Allora sarà simile il regno de' cieli a dieci vergini, le quali avendo prese le loro lampane, andarono in contro allo sposo, e alla sposa.

ENTONCES el reino de los cielos será semejante á diez vírgenes, que tomando sus lámparas, salieron á recibir al esposo.

Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

“Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.

Ma cinque di esse erano stolte, e cinque prudenti.

Y las cinco de ellas eran prudentes, y las cinco fatuas.

And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

Five of them were foolish, and five were wise.

Or le cinque stolte, prese avendo le loro lampane, non portaron seco dell'olio:

Las que eran fatuas, tomando sus lámparas, no tomaron consigo aceite;

They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

Those who were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them,

Le prudenti poi insieme colle lampane presero dell'olio ne' vasi loro.

Mas las prudentes tomaron aceite en sus vasos, juntamente con sus lámparas.

But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

E tardando lo sposo, assonnarono tutte, e si adldormentarono.

Y tardándose el esposo, cabecearon todas, y se durmieron.

While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

E a mezzanotte levossi un grido: Ecco lo sposo viene, andategli incontro.

Y á la media noche fué oído un clamor: He aquí, el esposo viene; salid á recibirle.

And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Behold! The bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!’

Allora si alzarono tutte quelle vergini, e misero in ordine le loro lampane.

Entonces todas aquellas vírgenes se levantaron, y aderezaron sus lámparas.

Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

Ma le stolte dissero alle prudenti: Dateci del vostro olio, perché le nostre lampane si spengono.

Y las fatuas dijeron á las prudentes: Dadnos de vuestro aceite; porque nuestras lámparas se apagan.

And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

The foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’

Risposero le prudenti, e dissero: Perché non ne manchi a voi, e a noi, andate piuttosto da chi ne vende, e compratevene.

Mas las prudentes respondieron, diciendo: Porque no nos falte á nosotras y á vosotras, id antes á los que venden, y comprad para vosotras.

But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

But the wise answered, saying, ‘What if there isn’t enough for us and you? You go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’

Ma in quello, che andavano a comperarne, arrivò lo sposo; e quelle, che erano preparate, entraron con lui alle nozze, e fu chiusa la porta.

Y mientras que ellas iban á comprar, vino el esposo; y las que estaban apercibidas, entraron con él á las bodas; y se cerró la puerta.

And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

While they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast, and the door was shut.

All'ultimo vennero anche le altre vergini, dicendo: Signore, Signore, aprici.

Y después vinieron también las otras vírgenes, diciendo: Señor, Señor, ábrenos.

Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us.’

Ma egli rispose, e disse: In verità, vi dico, non so, chi siate.

Mas respondiendo él, dijo: De cierto os digo, que no os conozco.

But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

But he answered, ‘Most certainly I tell you, I don’t know you.’

Vegliate adunque, perché non sapete il giorno, né l'ora.

Velad, pues, porque no sabéis el día ni la hora en que el Hijo del hombre ha de venir.

Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Watch therefore, for you don’t know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

Imperocché (la cosa è) come quando un uomo partendo per lontan paese, chiamò i suoi servi, e mise il suo nelle loro mani:

Porque el reino de los cielos es como un hombre que partiéndose lejos llamó á sus siervos, y les entregó sus bienes.

For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

“For it is like a man going into another country, who called his own servants and entrusted his goods to them.

E dette all'uno cinque talenti, e all'altro due, e uno ad un altro, a ognuno a proporzione della sua capacità, e immediatamente si partì.

Y á éste dió cinco talentos, y al otro dos, y al otro uno: á cada uno conforme á su facultad; y luego se partió lejos.

And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his own ability. Then he went on his journey.

Andò adunque quegli, che aveva ricevuti cinque talenti, e li trafficò, e ne guadagnò altri cinque.

Y el que había recibido cinco talentos se fué, y granjeó con ellos, é hizo otros cinco talentos.

Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.

Immediately he who received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents.

Medesimamente colui, che ne aveva ricevuti due, ne guadagnò altri due.

Asimismo el que había recibido dos, ganó también él otros dos.

And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.

In the same way, he also who got the two gained another two.

Ma colui, che ne aveva ricevuto uno, andò, e fece una buca nella terra, e nascose il danaro del suo padrone.

Mas el que había recibido uno, fué y cavó en la tierra, y escondió el dinero de su señor.

But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.

But he who received the one talent went away and dug in the earth and hid his lord’s money.

Dopo lungo spazio di tempo ritornò il padrone di que' servi, e chiamogli ai conti.

Y después de mucho tiempo, vino el señor de aquellos siervos, é hizo cuentas con ellos.

After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

“Now after a long time the lord of those servants came, and settled accounts with them.

E venuto colui, che avea ricevuto cinque talenti, gliene presentò altri cinque, dicendo: Signore, tu mi hai dato cinque talenti, eccone cinque di più, che ho guadagnati.

Y llegando el que había recibido cinco talentos, trajo otros cinco talentos, diciendo: Señor, cinco talentos me entregaste; he aquí otros cinco talentos he ganado sobre ellos.

And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

He who received the five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five talents in addition to them.’

Gli rispose il padrone: Bene sta, servo buono, e fedele, perché nel poco se' stato fedele, ti farò padrone del molto: entra nel gaudio del tuo signore.

Y su señor le dijo: Bien, buen siervo y fiel; sobre poco has sido fiel, sobre mucho te pondré: entra en el gozo de tu señor.

His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

Si presentò poi anche l'altro, che avea ricevuto i due talenti e disse: Signore, tu mi desti due talenti, ecco che io ne ho guadagnati due altri.

Y llegando también el que había recibido dos talentos, dijo: Señor, dos talentos me entregaste; he aquí otros dos talentos he ganado sobre ellos.

He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

“He also who got the two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents. Behold, I have gained another two talents in addition to them.’

Dissegli il padrone: Bene sta, servo buono, e fedele, perché se' stato fedele nel poco, ti farò padrone del molto: entra nel gaudio del tuo signore.

Su señor le dijo: Bien, buen siervo y fiel; sobre poco has sido fiel, sobre mucho te pondré: entra en el gozo de tu señor.

His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things. I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

Presentatosi poi anche colui, che aveva ricevuto un talento, disse: Signore, so, che sei uomo austero: che mieti, dove non hai seminato, e raccogli, dove non hai sparso nulla:

Y llegando también el que había recibido un talento, dijo: Señor, te conocía que eres hombre duro, que siegas donde no sembraste, y recoges donde no esparciste;

Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

“He also who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you that you are a hard man, reaping where you didn’t sow, and gathering where you didn’t scatter.

E timoroso andai a nascondere il tuo talento sotto terra: Eccoti il tuo.

Y tuve miedo, y fuí, y escondí tu talento en la tierra: he aquí tienes lo que es tuyo.

And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have what is yours.’

Ma il padrone rispose, e dissegli: Servo malvagio, e infingardo, tu sapevi, che io mieto, dove non ho seminato, e ricolgo, dove non ho sparso.

Y respondiendo su señor, le dijo: Malo y negligente siervo, sabías que siego donde no sembré y que recojo donde no esparcí;

His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:

“But his lord answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant. You knew that I reap where I didn’t sow, and gather where I didn’t scatter.

Dovevi adunque dare il mio denaro ai banchieri, e al mio ritorno avrei ritirato il mio con l'interesse.

Por tanto te convenía dar mi dinero á los banqueros, y viniendo yo, hubiera recibido lo que es mío con usura.

Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

You ought therefore to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back my own with interest.

Toglietegli adunque il talento, che ha e datelo a colui, che ha dieci talenti.

Quitadle pues el talento, y dadlo al que tiene diez talentos.

Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

Take away therefore the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents.

Imperocché a chi ha, sarà dato, e troverassi nell'abbondanza: ma a chi non ha, sarà tolto anche quello, che sembra avere.

Porque á cualquiera que tuviere, le será dado, y tendrá más; y al que no tuviere, aun lo que tiene le será quitado.

For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away.

E il servo inutile gittatelo nelle tenebre esteriori: ivi sarà pianto, e stridore di denti.

Y al siervo inútil echadle en las tinieblas de afuera: allí será el lloro y el crujir de dientes.

And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Quando poi verrà il Figliuolo dell'uomo nella sua maestà, e con lui tutti gli Angeli, allora sederà sopra il trono della sua maestà:

Y cuando el Hijo del hombre venga en su gloria, y todos los santos ángeles con él, entonces se sentará sobre el trono de su gloria.

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

“But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory.

E si raduneranno dinanzi a lui tutte le nazioni, ed egli separerà gli uni dagli altri, come il pastore separa le pecorelle dai capretti:

Y serán reunidas delante de él todas las gentes: y los apartará los unos de los otros, como aparta el pastor las ovejas de los cabritos.

And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

E metterà le pecorelle alla sua destra, e i capretti alla sinistra.

Y pondrá las ovejas á su derecha, y los cabritos á la izquierda.

And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

Allora il Re dirà a quelli, che saranno alla sua destra: Venite, bene detti dal Padre mio, prendete possesso del regno preparato a voi sin dalla fondazione del mondo.

Entonces el Rey dirá á los que estarán á su derecha: Venid, benditos de mi Padre, heredad el reino preparado para vosotros desde la fundación del mundo:

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;

Imperocché ebbi fame, e mi deste da mangiare: ebbi sete, e mi deste da bere: fui pellegrino, e mi ricettaste:

Porque tuve hambre, y me disteis de comer; tuve sed, y me disteis de beber; fuí huésped, y me recogisteis;

For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

for I was hungry and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took me in.

Ignudo, e mi rivestiste: ammalato e mi visitaste: carcerato, e veniste da me.

Desnudo, y me cubristeis; enfermo, y me visitasteis; estuve en la cárcel, y vinisteis á mí.

Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came to me.’

Allora gli risponderanno i giusti: Signore, quando mai ti abbiamo veduta affamato, e ti abbiam dato da mangiare: assetato, e ti demmo da bere?

Entonces los justos le responderán, diciendo: Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento, y te sustentamos? ¿ó sediento, y te dimos de beber?

Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

“Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you a drink?

Quando ti abbiamo veduto pellegrino, e ti abbiamo ricettato: ignudo, e ti abbiam rivestito?

¿Y cuándo te vimos huésped, y te recogimos? ¿ó desnudo, y te cubrimos?

When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

When did we see you as a stranger and take you in, or naked and clothe you?

Ovvero quando ti abbiam veduto ammalato, o carcerato, e venimmo a visitarti?

¿O cuándo te vimos enfermo, ó en la cárcel, y vinimos á ti?

Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

When did we see you sick or in prison and come to you?’

E il re risponderà, e dirà loro: In verità vi dico: Ogni volta che avete fatto qualche cosa per uno de' più piccoli di questi miei fratelli, l'avete fatta a me.

Y respondiendo el Rey, les dirá: De cierto os digo que en cuanto lo hicisteis á uno de estos mis hermanos pequeñitos, á mí lo hicisteis.

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

“The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

Allora dirà anche a coloro, che saranno alla sinistra: Via da me, maladetti, al fuoco eterno, che fu preparato pel Diavolo, e pe' suoi Angeli.

Entonces dirá también á los que estarán á la izquierda: Apartaos de mí, malditos, al fuego eterno preparado para el diablo y para sus ángeles:

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels;

Imperocché ebbi fame, e non mi deste da mangiare: ebbi sete, e non mi deste da bere:

Porque tuve hambre, y no me disteis de comer; tuve sed, y no me disteis de beber;

For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

for I was hungry, and you didn’t give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink;

Era pellegrino, e non mi ricettaste, ignudo, e non mi rivestiste: ammalato, e carcerato, e non mi visitaste.

Fuí huésped, y no me recogisteis; desnudo, y no me cubristeis; enfermo, y en la cárcel, y no me visitasteis.

I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

I was a stranger, and you didn’t take me in; naked, and you didn’t clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’

Allora gli risponderanno anche questi: Signore, quando mai ti abbiam veduto affamato, o sitibondo, o pellegrino, o ignudo, o ammalato, o carcerato, e non ti abbiamo assistito?

Entonces también ellos le responderán, diciendo: Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento, ó sediento, ó huésped, ó desnudo, ó enfermo, ó en la cárcel, y no te servimos?

Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

“Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn’t help you?’

Allora risponderà ad essi con dire: In verità vi dico: Ogni volta che non mi avete ciò fatto per uno di questi piccoli, non lo avete fatto nemmeno a me.

Entonces les responderá, diciendo: De cierto os digo que en cuanto no lo hicisteis á uno de estos pequeñitos, ni á mí lo hicisteis.

Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

“Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you didn’t do it to one of the least of these, you didn’t do it to me.’

E anderanno questi all'eterno supplizio: i giusti poi alla vita eterna. I principi del sacerdoti consultano la morte di Cristo. Egli è unto con prezioso unguento da una donna, contro di cui mormorano i discepoli. E' venduto da Giuda, del tradimento di cui parla egli co' discepoli nella cena, in cui dà ad essi il pane, e il vino. Predice lo scandalo di tutti loro, e le tre negazioni di Pietro. Orazione dell'orto, dopo la quale è catturato da' Giudei; ad uno de’ quali Pietro taglia un orecchio. Fuggono i discepoli. Cristo è accusato da' falsi testimoni dinanzi a Caifa, e giudicato reo di morte, sputacchiato, e battuto. Negato tre volte da Pietro.

E irán éstos al tormento eterno, y los justos á la vida eterna.

And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
