1Darauf ward Jesus in die Einsamkeit geführt, um vom Teufel versucht zu werden.
2Er hatte vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte lang gefastet, und nun hungerte ihn.
3Da trat der Versucher an ihn heran und sprach: "Wenn du der Sohn Gottes bist, so sprich, daß diese Steine hier Brot werden."
4Doch er gab ihm zur Antwort: "Es steht geschrieben: 'Der Mensch lebt nicht vom Brot allein, sondern von jedem Worte, das aus dem Munde Gottes kommt'".
5Darauf entführte ihn der Teufel in die heilige Stadt und stellte ihn auf die Zinne des Tempels
6und sprach zu ihm: "Wenn du der Sohn Gottes bist, so stürze dich hinab. Denn also steht geschrieben: 'Seinen Engeln hat er deinethalben befohlen, und sie werden dich auf den Händen tragen, damit du nicht etwa deinen Fuß an einen Stein anstoßest.'"
7Doch Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Es steht nochmals geschrieben: 'Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, nicht versuchen'".
8Nun entführte ihn der Teufel auf einen sehr hohen Berg, zeigte ihm alle Reiche der Welt und deren Herrlichkeit
9und sprach zu ihm: "All dies will ich dir geben, wenn du niederfällst und mich anbetest."
10Jetzt aber rief ihm Jesus zu: "Hinweg, Satan! Es steht geschrieben: 'Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, anbeten und ihm allein dienen'".
11Nun verließ ihn der Teufel, und siehe, Engel traten herzu und dienten ihm.
12Als Jesus hörte, Johannes sei gefangengenommen, begab er sich nach Galiläa zurück.
13Er verließ jedoch Nazareth und ließ sich in Kapharnaum, das am Meer liegt, nieder, im Grenzgebiet von Zabulon und Nephtalim.
14So sollte sich erfüllen, was der Prophet Isaias gesprochen, wenn er sagt:
15"Land Zabulon und Land Nephtalim, du Weg am Meer, jenseits des Jordans, Galiläa, Land der Heiden.
16Das Volk, das im Finstern sitzt, sah ein großes Licht, und denen, die im Schattenland des Todes weilen, erschien ein Licht".
17Und jetzt fing Jesus an zu predigen. "Bekehret euch", rief er, "das Himmelreich ist nahe."
18Einst wanderte er am Meere von Galiläa entlang, als er zwei Brüder sah: den Simon, der auch Petrus heißt, und Andreas, dessen Bruder. Sie warfen eben ein Netz ins Meer: sie waren nämlich Fischer.
19Er sprach zu ihnen: "Kommt! Folget mir! ich werde euch zu Menschenfischern machen."
20Sofort ließen sie ihre Netze liegen und folgten ihm.
21Als er von da weiterging, sah er zwei andere Brüder, den Jakobus, den Sohn des Zebedäus, und Johannes, dessen Bruder. Sie legten in ihrem Boote gerade ihre Netze zurecht mit ihrem Vater Zebedäus. Und er berief sie.
22Auf der Stelle verließen sie das Boot und ihren Vater und folgten ihm.
23Jesus zog durch ganz Galiläa hin. Er predigte in ihren Synagogen, verkündete die frohe Botschaft vom Reich und heilte alle Krankheiten und Plagen im Volke.
24Sein Ruf drang durch ganz Syrien hin; man brachte zu ihm alle, die an mancherlei Gebrechen litten und mit Krankheiten schwer belastet waren, besonders auch Besessene, Mondsüchtige, Gelähmte, und er heilte sie.
25Große Scharen folgten ihm aus Galiläa, der Dekapolis, Jerusalem, Judäa und aus der Gegend jenseits des Jordans.

1ENTONCES Jesús fué llevado del Espíritu al desierto, para ser tentado del diablo.
2Y habiendo ayunado cuarenta días y cuarenta noches, después tuvo hambre.
3Y llegándose á él el tentador, dijo: Si eres Hijo de Dios, di que estas piedras se hagan pan.
4Mas él respondiendo, dijo: Escrito está: No con solo el pan vivirá el hombre, mas con toda palabra que sale de la boca de Dios.
5Entonces el diablo le pasa á la santa ciudad, y le pone sobre las almenas del templo,
6Y le dice: Si eres Hijo de Dios, échate abajo; que escrito está: A sus ángeles mandará por ti, y te alzarán en las manos, para que nunca tropieces con tu pie en piedra.
7Jesús le dijo: Escrito está además: No tentarás al Señor tu Dios.
8Otra vez le pasa el diablo á un monte muy alto, y le muestra todos los reinos del mundo, y su gloria,
9Y dícele: Todo esto te daré, si postrado me adorares.
10Entonces Jesús le dice: Vete, Satanás, que escrito está: Al Señor tu Dios adorarás y á él solo servirás.
11El diablo entonces le dejó: y he aquí los ángeles llegaron y le servían.
12Mas oyendo Jesús que Juan era preso, se volvió á Galilea;
13Y dejando á Nazaret, vino y habitó en Capernaum, ciudad marítima, en los confines de Zabulón y de Nephtalim:
14Para que se cumpliese lo que fué dicho por el profeta Isaías, que dijo:
15La tierra de Zabulón, y la tierra de Nephtalim, camino de la mar, de la otra parte del Jordán, Galilea de los Gentiles;
16El pueblo asentado en tinieblas, vió gran luz; y á los sentados en región y sombra de muerte, luz les esclareció.
17Desde entonces comenzó Jesús á predicar, y á decir: Arrepentíos, que el reino de los cielos se ha acercado.
18Y andando Jesús junto á la mar de Galilea, vió á dos hermanos, Simón, que es llamado Pedro, y Andrés su hermano, que echaban la red en la mar; porque eran pescadores.
19Y díceles: Venid en pos de mí, y os haré pescadores de hombres.
20Ellos entonces, dejando luego las redes, le siguieron.
21Y pasando de allí vió otros dos hermanos, Jacobo, hijo de Zebedeo, y Juan su hermano, en el barco con Zebedeo, su padre, que remendaban sus redes; y los llamó.
22Y ellos, dejando luego el barco y á su padre, le siguieron.
23Y rodeó Jesús toda Galilea, enseñando en las sinagogas de ellos, y predicando el evangelio del reino, y sanando toda enfermedad y toda dolencia en el pueblo.
24Y corría su fama por toda la Siria; y le trajeron todos los que tenían mal: los tomados de diversas enfermedades y tormentos, y los endemoniados, y lunáticos, y paralíticos, y los sanó.
25Y le siguieron muchas gentes de Galilea y de Decápolis y de Jerusalem y de Judea y de la otra parte del Jordán.

1Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
12Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;
13And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
14That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
15The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
16The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
17From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
18And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
19And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
20And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
21And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.
22And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
23And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
24And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
25And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.

1Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
2When he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was hungry afterward.
3The tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
4But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of God’s mouth.’”
5Then the devil took him into the holy city. He set him on the pinnacle of the temple,
6and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and, ‘On their hands they will bear you up, so that you don’t dash your foot against a stone.’”
7Jesus said to him, “Again, it is written, ‘You shall not test the Lord, your God.’”
8Again, the devil took him to an exceedingly high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
9He said to him, “I will give you all of these things, if you will fall down and worship me.”
10Then Jesus said to him, “Get behind me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.’”
11Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and served him.
12Now when Jesus heard that John was delivered up, he withdrew into Galilee.
13Leaving Nazareth, he came and lived in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali,
14that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
15“The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, toward the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles,
16the people who sat in darkness saw a great light; to those who sat in the region and shadow of death, to them light has dawned.”
17From that time, Jesus began to preach, and to say, “Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”
18Walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers: Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
19He said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers for men.”
20They immediately left their nets and followed him.
21Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them.
22They immediately left the boat and their father, and followed him.
23Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.
24The report about him went out into all Syria. They brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them.
25Great multitudes from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and from beyond the Jordan followed him.
