penny.

Ustedes han escuchado que fue dicho: 'NO COMETERÁS ADULTERIO.'

Oísteis que fué dicho: No adulterarás:

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery;’

Pero Yo le digo a todo aquel que mira a una mujer para desearla ya ha cometido adulterio con ella en su corazón.

Mas yo os digo, que cualquiera que mira á una mujer para codiciarla, ya adulteró con ella en su corazón.

But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Y si tu ojo derecho te causa tropezar, arráncatelo y échalo lejos de ti; porque es mejor para ti que una parte de tu cuerpo perezca, a que todo tu cuerpo sea echado al infierno.

Por tanto, si tu ojo derecho te fuere ocasión de caer, sácalo, y échalo de ti: que mejor te es que se pierda uno de tus miembros, que no que todo tu cuerpo sea echado al infierno.

And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna.

Y si tu mano derecha te causa tropezar, córtala y échala lejos de ti; porque es mejor para ti que una parte de tu cuerpo perezca, a que todo tu cuerpo vaya al infierno.

Y si tu mano derecha te fuere ocasión de caer, córtala, y échala de ti: que mejor te es que se pierda uno de tus miembros, que no que todo tu cuerpo sea echado al infierno.

And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

If your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off, and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna.

También fue dicho: 'CUALQUIERA QUE ENVÍE LEJOS A SU ESPOSA, DEJE QUE ÉL LE ENTREGUE A ELLA UN CERTIFICADO DE DIVORCIO.'

También fué dicho: Cualquiera que repudiare á su mujer, déle carta de divorcio:

It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:

“It was also said, ‘Whoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorce,’

Pero Yo les digo que todo aquel que se divorcie de su esposa, excepto por causa de inmoralidad sexual, la hace a ella una adúltera; y cualquiera que se case con ella después que esta se ha divorciado comete adulterio.

Mas yo os digo, que el que repudiare á su mujer, fuera de causa de fornicación, hace que ella adultere; y el que se casare con la repudiada, comete adulterio.

But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

but I tell you that whoever puts away his wife, except for the cause of sexual immorality, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries her when she is put away commits adultery.

Otra vez, han oído que les fue dicho en tiempos antiguos: 'NO HAGAS JURAMENTO FALSO, PERO CUMPLE TUS JURAMENTOS AL SEÑOR.'

Además habéis oído que fué dicho á los antiguos: No te perjurarás; mas pagarás al Señor tus juramentos.

Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:

“Again you have heard that it was said to the ancient ones, ‘You shall not make false vows, but shall perform to the Lord your vows,’

Pero te digo a ti, no jures por nada; ni por el cielo, porque es el trono de Dios;

Mas yo os digo: No juréis en ninguna manera: ni por el cielo, porque es el trono de Dios;

But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne:

but I tell you, don’t swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God;

ni por la tierra, porque es el banquillo de Sus pies; ni por Jerusalén, porque es LA CUIDAD DEL GRAN REY.

Ni por la tierra, porque es el estrado de sus pies; ni por Jerusalem, porque es la ciudad del gran Rey.

Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.

nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.

Tampoco jures por tu cabeza, por que no puedes hacer un pelo blanco o negro.

Ni por tu cabeza jurarás, porque no puedes hacer un cabello blanco ó negro.

Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.

Neither shall you swear by your head, for you can’t make one hair white or black.

Pero deja que tu hablar sea, 'Sí, sí,' o 'No, no.' Todo lo que es más que esto viene del maligno.

Mas sea vuestro hablar: Sí, sí; No, no; porque lo que es más de esto, de mal procede.

But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’ be ‘No.’ Whatever is more than these is of the evil one.

Has oído decir: 'UN OJO POR UN OJO, Y UN DIENTE POR UN DIENTE.'

Oísteis que fué dicho á los antiguos: Ojo por ojo, y diente por diente.

Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’

Pero te digo, no resistas al que es malo; en su lugar, cualquiera que te golpea en tu mejilla derecha, también vuélvele la otra.

Mas yo os digo: No resistáis al mal; antes á cualquiera que te hiriere en tu mejilla diestra, vuélvele también la otra;

But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

But I tell you, don’t resist him who is evil; but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Y si alguien desea ir a la corte contigo y te quita el abrigo, deja que esa persona se lleve también tu capa.

Y al que quisiere ponerte á pleito y tomarte tu ropa, déjale también la capa;

And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.

If anyone sues you to take away your coat, let him have your cloak also.

Y el que te obliga a ir un kilometro, ve con él dos.

Y á cualquiera que te cargare por una milla, ve con él dos.

And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

Whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.

Da a todo aquel que te pide, y no le des la espalda al que desea pedirte prestado.

Al que te pidiere, dale; y al que quisiere tomar de ti prestado, no se lo rehuses.

Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

Give to him who asks you, and don’t turn away him who desires to borrow from you.

Han oído que fue dicho: 'AMARÁS A TU VECINO Y ODIARÁS A TU ENEMIGO.'

Oísteis que fué dicho: Amarás á tu prójimo, y aborrecerás á tu enemigo.

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’

Pero les digo, amen a sus enemigos y oren por aquellos que los persiguen,

Mas yo os digo: Amad á vuestros enemigos, bendecid á los que os maldicen, haced bien á los que os aborrecen, y orad por los que os ultrajan y os persiguen;

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,

para que puedan ser hijos del Padre que está en los cielos. Porque Él hace salir el sol sobre los malos y los buenos, y manda la lluvia sobre los justos y los injustos.

Para que seáis hijos de vuestro Padre que está en los cielos: que hace que su sol salga sobre malos y buenos, y llueve sobre justos é injustos.

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.

Si aman a los que los aman, ¿qué recompensa recibirán? ¿No hacen así mismo los cobradores de impuestos?

Porque si amareis á los que os aman, ¿qué recompensa tendréis? ¿no hacen también lo mismo los publicanos?

For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same?

Y si solo saludan a sus hermanos, ¿qué hacen más que los otros? ¿No así mismo hacen los Gentiles?

Y si abrazareis á vuestros hermanos solamente, ¿qué hacéis de más? ¿no hacen también así los Gentiles?

And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

If you only greet your friends, what more do you do than others? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same?

Por tanto sean perfectos, así como su Padre celestial es perfecto.

Sed, pues, vosotros perfectos, como vuestro Padre que está en los cielos es perfecto.

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
