Lucas 7

Después que Jesús terminó todo lo que estaba diciéndole a la gente, entró a Capernaúm.

Y COMO acabó todas sus palabras oyéndole el pueblo, entró en Capernaum.

Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.

After he had finished speaking in the hearing of the people, he entered into Capernaum.

Ahora un centurión tenía un esclavo, quien era altamente preciado para él, estaba enfermo y a punto de morir.

Y el siervo de un centurión, al cual tenía él en estima, estaba enfermo y á punto de morir.

And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.

A certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick and at the point of death.

Cuando el centurión escuchó acerca de Jesús, envió ancianos de los judíos, pidiéndole que viniera y sanara a su esclavo.

Y como oyó hablar de Jesús, envió á él los ancianos de los Judíos, rogándole que viniese y librase á su siervo.

And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.

When he heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, asking him to come and save his servant.

Cuando ellos vinieron a Jesús, le pidieron encarecidamente, diciendo: "Él es digno de que hagas esto por él,

Y viniendo ellos á Jesús, rogáronle con diligencia, diciéndole: Porque es digno de concederle esto;

And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:

When they came to Jesus, they begged him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy for you to do this for him,

porque él ama a nuestra nación y es el que construyó la sinagoga para nosotros."

Que ama nuestra nación, y él nos edificó una sinagoga.

For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.

for he loves our nation, and he built our synagogue for us.”

Así que Jesús continuó su camino con ellos. Pero cuando Él no estaba lejos de la casa, el centurión envió amistades para decirle: "Señor, no te molestes, porque no soy digno de que entres bajo mi techo.

Y Jesús fué con ellos. Mas como ya no estuviesen lejos de su casa, envió el centurión amigos á él, diciéndole: Señor, no te incomodes, que no soy digno que entres debajo de mi tejado;

Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

Jesus went with them. When he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying to him, “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I am not worthy for you to come under my roof.

Por esta razón ni siquiera me consideré digno de venir a ti, pero sólo di una palabra y mi sirviente será sanado.

Por lo cual ni aun me tuve por digno de venir á ti; mas di la palabra, y mi siervo será sano.

Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

Therefore I didn’t even think myself worthy to come to you; but say the word, and my servant will be healed.

Pues yo también soy un hombre quien está bajo autoridad, con soldados bajo mi mando. Le digo a este: "Ve", y él va, y a otro, "Ven", y él viene, y a mi sirviente, "Haz esto," y él lo hace."

Porque también yo soy hombre puesto en potestad, que tengo debajo de mí soldados; y digo á éste: Ve, y va; y al otro: Ven, y viene; y á mi siervo: Haz esto, y lo hace.

For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

For I also am a man placed under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

Cuando Jesús escuchó esto, estaba asombrado de él y tornándose a la multitud que le seguía dijo: "Le digo a ustedes, ni siquiera en Israel he hallado tal fe."

Lo cual oyendo Jesús, se maravilló de él, y vuelto, dijo á las gentes que le seguían: Os digo que ni aun en Israel he hallado tanta fe.

When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turned and said to the multitude who followed him, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel.”

Y cuando aquellos que fueron enviados retornaron a la casa, ellos encontraron al sirviente sano.

Y vueltos á casa los que habían sido enviados, hallaron sano al siervo que había estado enfermo.

And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

Those who were sent, returning to the house, found that the servant who had been sick was well.

Algún tiempo luego de eso Jesús fue a un pueblo llamado Naín, y sus discípulos y una gran multitud fue con Él.

Y aconteció después, que él iba á la ciudad que se llama Naín, é iban con él muchos de sus discípulos, y gran compañía.

And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.

Soon afterwards, he went to a city called Nain. Many of his disciples, along with a great multitude, went with him.

Según Él venía cerca de la puerta del pueblo, he aquí, un hombre que había muerto era cargado, el único hijo de su madre (quien era una viuda), y una multitud de gran tamaño del pueblo estaba con ella.

Y como llegó cerca de la puerta de la ciudad, he aquí que sacaban fuera á un difunto, unigénito de su madre, la cual también era viuda: y había con ella grande compañía de la ciudad.

Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

Now when he came near to the gate of the city, behold, one who was dead was carried out, the only born son of his mother, and she was a widow. Many people of the city were with her.

Cuando el Señor la vio, fue profundamente movido a compasión por ella y le dijo: "No llores."

Y como el Señor la vió, compadecióse de ella, y le dice: No llores.

And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, “Don’t cry.”

Entonces Él subió y tocó el marco de madera en el cual cargaban el cuerpo, y aquellos que lo cargaban se quedaron quietos. Él dijo: "Joven, a ti te digo, levántate."

Y acercándose, tocó el féretro: y los que lo llevaban, pararon. Y dice: Mancebo, á ti digo, levántate.

And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

He came near and touched the coffin, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I tell you, arise!”

El hombre muerto se sentó y comenzó a hablar y Jesús lo entregó a su madre.

Entonces se incorporó el que había muerto, y comenzó á hablar. Y dióle á su madre.

And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

He who was dead sat up and began to speak. Then he gave him to his mother.

Entonces el temor sobrevino a todos ellos, y continuaron alabando a Dios, diciendo: "Un gran profeta se ha levantado entre nosotros", y "Dios ha cuidado a Su gente."

Y todos tuvieron miedo, y glorificaban á Dios, diciendo: Que un gran profeta se ha levantado entre nosotros; y que Dios ha visitado á su pueblo.

And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

Fear took hold of all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has arisen among us!” and, “God has visited his people!”

Esta noticia acerca de Jesús se esparció a través de todo Judea y todas las regiones vecinas.

Y salió esta fama de él por toda Judea, y por toda la tierra de alrededor.

And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judæa, and throughout all the region round about.

This report went out concerning him in the whole of Judea and in all the surrounding region.

Los discípulos de Juan le dijeron a él sobre todas estas cosas.

Y sus discípulos dieron á Juan las nuevas de todas estas cosas: y llamó Juan á dos de sus discípulos,

And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.

The disciples of John told him about all these things.

Entonces Juan llamó dos de sus discípulos y los envió al Señor para decir: "¿Eres tú el que habrá de venir, o hay algún otro que deberíamos estar esperando?"

Y envió á Jesús, diciendo: ¿Eres tú aquél que había de venir, ó esperaremos á otro?

And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

John, calling to himself two of his disciples, sent them to Jesus, saying, “Are you the one who is coming, or should we look for another?”

Cuando ellos se habían acercado a Jesús, los hombres dijeron: "Juan el Bautista nos ha enviado para decirte: "¿Eres tú el que habrá de venir o debemos esperar a otro? ´"

Y como los hombres vinieron á él, dijeron: Juan el Bautista nos ha enviado á ti, diciendo: ¿Eres tú aquél que había de venir, ó esperaremos á otro?

When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

When the men had come to him, they said, “John the Baptizer has sent us to you, saying, ‘Are you he who comes, or should we look for another?’”

En esa hora Él sanó a mucha gente de enfermedades y aflicciones y de espíritus malignos, y a muchas personas ciegas le dio la vista.

Y en la misma hora sanó á muchos de enfermedades y plagas, y de espíritus malos; y á muchos ciegos dió la vista.

And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

In that hour he cured many of diseases and plagues and evil spirits; and to many who were blind he gave sight.

Jesús contestó y les dijo: "Después de haber seguido su camino, infórmenle a Juan lo que han visto y oído. Gente ciega está recibiendo la vista, gente coja está caminando, leprosos están siendo limpiados, gente sorda está escuchando, gente muerta está siendo regresada a la vida, y gente necesitada se les está diciendo las buenas nuevas.

Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Id, dad las nuevas á Juan de lo que habéis visto y oído: que los ciegos ven, los cojos andan, los leprosos son limpiados, los sordos oyen, los muertos resucitan, á los pobres es anunciado el evangelio:

Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John the things which you have seen and heard: that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.

La persona que no deja de creer en mí debido a mis acciones, es bendecida."

Y bienaventurado es el que no fuere escandalizado en mí.

And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”

Después que los mensajeros de Juan se habían ido, Jesús comenzó a decir a las multitudes acerca de Juan: "¿Qué ustedes salieron a ver al desierto? ¿Una caña sacudida por el viento?

Y como se fueron los mensajeros de Juan, comenzó á hablar de Juan á las gentes: ¿Qué salisteis á ver al desierto? ¿una caña que es agitada por el viento?

And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

When John’s messengers had departed, he began to tell the multitudes about John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

Pero, ¿qué salieron a ver? ¿Un hombre vestido de vestiduras suaves? Miren, esos que visten con ropas espléndidas y viven en lujos, están en los palacios de reyes.

Mas ¿qué salisteis á ver? ¿un hombre cubierto de vestidos delicados? He aquí, los que están en vestido precioso, y viven en delicias, en los palacios de los reyes están.

But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings’ courts.

But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft clothing? Behold, those who are gorgeously dressed and live delicately are in kings’ courts.

Pero, ¿qué ustedes salieron a ver? ¿Un profeta? Sí, Yo les digo, y mucho más que un profeta.

Mas ¿qué salisteis á ver? ¿un profeta? También os digo, y aun más que profeta.

But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.

But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.

Este es de quien se ha escrito: 'VES, ESTOY ENVIANDO A MI MENSAJERO ANTE TU ROSTRO, QUIEN HA DE PREPARAR TU CAMINO DELANTE DE TI.'

Este es de quien está escrito: He aquí, envío mi mensajero delante de tu faz, el cual aparejará tu camino delante de ti.

This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

This is he of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’

Te digo, entre aquellos nacidos de mujer, ninguno es más grande que Juan. Todavía la persona menos importante en el reino de Dios, es mayor que él."

Porque os digo que entre los nacidos de mujeres, no hay mayor profeta que Juan el Bautista: mas el más pequeño en el reino de los cielos es mayor que él.

For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

“For I tell you, among those who are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptizer; yet he who is least in God’s Kingdom is greater than he.”

Cuando toda la gente escuchó esto, incluyendo a los recaudadores de impuestos, declararon que Dios es justo, habiendo sido bautizados con el bautismo de Juan.

Y todo el pueblo oyéndole, y los publicanos, justificaron á Dios, bautizándose con el bautismo de Juan.

And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

When all the people and the tax collectors heard this, they declared God to be just, having been baptized with John’s baptism.

Pero los fariseos y los expertos en la ley judía, rechazaron el propósito de Dios para sí mismos, porque ellos no habían sido bautizados por Juan.

Mas los Fariseos y los sabios de la ley, desecharon el consejo de Dios contra sí mismos, no siendo bautizados de él.

But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.

But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the counsel of God, not being baptized by him themselves.

"¿A qué entonces, puedo yo comparar a la gente de esta generación? ¿Cómo son ellos?

Y dice el Señor: ¿A quién, pues, compararé los hombres de esta generación, y á qué son semejantes?

And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?

“To what then should I compare the people of this generation? What are they like?

Ellos son como niños jugando en el mercado, que se sientan y se llaman el uno al otro y dicen: "Nosotros tocamos una flauta para ustedes, y ustedes no bailaron. Nosotros cantamos una canción fúnebre, y ustedes no lloraron."

Semejantes son á los muchachos sentados en la plaza, y que dan voces los unos á los otros, y dicen: Os tañimos con flautas, y no bailasteis: os endechamos, y no llorasteis.

They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.

They are like children who sit in the marketplace and call to one another, saying, ‘We piped to you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned, and you didn’t weep.’

Pues Juan el Bautista no llegó comiendo pan ni bebiendo vino, y ustedes dicen: "Él tiene un demonio."

Porque vino Juan el Bautista, que ni comía pan, ni bebía vino, y decís: Demonio tiene.

For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.

For John the Baptizer came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’

El Hijo del Hombre llegó comiendo y tomando y ustedes dicen: "¡Mira, Él es un hombre glotón y un borracho, un amigo de los recaudadores de impuestos y pecadores!

Vino el Hijo del hombre, que come y bebe, y decís: He aquí un hombre comilón, y bebedor de vino, amigo de publicanos y de pecadores.

The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Behold, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’

Pero la sabiduría es justificada por todos sus hijos."

Mas la sabiduría es justificada de todos sus hijos.

But wisdom is justified of all her children.

Wisdom is justified by all her children.”

Ahora, uno de los fariseos invitó a Jesús a comer con él. Así que después que Jesús entró a la casa del fariseo, se reclinó en la mesa a comer.

Y le rogó uno de los Fariseos, que comiese con él. Y entrado en casa del Fariseo, sentóse á la mesa.

And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to meat.

One of the Pharisees invited him to eat with him. He entered into the Pharisee’s house and sat at the table.

He aquí, había una mujer en la ciudad que era una pecadora. Cuando ella supo que Él estaba reclinado en la mesa de la casa del fariseo, ella trajo un jarro de alabastro con aceite perfumado.

Y he aquí una mujer que había sido pecadora en la ciudad, como entendió que estaba á la mesa en casa de aquel Fariseo, trajo un alabastro de ungüento,

And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,

Behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that he was reclining in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster jar of ointment.

Mientras ella se paró detrás de Él cerca de sus pies, llorando, comenzó a mojar sus pies con sus lágrimas, y los secó con los cabellos de su cabeza y besó sus pies, y los ungió con aceite perfumado.

Y estando detrás á sus pies, comenzó llorando á regar con lágrimas sus pies, y los limpiaba con los cabellos de su cabeza; y besaba sus pies, y los ungía con el ungüento.

And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

Standing behind at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears, and she wiped them with the hair of her head, kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

Cuando el fariseo que había invitado a Jesús vio esto, él pensó para sí mismo, diciendo: "Si este hombre fuese un profeta, entonces Él sabría quién y qué tipo de mujer está tocándolo, sabría que ella es una pecadora."

Y como vió esto el Fariseo que le había convidado, habló entre sí, diciendo: Este, si fuera profeta, conocería quién y cuál es la mujer que le toca, que es pecadora.

Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he said to himself, “This man, if he were a prophet, would have perceived who and what kind of woman this is who touches him, that she is a sinner.”

Jesús respondió y le dijo: "Simón, tengo algo que decirte." Él dijo, "¡Dilo, Maestro!"

Entonces respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Simón, una cosa tengo que decirte. Y él dice: Di, Maestro.

And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.

Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.” He said, “Teacher, say on.”

Jesús dijo: "Cierto prestamista tenía dos deudores. Uno debía quinientos denarios y el otro cincuenta.

Un acreedor tenía dos deudores: el uno le debía quinientos denarios, y el otro cincuenta;

There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.

“A certain lender had two debtors. The one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.

Cuando ellos no pudieron pagarle, él los perdonó a ambos. Así que, ¿cuál de ellos lo amará más?"

Y no teniendo ellos de qué pagar, perdonó á ambos. Di, pues, ¿cuál de éstos le amará más?

And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

When they couldn’t pay, he forgave them both. Which of them therefore will love him most?”

Simón le respondió y dijo: "Yo supongo que al que él le perdonó más." Jesús dijo: "Tú has juzgado correctamente."

Y respondiendo Simón, dijo: Pienso que aquél al cual perdonó más. Y él le dijo: Rectamente has juzgado.

Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

Simon answered, “He, I suppose, to whom he forgave the most.” He said to him, “You have judged correctly.”

Jesús se volvió a la mujer y le dijo a Simón: "Ves a esta mujer. Yo he entrado a tu casa. Tú no me distes agua para mis pies, pero ella con sus lágrimas ha mojado mis pies y los limpió con sus cabellos.

Y vuelto á la mujer, dijo á Simón: ¿Ves esta mujer? Entré en tu casa, no diste agua para mis pies; mas ésta ha regado mis pies con lágrimas, y los ha limpiado con los cabellos.

And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.

Turning to the woman, he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered into your house, and you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head.

Tú no me diste un beso, pero desde que llegué, ella no ha cesado de besar mis pies."

No me diste beso, mas ésta, desde que entré, no ha cesado de besar mis pies.

Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.

You gave me no kiss, but she, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss my feet.

"Tú no ungiste mi cabeza con aceite, pero ella ha ungido mis pies con aceite perfumado.

No ungiste mi cabeza con óleo; mas ésta ha ungido con ungüento mis pies.

My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.

You didn’t anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment.

Por tanto te digo, sus pecados, que eran muchos, han sido perdonados, pues ella amó mucho. Pero a quien poco se le perdona, ama poco."

Por lo cual te digo que sus muchos pecados son perdonados, porque amó mucho; mas al que se perdona poco, poco ama.

Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But one to whom little is forgiven, loves little.”

Luego él le dijo a ella: "Tus pecados son perdonados."

Y á ella dijo: Los pecados te son perdonados.

And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.

He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”

Aquellos reclinándose juntos comenzaron a decirse entre sí: "¿Quién es Este que aun perdona pecados?"

Y los que estaban juntamente sentados á la mesa, comenzaron á decir entre sí: ¿Quién es éste, que también perdona pecados?

And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?

Those who sat at the table with him began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”

Entonces Jesús dijo a la mujer: "Tu fe te ha salvado. Ve en paz."

Y dijo á la mujer: Tu fe te ha salvado, ve en paz.

And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
