Es geschah aber, in jenen Tagen gieng ein Gebot aus vom Kaiser Augustus, das ganze Reich aufzunehmen.

Y ACONTECIÓ en aquellos días que salió edicto de parte de Augusto César, que toda la tierra fuese empadronada.

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Cæsar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.

Es gieng aber auch Joseph hinauf von Galiläa aus der Stadt Nazaret nach Judäa in die Stadt Davids, die Bethlehem heißt, weil er aus dem Hause und Geschlechte Davids war,

sich aufnehmen zu lassen mit Mariam seiner Verlobten, welche schwanger war.

Es geschah aber, da sie dort waren, daß die Tage voll wurden für sie zum Gebären,

Y aconteció que estando ellos allí, se cumplieron los días en que ella había de parir.

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

While they were there, the day had come for her to give birth.

und sie gebar ihren erstgeborenen Sohn, und wickelte ihn in Windeln und legte ihn in eine Krippe, da sie in der Herberge keinen Platz fanden.

Y parió á su hijo primogénito, y le envolvió en pañales, y acostóle en un pesebre, porque no había lugar para ellos en el mesón.

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

Und es waren Hirten in demselben Ort auf dem Felde und hielten ihre Nachtwachen bei ihrer Herde.

Y había pastores en la misma tierra, que velaban y guardaban las vigilias de la noche sobre su ganado.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

Und ein Engel des Herrn trat zu ihnen, und des Herrn Herrlichkeit umleuchtete sie, und sie fürchteten sich groß.

Y he aquí el ángel del Señor vino sobre ellos, y la claridad de Dios los cercó de resplandor; y tuvieron gran temor.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

Und der Engel sagte zu ihnen: fürchtet euch nicht; siehe, ich verkünde euch große Freude, welche dem ganzen Volk widerfahren wird.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

Denn euch ist heute ein Heiland geboren, der ist Christus der Herr, in der Stadt Davids.

Que os ha nacido hoy, en la ciudad de David, un Salvador, que es CRISTO el Señor.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

For there is born to you today, in David’s city, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Und dies ist das Zeichen für euch: ihr werdet ein Kind finden, eingewickelt in Windeln und in einer Krippe liegend.

Y esto os será por señal: hallaréis al niño envuelto en pañales, echado en un pesebre.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

This is the sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth, lying in a feeding trough.”

Und plötzlich war bei dem Engel eine himmlische Heerschar, die lobten Gott und sprachen:

Y repentinamente fué con el ángel una multitud de los ejércitos celestiales, que alababan á Dios, y decían:

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Preis sei in der Höhe Gott, und auf Erden Friede unter Menschen des Wohlgefallens.

Gloria en las alturas á Dios, y en la tierra paz, buena voluntad para con los hombres.

Und es geschah, nachdem die Engel von ihnen weg in den Himmel gegangen, da sprachen die Hirten zu einander: So wollen wir hingehen nach Bethlehem, und nach dieser Begebenheit sehen, die uns der Herr kund gethan hat.

Y aconteció que como los ángeles se fueron de ellos al cielo, los pastores dijeron los unos á los otros: Pasemos pues hasta Bethlehem, y veamos esto que ha sucedido, que el Señor nos ha manifestado.

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

When the angels went away from them into the sky, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem, now, and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”

Und sie kamen eilends hin, und fanden die Mariam und den Joseph, und das Kind in der Krippe liegend.

Y vinieron apriesa, y hallaron á María, y á José, y al niño acostado en el pesebre.

And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

Nachdem sie es aber gesehen, berichteten sie ihnen über das Wort, welches zu ihnen über dieses Kind gesprochen worden.

Y viéndolo, hicieron notorio lo que les había sido dicho del niño.

And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

When they saw it, they publicized widely the saying which was spoken to them about this child.

Und alle die es hörten, wunderten sich dessen, was ihnen von den Hirten gesagt wurde.

Y todos los que oyeron, se maravillaron de lo que los pastores les decían.

And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

Mariam aber bewahrte alle diese Dinge nachdenkend in ihrem Herzen.

Und die Hirten kehrten zurück unter Preis und Lob Gottes über alles, was sie gehört und gesehen hatten, so wie es zu ihnen gesagt worden war.

Und wie acht Tage voll waren zu seiner Beschneidung, legte man ihm den Namen Jesus bei, der von dem Engel genannt ward vor seiner Empfängnis.

And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

Und als die Tage ihrer Reinigung voll waren nach dem Gesetze Mose's, brachten sie ihn nach Jerusalem, ihn dem Herrn darzustellen -

so wie es im Gesetze des Herrn geschrieben steht: daß alles Männliche, was die Mutter bricht, soll dem Herrn heilig heißen -

(As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)

und Opfer zu bringen nach der Vorschrift im Gesetz des Herrn, ein Paar Turteltauben oder zwei junge Tauben.

Y para dar la ofrenda, conforme á lo que está dicho en la ley del Señor: un par de tórtolas, ó dos palominos.

And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

Und siehe, in Jerusalem war ein Mann mit Namen Simeon, und dieser Mann war gerecht und fromm und wartete auf die Tröstung Israels, und heiliger Geist war auf ihm;

und es war ihm geweissagt von dem heiligen Geiste, daß er den Tod nicht sehen solle, ehe er den Christus des Herrn gesehen.

Y había recibido respuesta del Espíritu Santo, que no vería la muerte antes que viese al Cristo del Señor.

And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

Und er kam im Geiste in den Tempel; und da die Eltern den Knaben Jesus hereinbrachten, um mit ihm zu thun nach der Gewohnheit des Gesetzes,

Y vino por Espíritu al templo. Y cuando metieron al niño Jesús sus padres en el templo, para hacer por él conforme á la costumbre de la ley,

And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

nahm auch er es in seine Arme und segnete Gott und sprach:

“Now you are releasing your servant, Master, according to your word, in peace;

da meine Augen dein Heil gesehen haben,

Porque han visto mis ojos tu salvación,

For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

for my eyes have seen your salvation,

das du bereitet hast angesichts aller Völker,

La cual has aparejado en presencia de todos los pueblos;

Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

which you have prepared before the face of all peoples;

Licht zur Offenbarung für die Heiden, und Herrlichkeit deines Volkes Israel.

Luz para ser revelada á los Gentiles, y la gloria de tu pueblo Israel.

A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

a light for revelation to the nations, and the glory of your people Israel.”

Und sein Vater und seine Mutter waren verwundert über das, was von ihm gesagt ward.

Y José y su madre estaban maravillados de las cosas que se decían de él.

And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.

Joseph and his mother were marveling at the things which were spoken concerning him.

Und Simeon segnete sie und sprach zu Mariam seiner Mutter: Siehe, dieser ist gesetzt zum Fall und zum Aufstehen Vieler in Israel und zu einem Zeichen, dem widersprochen wird -

Y los bendijo Simeón, y dijo á su madre María: He aquí, éste es puesto para caída y para levantamiento de muchos en Israel; y para señal á la que será contradicho;

And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;

Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary, his mother, “Behold, this child is appointed for the falling and the rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which is spoken against.

und dir selbst wird ein Schwert durch die Seele gehen - auf daß offenbar werden die Gedanken von vielen Herzen.

Y una espada traspasará tu alma de ti misma, para que sean manifestados los pensamientos de muchos corazones.

(Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

Yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”

Und es war eine Prophetin Anna, eine Tochter Phanuels aus dem Stamm Asser, die war hoch vorgerückt in Jahren, nachdem sie einst sieben Jahre lang nach ihrer Jungfrauschaft mit ihrem Manne gelebt hatte,

Estaba también allí Ana, profetisa, hija de Phanuel, de la tribu de Aser; la cual había venido en grande edad, y había vivido con su marido siete años desde su virginidad;

And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;

und nun war sie eine Witwe von vierundachtzig Jahren, die wich nicht vom Tempel, wo sie mit Fasten und Beten diente Nacht und Tag.

Y era viuda de hasta ochenta y cuatro años, que no se apartaba del templo, sirviendo de noche y de día con ayunos y oraciones.

And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

and she had been a widow for about eighty-four years), who didn’t depart from the temple, worshiping with fastings and petitions night and day.

Und eben in dieser Stunde trat sie hinzu und dankte Gott, und sprach von ihm zu allen, die auf die Erlösung Jerusalems warteten.

Y ésta, sobreviniendo en la misma hora, juntamente confesaba al Señor, y hablaba de él á todos los que esperaban la redención en Jerusalem.

And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

Coming up at that very hour, she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of him to all those who were looking for redemption in Jerusalem.

Und nachdem sie alles vollbracht hatten gemäß dem Gesetz des Herrn, kehrten sie zurück nach Galiläa in ihre Stadt Nazaret.

Mas como cumplieron todas las cosas según la ley del Señor, se volvieron á Galilea, á su ciudad de Nazaret.

And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.

Der Knabe aber wuchs und erstarkte und ward voll Weisheit, und die Gnade Gottes war über ihm.

Y el niño crecía, y fortalecíase, y se henchía de sabiduría; y la gracia de Dios era sobre él.

And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

Und seine Eltern zogen alljährlich nach Jerusalem am Passafeste.

Da sie aber meinten, er sei bei der Reisegesellschaft, kamen sie eine Tagereise weit, und suchten ihn bei den Verwandten und Bekannten;

Y pensando que estaba en la compañía, anduvieron camino de un día; y le buscaban entre los parientes y entre los conocidos:

But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day’s journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.

und da sie ihn nicht fanden, kehrten sie um nach Jerusalem, ihn zu suchen.

Mas como no le hallasen, volvieron á Jerusalem buscándole.

Und es geschah, nach drei Tagen, fanden sie ihn im Tempel sitzend mitten unter den Lehrern, wie er ihnen zuhörte und sie ausfragte.

Y aconteció, que tres días después le hallaron en el templo, sentado en medio de los doctores, oyéndoles y preguntándoles.

And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

Es waren aber alle außer sich, die ihm zuhörten, über seinen Verstand und seine Antworten.

Y todos los que le oían, se pasmaban de su entendimiento y de sus respuestas.

Und da sie ihn sahen, wurden sie betroffen, und seine Mutter sprach zu ihm: Kind, wie konntest du uns das thun? Siehe, dein Vater und ich suchen dich mit Schmerzen.

Y cuando le vieron, se maravillaron; y díjole su madre: Hijo, ¿por qué nos has hecho así? He aquí, tu padre y yo te hemos buscado con dolor.

And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.

When they saw him, they were astonished; and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us this way? Behold, your father and I were anxiously looking for you.”

Und er sagte zu ihnen: was habt ihr mich gesucht? wußtet ihr nicht, daß ich im Eigentum meines Vaters sein muß?

Entonces él les dice: ¿Qué hay? ¿por qué me buscabais? ¿No sabíais que en los negocios de mi Padre me conviene estar?

And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

He said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

Und sie verstanden das Wort nicht, das er zu ihnen sprach.

Mas ellos no entendieron las palabras que les habló.

And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

They didn’t understand the saying which he spoke to them.

Und er gieng mit ihnen hinab, und kam nach Nazaret, und war ihnen unterthan.

Y descendió con ellos, y vino á Nazaret, y estaba sujeto á ellos. Y su madre guardaba todas estas cosas en su corazón.

And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

Und seine Mutter bewahrte alle die Dinge in ihrem Herzen. Und Jesus nahm zu an Weisheit und Gestalt und Gnade bei Gott und Menschen.

Y Jesús crecía en sabiduría, y en edad, y en gracia para con Dios y los hombres.

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
