E convocati i dodici Apostoli, diede loro virtù, e potere sopra tutti i demoni, e di curare le malattie.

Y JUNTANDO á sus doce discípulos, les dió virtud y potestad sobre todos los demonios, y que sanasen enfermedades.

Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

E mandogli a predicare il regno di Dio, e a render agli infermi la sanità.

Y los envió á que predicasen el reino de Dios, y que sanasen á los enfermos.

E disse loro: Non porterete nulla pel viaggio, né bastone, né bisaccia, né pane, né denaro, né avrete due vestiti.

Y les dice: No toméis nada para el camino, ni báculo, ni alforja, ni pan, ni dinero; ni tengáis dos vestidos cada uno.

And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.

He said to them, “Take nothing for your journey—no staffs, nor wallet, nor bread, nor money. Don’t have two tunics each.

E in qualunque casa sarete entrati, ivi restate, e non la lasciate.

Y en cualquiera casa en que entrareis, quedad allí, y de allí salid.

And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart.

Into whatever house you enter, stay there, and depart from there.

E dovunque non vi ricevano: uscendo da quella città, scuotete anche la polvere de' vostri piedi in testimonianza contro di essi.

Y todos los que no os recibieren, saliéndoos de aquella ciudad, aun el polvo sacudid de vuestros pies en testimonio contra ellos.

And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

As many as don’t receive you, when you depart from that city, shake off even the dust from your feet for a testimony against them.”

Ed essi si partirono, a andavan girando di castello in castello, evangelizzando, e facendo guarigioni per ogni dove.

Y saliendo, rodeaban por todas las aldeas, anunciando el evangelio, y sanando por todas partes.

And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.

E giunse a notizia di Erode tetrarca tutto quel, che facevasi da Gesù, ed egli stava con l'animo sospeso, perché alcuni dicevano:

Y oyó Herodes el tetrarca todas las cosas que hacía; y estaba en duda, porque decían algunos: Juan ha resucitado de los muertos;

Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed, because that it was said of some, that John was risen from the dead;

Che Giovanni era risuscitato da morte: altri poi: Che era comparso Elia: altri: Che uno degli antichi profeti era risorto.

And of some, that Elias had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again.

Ed Erode diceva: A Giovanni feci io tagliare la testa. Ma chi è costui, del quale sento dire sì fatte cose? E cercava di vederlo.

Y dijo Herodes: A Juan yo degollé: ¿quién pues será éste, de quien yo oigo tales cosas? Y procuraba verle.

And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.

Herod said, “I beheaded John, but who is this about whom I hear such things?” He sought to see him.

E ritornati gli Apostoli, raccontarono a lui tutto quello, che avevano fatto: ed egli, presili seco, si ritirò a parte in un luogo deserto del territorio di Betsaida.

Y vueltos los apóstoles, le contaron todas las cosas que habían hecho. Y tomándolos, se retiró aparte á un lugar desierto de la ciudad que se llama Bethsaida.

And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.

La qual cosa risaputasi dalle turbe, gli tenner dietro: ed egli le accolse, e parlava loro del regno di Dio, e risanava quei, che ne avevan bisogno.

Y como lo entendieron las gentes, le siguieron; y él las recibió, y les hablaba del reino de Dios, y sanaba á los que tenían necesidad de cura.

And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.

But the multitudes, perceiving it, followed him. He welcomed them, spoke to them of God’s Kingdom, and he cured those who needed healing.

E il giorno principiava a declinare. E accostatisi a lui i dodici gli dissero: Licenzia le turbe, affinchè andando po' castelli, e pe' villaggi all'intorno, cerchino alloggio, e si trovino da mangiare: perché qui siamo in luogo deserto.

Y el día había comenzado á declinar; y llegándose los doce, le dijeron: Despide á las gentes, para que yendo á las aldeas y heredades de alrededor, procedan á alojarse y hallen viandas; porque aquí estamos en lugar desierto.

And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place.

The day began to wear away; and the twelve came and said to him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and farms and lodge and get food, for we are here in a deserted place.”

Ed egli disse loro: Date voi lor da mangiare. Ed essi risposero: Non abbiamo altro, che cinque pani, e due pesci: se per sorte non andiamo noi a comperare il vivere per tutta questa turba.

Y les dice: Dadles vosotros de comer. Y dijeron ellos: No tenemos más que cinco panes y dos pescados, si no vamos nosotros á comprar viandas para toda esta compañía.

But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people.

But he said to them, “You give them something to eat.” They said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we should go and buy food for all these people.”

Imperocché erano quasi cinque mila uomini. Ed egli disse a' suoi discepoli: Fateli sedere a truppe di cinquanta uomini l'una.

Y eran como cinco mil hombres. Entonces dijo á sus discípulos: Hacedlos sentar en ranchos, de cincuenta en cincuenta.

For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company.

E fecer così, e li fecero tutti sedere.

Y tomando los cinco panes y los dos pescados, mirando al cielo los bendijo, y partió, y dió á sus discípulos para que pusiesen delante de las gentes.

Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.

E mangiaron tutti, e si saziarono. E di quel, che loro avanzò, furono raccolti dodici panieri di frammenti.

Y comieron todos, y se hartaron; y alzaron lo que les sobró, doce cestos de pedazos.

And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.

They ate and were all filled. They gathered up twelve baskets of broken pieces that were left over.

E avvenne, che essendosi egli appartato per fare orazione, avendo seco i suoi discepoli, domandò loro: Chi dicon le turbe, ch'io mi sia?

Y aconteció que estando él solo orando, estaban con él los discípulos; y les preguntó diciendo: ¿Quién dicen las gentes que soy?

And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?

As he was praying alone, the disciples were near him, and he asked them, “Who do the multitudes say that I am?”

E quelli risposero, e dissero: Giovanni Batista: altri poi Elia: altri, che uno degli antichi profeti è risuscitato.

Y ellos respondieron, y dijeron: Juan el Bautista; y otros, Elías; y otros, que algún profeta de los antiguos ha resucitado.

They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again.

They answered, “‘John the Baptizer,’ but others say, ‘Elijah,’ and others, that one of the old prophets has risen again.”

Ed egli disse loro: E voi chi dite che io sia? Simon Pietro rispose, e disse: Il Cristo di Dio.

Y les dijo: ¿Y vosotros, quién decís que soy? Entonces respondiendo Simón Pedro, dijo: El Cristo de Dios.

He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.

He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “The Christ of God.”

Ma Gesù sgridandogli, comandò loro di non dir questo a nessuno.

Mas él, conminándolos, mandó que á nadie dijesen esto;

And he straitly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing;

But he warned them and commanded them to tell this to no one,

Dicendo: Fa d'uopo, che il figliuolo dell'uomo patisca molto, e sia riprovato dagli anziani, e dai principi de' sacerdoti, e dagli Scribi, e sia ucciso, e risusciti il terzo giorno.

Diciendo: Es necesario que el Hijo del hombre padezca muchas cosas, y sea desechado de los ancianos, y de los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y de los escribas, y que sea muerto, y resucite al tercer día.

Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.

saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.”

Diceva poi a tutti: Se alcuno vuole tenermi dietro, rinneghi se stesso, e prenda dì per dì la sua croce, e mi seguiti.

Y decía á todos: Si alguno quiere venir en pos de mí, niéguese á sí mismo, y tome su cruz cada día, y sígame.

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

He said to all, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

Imperocché chi vorrà salvare l'anima sua, la perderà: e chi perderà l'anima sua per causa mia, la salverà.

Porque cualquiera que quisiere salvar su vida, la perderá; y cualquiera que perdiere su vida por causa de mí, éste la salvará.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake will save it.

Imperocché che giova all'uomo il guadagnare tutto il mondo, ove perda se stesso, e di se faccia scapito?

Porque ¿qué aprovecha al hombre, si granjeare todo el mundo, y se pierda él á sí mismo, ó corra peligro de sí?

For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits his own self?

Imperocché chi si vergognerà di me, e delle mie parole: si vergognerà di lui il Figliuolo dell'uomo, quando verrà con la maestà sua, e del Padre, e de' santi Angeli.

Porque el que se avergonzare de mí y de mis palabras, de este tal el Hijo del hombre se avergonzará cuando viniere en su gloria, y del Padre, y de los santos ángeles.

For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.

For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels.

Vi dico però veracemente, che vi sono alcuni qui presenti, che non gusteranno la morte, fino a tanto che veggano il regno di Dio.

Y os digo en verdad, que hay algunos de los que están aquí, que no gustarán la muerte, hasta que vean el reino de Dios.

But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.

But I tell you the truth: There are some of those who stand here who will in no way taste of death until they see God’s Kingdom.”

E avvenne, che circa otto giorni dopo dette queste parole, prese seco Pietro, e Giacomo, e Giovanni, e sali sopra un monte per orare.

Y aconteció como ocho días después de estas palabras, que tomó á Pedro y á Juan y á Jacobo, y subió al monte á orar.

And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.

About eight days after these sayings, he took with him Peter, John, and James, and went up onto the mountain to pray.

E mentre era in orazione, l'aria del suo volto divenne tutt'altra: e il suo vestito divenne bianco, e risplendente.

Y entre tanto que oraba, la apariencia de su rostro se hizo otra, y su vestido blanco y resplandeciente.

And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.

As he was praying, the appearance of his face was altered, and his clothing became white and dazzling.

Ed ecco che due uomini parlavano con lui. E questi erano Mosè, ed Elia,

Y he aquí dos varones que hablaban con él, los cuales eran Moisés y Elías;

And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:

Behold, two men were talking with him, who were Moses and Elijah,

I quali apparsi con gloria discorrevano della sua partenza, la quale egli stava per eseguire in Gerusalemme.

Que aparecieron en majestad, y hablaban de su salida, la cual había de cumplir en Jerusalem.

Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.

who appeared in glory and spoke of his departure, which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.

Ma Pietro, e i suoi compagni erano aggravati dal sonno. Ma svegliatisi videro la maestà di lui, e i due personaggi, che stavano con esso.

Y Pedro y los que estaban con él, estaban cargados de sueño: y como despertaron, vieron su majestad, y á aquellos dos varones que estaban con él.

But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.

Now Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep, but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory, and the two men who stood with him.

E nel mentre, che questi si separavan da lui, Pietro disse a Gesù: Maestro, è buona cosa per noi lo star qui: facciamo tra padiglioni, uno per te, uno per Mosè, e uno per Elia: non sapendo egli quel che si dicesse.

Y aconteció, que apartándose ellos de él, Pedro dice á Jesús: Maestro, bien es que nos quedemos aquí: y hagamos tres pabellones, uno para ti, y uno para Moisés, y uno para Elías; no sabiendo lo que se decía.

And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.

As they were parting from him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let’s make three tents: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah,” not knowing what he said.

Ma nel tempo, ch'egli diceva questo, si levò una nuvola, dalla quale quelli furono involti: ed essi si intimorirono, quando quegli entrarono nella nuvola.

Y estando él hablando esto, vino una nube que los cubrió; y tuvieron temor, entrando ellos en la nube.

While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.

While he said these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered into the cloud.

E dalla nuvola usci una voce, che disse: Questi è il mio Figliuolo diletto, ascoltatelo.

Y vino una voz de la nube, que decía: Este es mi Hijo amado; á él oid.

And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

A voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him!”

E dopo quella voce Gesù rimase solo. Ed essi si tacquero, e non dissero in quella stagione a nissuno niente di quel, che avevano veduto.

Y pasada aquella voz, Jesús fué hallado solo: y ellos callaron; y por aquellos días no dijeron nada á nadie de lo que habían visto.

And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.

When the voice came, Jesus was found alone. They were silent, and told no one in those days any of the things which they had seen.

Il di seguente scesi che furono dal monte, si fece loro incontro una gran turba.

Y aconteció al día siguiente, que apartándose ellos del monte, gran compañía les salió al encuentro.

And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him.

On the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a great multitude met him.

E a un tratto un uomo di mezzo alla turba esclamò, dicendo: Maestro, di grazia volgi lo sguardo al mio figliuolo, che è l'unico, che io mi abbia:

Y he aquí, un hombre de la compañía clamó, diciendo: Maestro, ruégote que veas á mi hijo; que es el único que tengo:

And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child.

Behold, a man from the crowd called out, saying, “Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, for he is my only born child.

E dal vedere, al non vedere lo invade lo spirito, e di repente urla, e lo getta per terra, e lo sconvolge spumante, e appena da lui si ritira dopo di averlo tutto infranto:

Y he aquí un espíritu le toma, y de repente da voces; y le despedaza y hace echar espuma, y apenas se aparta de él quebrantándole.

And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him.

Behold, a spirit takes him, he suddenly cries out, and it convulses him so that he foams; and it hardly departs from him, bruising him severely.

E ho pregato i tuoi discepoli, che lo scacciassero, e non han potuto.

Y rogué á tus discípulos que le echasen fuera, y no pudieron.

And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and they could not.

I begged your disciples to cast it out, and they couldn’t.”

E Gesù rispose, e disse: O generazione infedele, e perversa fin a quando sarò a voi d'appresso, e vi sopporterò? Conduci qua il tuo figliuolo.

Y respondiendo Jesús, dice: ¡Oh generación infiel y perversa! ¿hasta cuándo tengo de estar con vosotros, y os sufriré? Trae tu hijo acá.

And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither.

Jesus answered, “Faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here.”

E mentre questo si avvicinava, il Demonio gettollo per terra, e lo straziava.

Y como aun se acercaba, el demonio le derribó y despedazó: mas Jesús increpó al espíritu inmundo, y sanó al muchacho, y se lo volvió á su padre.

And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.

While he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him violently. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.

Ma Gesù sgridò lo spirito immondo, e risanò il fanciullo, e lo rendette a suo padre.

Y todos estaban atónitos de la grandeza de Dios. Y maravillándose todos de todas las cosas que hacía, dijo á sus discípulos:

And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples,

They were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marveling at all the things which Jesus did, he said to his disciples,

E tutti restavano stupefatti della grandezza di Dio; e mentre tutti ammiravano tutte le cose, che egli faceva, disse a' suoi discepoli: Ponete in cuor vostro queste parole: Il Figliuolo dell'uomo sta per essere tradito nelle mani degli uomini.

Poned vosotros en vuestros oídos estas palabras; porque ha de acontecer que el Hijo del hombre será entregado en manos de hombres.

Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.

“Let these words sink into your ears, for the Son of Man will be delivered up into the hands of men.”

Ed essi non intendevano nulla di questo fatto, ed era oscuro per essi talmente, che non lo capivano: e non avevano ardire di interrogarlo sopra queste parole.

Mas ellos no entendían esta palabra, y les era encubierta para que no la entendiesen; y temían preguntarle de esta palabra.

But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.

But they didn’t understand this saying. It was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.

E vennero a disputare tra di loro, sopra chi fosse il maggiore.

Entonces entraron en disputa, cuál de ellos sería el mayor.

Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.

An argument arose among them about which of them was the greatest.

Ma Gesù vedendo i pensieri del loro cuore, prese per mano un fanciullo, e se lo pose accanto,

Mas Jesús, viendo los pensamientos del corazón de ellos, tomó un niño, y púsole junto á sí,

And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,

Jesus, perceiving the reasoning of their hearts, took a little child, and set him by his side,

E disse loro: Chiunque accoglierà un tal fanciullo nel nome mio, accoglie me: e chiunque accoglie me, accoglie colui, che mi ha mandato. Imperocché colui, che è il minimo tra tutti voi, quegli è il maggiore.

Y les dice: Cualquiera que recibiere este niño en mi nombre, á mí recibe; y cualquiera que me recibiere á mí, recibe al que me envió; porque el que fuere el menor entre todos vosotros, éste será el grande.

And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.

and said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in my name receives me. Whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For whoever is least among you all, this one will be great.”

E Giovanni prese a dirgli: Maestro, Abbiamo veduto un tale, che nel nome tuo cacciava i demon), e glielo abbiamo proibito: imperocché non segue (te) insieme con noi

Entonces respondiendo Juan, dijo: Maestro, hemos visto á uno que echaba fuera demonios en tu nombre; y se lo prohibimos, porque no sigue con nosotros.

And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.

John answered, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we forbade him, because he doesn’t follow with us.”

E Gesù dissegli: Non vogliate proibirglielo: imperocché chi non è contro di voi, è per voi.

Jesús le dijo: No se lo prohibáis; porque el que no es contra nosotros, por nosotros es.

And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.

Jesus said to him, “Don’t forbid him, for he who is not against us is for us.”

E avvenne, che approssimandosi il tempo della sua assunzione, ed egli si mostrò risoluto di andare a Gerusalemme.

Y aconteció que, como se cumplió el tiempo en que había de ser recibido arriba, él afirmó su rostro para ir á Jerusalem.

And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,

It came to pass, when the days were near that he should be taken up, he intently set his face to go to Jerusalem

E spedì avanti a se i suoi nunzj: e questi andarono, ed entrarono in una città de' Samaritani per preparargli l'ospizio.

Y envió mensajeros delante de sí, los cuales fueron y entraron en una ciudad de los Samaritanos, para prevenirle.

And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.

and sent messengers before his face. They went and entered into a village of the Samaritans, so as to prepare for him.

Ma non vollero riceverlo, perché dava a conoscere, che andava a Gerusalemme.

Mas no le recibieron, porque era su traza de ir á Jerusalem.

And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.

They didn’t receive him, because he was traveling with his face set toward Jerusalem.

E veduto ciò i discepoli di lui, Giacomo, e Giovanni dissero: Signore, vuoi tu, che noi comandiamo, che piova fiamma dal cielo, e li divori?

Y viendo esto sus discípulos Jacobo y Juan, dijeron: Señor, ¿quieres que mandemos que descienda fuego del cielo, y los consuma, como hizo Elías?

And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?

When his disciples, James and John, saw this, they said, “Lord, do you want us to command fire to come down from the sky and destroy them, just as Elijah did?”

Il Figliuolo dell'uomo non è venuto per isperdere gli uomini, ma per salvarli. E andarono a un altro borgo.

Porque el Hijo del hombre no ha venido para perder las almas de los hombres, sino para salvarlas. Y se fueron á otra aldea.

For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.

For the Son of Man didn’t come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them.” They went to another village.

E avvenne, che mentre facevan sua strada, vi fu uno, che dissegli: Verrò teco, dovunque tu vada.

Y aconteció que yendo ellos, uno le dijo en el camino: Señor, te seguiré donde quiera que fueres.

And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

As they went on the way, a certain man said to him, “I want to follow you wherever you go, Lord.”

E Gesù gli rispose: Le volpi hanno le tane, e gli uccelli dell'aria i nidi: ma il Figliuol dell'Uomo non ha dove posare la testa.

Y le dijo Jesús: Las zorras tienen cuevas, y las aves de los cielos nidos; mas el Hijo del hombre no tiene donde recline la cabeza.

And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

Disse poi a un altro: Seguimi: ma questi rispose: Signore, permettimi, che prima io vada, e seppellisca mio padre.

Y dijo á otro: Sígueme. Y él dijo: Señor, déjame que primero vaya y entierre á mi padre.

And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

He said to another, “Follow me!” But he said, “Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.”

Ma Gesù gli rispose: Lascia, che i morti seppelliscano i loro morti: ma tu va, e annuncia il regno di Dio.

Y Jesús le dijo: Deja los muertos que entierren á sus muertos; y tú, ve, y anuncia el reino de Dios.

Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

But Jesus said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead, but you go and announce God’s Kingdom.”

E un altro gli disse: Signore, io ti seguirò; ma permetti, che prima io vada a dire addio a que' di mia casa.

Entonces también dijo otro: Te seguiré, Señor; mas déjame que me despida primero de los que están en mi casa.

And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.

Another also said, “I want to follow you, Lord, but first allow me to say good-bye to those who are at my house.”

E Gesù rispostigli: Nissuno, che dopo aver messa la mano all'aratro volga indietro lo sguardo, è buono pel regno di Dio. Manda avanti i settantadue a ogni città dopo aver loro insegnato quel, che hanno da osservare nella predicazione: e rallegrandosi questi di vedere a se soggetti i demoni, dice, che non debbon principalmente per questo rallegrarsi. Minacce contro le ostinate citte, nelle quali erano stati fatti molti miracoli. Esultando in ispirito loda il Padre. A un dottor della legge, che lo tentava, recitato il comandamento dell'amor di Dio, e del prossimo, dimostra con la parabola dell'uomo, che veniva da Gerusalemme, chi sia il prossimo. A Marta, che lo serviva, e si lamentava della sorella, dice, che Maria ha eletta l'ottima parte.

Y Jesús le dijo: Ninguno que poniendo su mano al arado mira atrás, es apto para el reino de Dios.

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for God’s Kingdom.”
