1Sechs Tage später nahm Jesus den Petrus, Jakobus und Johannes, dessen Bruder, mit sich und führte sie abseits auf einen hohen Berg.
2Und er ward vor ihnen verwandelt: Sein Antlitz glänzte wie die Sonne, und seine Kleider wurden leuchtend wie das Licht.
3Und siehe, es erschienen ihnen Moses und Elias, die sich mit ihm unterredeten.
4Und Petrus nahm das Wort und sprach zu Jesus: "Herr, wie schön ist es doch, daß wir hier sind. Willst du, so will ich hier drei Hütten bauen: Dir eine, dem Moses eine und dem Elias eine."
5Noch sprach er so und schon kam der Schatten einer lichten Wolke über sie, und eine Stimme aus der Wolke sprach: "Das ist mein vielgeliebter Sohn, an dem ich Wohlgefallen habe. Auf diesen sollt ihr hören."
6Als die Jünger dies hörten, fielen sie auf ihr Antlitz nieder und gerieten in gewaltige Furcht.
7Doch Jesus trat herzu, berührte sie und sprach: "Steht auf, seid ohne Furcht!"
8Und sie erhoben ihre Augen und sahen niemand mehr als Jesus allein.
9Während sie vom Berge niederstiegen, befahl ihnen Jesus: "Sagt niemand etwas von dem Gesichte, bis der Menschensohn von den Toten auferstanden ist."
10Da fragten ihn die Jünger: "Wie ist es denn, wenn die Schriftgelehrten sagen, vorher müsse noch Elias kommen?"
11Er sprach zu ihnen: "Elias kommt allerdings, und er wird alles wiederherstellen;
12ja, ich sage euch: Elias ist schon gekommen. Doch man hat ihn nicht erkannt und mit ihm angefangen, was man wollte. Geradeso wird auch der Menschensohn durch sie zu leiden haben."
13Die Jünger begriffen jetzt, daß er zu ihnen von Johannes dem Täufer gesprochen habe.
14Als sie zum Volke gekommen waren, da trat ein Mann vor ihn
15und bat ihn auf den Knien: "Herr, erbarme dich meines Sohnes! Er ist mondsüchtig und hat arg zu leiden. Oft fällt er in das Feuer, oft ins Wasser.
16Ich brachte ihn deinen Jüngern; doch diese konnten ihn nicht heilen."
17Und Jesus sprach: "Du ungläubiges und ganz verkehrtes Geschlecht. Wie lang noch muß ich bei euch bleiben? Wie lang noch muß ich euch ertragen? Bringt ihn her zu mir!"
18Alsdann gebot ihm Jesus, und der Dämon fuhr aus von ihm. So war der Knabe von jener Stunde an geheilt.
19Da traten die Jünger insgeheim zu Jesus hin und fragten ihn: "Warum konnten wir ihn nicht austreiben?"
20Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Weil ihr so wenig Glauben habt. Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wenn ihr Glauben habt so groß nur wie ein Senfkorn, so könnt ihr zu diesem Berge sagen: 'Rück weg von hier, dorthin!' Und er wird weggehen. Gar nichts wird euch unmöglich sein.
21Doch diese Art wird nur durch Beten und Fasten ausgetrieben."
22Solange sie in Galiläa wanderten, sprach Jesus zu ihnen: "Der Menschensohn wird in die Hände der Menschen überliefert werden;
23man wird ihn töten, doch am dritten Tage wird er auferstehen." Da wurden sie sehr traurig.
24Als sie dann nach Kapharnaum gekommen waren, traten die Einnehmer der Doppeldrachme zu Petrus hin und fragten ihn: "Bezahlt euer Meister denn die Doppeldrachme nicht?"
25Er sagte: "Doch." Kaum war er in das Haus gekommen, als Jesus ihm zuvorkam mit der Frage: "Was meinst du, Simon, von wem nehmen die Könige der Erde Zoll und Steuer, von ihren Söhnen oder von den Fremden?"
26"Von den Fremden!" gab er zur Antwort. Da sagte Jesus zu ihm: "So sind die Söhne demnach frei.
27Wir aber wollen ihnen keinen Anstoß geben. Geh an das Meer und wirf die Angel aus und nimm den ersten Fisch, der in die Höhe kommt. Öffne ihm das Maul, darin wirst du einen Stater finden; mit dem bezahle dann für mich und dich."

1Y DESPUÉS de seis días, Jesús toma á Pedro, y á Jacobo, y á Juan su hermano, y los lleva aparte á un monte alto:
2Y se transfiguró delante de ellos; y resplandeció su rostro como el sol, y sus vestidos fueron blancos como la luz.
3Y he aquí les aparecieron Moisés y Elías, hablando con él.
4Y respondiendo Pedro, dijo á Jesús: Señor, bien es que nos quedemos aquí: si quieres, hagamos aquí tres pabellones: para ti uno, y para Moisés otro, y otro para Elías.
5Y estando aún él hablando, he aquí una nube de luz que los cubrió; y he aquí una voz de la nube, que dijo: Este es mi Hijo amado, en el cual tomo contentamiento: á él oid.
6Y oyendo esto los discípulos, cayeron sobre sus rostros, y temieron en gran manera.
7Entonces Jesús llegando, los tocó, y dijo: Levantaos, y no temáis.
8Y alzando ellos sus ojos, á nadie vieron, sino á solo Jesús.
9Y como descendieron del monte, les mandó Jesús, diciendo: No digáis á nadie la visión, hasta que el Hijo del hombre resucite de los muertos.
10Entonces sus discípulos le preguntaron, diciendo: ¿Por qué dicen pues los escribas que es menester que Elías venga primero?
11Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: A la verdad, Elías vendrá primero, y restituirá todas las cosas.
12Mas os digo, que ya vino Elías, y no le conocieron; antes hicieron en él todo lo que quisieron: así también el Hijo del hombre padecerá de ellos.
13Los discípulos entonces entendieron, que les habló de Juan el Bautista.
14Y como ellos llegaron al gentío, vino á él un hombre hincándosele de rodillas,
15Y diciendo: Señor, ten misericordia de mi hijo, que es lunático, y padece malamente; porque muchas veces cae en el fuego, y muchas en el agua.
16Y le he presentado á tus discípulos, y no le han podido sanar.
17Y respondiendo Jesús, dijo: ¡Oh generación infiel y torcida! ¿hasta cuándo tengo de estar con vosotros? ¿hasta cuándo os tengo de sufrir? traédmele acá.
18Y Jesús le reprendió, y salió el demonio de él; y el mozo fué sano desde aquella hora.
19Entonces, llegándose los discípulos á Jesús, aparte, dijeron: ¿Por qué nosotros no lo pudimos echar fuera?
20Y Jesús les dijo: Por vuestra incredulidad; porque de cierto os digo, que si tuviereis fe como un grano de mostaza, diréis á este monte: Pásate de aquí allá: y se pasará: y nada os será imposible.
21Mas este linaje no sale sino por oración y ayuno.
22Y estando ellos en Galilea, Jesús les dijo: El Hijo del hombre será entregado en manos de hombres,
23Y le matarán; mas al tercer día resucitará. Y ellos se entristecieron en gran manera.
24Y como llegaron á Capernaum, vinieron á Pedro los que cobraban las dos dracmas, y dijeron: ¿Vuestro Maestro no paga las dos dracmas?
25El dice: Sí. Y entrando él en casa, Jesús le habló antes, diciendo: ¿Qué te parece, Simón? Los reyes de la tierra, ¿de quién cobran los tributos ó el censo? ¿de sus hijos ó de los extraños?
26Pedro le dice: De los extraños. Jesús le dijo: Luego los hijos son francos.
27Mas porque no los escandalicemos, ve á la mar, y echa el anzuelo, y el primer pez que viniere, tómalo, y abierta su boca, hallarás un estatero: tómalo, y dáselo por mí y por ti.

1And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
2And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
3And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
4Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
5While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
6And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
7And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
8And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.
9And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.
10And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?
11And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
12But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
13Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.
14And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,
15Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.
16And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
17Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
18And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
19Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
20And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
21Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
22And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men:
23And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.
24And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute?
25He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?
26Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free.
27Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.
World English Bible
1After six days, Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain by themselves.
2He was changed before them. His face shone like the sun, and his garments became as white as the light.
3Behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them talking with him.
4Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, let’s make three tents here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
5While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. Behold, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”
6When the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces, and were very afraid.
7Jesus came and touched them and said, “Get up, and don’t be afraid.”
8Lifting up their eyes, they saw no one, except Jesus alone.
9As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Don’t tell anyone what you saw, until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.”
10His disciples asked him, saying, “Then why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
11Jesus answered them, “Elijah indeed comes first, and will restore all things;
12but I tell you that Elijah has come already, and they didn’t recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted to. Even so the Son of Man will also suffer by them.”
13Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the Baptizer.
14When they came to the multitude, a man came to him, kneeling down to him and saying,
15“Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is epileptic and suffers grievously; for he often falls into the fire, and often into the water.
16So I brought him to your disciples, and they could not cure him.”
17Jesus answered, “Faithless and perverse generation! How long will I be with you? How long will I bear with you? Bring him here to me.”
18Jesus rebuked the demon, and it went out of him, and the boy was cured from that hour.
19Then the disciples came to Jesus privately, and said, “Why weren’t we able to cast it out?”
20He said to them, “Because of your unbelief. For most certainly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
21But this kind doesn’t go out except by prayer and fasting.”
22While they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men,
23and they will kill him, and the third day he will be raised up.” They were exceedingly sorry.
24When they had come to Capernaum, those who collected the didrachma coins came to Peter, and said, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the didrachma?”
25He said, “Yes.” When he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or tribute? From their children, or from strangers?”
26Peter said to him, “From strangers.” Jesus said to him, “Therefore the children are exempt.
27But, lest we cause them to stumble, go to the sea, cast a hook, and take up the first fish that comes up. When you have opened its mouth, you will find a stater coin. Take that, and give it to them for me and you.”
