Lucas 2

Ahora en aquellos días, vino a hacer que César Augusto envió un decreto ordenando un censo de todas las personas viviendo en el mundo.

Y ACONTECIÓ en aquellos días que salió edicto de parte de Augusto César, que toda la tierra fuese empadronada.

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Cæsar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.

Now in those days, a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be enrolled.

Este fue el primer censo hecho mientras Cirenio era gobernador de Siria.

Este empadronamiento primero fué hecho siendo Cirenio gobernador de la Siria.

(And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

This was the first enrollment made when Quirinius was governor of Syria.

Así que todos se fueron a su propio pueblo para ser registrados para el censo.

E iban todos para ser empadronados, cada uno á su ciudad.

And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

All went to enroll themselves, everyone to his own city.

José también partió de Galilea, desde la ciudad de Nazaret, a Judea, a la ciudad de David la cual es llamada Belén, porque él era un descendiente de la familia de David.

Y subió José de Galilea, de la ciudad de Nazaret, á Judea, á la ciudad de David, que se llama Bethlehem, por cuanto era de la casa y familia de David;

And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judæa, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

Él fue ahí para registrarse juntamente con María, quien estaba comprometida con él y estaba encinta.

To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

to enroll himself with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him as wife, being pregnant.

Ahora aconteció que mientras ellos estaban allí, vino el tiempo para que ella pariera su bebé.

Y aconteció que estando ellos allí, se cumplieron los días en que ella había de parir.

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

While they were there, the day had come for her to give birth.

Ella dio a luz un hijo, su hijo primogénito y ella lo envolvió en paños largos de tela y lo acostó en un pesebre, porque allí no había lugar para ellos en el hospedaje.

Y parió á su hijo primogénito, y le envolvió en pañales, y acostóle en un pesebre, porque no había lugar para ellos en el mesón.

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in bands of cloth and laid him in a feeding trough, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Allí habían pastores en esa región que estaban quedándose en los campos, vigilando sus rebaños en la noche.

Y había pastores en la misma tierra, que velaban y guardaban las vigilias de la noche sobre su ganado.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

There were shepherds in the same country staying in the field, and keeping watch by night over their flock.

Un ángel del Señor se les apareció a ellos y la gloria del Señor brilló alrededor de ellos y ellos estaban terriblemente asustados.

Y he aquí el ángel del Señor vino sobre ellos, y la claridad de Dios los cercó de resplandor; y tuvieron gran temor.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

Entonces el ángel les dijo a ellos: "No tengan miedo porque yo les traigo buenas noticias que les traerán gran gozo a todas las personas.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

The angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all the people.

¡Hoy, un Salvador ha nacido para ustedes en la ciudad de David! ¡Él es Cristo el Señor!

Que os ha nacido hoy, en la ciudad de David, un Salvador, que es CRISTO el Señor.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

For there is born to you today, in David’s city, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Esta es la señal que le será dada a ustedes, ustedes encontrarán un bebé envuelto en tiras de tela y acostado en un pesebre."

Y esto os será por señal: hallaréis al niño envuelto en pañales, echado en un pesebre.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

This is the sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth, lying in a feeding trough.”

De repente con el ángel hubo un gran número del ejército celestial alabando a Dios y diciendo:

Y repentinamente fué con el ángel una multitud de los ejércitos celestiales, que alababan á Dios, y decían:

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Suddenly, there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army praising God and saying,

"Gloria a Dios en las alturas y que sea paz en la tierra entre las personas con quienes Él esté complacido."

Gloria en las alturas á Dios, y en la tierra paz, buena voluntad para con los hombres.

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

“Glory to God in the highest, on earth peace, good will toward men.”

Y sucedió que cuando los ángeles se habían ido al cielo, los pastores se dijeron unos a otros: "Vayamos ahora a Belén y veamos esta cosa que ha sucedido, la cual el Señor nos ha revelado".

Y aconteció que como los ángeles se fueron de ellos al cielo, los pastores dijeron los unos á los otros: Pasemos pues hasta Bethlehem, y veamos esto que ha sucedido, que el Señor nos ha manifestado.

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

When the angels went away from them into the sky, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem, now, and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”

Ellos se apresuraron allí y encontraron a María y a José y vieron al bebé acostado en el pesebre.

Y vinieron apriesa, y hallaron á María, y á José, y al niño acostado en el pesebre.

And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

Después que ellos lo habían visto, ellos le hicieron conocer lo que se había dicho sobre este niño.

Y viéndolo, hicieron notorio lo que les había sido dicho del niño.

And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

When they saw it, they publicized widely the saying which was spoken to them about this child.

Todos los que escucharon esto estaban asombrados de lo que les habían hablado los pastores.

Y todos los que oyeron, se maravillaron de lo que los pastores les decían.

And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

All who heard it wondered at the things which were spoken to them by the shepherds.

Pero María seguía pensando sobre todas las cosas que ella había escuchado, atesorándolas en su corazón.

Los pastores regresaron, glorificando y alabando a Dios por todo lo que ellos habían escuchado y visto, tal y cómo se les había hablado a ellos.

Y se volvieron los pastores glorificando y alabando á Dios de todas las cosas que habían oído y visto, como les había sido dicho.

And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

Cuando fue el fin del octavo día, cuando Él fue circuncidado, fue nombrado Jesús, el nombre que se le había sido dado por el ángel antes de que Él fuese concebido en el vientre.

Y pasados los ocho días para circuncidar al niño, llamaron su nombre JESÚS; el cual le fué puesto por el ángel antes que él fuese concebido en el vientre.

And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

When eight days were fulfilled for the circumcision of the child, his name was called Jesus, which was given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

Cuando el número de días requeridos para la purificaciones de ellos había pasado, de acuerdo a la Ley de Moisés, José y María lo trajeron al templo en Jerusalén para presentarlo al Señor.

Y como se cumplieron los días de la purificación de ella, conforme á la ley de Moisés, le trajeron á Jerusalem para presentarle al Señor,

And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;

Como está escrito en la ley del Señor: "Cada varón que abra el vientre será separado para el Señor."

(Como está escrito en la ley del Señor: Todo varón que abriere la matriz, será llamado santo al Señor),

(As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)

(as it is written in the law of the Lord, “Every male who opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord”),

Así que ellos ofrecieron sacrificio de acuerdo a lo que decía en la ley del Señor: "un par de palominos o dos palomas jóvenes".

Y para dar la ofrenda, conforme á lo que está dicho en la ley del Señor: un par de tórtolas, ó dos palominos.

And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

He aquí, había un hombre en Jerusalén cuyo nombre era Simeón y este hombre era justo y devoto. Él estaba esperando por la consolación de Israel y el Espíritu Santo estaba sobre él.

Y he aquí, había un hombre en Jerusalem, llamado Simeón, y este hombre, justo y pío, esperaba la consolación de Israel: y el Espíritu Santo era sobre él.

And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.

Behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him.

Había sido revelado a él por el Espíritu Santo que él no vería muerte antes de ver al Cristo del Señor.

Y había recibido respuesta del Espíritu Santo, que no vería la muerte antes que viese al Cristo del Señor.

And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

Dirigido por el Espíritu, Simeón entró al templo. Cuando los padres trajeron al infante Jesús, para hacer por Él de acuerdo a la costumbre de la ley,

Y vino por Espíritu al templo. Y cuando metieron al niño Jesús sus padres en el templo, para hacer por él conforme á la costumbre de la ley,

And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

He came in the Spirit into the temple. When the parents brought in the child, Jesus, that they might do concerning him according to the custom of the law,

él tomó al niño en sus brazos y alabó a Dios y él dijo:

Entonces él le tomó en sus brazos, y bendijo á Dios, y dijo:

Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,

then he received him into his arms and blessed God, and said,

"Ahora deja que tu siervo parta en paz, Señor, de acuerdo a tu palabra.

Ahora despides, Señor, á tu siervo, conforme á tu palabra, en paz;

Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:

“Now you are releasing your servant, Master, according to your word, in peace;

Pues mis ojos han visto tu salvación,

Porque han visto mis ojos tu salvación,

For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

for my eyes have seen your salvation,

la cual Tú has preparado en presencia de todas las personas.

La cual has aparejado en presencia de todos los pueblos;

Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

which you have prepared before the face of all peoples;

Una luz para revelación a los gentiles y gloria a tu pueblo Israel.

Luz para ser revelada á los Gentiles, y la gloria de tu pueblo Israel.

A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

a light for revelation to the nations, and the glory of your people Israel.”

El padre y la madre del niño estaban asombrados por las cosas que fueron dichas concernientes a Él.

Y José y su madre estaban maravillados de las cosas que se decían de él.

And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.

Joseph and his mother were marveling at the things which were spoken concerning him.

Simeón los bendijo y dijo a María su madre: "He aquí, este niño está escogido para la caída y levantamiento de muchas personas en Israel y una señal que es rechazada-

Y los bendijo Simeón, y dijo á su madre María: He aquí, éste es puesto para caída y para levantamiento de muchos en Israel; y para señal á la que será contradicho;

And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;

Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary, his mother, “Behold, this child is appointed for the falling and the rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which is spoken against.

y una espada traspasará tu propia alma- para que los pensamientos de muchos corazones puedan ser revelados."

Y una espada traspasará tu alma de ti misma, para que sean manifestados los pensamientos de muchos corazones.

(Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

Yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”

Una profetisa llamada Ana estaba allí. Ella era la hija de Fanuel de la tribu de Aser. Ella era muy vieja. Ella había vivido con su esposo por siete años después de su virginidad

Estaba también allí Ana, profetisa, hija de Phanuel, de la tribu de Aser; la cual había venido en grande edad, y había vivido con su marido siete años desde su virginidad;

And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;

There was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher (she was of a great age, having lived with a husband seven years from her virginity,

y fue una viuda por ochenta y cuatro años. Ella nunca dejó el templo pero estaba sirviendo con ayunos y oraciones, noche y día.

Y era viuda de hasta ochenta y cuatro años, que no se apartaba del templo, sirviendo de noche y de día con ayunos y oraciones.

And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

and she had been a widow for about eighty-four years), who didn’t depart from the temple, worshiping with fastings and petitions night and day.

En esa misma hora, ella vino hacia ellos y comenzó a darle gracias a Dios y ella habló acerca del niño a todos los que habían estado esperando por la redención de Jerusalén.

Y ésta, sobreviniendo en la misma hora, juntamente confesaba al Señor, y hablaba de él á todos los que esperaban la redención en Jerusalem.

And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

Coming up at that very hour, she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of him to all those who were looking for redemption in Jerusalem.

Cuando ellos habían terminado todo lo que a ellos se les requería hacer de acuerdo a la ley del Señor, ellos regresaron a Galilea, a su propio pueblo de Nazaret.

Mas como cumplieron todas las cosas según la ley del Señor, se volvieron á Galilea, á su ciudad de Nazaret.

And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.

When they had accomplished all things that were according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city, Nazareth.

El niño creció y se fortaleció, incrementando en sabiduría y la gracia de Dios estaba sobre Él.

Y el niño crecía, y fortalecíase, y se henchía de sabiduría; y la gracia de Dios era sobre él.

And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

The child was growing, and was becoming strong in spirit, being filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him.

Sus padres fueron cada año a Jerusalén para las fiestas de la Pascua.

E iban sus padres todos los años á Jerusalem en la fiesta de la Pascua.

Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.

Cuando Él tenía doce años, ellos otra vez subieron para el tiempo acostumbrado para la fiesta.

Y cuando fué de doce años, subieron ellos á Jerusalem conforme á la costumbre del día de la fiesta.

And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.

Después que ellos se habían quedado, el número de días completo para la fiesta, ellos comenzaron a regresar a su hogar. Pero el niño Jesús se quedó atrás en Jerusalén y sus padres no lo sabían.

Y acabados los días, volviendo ellos, se quedó el niño Jesús en Jerusalem, sin saberlo José y su madre.

And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.

and when they had fulfilled the days, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. Joseph and his mother didn’t know it,

Ellos se imaginaron que Él estaba con el grupo que estaba viajando con ellos, así que ellos viajaron un día de jornada. Entonces ellos comenzaron a buscarlo entre sus familiares y amigos.

Y pensando que estaba en la compañía, anduvieron camino de un día; y le buscaban entre los parientes y entre los conocidos:

But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day’s journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.

Cuando ellos no lo encontraron, ellos regresaron a Jerusalén y comenzaron a buscarlo a Él allí.

When they didn’t find him, they returned to Jerusalem, looking for him.

Sucedió que después de tres días, ellos lo encontraron a Él en el templo, sentado en el medio de los maestros, escuchándolos y haciéndoles preguntas.

Y aconteció, que tres días después le hallaron en el templo, sentado en medio de los doctores, oyéndoles y preguntándoles.

And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

After three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the middle of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.

Todos los que le escucharon estaban maravillados de su entendimiento y sus respuestas.

Y todos los que le oían, se pasmaban de su entendimiento y de sus respuestas.

And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

All who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.

Cuando ellos lo vieron, ellos estaban asombrados. Su madre le dijo a Él: "Hijo, ¿por qué nos has tratado de esta manera? Escucha, tu padre y yo hemos estado buscándote ansiosamente".

Y cuando le vieron, se maravillaron; y díjole su madre: Hijo, ¿por qué nos has hecho así? He aquí, tu padre y yo te hemos buscado con dolor.

And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.

When they saw him, they were astonished; and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us this way? Behold, your father and I were anxiously looking for you.”

Él le dijo a ellos: "¿Por qué ustedes me están buscando? ¿Acaso ustedes no saben que Yo debo estar en la casa de mi Padre?

Entonces él les dice: ¿Qué hay? ¿por qué me buscabais? ¿No sabíais que en los negocios de mi Padre me conviene estar?

And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

He said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

Pero ellos no entendieron lo que Él quiso decir con esas palabras.

Mas ellos no entendieron las palabras que les habló.

And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

They didn’t understand the saying which he spoke to them.

Entonces Él regresó a su casa con ellos a Nazaret y fue obediente a ellos. Su madre atesoró todas estas cosas en su corazón.

Y descendió con ellos, y vino á Nazaret, y estaba sujeto á ellos. Y su madre guardaba todas estas cosas en su corazón.

And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

And he went down with them and came to Nazareth. He was subject to them, and his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

Pero Jesús continuó creciendo en sabiduría y estatura e incrementando en favor con Dios y personas.

Y Jesús crecía en sabiduría, y en edad, y en gracia para con Dios y los hombres.

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
