1En ce temps-là Jésus fit route le jour du sabbat à travers les champs de blé. Or ses disciples eurent faim, et ils se mirent à arracher des épis et à manger.
2Mais les pharisiens l'ayant vu lui dirent : « Voici, tes disciples font ce qu'il n'est pas permis de faire un jour de sabbat. »
3Mais il leur dit : « N'avez-vous pas lu ce que fit David, quand il eut faim, ainsi que ceux qui étaient avec lui ?
4Comment il entra dans la maison de Dieu, et comment ils mangèrent les pains de proposition qu'il ne lui était pas permis de manger, non plus qu'à ceux qui étaient avec lui, mais aux prêtres seuls ?
5Ou bien n'avez-vous pas lu dans la loi que, le jour du sabbat, les prêtres dans le temple profanent le sabbat sans se rendre coupables ?
6Or je vous déclare qu'il y a ici quelque chose de plus grand que le temple.
7Mais si vous saviez ce que signifie : Je veux la miséricorde et non le sacrifice, vous n'auriez pas condamné ceux qui ne sont pas coupables ;
8car le fils de l'homme est maître du sabbat. »
9Et, s'étant éloigné de là, il vint dans leur synagogue.
10Et voici, il s'y trouvait un homme qui avait une main sèche. Et ils lui demandèrent : « Est-il permis d'opérer une guérison le jour du sabbat ? » C'était afin de pouvoir l'accuser.
11Mais il leur dit : « Quel sera l'homme d'entre vous qui possédera une seule brebis, et si celle-ci vient à tomber le jour du sabbat dans un fossé, est-ce qu'il ne la saisira pas et ne l'en retirera pas ?
12Combien donc un homme ne vaut-il pas plus qu'une brebis ! En sorte qu'il est permis de bien faire le jour du sabbat. »
13Alors il dit à cet homme : « Étends ta main ; » et il l'étendit, et elle redevint saine comme l'autre.
14Or les pharisiens étant sortis tinrent conseil contre lui afin de le faire périr.
15Mais Jésus l'ayant su s'éloigna de là, et beaucoup de gens le suivirent, et ils les guérit tous,
16et il leur adressa des remontrances pour qu'ils ne le fissent pas connaître ; —
17afin que fût accompli ce dont il a été parlé par l'entremise d'Ésaïe le prophète lorsqu'il dit :
18« Voici Mon serviteur que J'ai choisi, Mon bien-aimé en qui Mon âme a pris plaisir. Je mettrai Mon esprit sur lui, et il dénoncera le jugement aux nations.
19Il ne contestera ni ne criera point, et personne n'entendra sa voix dans les rues.
20Il ne brisera point le roseau froissé, et il n'éteindra point le lumignon fumant, jusques à ce qu'il ait fait triompher le jugement,
21et les nations espéreront en son nom. »
22Alors on lui amena un démoniaque aveugle et muet, et il le guérit, en sorte que ce muet parlait et voyait,
23et toute la foule fut stupéfaite, et elle disait : « Cet homme n'est-il point le fils de David ? »
24Mais les pharisiens l'ayant entendu dirent : « Cet homme ne chasse les démons que grâce à Béézéboul, chef des démons. » Mais connaissant leurs pensées, il leur dit :
25« Tout royaume divisé contre lui-même est dévasté, et toute ville ou toute famille divisée contre elle-même ne subsistera pas.
26Et si Satan chasse Satan, il a été divisé contre lui-même ; comment donc son royaume subsistera-t-il ?
27Et si, moi, c'est grâce à Béézéboul que je chasse les démons, vos fils, grâce à qui les chassent ils ? C'est pourquoi ce sont eux qui seront vos juges.
28Mais, si c'est grâce à l'esprit de Dieu que moi je chasse les démons, le royaume de Dieu est donc parvenu jusques à vous.
29Ou bien, comment quelqu'un peut-il entrer dans la maison de l'homme fort et piller ses biens, s'il n'a pas premièrement garrotté l'homme fort, et alors il pillera sa maison ?
30Celui qui n'est pas avec moi est contre moi, et celui qui ne rassemble pas avec moi disperse.
31C'est pourquoi je vous le déclare : tout péché et tout blasphème vous sera pardonné à vous autres hommes, mais le blasphème contre l'esprit ne sera point pardonné.
32Et celui qui aura parlé contre le fils de l'homme, il lui sera pardonné, mais celui qui aura parlé contre l'esprit saint, il ne lui sera certainement pas pardonné, ni dans ce temps-ci, ni dans le temps à venir.
33Ou bien admettez que l'arbre est bon et que son fruit est bon, ou bien admettez que l'arbre est pourri et que son fruit est pourri ; car c'est au fruit que se connaît l'arbre.
34Engeance de vipères, comment pouvez-vous, méchants comme vous êtes, dire de bonnes choses ? Car c'est par ce qui déborde du cœur, que la bouche parle.
35L'homme bon tire de son bon trésor de bonnes choses, et l'homme mauvais tire de son mauvais trésor de mauvaises choses.
36Mais je vous déclare que toute parole oiseuse que diront les hommes, ils en rendront compte au jour du jugement ;
37car par tes paroles tu seras justifié, et par tes paroles tu seras condamné. »
38Alors quelques-uns des scribes s'adressèrent à lui, en disant : « Maître, nous voulons voir un signe dont tu sois l'auteur. »
39Mais il leur répliqua : « Une génération méchante et adultère réclame un signe, et il ne lui sera donné d'autre signe que le signe de Jonas le prophète.
40Car de même que Jonas fut dans le ventre de la baleine trois jours et trois nuits, de même le fils de l'homme sera dans le cœur de la terre trois jours et trois nuits.
41Les hommes de Ninive ressusciteront lors du jugement avec cette génération, et ils la condamneront, car ils se repentirent à la prédication de Jonas ; et voici, il y a ici plus que Jonas.
42La reine du Midi ressuscitera lors du jugement avec cette génération, et elle la condamnera, car elle vint des extrémités de la terre pour entendre la sagesse de Salomon ; et voici, il y a ici plus que Salomon.
43Mais, quand l'esprit impur est sorti de l'homme, il parcourt les lieux arides, cherchant du repos, et il n'en trouve point.
44Alors il dit : « Je retournerai dans ma maison d'où je suis sorti. » Et y revenant, il la trouve en paix, balayée et ornée.
45Alors il va et prend avec lui sept autres esprits plus méchants que lui-même, et, après être entrés, ils y habitent ; et la nouvelle condition de cet homme devient pire que la première. Il en sera aussi de même pour cette méchante génération. »
46Pendant qu'il parlait encore à la foule, voici, sa mère et ses frères se tenaient dehors, cherchant à lui parler.
47Or, quelqu'un lui dit : voici, ta mère et tes frères sont là dehors qui cherchent à te parler.
48Mais Jésus répliqua à celui qui le lui disait : « Qui est ma mère, et qui sont mes frères ? »
49Et ayant étendu la main vers ses disciples, il dit : « Voilà ma mère et mes frères !
50Car quiconque aura fait la volonté de mon Père qui est dans les cieux, c'est lui qui est mon frère, et ma sœur, et ma mère. »

1EN aquel tiempo iba Jesús por los sembrados en sábado; y sus discípulos tenían hambre, y comenzaron á coger espigas, y á comer.
2Y viéndolo los Fariseos, le dijeron: He aquí tus discípulos hacen lo que no es lícito hacer en sábado.
3Y él les dijo: ¿No habéis leído qué hizo David, teniendo él hambre y los que con él estaban:
4Cómo entró en la casa de Dios, y comió los panes de la proposición, que no le era lícito comer, ni á los que estaban con él, sino á solos los sacerdotes?
5O ¿no habéis leído en la ley, que los sábados en el templo los sacerdotes profanan el sábado, y son sin culpa?
6Pues os digo que uno mayor que el templo está aquí.
7Mas si supieseis qué es: Misericordia quiero y no sacrificio, no condenaríais á los inocentes:
8Porque Señor es del sábado el Hijo del hombre.
9Y partiéndose de allí, vino á la sinagoga de ellos.
10Y he aquí había allí uno que tenía una mano seca: y le preguntaron, diciendo: ¿Es lícito curar en sábado? por acusarle.
11Y él les dijo: ¿Qué hombre habrá de vosotros, que tenga una oveja, y si cayere ésta en una fosa en sábado, no le eche mano, y la levante?
12Pues ¿cuánto más vale un hombre que una oveja? Así que, lícito es en los sábados hacer bien.
13Entonces dijo á aquel hombre: Extiende tu mano. Y él la extendió, y fué restituída sana como la otra.
14Y salidos los Fariseos, consultaron contra él para destruirle.
15Mas sabiéndolo Jesús, se apartó de allí: y le siguieron muchas gentes, y sanaba á todos.
16Y él les encargaba eficazmente que no le descubriesen:
17Para que se cumpliese lo que estaba dicho por el profeta Isaías, que dijo:
18He aquí mi siervo, al cual he escogido; mi Amado, en el cual se agrada mi alma: pondré mi Espíritu sobre él, y á los Gentiles anunciará juicio.
19No contenderá, ni voceará: ni nadie oirá en las calles su voz.
20La caña cascada no quebrará, y el pábilo que humea no apagará, hasta que saque á victoria el juicio.
21Y en su nombre esperarán los Gentiles.
22Entonces fué traído á él un endemoniado, ciego y mudo, y le sanó; de tal manera, que el ciego y mudo hablaba y veía.
23Y todas las gentes estaban atónitas, y decían: ¿Será éste aquel Hijo de David?
24Mas los Fariseos, oyéndolo, decían: Este no echa fuera los demonios, sino por Beelzebub, príncipe de los demonios.
25Y Jesús, como sabía los pensamientos de ellos, les dijo: Todo reino dividido contra sí mismo, es desolado; y toda ciudad ó casa dividida contra sí misma, no permanecerá.
26Y si Satanás echa fuera á Satanás, contra sí mismo está dividido; ¿cómo, pues, permanecerá su reino?
27Y si yo por Beelzebub echo fuera los demonios, ¿vuestros hijos por quién los echan? Por tanto, ellos serán vuestros jueces.
28Y si por espíritu de Dios yo echo fuera los demonios, ciertamente ha llegado á vosotros el reino de Dios.
29Porque, ¿cómo puede alguno entrar en la casa del valiente, y saquear sus alhajas, si primero no prendiere al valiente? y entonces saqueará su casa.
30El que no es conmigo, contra mí es; y el que conmigo no recoge, derrama.
31Por tanto os digo: Todo pecado y blasfemia será perdonado á los hombres: mas la blasfemia contra el Espíritu no será perdonada á los hombres.
32Y cualquiera que hablare contra el Hijo del hombre, le será perdonado: mas cualquiera que hablare contra el Espíritu Santo, no le será perdonado, ni en este siglo, ni en el venidero.
33O haced el árbol bueno, y su fruto bueno, ó haced el árbol corrompido, y su fruto dañado; porque por el fruto es conocido el árbol.
34Generación de víboras, ¿cómo podéis hablar bien, siendo malos? porque de la abundancia del corazón habla la boca.
35El hombre bueno del buen tesoro del corazón saca buenas cosas: y el hombre malo del mal tesoro saca malas cosas.
36Mas yo os digo, que toda palabra ociosa que hablaren los hombres, de ella darán cuenta en el día del juicio.
37Porque por tus palabras serás justificado, y por tus palabras serás condenado.
38Entonces respondieron algunos de los escribas y de los Fariseos, diciendo: Maestro, deseamos ver de ti señal.
39Y él respondió, y les dijo: La generación mala y adulterina demanda señal; mas señal no le será dada, sino la señal de Jonás profeta.
40Porque como estuvo Jonás en el vientre de la ballena tres días y tres noches, así estará el Hijo del hombre en el corazón de la tierra tres días y tres noches.
41Los hombres de Nínive se levantarán en el juicio con esta generación, y la condenarán; porque ellos se arrepintieron á la predicación de Jonás; y he aquí más que Jonás en este lugar.
42La reina del Austro se levantará en el juicio con esta generación, y la condenará; porque vino de los fines de la tierra para oir la sabiduría de Salomón: y he aquí más que Salomón en este lugar.
43Cuando el espíritu inmundo ha salido del hombre, anda por lugares secos, buscando reposo, y no lo halla.
44Entonces dice: Me volveré á mi casa de donde salí: y cuando viene, la halla desocupada, barrida y adornada.
45Entonces va, y toma consigo otros siete espíritus peores que él, y entrados, moran allí; y son peores las cosas últimas del tal hombre que las primeras: así también acontecerá á esta generación mala.
46Y estando él aún hablando á las gentes, he aquí su madre y sus hermanos estaban fuera, que le querían hablar.
47Y le dijo uno: He aquí tu madre y tus hermanos están fuera, que te quieren hablar.
48Y respondiendo él al que le decía esto, dijo: ¿Quién es mi madre y quiénes son mis hermanos?
49Y extendiendo su mano hacia sus discípulos, dijo: He aquí mi madre y mis hermanos.
50Porque todo aquel que hiciere la voluntad de mi Padre que está en los cielos, ese es mi hermano, y hermana, y madre.

1At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.
2But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.
3But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
4How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
5Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
6But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
7But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
8For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
9And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:
10And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
11And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
12How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
13Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
14Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.
15But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
16And charged them that they should not make him known:
17That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
18Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
19He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
20A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
21And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
22Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
23And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
24But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
25And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
26And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
27And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
28But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
29Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
30He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
31Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
33Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
34O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
35A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
36But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
38Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
39But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
40For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
41The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
42The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
43When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
44Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
45Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
46While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
47Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
48But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
49And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
50For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

1At that time, Jesus went on the Sabbath day through the grain fields. His disciples were hungry and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat.
2But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said to him, “Behold, your disciples do what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.”
3But he said to them, “Haven’t you read what David did when he was hungry, and those who were with him:
4how he entered into God’s house and ate the show bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests?
5Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath day the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath and are guiltless?
6But I tell you that one greater than the temple is here.
7But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ you wouldn’t have condemned the guiltless.
8For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
9He departed from there and went into their synagogue.
10And behold, there was a man with a withered hand. They asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?” so that they might accuse him.
11He said to them, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if this one falls into a pit on the Sabbath day, won’t he grab on to it and lift it out?
12Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath day.”
13Then he told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out; and it was restored whole, just like the other.
14But the Pharisees went out and conspired against him, how they might destroy him.
15Jesus, perceiving that, withdrew from there. Great multitudes followed him; and he healed them all,
16and commanded them that they should not make him known,
17that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
18“Behold, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved in whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit on him. He will proclaim justice to the nations.
19He will not strive, nor shout, neither will anyone hear his voice in the streets.
20He won’t break a bruised reed. He won’t quench a smoking flax, until he leads justice to victory.
21In his name, the nations will hope.”
22Then one possessed by a demon, blind and mute, was brought to him; and he healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw.
23All the multitudes were amazed, and said, “Can this be the son of David?”
24But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “This man does not cast out demons except by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.”
25Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
26If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?
27If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
28But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then God’s Kingdom has come upon you.
29Or how can one enter into the house of the strong man and plunder his goods, unless he first bind the strong man? Then he will plunder his house.
30“He who is not with me is against me, and he who doesn’t gather with me, scatters.
31Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.
32Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age, or in that which is to come.
33“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by its fruit.

48But he answered him who spoke to him, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?”
49He stretched out his hand toward his disciples, and said, “Behold, my mother and my brothers!
50For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.”
