16Jakob zeugte den Joseph, den Mann der Maria, aus der Jesus gezeugt wurde, der der Christus genannt wird. (1) so die ältHs. des gr. Grundtextes. (2) Christus heisst: der Gesalbte (vgl. darüber Jes 61:1; Ps 2:2). Man hat so den verheissenen Heiland bez. (a) Mt 27:17 22
17Alle Geschlechter nun von Abraham bis zu David sind vierzehn Geschlechter, und von David bis zur Wegführung nach Babylon sind es vierzehn Geschlechter, und von der Wegführung nach Babylon bis zu Christus vierzehn Geschlechter.
18MIT der Geburt Jesu Christi aber verhielt es sich so: Als seine Mutter Maria mit Joseph verlobt war, fand es sich, ehe sie zusammengekommen waren, dass sie vom heiligen Geiste schwanger war. (a) Lu 1:26-38
19Weil indessen Joseph, ihr Mann, rechtschaffen war und sie (doch) nicht in Schande bringen wollte, gedachte er sie heimlich zu entlassen. (a) 5Mo 24:1-4
20Doch als er dies im Sinn hatte, siehe, da erschien ihm ein Engel des Herrn im Traum, der sprach: Joseph, Sohn Davids, scheue dich nicht, Maria, dein Weib, zu dir zu nehmen; denn was in ihr gezeugt ist, das ist vom heiligen Geiste.
21Sie wird aber einen Sohn gebären, und du sollst ihm den Namen Jesus geben, denn er wird sein Volk erretten von ihren Sünden. (a) Lu 1:31; 2:21; Apg 4:12
22Dies alles jedoch ist geschehen, damit erfüllt würde, was vom Herrn durch den Propheten gesprochen worden ist, welcher sagt:
23"Siehe, die Jungfrau wird schwanger werden und einen Sohn gebären, und man wird ihm den Namen Immanuel geben", was übersetzt heisst: "Gott mit uns". (a) Jes 7:14; 8:8 10
24Als aber Joseph vom Schlaf erwacht war, tat er, wie ihm der Engel des Herrn befohlen hatte, und nahm sein Weib zu sich.

18Y el nacimiento de Jesucristo fué así: Que siendo María su madre desposada con José, antes que se juntasen, se halló haber concebido del Espíritu Santo.
19Y José su marido, como era justo, y no quisiese infamarla, quiso dejarla secretamente.
20Y pensando él en esto, he aquí el ángel del Señor le aparece en sueños, diciendo: José, hijo de David, no temas de recibir á María tu mujer, porque lo que en ella es engendrado, del Espíritu Santo es.
21Y parirá un hijo, y llamarás su nombre JESUS, porque él salvará á su pueblo de sus pecados.
22Todo esto aconteció para que se cumpliese lo que fué dicho por el Señor, por el profeta que dijo:
23He aquí la virgen concebirá y parirá un hijo, y llamarás su nombre Emmanuel, que declarado, es: Con nosotros Dios.
24Y despertando José del sueño, hizo como el ángel del Señor le había mandado, y recibió á su mujer.
25Y no la conoció hasta que parió á su hijo primogénito: y llamó su nombre JESUS.

18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
20But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

4Ram became the father of Amminadab. Amminadab became the father of Nahshon. Nahshon became the father of Salmon.

18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was like this: After his mother, Mary, was engaged to Joseph, before they came together, she was found pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
19Joseph, her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, intended to put her away secretly.
20But when he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, don’t be afraid to take to yourself Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
21She shall give birth to a son. You shall name him Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins.”
22Now all this has happened that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
23“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall give birth to a son. They shall call his name Immanuel,” which is, being interpreted, “God with us.”
24Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took his wife to himself;
25and didn’t know her sexually until she had given birth to her firstborn son. He named him Jesus.
