Jesus respondeu e lhes falou novamente por parábolas, dizendo:

Y RESPONDIENDO Jesús, les volvió á hablar en parábolas, diciendo:

“O Reino dos Céus é semelhante a um rei que preparou um banquete de casamento para seu filho,

El reino de los cielos es semejante á un hombre rey, que hizo bodas á su hijo;

The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,

“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king, who made a wedding feast for his son,

e enviou seus servos para chamar os convidados para o banquete de casamento, mas eles não quiseram vir.

Y envió sus siervos para que llamasen los llamados á las bodas; mas no quisieron venir.

And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come.

Novamente enviou outros servos, dizendo: ‘Digam aos convidados: “Vejam, preparei o meu banquete. Meus bois e novilhos gordos foram abatidos, e tudo está pronto. Venham para o banquete de casamento!”’

Volvió á enviar otros siervos, diciendo: Decid á los llamados: He aquí, mi comida he aparejado; mis toros y animales engordados son muertos, y todo está prevenido: venid á las bodas.

Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.

Again he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner. My cattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding feast!”’

Mas eles não deram atenção e seguiram seus caminhos, um para a sua fazenda, outro para os seus negócios;

Mas ellos no se cuidaron, y se fueron, uno á su labranza, y otro á sus negocios;

But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:

e os restantes agarraram os servos dele, os maltrataram e os mataram.

Y otros, tomando á sus siervos, los afrentaron y los mataron.

And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.

Quando o rei ouviu isso, ficou irado e, enviando os seus exércitos, destruiu aqueles assassinos e incendiou a cidade deles.

Y el rey, oyendo esto, se enojó; y enviando sus ejércitos, destruyó á aquellos homicidas, y puso fuego á su ciudad.

But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

“Então disse aos seus servos: ‘O banquete de casamento está pronto, mas os convidados não eram dignos.

Entonces dice á sus siervos: Las bodas á la verdad están aparejadas; mas los que eran llamados no eran dignos.

Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.

“Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited weren’t worthy.

Vão, portanto, aos cruzamentos das estradas e convidem para o banquete de casamento todos os que vocês encontrarem.’

Id pues á las salidas de los caminos, y llamad á las bodas á cuantos hallareis.

Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

Go therefore to the intersections of the highways, and as many as you may find, invite to the wedding feast.’

Aqueles servos saíram pelas estradas e reuniram todos os que encontraram, tanto maus quanto bons. E o salão de casamento ficou cheio de convidados.

Y saliendo los siervos por los caminos, juntaron á todos los que hallaron, juntamente malos y buenos: y las bodas fueron llenas de convidados.

So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.

“Mas, quando o rei entrou para ver os convidados, viu ali um homem que não vestia trajes de casamento,

And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:

e lhe perguntou: ‘Amigo, como você entrou aqui sem trajes de casamento?’ E ele emudeceu.

Y le dijo: Amigo, ¿cómo entraste aquí no teniendo vestido de boda? Mas él cerró la boca.

And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?’ He was speechless.

Então o rei disse aos servos: ‘Amarrem-lhe os pés e as mãos, levem-no e lancem-no nas trevas exteriores. Ali haverá choro e ranger de dentes.’

Entonces el rey dijo á los que servían: Atado de pies y de manos tomadle, y echadle en las tinieblas de afuera: allí será el lloro y el crujir de dientes.

Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him into the outer darkness. That is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.’

Pois muitos são chamados, mas poucos escolhidos.”

Porque muchos son llamados, y pocos escogidos.

For many are called, but few are chosen.

Então os fariseus saíram e planejaram como poderiam apanhá-lo em suas palavras.

Entonces, idos los Fariseos, consultaron cómo le tomarían en alguna palabra.

Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.

Enviaram-lhe seus discípulos, junto com os herodianos, dizendo: “Mestre, sabemos que você é verdadeiro e ensina o caminho de Deus com verdade, sem se importar com quem quer que seja; pois você não faz acepção de pessoas.

Y envían á él los discípulos de ellos, con los Herodianos, diciendo: Maestro, sabemos que eres amador de la verdad, y que enseñas con verdad el camino de Dios, y que no te curas de nadie, porque no tienes acepción de persona de hombres.

And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.

They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter whom you teach; for you aren’t partial to anyone.

Diga-nos, portanto, o que você acha? É lícito pagar impostos a César, ou não?”

Dinos pues, ¿qué te parece? ¿es lícito dar tributo á César, ó no?

Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?

Mas Jesus, percebendo a maldade deles, disse: “Por que vocês me provam, hipócritas?

But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?

Mostrem-me a moeda do imposto.” E eles lhe trouxeram um denário.

Ele lhes perguntou: “De quem é esta imagem e inscrição?”

Entonces les dice: ¿Cúya es esta figura, y lo que está encima escrito?

And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?

He asked them, “Whose is this image and inscription?”

Eles lhe responderam: “De César.” Então ele lhes disse: “Deem, portanto, a César o que é de César, e a Deus o que é de Deus.”

Dícenle: De César. Y díceles: Pagad pues á César lo que es de César, y á Dios lo que es de Dios.

They say unto him, Cæsar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Cæsar the things which are Cæsar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.

They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

Ao ouvirem isso, ficaram maravilhados e, deixando-o, foram embora.

Y oyendo esto, se maravillaron; y dejándole se fueron.

When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

Naquele dia, os saduceus (que dizem não haver ressurreição) aproximaram-se dele. Eles lhe perguntaram,

Aquel día llegaron á él los Saduceos, que dicen no haber resurrección, y le preguntaron,

The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,

On that day Sadducees (those who say that there is no resurrection) came to him. They asked him,

dizendo: “Mestre, Moisés disse: ‘Se um homem morrer, não tendo filhos, seu irmão se casará com a mulher dele e suscitará descendência para seu irmão.’

Diciendo: Maestro, Moisés dijo: Si alguno muriere sin hijos, su hermano se casará con su mujer, y despertará simiente á su hermano.

Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

saying, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.’

Ora, havia entre nós sete irmãos. O primeiro casou-se e morreu e, não tendo descendência, deixou sua mulher para seu irmão.

Fueron pues, entre nosotros siete hermanos: y el primero tomó mujer, y murió; y no teniendo generación, dejó su mujer á su hermano.

Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:

Now there were with us seven brothers. The first married and died, and having no offspring left his wife to his brother.

Da mesma forma, o segundo também, e o terceiro, até o sétimo.

De la misma manera también el segundo, y el tercero, hasta los siete.

Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.

In the same way, the second also, and the third, to the seventh.

Depois de todos eles, a mulher morreu.

Y después de todos murió también la mujer.

And last of all the woman died also.

Na ressurreição, portanto, de qual dos sete ela será esposa? Pois todos a tiveram.”

En la resurrección pues, ¿de cuál de los siete será ella mujer? porque todos la tuvieron.

Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.

Mas Jesus lhes respondeu: “Vocês estão enganados, não conhecendo as Escrituras, nem o poder de Deus.

Entonces respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Erráis ignorando las Escrituras, y el poder de Dios.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

But Jesus answered them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.

Pois na ressurreição eles não se casam nem são dados em casamento, mas são como os anjos de Deus no céu.

Porque en la resurrección, ni los hombres tomarán mujeres, ni las mujeres maridos; mas son como los ángeles de Dios en el cielo.

For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like God’s angels in heaven.

Mas, quanto à ressurreição dos mortos, vocês não leram o que lhes foi falado por Deus, que disse:

Y de la resurrección de los muertos, ¿no habéis leído lo que os es dicho por Dios, que dice:

But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,

But concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven’t you read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,

‘Eu sou o Deus de Abraão, o Deus de Isaque e o Deus de Jacó’? Deus não é Deus de mortos, mas de vivos.”

Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, y el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob? Dios no es Dios de muertos, sino de vivos.

I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

Quando as multidões ouviram isso, ficaram maravilhadas com o seu ensino.

Y oyendo esto las gentes, estaban atónitas de su doctrina.

And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.

When the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.

Mas os fariseus, quando ouviram que ele havia silenciado os saduceus, reuniram-se.

Entonces los Fariseos, oyendo que había cerrado la boca á los Saduceos, se juntaron á una.

But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.

But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, gathered themselves together.

Um deles, perito na lei, fez-lhe uma pergunta, para testá-lo:

Y preguntó uno de ellos, intérprete de la ley, tentándole y diciendo:

Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

One of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him.

“Mestre, qual é o maior mandamento da lei?”

Maestro, ¿cuál es el mandamiento grande en la ley?

Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?”

Jesus lhe disse: “‘Ame ao Senhor, seu Deus, de todo o seu coração, de toda a sua alma e de todo o seu entendimento.’

Y Jesús le dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios de todo tu corazón, y de toda tu alma, y de toda tu mente.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

Este é o primeiro e grande mandamento.

This is the first and great commandment.

E o segundo, semelhante a este, é: ‘Ame ao seu próximo como a si mesmo.’

Y el segundo es semejante á éste: Amarás á tu prójimo como á ti mismo.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

Destes dois mandamentos dependem toda a lei e os profetas.”

De estos dos mandamientos depende toda la ley y los profetas.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”

Ora, enquanto os fariseus estavam reunidos, Jesus lhes fez uma pergunta,

Y estando juntos los Fariseos, Jesús les preguntó,

While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,

Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question,

dizendo: “O que vocês pensam do Cristo? De quem ele é filho?” Eles lhe responderam: “De Davi.”

Diciendo: ¿Qué os parece del Cristo? ¿de quién es Hijo? Dícenle: De David.

Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.

saying, “What do you think of the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “Of David.”

Ele lhes disse: “Como então Davi, no Espírito, o chama de Senhor, dizendo:

El les dice: ¿Pues cómo David en Espíritu le llama Señor, diciendo:

He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,

He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying,

‘O Senhor disse ao meu Senhor: assente-se à minha direita, até que eu faça dos seus inimigos um estrado para os seus pés’?

Dijo el Señor á mi Señor: Siéntate á mi diestra, entre tanto que pongo tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies?

The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?

‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet’?

“Se Davi, então, o chama de Senhor, como ele é seu filho?”

Pues si David le llama Señor, ¿cómo es su Hijo?

If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

“If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?”

Ninguém foi capaz de lhe responder uma só palavra, nem ousou alguém, daquele dia em diante, fazer-lhe mais perguntas.

Y nadie le podía responder palabra; ni osó alguno desde aquel día preguntarle más.

And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

No one was able to answer him a word, neither did any man dare ask him any more questions from that day forward.
