1DANN wird das Reich der Himmel zehn Jungfrauen gleich sein, die ihre Lampen nahmen und dem Bräutigam entgegengingen. (a) Off 19:7
2Fünf aber von ihnen waren töricht, und fünf waren klug.
3Die törichten nämlich nahmen ihre Lampen und nahmen kein Öl mit sich.
4Die klugen dagegen nahmen ausser ihren Lampen Öl in ihren Gefässen mit.
5Doch als der Bräutigam ausblieb, wurden sie alle schläfrig und schliefen ein.
6Mitten in der Nacht aber erscholl ein Geschrei: Siehe, der Bräutigam! Gehet hinaus, ihm entgegen!
7Da erwachten alle jene Jungfrauen und rüsteten ihre Lampen. (a) Lu 12:36
8Die törichten aber sagten zu den klugen: Gebet uns von eurem Öl, denn unsre Lampen verlöschen!
9Da antworteten die klugen: Es möchte für uns und für euch nicht reichen; gehet vielmehr zu den Krämern und kaufet euch!
10Während sie aber hingingen, um zu kaufen, kam der Bräutigam; und die, welche bereit waren, gingen mit ihm hinein zur Hochzeit, und die Türe wurde verschlossen.
11Später kamen dann auch die übrigen Jungfrauen und sagten: Herr, Herr, öffne uns! (a) Lu 13:25-28
12Er aber antwortete und sprach: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Ich kenne euch nicht. (a) Mt 7:22 23
13Darum wachet! Denn ihr wisst weder den Tag noch die Stunde. (a) Mt 24:42
14DENN es ist wie bei einem Mann, der ausser Landes reisen wollte, seine Knechte rief und ihnen sein Vermögen übergab. (a) Mt 21:33
15Und dem einen gab er fünf Talente, dem andern zwei, dem dritten eins, jedem nach seinen Kräften, und reiste ab.
16Alsbald ging der hin, der die fünf Talente empfangen hatte, handelte damit und gewann fünf andre.
17Ebenso gewann der, welcher die zwei (Talente empfangen hatte), zwei andre.
18Der aber das eine empfangen hatte, ging hin, machte eine Grube in die Erde und verbarg das Geld seines Herrn.
19Nach langer Zeit aber kommt der Herr jener Knechte und rechnet mit ihnen ab. (a) Mt 18:23
20Und der, welcher die fünf Talente empfangen hatte, trat herzu, brachte fünf andre Talente herbei und sagte: Herr, fünf Talente hast du mir übergeben; siehe, ich habe fünf andre Talente gewonnen.
21Sein Herr sprach zu ihm: Recht so, du guter und treuer Knecht, du bist über weniges treu gewesen, ich will dich über vieles setzen; geh ein zum Freudenfest deines Herrn! (a) Mt 24:45-47
22Auch der, welcher die zwei (Talente empfangen hatte), trat herzu und sagte: Herr, zwei Talente hast du mir übergeben; siehe, ich habe zwei andre Talente gewonnen.
23Sein Herr sprach zu ihm: Recht so, du guter und treuer Knecht, du bist über weniges treu gewesen, ich will dich über vieles setzen; geh ein zum Freudenfest deines Herrn!
24Aber auch der, welcher das eine Talent empfangen hatte, trat herzu und sagte: Herr, ich kannte dich, dass du ein harter Mensch bist, dass du erntest, wo du nicht gesät hast, und sammelst, wo du nicht ausgestreut hast;
25und ich fürchtete mich, ging hin und verbarg dein Talent in der Erde. Siehe, da hast du das Deine!
26Sein Herr aber antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Du böser und fauler Knecht, wusstest du, dass ich ernte, wo ich nicht gesät habe, und sammle, wo ich nicht ausgestreut habe?
27Dann hättest du mein Geld den Geldverleihern bringen sollen, und ich hätte bei meiner Rückkehr das Meinige mit Zinsen zurückerhalten.
28Darum nehmet ihm das Talent weg und gebet es dem, der die zehn Talente hat!
29Denn jedem, der hat, wird gegeben werden, und er wird Überfluss haben; dem aber, der nicht hat, wird auch das genommen werden, was er hat. (a) Mt 13:12; Mr 4:25; Lu 8:18
30Und den unnützen Knecht stosset hinaus in die Finsternis, die draussen ist! Dort wird Heulen und Zähneknirschen sein. (a) Mt 8:12
31WENN aber der Sohn des Menschen in seiner Herrlichkeit kommen wird und alle Engel mit ihm, dann wird er sich auf den Thron seiner Herrlichkeit setzen, (a) Mt 16:27; Sac 14:5; Off 20:11-13
32und vor ihm werden alle Völker versammelt werden, und er wird sie voneinander sondern, wie der Hirt die Schafe von den Böcken sondert. (1) gemeint sind nicht Schafböcke, sondern Ziegenböcke, und gedacht ist an den Gegensatz zwischen Schafen und Ziegen, die in Erez Israel zusammen geweidet und dann durch den Hirten für die Nacht getrennt werden. 34Dann wird der König denen zu seiner Rechten sagen: Kommet her, ihr Gesegneten meines Vaters, ererbet das Reich, das euch von Grundlegung der Welt an bereitet ist!
35Denn ich war hungrig, und ihr habt mir zu essen gegeben; ich war durstig, und ihr habt mich getränkt; ich war fremd, und ihr habt mich beherbergt; (a) Jes 58:7
36(ich war) nackt, und ihr habt mich bekleidet; ich war krank, und ihr habt mich besucht; ich war im Gefängnis, und ihr seid zu mir gekommen.
37Dann werden ihm die Gerechten antworten und sagen: Herr, wann sahen wir dich hungrig und haben dich gespeist? oder durstig und haben dich getränkt?
38Wann sahen wir dich als Fremden und haben dich beherbergt? oder nackt und haben dich bekleidet?
39Wann sahen wir dich krank oder im Gefängnis und sind zu dir gekommen?
40Und der König wird ihnen antworten und sagen: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wiefern ihr es einem dieser meiner geringsten Brüder getan habt, habt ihr es mir getan. (a) Mt 10:42; Spr 19:17
41Dann wird er auch sagen zu denen zur Linken: Gehet hinweg von mir, ihr Verfluchten, in das ewige Feuer, das mein Vater dem Teufel und seinen Engeln bereitet hat! (a) Mt 7:23; Off 20:10 15
42Denn ich war hungrig, und ihr habt mir nicht zu essen gegeben; ich war durstig, und ihr habt mich nicht getränkt; (a) Jak 2:15 16; 4:17
43ich war fremd, und ihr habt mich nicht beherbergt; (ich war) nackt, und ihr habt mich nicht bekleidet; (ich war) krank und im Gefängnis, und ihr habt mich nicht besucht.
44Dann werden auch sie antworten: Herr, wann sahen wir dich hungrig oder durstig oder als Fremden oder nackt oder krank oder im Gefängnis und haben dir nicht gedient?
45Dann wird er ihnen antworten: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wiefern ihr es einem dieser Geringsten nicht getan habt, habt ihr es auch mir nicht getan.
46Und diese werden in die ewige Strafe gehen, die Gerechten aber in das ewige Leben. (a) Joh 5:29; Da 12:2

1ENTONCES el reino de los cielos será semejante á diez vírgenes, que tomando sus lámparas, salieron á recibir al esposo.
2Y las cinco de ellas eran prudentes, y las cinco fatuas.
3Las que eran fatuas, tomando sus lámparas, no tomaron consigo aceite;
4Mas las prudentes tomaron aceite en sus vasos, juntamente con sus lámparas.
5Y tardándose el esposo, cabecearon todas, y se durmieron.
6Y á la media noche fué oído un clamor: He aquí, el esposo viene; salid á recibirle.
7Entonces todas aquellas vírgenes se levantaron, y aderezaron sus lámparas.
8Y las fatuas dijeron á las prudentes: Dadnos de vuestro aceite; porque nuestras lámparas se apagan.
9Mas las prudentes respondieron, diciendo: Porque no nos falte á nosotras y á vosotras, id antes á los que venden, y comprad para vosotras.
10Y mientras que ellas iban á comprar, vino el esposo; y las que estaban apercibidas, entraron con él á las bodas; y se cerró la puerta.
11Y después vinieron también las otras vírgenes, diciendo: Señor, Señor, ábrenos.
12Mas respondiendo él, dijo: De cierto os digo, que no os conozco.
13Velad, pues, porque no sabéis el día ni la hora en que el Hijo del hombre ha de venir.
14Porque el reino de los cielos es como un hombre que partiéndose lejos llamó á sus siervos, y les entregó sus bienes.
15Y á éste dió cinco talentos, y al otro dos, y al otro uno: á cada uno conforme á su facultad; y luego se partió lejos.
16Y el que había recibido cinco talentos se fué, y granjeó con ellos, é hizo otros cinco talentos.
17Asimismo el que había recibido dos, ganó también él otros dos.
18Mas el que había recibido uno, fué y cavó en la tierra, y escondió el dinero de su señor.
19Y después de mucho tiempo, vino el señor de aquellos siervos, é hizo cuentas con ellos.
20Y llegando el que había recibido cinco talentos, trajo otros cinco talentos, diciendo: Señor, cinco talentos me entregaste; he aquí otros cinco talentos he ganado sobre ellos.
21Y su señor le dijo: Bien, buen siervo y fiel; sobre poco has sido fiel, sobre mucho te pondré: entra en el gozo de tu señor.
22Y llegando también el que había recibido dos talentos, dijo: Señor, dos talentos me entregaste; he aquí otros dos talentos he ganado sobre ellos.
23Su señor le dijo: Bien, buen siervo y fiel; sobre poco has sido fiel, sobre mucho te pondré: entra en el gozo de tu señor.
24Y llegando también el que había recibido un talento, dijo: Señor, te conocía que eres hombre duro, que siegas donde no sembraste, y recoges donde no esparciste;
25Y tuve miedo, y fuí, y escondí tu talento en la tierra: he aquí tienes lo que es tuyo.
26Y respondiendo su señor, le dijo: Malo y negligente siervo, sabías que siego donde no sembré y que recojo donde no esparcí;
27Por tanto te convenía dar mi dinero á los banqueros, y viniendo yo, hubiera recibido lo que es mío con usura.
28Quitadle pues el talento, y dadlo al que tiene diez talentos.
29Porque á cualquiera que tuviere, le será dado, y tendrá más; y al que no tuviere, aun lo que tiene le será quitado.
30Y al siervo inútil echadle en las tinieblas de afuera: allí será el lloro y el crujir de dientes.
31Y cuando el Hijo del hombre venga en su gloria, y todos los santos ángeles con él, entonces se sentará sobre el trono de su gloria.
32Y serán reunidas delante de él todas las gentes: y los apartará los unos de los otros, como aparta el pastor las ovejas de los cabritos.
33Y pondrá las ovejas á su derecha, y los cabritos á la izquierda.
34Entonces el Rey dirá á los que estarán á su derecha: Venid, benditos de mi Padre, heredad el reino preparado para vosotros desde la fundación del mundo:
35Porque tuve hambre, y me disteis de comer; tuve sed, y me disteis de beber; fuí huésped, y me recogisteis;
36Desnudo, y me cubristeis; enfermo, y me visitasteis; estuve en la cárcel, y vinisteis á mí.
37Entonces los justos le responderán, diciendo: Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento, y te sustentamos? ¿ó sediento, y te dimos de beber?
38¿Y cuándo te vimos huésped, y te recogimos? ¿ó desnudo, y te cubrimos?
39¿O cuándo te vimos enfermo, ó en la cárcel, y vinimos á ti?
40Y respondiendo el Rey, les dirá: De cierto os digo que en cuanto lo hicisteis á uno de estos mis hermanos pequeñitos, á mí lo hicisteis.
41Entonces dirá también á los que estarán á la izquierda: Apartaos de mí, malditos, al fuego eterno preparado para el diablo y para sus ángeles:
42Porque tuve hambre, y no me disteis de comer; tuve sed, y no me disteis de beber;
43Fuí huésped, y no me recogisteis; desnudo, y no me cubristeis; enfermo, y en la cárcel, y no me visitasteis.
44Entonces también ellos le responderán, diciendo: Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento, ó sediento, ó huésped, ó desnudo, ó enfermo, ó en la cárcel, y no te servimos?
45Entonces les responderá, diciendo: De cierto os digo que en cuanto no lo hicisteis á uno de estos pequeñitos, ni á mí lo hicisteis.
46E irán éstos al tormento eterno, y los justos á la vida eterna.

1Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
14For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
15And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
16Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
17And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
18But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.
19After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
20And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
21His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
22He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

24Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

26His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
28Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
30And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
31When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
46And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

1“Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
2Five of them were foolish, and five were wise.
3Those who were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them,
4but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
6But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Behold! The bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!’
7Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8The foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’
9But the wise answered, saying, ‘What if there isn’t enough for us and you? You go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’
10While they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast, and the door was shut.
11Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us.’
12But he answered, ‘Most certainly I tell you, I don’t know you.’
13Watch therefore, for you don’t know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.
14“For it is like a man going into another country, who called his own servants and entrusted his goods to them.
15To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his own ability. Then he went on his journey.
16Immediately he who received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents.
17In the same way, he also who got the two gained another two.
18But he who received the one talent went away and dug in the earth and hid his lord’s money.
19“Now after a long time the lord of those servants came, and settled accounts with them.
20He who received the five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five talents in addition to them.’
21“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
22“He also who got the two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents. Behold, I have gained another two talents in addition to them.’
23“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things. I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
24“He also who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you that you are a hard man, reaping where you didn’t sow, and gathering where you didn’t scatter.
25I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have what is yours.’
26“But his lord answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant. You knew that I reap where I didn’t sow, and gather where I didn’t scatter.
27You ought therefore to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back my own with interest.
28Take away therefore the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents.
29For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away.
30Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
31“But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory.
32Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;
35for I was hungry and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took me in.
36I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came to me.’
37“Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you a drink?
38When did we see you as a stranger and take you in, or naked and clothe you?
39When did we see you sick or in prison and come to you?’
40“The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
41Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels;
