1Jesus kehrte dann, voll heiligen Geistes, vom Jordan zurück und wurde vom Geist vierzig Tage lang in der Wüste (umher) geführt
2und dabei vom Teufel versucht. Er aß in diesen Tagen nichts, so daß ihn hungerte, als sie zu Ende waren.
3Da sagte der Teufel zu ihm: »Bist du Gottes Sohn, so gebiete diesem Steine hier, er solle zu Brot werden!«
4Doch Jesus antwortete ihm: »Es steht geschrieben: ›Nicht vom Brot allein wird der Mensch leben!‹«
5Hierauf führte ihn der Teufel in die Höhe, zeigte ihm in einem Augenblick alle Reiche des Erdkreises
6und sagte zu ihm: »Dir will ich diese ganze Macht und ihre Herrlichkeit geben; denn mir ist sie übergeben, und ich kann sie geben, wem ich will.
7Wenn du also vor mir (niederfällst und mich) anbetest, so soll sie ganz dir gehören.«
8Da gab ihm Jesus zur Antwort: »Es steht geschrieben: ›Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, anbeten und ihm allein dienen!‹«
9Hierauf führte der Teufel ihn nach Jerusalem, stellte ihn auf die Zinne des Tempels und sagte zu ihm: »Bist du Gottes Sohn, so stürze dich von hier hinab!
10Denn es steht geschrieben: ›Er wird seine Engel für dich entbieten, daß sie dich behüten,
11und sie werden dich auf den Armen tragen, damit du mit deinem Fuß an keinen Stein stoßest.‹«
12Da antwortete ihm Jesus: »Es ist gesagt: ›Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, nicht versuchen!«
13Als der Teufel nun mit allen Versuchungen zu Ende war, ließ er von ihm ab bis zu einer gelegenen Zeit.
14Jesus kehrte dann in der Kraft des Geistes nach Galiläa zurück, und die Kunde von ihm verbreitete sich in der ganzen Umgegend.
15Er lehrte in ihren Synagogen und wurde (wegen seiner Lehre) von allen gepriesen.
16So kam er denn auch nach Nazareth, wo er aufgewachsen war, ging dort nach seiner Gewohnheit am nächsten Sabbattage in die Synagoge und stand auf, um vorzulesen.
17Da reichte man ihm das Buch des Propheten Jesaja; und als er das Buch aufrollte, traf er auf die Stelle, wo geschrieben steht:
18»Der Geist des Herrn ist über mir, weil er mich gesalbt hat, damit ich den Armen die frohe Botschaft bringe; er hat mich gesandt, um den Gefangenen die Freilassung und den Blinden die Verleihung des Augenlichts zu verkünden, die Unterdrückten in Freiheit zu entlassen,
19ein Gnadenjahr des Herrn auszurufen.«
20Nachdem er dann das Buch wieder zusammengerollt und es dem Diener zurückgegeben hatte, setzte er sich, und aller Augen in der Synagoge waren gespannt auf ihn gerichtet.
21Da begann er seine Ansprache an sie mit den Worten: »Heute ist dieses Schriftwort, das ihr soeben vernommen habt, zur Erfüllung gekommen!«
22Und alle stimmten ihm zu und staunten über die Worte der Gnade, die aus seinem Munde kamen, und sagten: »Ist dieser nicht der Sohn Josephs?«
23Da antwortete er ihnen: »Jedenfalls werdet ihr mir das Sprichwort vorhalten: ›Arzt, mache dich selber gesund!‹ Alle die großen Taten, die (von dir), wie wir gehört haben, in Kapernaum vollbracht worden sind, die vollführe auch hier in deiner Vaterstadt!«
24Er fuhr dann aber fort: »Wahrlich ich sage euch: Kein Prophet ist in seiner Vaterstadt willkommen.
25In Wahrheit aber sage ich euch: Viele Witwen gab es in Israel in den Tagen Elias, als der Himmel drei Jahre und sechs Monate lang verschlossen blieb, so daß eine große Hungersnot über die ganze Erde kam;
26und doch wurde Elia zu keiner einzigen von ihnen gesandt, sondern nur nach Sarepta im Gebiet von Sidon zu einer Witwe.
27Und viele Aussätzige gab es in Israel zur Zeit des Propheten Elisa, und doch wurde kein einziger von ihnen gereinigt, sondern nur der Syrer Naeman.«
28Als sie das hörten, gerieten alle, die in der Synagoge anwesend waren, in heftigen Zorn:
29sie standen auf, stießen ihn aus der Stadt hinaus und führten ihn an den Rand des Berges, auf dem ihre Stadt erbaut war, um ihn dort hinabzustürzen.
30Er ging aber mitten durch sie hindurch und wanderte weiter.
31Er begab sich dann nach der galiläischen Stadt Kapernaum hinab und lehrte sie dort am Sabbat.
32Da gerieten sie über seine Lehre in Staunen, denn seine Rede beruhte auf (göttlicher) Vollmacht.
33Nun war da in der Synagoge ein Mann, der von einem unreinen Geiste besessen war; der schrie laut auf:
34»Ha! Was willst du von uns, Jesus von Nazareth? Du bist gekommen, um uns zu vernichten! Ich weiß wohl, wer du bist: der Heilige Gottes!«
35Jesus bedrohte ihn mit den Worten: »Verstumme und fahre von ihm aus!« Da warf der böse Geist den Mann mitten unter sie zu Boden und fuhr von ihm aus, ohne ihm irgendwelchen Schaden zuzufügen.
36Da gerieten sie alle in Staunen; sie besprachen sich miteinander und sagten: »Was ist das für ein Machtwort? Mit (göttlicher) Vollmacht und Kraft gebietet er den unreinen Geistern, und sie fahren aus!«
37Und die Kunde von ihm verbreitete sich in alle Orte der Umgegend.
38Nachdem er dann die Synagoge verlassen hatte, begab er sich in das Haus Simons. Dort war die Schwiegermutter Simons von hohem Fieber befallen, und man wandte sich ihretwegen an ihn.
39Er trat also zu ihr, beugte sich über sie und bedrohte das Fieber: da wich es von ihr; sie stand sogleich vom Lager auf und bediente sie (bei der Mahlzeit).
40Als dann die Sonne unterging, brachten alle, welche Kranke mit mancherlei Leiden hatten, sie zu ihm; er aber legte einem jeden von ihnen die Hände auf und heilte sie.
41Auch böse Geister fuhren von vielen aus, wobei sie laut schrien und ausriefen: »Du bist der Sohn Gottes!« Er bedrohte sie jedoch und ließ sie nicht zu Worte kommen; denn sie wußten, daß er Christus war.
42Bei Tagesanbruch aber entwich er von dort und begab sich an einen einsamen Ort; doch die Volksmenge suchte nach ihm und kam zu ihm hin und wollte ihn zurückhalten, damit er nicht von ihnen wegginge.
43Er aber sagte zu ihnen: »Ich muß auch den anderen Städten die Heilsbotschaft vom Reiche Gottes verkünden, denn dazu bin ich gesandt.«
44So predigte er denn in den Synagogen des jüdischen Landes.

1Y JESÚS, lleno del Espíritu Santo, volvió del Jordán, y fué llevado por el Espíritu al desierto
2Por cuarenta días, y era tentado del diablo. Y no comió cosa en aquellos días: los cuales pasados, tuvo hambre.
3Entonces el diablo le dijo: Si eres Hijo de Dios, di á esta piedra que se haga pan.
4Y Jesús respondiéndole, dijo: Escrito está: Que no con pan solo vivirá el hombre, mas con toda palabra de Dios.
5Y le llevó el diablo á un alto monte, y le mostró en un momento de tiempo todos los reinos de la tierra.
6Y le dijo el diablo: A ti te daré toda esta potestad, y la gloria de ellos; porque á mí es entregada, y á quien quiero la doy:
7Pues si tú adorares delante de mí, serán todos tuyos.
8Y respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Vete de mí, Satanás, porque escrito está: A tu Señor Dios adorarás, y á él solo servirás.
9Y le llevó á Jerusalem, y púsole sobre las almenas del templo, y le dijo: Si eres Hijo de Dios, échate de aquí abajo:
10Porque escrito está: Que á sus ángeles mandará de ti, que te guarden;
11Y en las manos te llevarán, porque no dañes tu pie en piedra.
12Y respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Dicho está: No tentarás al Señor tu Dios.
13Y acabada toda tentación, el diablo se fué de él por un tiempo.
14Y Jesús volvió en virtud del Espíritu á Galilea, y salió la fama de él por toda la tierra de alrededor.
15Y enseñaba en las sinagogas de ellos, y era glorificado de todos.
16Y vino á Nazaret, donde había sido criado; y entró, conforme á su costumbre, el día del sábado en la sinagoga, y se levantó á leer.
17Y fuéle dado el libro del profeta Isaías; y como abrió el libro, halló el lugar donde estaba escrito:
18El Espíritu del Señor es sobre mí, por cuanto me ha ungido para dar buenas nuevas á los pobres: me ha enviado para sanar á los quebrantados de corazón; para pregonar á los cautivos libertad, y á los ciegos vista; para poner en libertad á los quebrantados:
19Para predicar el año agradable del Señor.
20Y rollando el libro, lo dió al ministro, y sentóse: y los ojos de todos en la sinagoga estaban fijos en él.
21Y comenzó á decirles: Hoy se ha cumplido esta Escritura en vuestros oídos.
22Y todos le daban testimonio, y estaban maravillados de las palabras de gracia que salían de su boca, y decían: ¿No es éste el hijo de José?
23Y les dijo: Sin duda me diréis este refrán: Médico, cúrate á ti mismo: de tantas cosas que hemos oído haber sido hechas en Capernaum, haz también aquí en tu tierra.
24Y dijo: De cierto os digo, que ningún profeta es acepto en su tierra.
25Mas en verdad os digo, que muchas viudas había en Israel en los días de Elías, cuando el cielo fué cerrado por tres años y seis meses, que hubo una grande hambre en toda la tierra;
26Pero á ninguna de ellas fué enviado Elías, sino á Sarepta de Sidón, á una mujer viuda.
27Y muchos leprosos había en Israel en tiempo del profeta Eliseo; mas ninguno de ellos fué limpio, sino Naamán el Siro.
28Entonces todos en la sinagoga fueron llenos de ira, oyendo estas cosas;
29Y levantándose, le echaron fuera de la ciudad, y le llevaron hasta la cumbre del monte sobre el cual la ciudad de ellos estaba edificada, para despeñarle.
30Mas él, pasando por medio de ellos, se fué.
31Y descendió á Capernaum, ciudad de Galilea. Y los enseñaba en los sábados.
32Y se maravillaban de su doctrina, porque su palabra era con potestad.
33Y estaba en la sinagoga un hombre que tenía un espíritu de un demonio inmundo, el cual exclamó á gran voz,
34Diciendo: Déjanos, ¿qué tenemos contigo, Jesús Nazareno? ¿has venido á destruirnos? Yo te conozco quién eres, el Santo de Dios.
35Y Jesús le increpó, diciendo: Enmudece, y sal de él. Entonces el demonio, derribándole en medio, salió de él, y no le hizo daño alguno.
36Y hubo espanto en todos, y hablaban unos á otros, diciendo: ¿Qué palabra es ésta, que con autoridad y potencia manda á los espíritus inmundos, y salen?
37Y la fama de él se divulgaba de todas partes por todos los lugares de la comarca.
38Y levantándose Jesús de la sinagoga, entró en casa de Simón: y la suegra de Simón estaba con una grande fiebre; y le rogaron por ella.
39E inclinándose hacia ella, riñó á la fiebre; y la fiebre la dejó; y ella levantándose luego, les servía.
40Y poniéndose el sol, todos los que tenían enfermos de diversas enfermedades, los traían á él; y él, poniendo las manos sobre cada uno de ellos, los sanaba.
41Y salían también demonios de muchos, dando voces, y diciendo: Tú eres el Hijo de Dios. Mas riñéndolos no les dejaba hablar; porque sabían que él era el Cristo.
42Y siendo ya de día salió, y se fué á un lugar desierto: y las gentes le buscaban, y vinieron hasta él; y le detenían para que no se apartase de ellos.
43Mas él les dijo: Que también á otras ciudades es necesario que anuncie el evangelio del reino de Dios; porque para esto soy enviado.
44Y predicaba en las sinagogas de Galilea.

1And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
2Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
3And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
4And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
5And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
8And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
9And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:
10For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:
11And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
12And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
13And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.
14And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
15And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
16And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
22And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph’s son?
23And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.
24And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.
25But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;
26But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.
27And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.
28And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,
29And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.
30But he passing through the midst of them went his way,
31And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.
32And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.
33And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,
34Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
35And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
36And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
37And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.
38And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house. And Simon’s wife’s mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.
39And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.
40Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
41And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.
42And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.
43And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.
44And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.

1Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness
2for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. Afterward, when they were completed, he was hungry.
3The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”
4Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’”
5The devil, leading him up on a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6The devil said to him, “I will give you all this authority and their glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I want.
7If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours.”
8Jesus answered him, “Get behind me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.’”
9He led him to Jerusalem and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down from here,
10for it is written, ‘He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you;’
11and, ‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest perhaps you dash your foot against a stone.’”
12Jesus answering, said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’”
13When the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him until another time.
14Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee, and news about him spread through all the surrounding area.
15He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.
16He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. He entered, as was his custom, into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.
17The book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. He opened the book, and found the place where it was written,
18“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed,
19and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
20He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21He began to tell them, “Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”
22All testified about him and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth; and they said, “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?”
23He said to them, “Doubtless you will tell me this proverb, ‘Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in your hometown.’”
24He said, “Most certainly I tell you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.
25But truly I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land.
26Elijah was sent to none of them, except to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.
27There were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed, except Naaman, the Syrian.”
28They were all filled with wrath in the synagogue as they heard these things.
29They rose up, threw him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill that their city was built on, that they might throw him off the cliff.
30But he, passing through the middle of them, went his way.
31He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. He was teaching them on the Sabbath day,
32and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority.
33In the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon; and he cried out with a loud voice,
34saying, “Ah! what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are: the Holy One of God!”
35Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent and come out of him!” When the demon had thrown him down in the middle of them, he came out of him, having done him no harm.
36Amazement came on all and they spoke together, one with another, saying, “What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”
37News about him went out into every place of the surrounding region.
38He rose up from the synagogue and entered into Simon’s house. Simon’s mother-in-law was afflicted with a great fever, and they begged him to help her.
39He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. Immediately she rose up and served them.
40When the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
41Demons also came out of many, crying out and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God!” Rebuking them, he didn’t allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.
42When it was day, he departed and went into an uninhabited place and the multitudes looked for him, and came to him, and held on to him, so that he wouldn’t go away from them.
43But he said to them, “I must preach the good news of God’s Kingdom to the other cities also. For this reason I have been sent.”
44He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
