Per quaranta giorni, ed era tentato dal Diavolo. E non mangiò nulla in que! giorni: e passati quelli ebbe fame.

Por cuarenta días, y era tentado del diablo. Y no comió cosa en aquellos días: los cuales pasados, tuvo hambre.

Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. Afterward, when they were completed, he was hungry.
