Mateo 22

Jesús les habló a ellos otra vez en parábolas, diciendo:

Y RESPONDIENDO Jesús, les volvió á hablar en parábolas, diciendo:

And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,

"El reino del cielo es como cierto rey que hizo una fiesta de bodas para su hijo.

El reino de los cielos es semejante á un hombre rey, que hizo bodas á su hijo;

The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,

“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king, who made a wedding feast for his son,

Envió fuera a sus siervos a llamar aquellos que estaban invitados a venir a la fiesta de bodas, pero ellos no quisieron venir.

Y envió sus siervos para que llamasen los llamados á las bodas; mas no quisieron venir.

And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come.

Otra vez el rey envió otros sirvientes, diciendo: 'Diles a los que han sido invitados: "He preparado mi cena. Mi buey y terneros gordos han sido matados, y todas las cosas están listas. Vengan a la fiesta de bodas."'

Volvió á enviar otros siervos, diciendo: Decid á los llamados: He aquí, mi comida he aparejado; mis toros y animales engordados son muertos, y todo está prevenido: venid á las bodas.

Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.

Again he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner. My cattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding feast!”’

Pero aquellas personas no tomaron con seriedad su invitación. Algunos se fueron de vuelta a sus fincas, y otros regresaron a sus lugares de negocios.

Mas ellos no se cuidaron, y se fueron, uno á su labranza, y otro á sus negocios;

But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:

Los otros tomaron a los sirvientes del rey, los trataron vergonzosamente, y los mataron.

Y otros, tomando á sus siervos, los afrentaron y los mataron.

And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.

Pero el rey estaba enojado. Él envió a sus ejércitos, mataron a esos asesinos, y quemaron su ciudad.

Y el rey, oyendo esto, se enojó; y enviando sus ejércitos, destruyó á aquellos homicidas, y puso fuego á su ciudad.

But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

Entonces él dijo a sus sirvientes: "La boda está lista, pero aquellos que fueron invitados no eran dignos.

Entonces dice á sus siervos: Las bodas á la verdad están aparejadas; mas los que eran llamados no eran dignos.

Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.

“Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited weren’t worthy.

Por lo tanto vayan a los cruces de caminos e inviten a la fiesta de bodas a tantas personas como ustedes puedan encontrar.

Id pues á las salidas de los caminos, y llamad á las bodas á cuantos hallareis.

Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

Go therefore to the intersections of the highways, and as many as you may find, invite to the wedding feast.’

Los siervos fueron por los caminos y juntaron a toda la gente que encontraron, ambos malos y buenos. Así que el salón de bodas estaba lleno de invitados.

Y saliendo los siervos por los caminos, juntaron á todos los que hallaron, juntamente malos y buenos: y las bodas fueron llenas de convidados.

So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.

Pero cuando el rey vino a ver los invitados, vio allí un hombre que no se había puesto un traje de boda.

And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:

El rey le dijo a él: 'Amigo, ¿cómo entraste aquí sin ropa de bodas? ´ Y el hombre se quedó sin poder hablar.

Y le dijo: Amigo, ¿cómo entraste aquí no teniendo vestido de boda? Mas él cerró la boca.

And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?’ He was speechless.

Entonces el rey dijo a sus sirvientes: 'Aten a este hombre de manos y pies, y tírenlo en las tinieblas de afuera, donde habrá lloro y el crujir de dientes. ´

Entonces el rey dijo á los que servían: Atado de pies y de manos tomadle, y echadle en las tinieblas de afuera: allí será el lloro y el crujir de dientes.

Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him into the outer darkness. That is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.’

Porque muchas personas son llamadas, pero pocas son escogidas."

Entonces los fariseos fueron y planificaron cómo ellos podían atrapar a Jesús en su propia conversación.

Entonces, idos los Fariseos, consultaron cómo le tomarían en alguna palabra.

Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.

Entonces ellos le enviaron a Él sus discípulos, junto con los Herodianos. Ellos dijeron a Jesús: "Maestro, sabemos que eres verdadero y que enseñas el camino de Dios con verdad. Que no te importa la opinión de nadie, y no muestras parcialidad entre las personas.

Y envían á él los discípulos de ellos, con los Herodianos, diciendo: Maestro, sabemos que eres amador de la verdad, y que enseñas con verdad el camino de Dios, y que no te curas de nadie, porque no tienes acepción de persona de hombres.

And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.

They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter whom you teach; for you aren’t partial to anyone.

Así que dinos, ¿qué piensas? ¿Es legal pagar impuestos al César o no?"

Dinos pues, ¿qué te parece? ¿es lícito dar tributo á César, ó no?

Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?

Tell us therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”

Pero Jesús entendió su maldad y les dijo: "¿Por qué me están probando, hipócritas?

Mas Jesús, entendida la malicia de ellos, les dice: ¿Por qué me tentáis, hipócritas?

But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?

Enséñenme el dinero del impuesto". Entonces le trajeron un denario.

Mostradme la moneda del tributo. Y ellos le presentaron un denario.

Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.

Show me the tax money.” They brought to him a denarius.

Jesús le dijo a ellos: "¿De quién es esta imagen y nombre?"

Entonces les dice: ¿Cúya es esta figura, y lo que está encima escrito?

And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?

He asked them, “Whose is this image and inscription?”

Ellos le respondieron: "Del César". Entonces Jesús les dijo: "Entonces da al César las cosas que son del César y a Dios las cosas que son de Dios".

Dícenle: De César. Y díceles: Pagad pues á César lo que es de César, y á Dios lo que es de Dios.

They say unto him, Cæsar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Cæsar the things which are Cæsar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.

They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

Cuando lo oyeron, se maravillaron. Entonces ellos lo dejaron y se fueron lejos.

Y oyendo esto, se maravillaron; y dejándole se fueron.

When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

When they heard it, they marveled, and left him and went away.

En ese día algunos de los Saduceos vinieron a Él, aquellos que dicen que no hay resurrección. Ellos le preguntaron,

Aquel día llegaron á él los Saduceos, que dicen no haber resurrección, y le preguntaron,

The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,

On that day Sadducees (those who say that there is no resurrection) came to him. They asked him,

diciendo: "Maestro, Moisés dijo: 'Si un hombre muere, sin tener hijos, su hermano debe casarse con su esposa y tener un hijo para su hermano.'

Diciendo: Maestro, Moisés dijo: Si alguno muriere sin hijos, su hermano se casará con su mujer, y despertará simiente á su hermano.

Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

saying, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.’

Allí habían siete hermanos. El primero se casó y entonces murió, sin dejar hijos. Él dejó su esposa a su hermano.

Fueron pues, entre nosotros siete hermanos: y el primero tomó mujer, y murió; y no teniendo generación, dejó su mujer á su hermano.

Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:

Now there were with us seven brothers. The first married and died, and having no offspring left his wife to his brother.

Entonces el segundo hermano hizo lo mismo, entonces el tercero, y así igual todos hasta el séptimo hermano.

De la misma manera también el segundo, y el tercero, hasta los siete.

Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.

In the same way, the second also, and the third, to the seventh.

Después de todos ellos, la mujer murió.

Y después de todos murió también la mujer.

And last of all the woman died also.

After them all, the woman died.

Ahora en la resurrección, ¿de quién será esposa la mujer de los siete hermanos? Porque todos ellos la tuvieron."

En la resurrección pues, ¿de cuál de los siete será ella mujer? porque todos la tuvieron.

Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.

Pero Jesús les contestó: "Ustedes están equivocados, porque no conocen las escrituras, ni el poder de Dios.

Entonces respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Erráis ignorando las Escrituras, y el poder de Dios.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

But Jesus answered them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.

Porque en la resurrección no se casarán ni se darán en matrimonio. En cambio, ellos son como ángeles en el cielo.

Porque en la resurrección, ni los hombres tomarán mujeres, ni las mujeres maridos; mas son como los ángeles de Dios en el cielo.

For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Pero concerniente a la resurrección de los muertos, ¿no han leído lo que les fue dicho a ustedes por Dios, diciendo:

Y de la resurrección de los muertos, ¿no habéis leído lo que os es dicho por Dios, que dice:

But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,

But concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven’t you read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,

'YO SOY EL DIOS DE ABRAHAM, DIOS DE ISAAC Y EL DIOS DE JACOB.'? Dios no es Dios de los muertos, sino de los vivos."

Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, y el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob? Dios no es Dios de muertos, sino de vivos.

I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

Cuando la multitud escuchó esto, estaban sorprendidos de su enseñanza.

Y oyendo esto las gentes, estaban atónitas de su doctrina.

And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.

When the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.

Pero cuando los Fariseos oyeron que Jesús había hecho callar a los Saduceos, se reunieron.

Entonces los Fariseos, oyendo que había cerrado la boca á los Saduceos, se juntaron á una.

But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.

But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, gathered themselves together.

Uno de ellos, intérprete de la ley, le hizo una pregunta, para probarlo:

Y preguntó uno de ellos, intérprete de la ley, tentándole y diciendo:

Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

One of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him.

"Maestro ¿cuál es el mandamiento más grande de la ley?"

Maestro, ¿cuál es el mandamiento grande en la ley?

Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?”

Jesús le dijo: "'AMARÁS AL SEÑOR TU DIOS CON TODO TU CORAZÓN Y CON TODA TU ALMA Y CON TODA TU MENTE.'

Y Jesús le dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios de todo tu corazón, y de toda tu alma, y de toda tu mente.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

Este es el gran y primer mandamiento.

Este es el primero y el grande mandamiento.

This is the first and great commandment.

Y el segundo mandamiento es parecido- 'DEBES AMAR A TU VECINO COMO A TI MISMO.'

Y el segundo es semejante á éste: Amarás á tu prójimo como á ti mismo.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

De estos dos mandamientos depende toda la ley y los profetas."

De estos dos mandamientos depende toda la ley y los profetas.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”

Ahora mientras los Fariseos aún estaban reunidos, Jesús les hizo una pregunta.

Y estando juntos los Fariseos, Jesús les preguntó,

While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,

Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question,

Él dijo: "¿Qué ustedes piensan sobre el Cristo? ¿De quién es Hijo?" Ellos le dijeron: "El Hijo de David."

Diciendo: ¿Qué os parece del Cristo? ¿de quién es Hijo? Dícenle: De David.

Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.

saying, “What do you think of the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “Of David.”

Jesús les dijo: "¿Cómo entonces es que David en el Espíritu lo llama Señor, diciendo:

El les dice: ¿Pues cómo David en Espíritu le llama Señor, diciendo:

He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,

He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying,

EL SEÑOR DIJO A MI SEÑOR: 'SIÉNTATE A MI MANO DERECHA, HASTA QUE PONGA TUS ENEMIGOS A TU ESTRADO'?

Dijo el Señor á mi Señor: Siéntate á mi diestra, entre tanto que pongo tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies?

The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?

‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet’?

Si David entonces llama al Cristo 'Señor', ¿cómo es Él hijo de David?"

Pues si David le llama Señor, ¿cómo es su Hijo?

If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

“If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?”

Nadie fue capaz de contestarle palabra alguna, y nadie se atrevió a hacerle más preguntas desde ese día.

Y nadie le podía responder palabra; ni osó alguno desde aquel día preguntarle más.

And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

No one was able to answer him a word, neither did any man dare ask him any more questions from that day forward.
