Cuando Jesús había terminado de instruir a Sus doce discípulos, Él se fue de allí para enseñar y predicar en sus ciudades.
Y FUÉ, que acabando Jesús de dar mandamientos á sus doce discípulos, se fué de allí á enseñar y á predicar en las ciudades de ellos.
And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.

Ahora cuando Juan escuchó en la prisión sobre los hechos del Cristo, él le envió un mensaje con sus discípulos
Y oyendo Juan en la prisión los hechos de Cristo, le envió dos de sus discípulos,
Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,

y Le dijo: "¿Eres Tú el que ha de venir, o es a otra persona que debemos esperar?"
Diciendo: ¿Eres tú aquél que había de venir, ó esperaremos á otro?
And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?
and said to him, “Are you he who comes, or should we look for another?”
Jesús respondió y les dijo: "Vayan e informen a Juan lo que ven y oyen.
Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Id, y haced saber á Juan las cosas que oís y veis:
Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:
Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
Los ciegos reciben la vista, los cojos caminan, los leprosos son limpiados, los sordos oyen, los muertos son vueltos a la vida y los menesterosos reciben las buenas nuevas.
Los ciegos ven, y los cojos andan; los leprosos son limpiados, y los sordos oyen; los muertos son resucitados, y á los pobres es anunciado el evangelio.
The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Y bendecido el que no encuentra ocasión de tropezar conmigo."

Cuando estos hombres se fueron por su camino, Jesús empezó a hablar a las multitudes sobre Juan: "¿Qué fueron a ver en el desierto - una caña sacudida por el viento?
E idos ellos, comenzó Jesús á decir de Juan á las gentes: ¿Qué salisteis á ver al desierto? ¿una caña que es meneada del viento?
And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
As these went their way, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
Pero, ¿qué fueron a ver - un hombre vestido en ropas suaves? En verdad, aquellos que visten ropas suaves viven en casas de reyes.
Mas ¿qué salisteis á ver? ¿un hombre cubierto de delicados vestidos? He aquí, los que traen vestidos delicados, en las casas de los reyes están.
But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses.
But what did you go out to see? A man in soft clothing? Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses.
Pero, ¿qué salieron a ver - a un profeta? Sí, les digo, y mucho más que un profeta.
Mas ¿qué salisteis á ver? ¿un profeta? También os digo, y más que profeta.
But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.
But why did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.
Este es aquél de quien se escribió: 'VEAN, YO LES ENVÍO MI MENSAJERO ANTE SU ROSTRO, QUIEN PREPARARÁ EL CAMINO PARA USTEDES.'
Porque éste es de quien está escrito: He aquí, yo envío mi mensajero delante de tu faz, que aparejará tu camino delante de ti.
For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

Les digo sinceramente, entre aquellos nacidos de mujer, ninguno es más grande que Juan el Bautista. Y aún así la persona menos importante en el reino de los cielos es más grande que él.
De cierto os digo, que no se levantó entre los que nacen de mujeres otro mayor que Juan el Bautista; mas el que es muy más pequeño en el reino de los cielos, mayor es que él.
Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
Most certainly I tell you, among those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptizer; yet he who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.
Desde los días de Juan el Bautista hasta ahora, el reino de los cielos sufre violencia, y los hombres violentos lo toman a la fuerza.
Desde los días de Juan el Bautista hasta ahora, al reino de los cielos se hace fuerza, y los valientes lo arrebatan.
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

Porque los profetas y la Ley han estado profetizando hasta Juan.

Y si ustedes están dispuestos a recibirlo, este es Elías, aquél que había de venir.

El que tenga oídos para escuchar, que escuche.
El que tiene oídos para oir, oiga.
He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

¿Con qué debo comparar a esta generación? Son como niños jugando en un mercado, que se sientan y se llaman unos a otros
Mas ¿á quién compararé esta generación? Es semejante á los muchachos que se sientan en las plazas, y dan voces á sus compañeros,
But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,
“But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call to their companions
y dicen: 'Nosotros tocamos la flauta para ustedes, y ustedes no bailaron. Estuvimos de luto, y ustedes no lloraron.'
Y dicen: Os tañimos flauta, y no bailasteis; os endechamos, y no lamentasteis.
And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.
and say, ‘We played the flute for you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned for you, and you didn’t lament.’
Porque Juan no vino comiendo pan, ni bebiendo vino, y ellos dicen: 'El tiene un demonio.'
Porque vino Juan, que ni comía ni bebía, y dicen: Demonio tiene.
For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.

El Hijo del Hombre vino comiendo y bebiendo y ellos dicen: '¡Miren, él es un hombre glotón y un borracho, amigo de los cobradores de impuestos y pecadores! Pero la sabiduría es justificada por sus acciones.'"
Vino el Hijo del hombre, que come y bebe, y dicen: He aquí un hombre comilón, y bebedor de vino, amigo de publicanos y de pecadores. Mas la sabiduría es justificada por sus hijos.
The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

Entonces Jesús empezó a reprender las ciudades en las que la mayor parte de sus hechos poderosos habían ocurrido, porque no se habían arrepentido.
Entonces comenzó á reconvenir á las ciudades en las cuales habían sido hechas muy muchas de sus maravillas, porque no se habían arrepentido, diciendo:
Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:
Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn’t repent.
"¡Pobre de ti, Corazin! ¡Pobre de ti, Betsaida! Porque si los hechos poderosos que se hicieron en ustedes hubiesen sido hechos en Tiro y Sidón, ellas se habrían arrepentido hace tiempo con ropas de saco y con cenizas.
¡Ay de ti, Corazín! ¡Ay de ti, Bethsaida! porque si en Tiro y en Sidón fueran hechas las maravillas que han sido hechas en vosotras, en otro tiempo se hubieran arrepentido en saco y en ceniza.
Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
Pero habrá más tolerancia para Tiro y Sidón en el día del juicio que para ustedes.
Por tanto os digo, que á Tiro y á Sidón será más tolerable el castigo en el día del juicio, que á vosotras.
But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.
But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.
Tú, Capernaúm, ¿crees que serás exaltada al cielo? No, tú serás llevada abajo al Hades; porque si en Sodoma se hubiesen hecho los hechos poderosos que se hicieron en ti, ella habría prevalecido hasta hoy.
Y tú, Capernaum, que eres levantada hasta el cielo, hasta los infiernos serás abajada; porque si en los de Sodoma fueran hechas las maravillas que han sido hechas en ti, hubieran quedado hasta el día de hoy.
And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, you will go down to Hades. For if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in you, it would have remained until today.
Pero les digo que será más fácil el día del juicio para Sodoma que para ti."
Por tanto os digo, que á la tierra de los de Sodoma será más tolerable el castigo en el día del juicio, que á ti.
But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.
But I tell you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom on the day of judgment, than for you.”
En ese tiempo Jesús dijo: "Yo te alabo, Padre, Señor del cielo y la tierra, porque Tú ocultaste estas cosas a los sabios y entendidos y se las revelaste a aquellos quienes no han sido enseñados, como los niños pequeños.
En aquel tiempo, respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Te alabo, Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, que hayas escondido estas cosas de los sabios y de los entendidos, y las hayas revelado á los niños.
At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
At that time, Jesus answered, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants.
Sí, Padre, porque así Le fue agradable a Tu vista.
Así, Padre, pues que así agradó en tus ojos.
Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.
Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.
Todas las cosas Me han sido confiadas por Mi Padre. Y nadie conoce al Hijo sino el Padre, y nadie conoce al Padre sino el Hijo, y cualquiera a quien el Hijo desee revelárselo.
Todas las cosas me son entregadas de mi Padre: y nadie conoció al Hijo, sino el Padre; ni al Padre conoció alguno, sino el Hijo, y aquel á quien el Hijo lo quisiere revelar.
All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.
Vengan a Mí, todos los que trabajan y están muy cargados, y Yo les daré descanso.
Venid á mí todos los que estáis trabajados y cargados, que yo os haré descansar.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
Lleven Mi yugo y aprendan de Mí, porque Yo soy manso y humilde de corazón, y ustedes encontrarán descanso para sus almas.
Llevad mi yugo sobre vosotros, y aprended de mí, que soy manso y humilde de corazón; y hallaréis descanso para vuestras almas.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.
Porque Mi yugo es fácil y Mi carga es liviana."
