Mateo 11

E Gesù avendo finito di dar questi insegnamenti a' suoi dodici discepoli, partì da quel luogo per andar a insegnare, e predicare nelle loro città.

Y FUÉ, que acabando Jesús de dar mandamientos á sus doce discípulos, se fué de allí á enseñar y á predicar en las ciudades de ellos.

And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.

When Jesus had finished directing his twelve disciples, he departed from there to teach and preach in their cities.

Ma avendo Giovanni udito nella prigione le opere di Gesù Cristo, mandò due de' suoi discepoli,

Y oyendo Juan en la prisión los hechos de Cristo, le envió dos de sus discípulos,

Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,

A dirgli: Se' tu quegli, che se' per venire, ovvero si ha da aspettare un altro?

Diciendo: ¿Eres tú aquél que había de venir, ó esperaremos á otro?

And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?

and said to him, “Are you he who comes, or should we look for another?”

E Gesù rispose loro: Andate, e riferite a Giovanni quel, che avete udito, e veduto.

Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Id, y haced saber á Juan las cosas que oís y veis:

Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:

Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:

I ciechi veggono, gli zoppi camminano, i lebbrosi sono mondati, i sordi odono, i morti risorgono, si annuncia a' poveri il Vangelo.

Los ciegos ven, y los cojos andan; los leprosos son limpiados, y los sordos oyen; los muertos son resucitados, y á los pobres es anunciado el evangelio.

The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Ed è beato chi non prenderà in me motivo di scandalo.

Y bienaventurado es el que no fuere escandalizado en mí.

And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”

Ma quando quegli furono partiti, cominciò Gesù a parlare di Giovanni alle turbe: Cosa siete voi andati a vedere nel deserto? una canna sbattuta dal vento?

E idos ellos, comenzó Jesús á decir de Juan á las gentes: ¿Qué salisteis á ver al desierto? ¿una caña que es meneada del viento?

And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

As these went their way, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

Ma pure, che siete voi andati a vedere? Un uomo vestilo delicatamente? Ecco, che coloro, che vestono delicatamente, stanno nei palazzi dei re.

Mas ¿qué salisteis á ver? ¿un hombre cubierto de delicados vestidos? He aquí, los que traen vestidos delicados, en las casas de los reyes están.

But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses.

But what did you go out to see? A man in soft clothing? Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses.

Ma pure, cosa siete andati a vedere? Un profeta? sì, vi dico io, anche più che profeta.

Mas ¿qué salisteis á ver? ¿un profeta? También os digo, y más que profeta.

But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.

But why did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.

Imperocché questi è colui, del quale sta scritto: Ecco, che io spedisco innanzi a te il mio Angelo, il quale preparerà la tua strada davanti a te.

Porque éste es de quien está escrito: He aquí, yo envío mi mensajero delante de tu faz, que aparejará tu camino delante de ti.

For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

For this is he, of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’

In verità io vi dico: Tra i nati di donna non venne al mondo chi sia maggiore di Giovanni Batista: ma quegli, che è minore nel regno de' cieli, o maggiore di lui.

De cierto os digo, que no se levantó entre los que nacen de mujeres otro mayor que Juan el Bautista; mas el que es muy más pequeño en el reino de los cielos, mayor es que él.

Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

Most certainly I tell you, among those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptizer; yet he who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.

Or dal tempo di Giovanni Batista insin adesso il regno de' cieli si acquista colla forza, ed è preda di coloro, che usano violenza.

Desde los días de Juan el Bautista hasta ahora, al reino de los cielos se hace fuerza, y los valientes lo arrebatan.

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

From the days of John the Baptizer until now, the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

Imperocché tutti i profeti, e la legge hanno profetato fino a Giovanni.

Porque todos los profetas y la ley hasta Juan profetizaron.

For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

E se voi volete capirla, egli è quell'Elia, che doveva venire.

Y si queréis recibir, él es aquel Elías que había de venir.

And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.

If you are willing to receive it, this is Elijah, who is to come.

Chi ha orecchio da intendere, intenda.

El que tiene oídos para oir, oiga.

He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

Ma a che cosa dirò io, che sia simile questa razza d'uomini? Ella è simile a que' ragazzi, che stanno a sedere nella piazza, e alzan la voce verso de' loro compagni,

Mas ¿á quién compararé esta generación? Es semejante á los muchachos que se sientan en las plazas, y dan voces á sus compañeros,

But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,

“But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call to their companions

E dicono: Abbiamo suonato, e voi non avete ballato: abbiamo cantato canzoni lugubri, e non, avete dato segno di dolore.

Y dicen: Os tañimos flauta, y no bailasteis; os endechamos, y no lamentasteis.

And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.

and say, ‘We played the flute for you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned for you, and you didn’t lament.’

Imperocché è venuto Giovanni, che non mangiava, nè beveva, e dicono: Egli è indemoniato.

Porque vino Juan, que ni comía ni bebía, y dicen: Demonio tiene.

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’

E venuto il figliuolo dell'uomo, che mangia, e beve, e dicono: Ecco un mangiatore, e un bevone, amico de'pubblicani, e de' peccatori: ed è stata giustificata la sapienza da' suoi figliuoli.

Vino el Hijo del hombre, que come y bebe, y dicen: He aquí un hombre comilón, y bebedor de vino, amigo de publicanos y de pecadores. Mas la sabiduría es justificada por sus hijos.

The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.”

Allora egli cominciò a rinfacciare alle città, nelle quali erano stati fatti da lui molti miracoli, che non avessero fatto penitenza.

Entonces comenzó á reconvenir á las ciudades en las cuales habían sido hechas muy muchas de sus maravillas, porque no se habían arrepentido, diciendo:

Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:

Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn’t repent.

Guai a te, o Corozain: guai a te, o Betsaida: perché se in Tiro, e Sidone fossero stati fatti que' miracoli, che presso di voi sono stati fatti, già da gran tempo avrebber fatto penitenza nella cenere, e nel cilicio.

¡Ay de ti, Corazín! ¡Ay de ti, Bethsaida! porque si en Tiro y en Sidón fueran hechas las maravillas que han sido hechas en vosotras, en otro tiempo se hubieran arrepentido en saco y en ceniza.

Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

Per questo io vi dico: Tiro, e Sidone saranno men rigorosamente di voi trattate nel dì del giudizio.

Por tanto os digo, que á Tiro y á Sidón será más tolerable el castigo en el día del juicio, que á vosotras.

But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.

E tu, Cafarnaum, ti alzerai tu fino al cielo? tu sarai depressa sino all'inferno: perché se in Sodoma fossero stati fatti i miracoli, che sono stati fatti presso di te, Sodoma forse sussisterebbe al dì d'oggi.

Y tú, Capernaum, que eres levantada hasta el cielo, hasta los infiernos serás abajada; porque si en los de Sodoma fueran hechas las maravillas que han sido hechas en ti, hubieran quedado hasta el día de hoy.

And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, you will go down to Hades. For if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in you, it would have remained until today.

Perciò io ti dico, che la terra di Sodoma sarà men rigorosamente di te trattata nel dì del giudizio.

Por tanto os digo, que á la tierra de los de Sodoma será más tolerable el castigo en el día del juicio, que á ti.

But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

But I tell you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom on the day of judgment, than for you.”

Allora prese Gesù a dire: Io ti ringrazio, o Padre, Signore del cielo, e della terra, perché hai tenute occulte queste cose ai saggi, e prudenti, e le hai rivelate ai piccolini.

En aquel tiempo, respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Te alabo, Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, que hayas escondido estas cosas de los sabios y de los entendidos, y las hayas revelado á los niños.

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

At that time, Jesus answered, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants.

Così è, o Padre; perché così a te piacque.

Así, Padre, pues que así agradó en tus ojos.

Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.

Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.

Tutte quante le cose sono state a me date dal Padre mio: e nissuno conosce il figliuolo fuori del Padre: e nissuno conosce il Padre fuori del figliuolo, e fuor di colui, cui avrà voluto il figliuolo farlo conoscere.

Todas las cosas me son entregadas de mi Padre: y nadie conoció al Hijo, sino el Padre; ni al Padre conoció alguno, sino el Hijo, y aquel á quien el Hijo lo quisiere revelar.

All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.

Venite da me tutti voi, che siete affaticati, e aggravati, e io vi ristorerò

Venid á mí todos los que estáis trabajados y cargados, que yo os haré descansar.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.

Prendete sopra di voi il mio giogo, e imparate da me, che son mansueto, e umile di cuore, e troverete riposo all'anime vostre.

Llevad mi yugo sobre vosotros, y aprended de mí, que soy manso y humilde de corazón; y hallaréis descanso para vuestras almas.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.

Imperocché soave è il mio giogo, e leggero il mio peso. Dell'osservanza del sabato. Dell’uomo, che aveva la mano inaridita. I Farisei macchinano la morte di Cristo. Guarigioni miracolose. Dell'indemoniato cieco, e mutolo. I Farisei convinti di bestemmia. Peccato contro lo spirito santo. Del segno di Giona. Madre, e fratelli di Cristo chi siano.

Porque mi yugo es fácil, y ligera mi carga.

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
