1Am ersten Wochentage aber mit dem ersten Zwielicht kamen sie zu dem Grab mit den Gewürzen, die sie gerichtet hatten.
2Sie fanden aber den Stein abgewälzt vom Grabe;
3als sie aber eintraten, fanden sie den Leichnam nicht,
4und es geschah, da sie vergeblich darüber sannen, und siehe, zwei Männer standen bei ihnen in leuchtendem Gewand.
5Da sie aber Furcht bekamen und unter sich blickten, sprachen dieselben zu ihnen: Was suchet ihr den Lebenden bei den Toten?
6Er ist nicht hier, sondern er ward auferweckt. Denket daran, wie er zu euch geredet, als er noch in Galiläa war,
7da er vom Sohne des Menschen sagte, daß er müsse in die Hand sündiger Menschen ausgeliefert und gekreuzigt werden, und am dritten Tage auferstehen.
8Und sie gedachten seiner Worte, und kehrten von dem Grabe zurück,
9und berichteten dieses alles den Elf und allen Uebrigen.
10Das war aber die Maria von Magdala und Johanna und die Maria des Jakobus. (Auch ihre Genossinnen erzählten es den Aposteln).
11Und es erschienen ihnen diese Worte wie ein Märchen, und sie glaubten ihnen nicht.
12Petrus aber stand auf und lief zu dem Grabe, und bückte sich und sah nur die Leintücher. Und er gieng nach Hause in Verwunderung über das Ereignis.
13Und siehe, zwei von ihnen wanderten am nämlichen Tage in ein Dorf, sechzig Stadien von Jerusalem, mit Namen Emmaus.
14Und sie unterhielten sich mit einander von allen diesen Begebenheiten.
15Und es geschah, da sie sich unterhielten und mit einander überlegten, da kam Jesus herzu und gieng mit ihnen;
16ihre Augen aber wurden gehalten, daß sie ihn nicht erkannten.
17Er sagte aber zu ihnen: was sind das für Reden, die ihr da auf eurem Gange wechselt? Und sie standen gesenkten Blicks.
18Es antwortete aber einer mit Namen Kleopas, und sagte zu ihm: bist du der einzige, der in Jerusalem weilt und nichts erfahren hat von dem, was sich daselbst zugetragen in diesen Tagen?
19Und er sagte zu ihnen: was? Sie aber sagten zu ihm: das mit Jesus dem Nazarener, der ein Prophet war, gewaltig in That und Wort vor Gott und dem ganzen Volk,
20und wie ihn unsere Hohenpriester und Oberen ausgeliefert haben zur Todesstrafe und man ihn gekreuzigt hat.
21Wir aber lebten der Hoffnung, daß er es sei, der Israel erlösen sollte; und nun ist es mit allem dem der dritte Tag, seit dies geschah.
22Dazu haben uns auch einige von den Frauen bei uns bestürzt gemacht, die in der Morgenfrühe zum Grabe kamen
23seinen Leichnam nicht fanden, und kamen, und sagten, sie haben ein Gesicht von Engeln gesehen, welche sagten, er lebe.
24Und es sind einige von unseren Leuten zu dem Grabe gegangen, und haben es gefunden, so wie die Frauen sagten, ihn aber haben sie nicht gesehen.
25Und er sprach zu ihnen: o ihr Unverständige, deren Herz so schwer glaubt an alles, was die Propheten geredet haben.
26Mußte nicht der Christus also leiden und in seine Herrlichkeit eingehen?
27Und er hob an von Moses und von allen Propheten, und erklärte ihnen durch alle Schriften, was ihn angeht.
28Und sie näherten sich dem Dorfe, wohin sie giengen, und er ließ sich an, als wolle er weiter gehen.
29Und sie nötigten ihn: bleibe bei uns, denn es will Abend werden und schon neigt sich der Tag. Und er gieng hinein, bei ihnen zu bleiben.
30Und es geschah, da er mit ihnen zu Tische saß, nahm er das Brot, segnete, brach und gab es ihnen;
31ihnen aber wurden die Augen geöffnet, und sie erkannten ihn; und er ward unsichtbar vor ihnen.
32Und sie sprachen zu einander: brannte uns nicht das Herz, wie er zu uns redete unterwegs, wie er uns die Schriften aufschloß?
33Und sie standen auf zur selben Stunde und kehrten zurück nach Jerusalem, und fanden die Elf und ihre Genossen versammelt,
34die sagten: der Herr ward in der That auferweckt und ist dem Simon erschienen.
35Und sie erzählten, was auf dem Weg geschehen, und wie er von ihnen am Brotbrechen erkannt wurde.
36Da sie aber hievon sprachen, stand er mitten unter ihnen.
37Sie aber erschracken, und in der Furcht glaubten sie einen Geist zu schauen.
38Und er sprach zu ihnen: was seid ihr bestürzt und warum steigen Zweifel auf in eurem Herzen?
39Sehet meine Hände und meine Füße an, daß ich es selbst bin; rühret mich an und sehet; denn ein Geist hat nicht Fleisch und Bein, wie ihr es an mir seht.
40Und da er dies gesagt, zeigte er ihnen seine Hände und Füße.
41Da sie aber noch nicht glauben konnten vor Freuden und sich verwunderten, sagte er zu ihnen: habt ihr etwas zu essen hier?
42Sie aber gaben ihm ein Stück gebratenen Fisch;
43und er nahm es und verzehrte es vor ihren Augen.
44Er sagte aber zu ihnen: das sind meine Reden, die ich zu euch gesprochen, als ich noch bei euch war, daß alles in Erfüllung gehen müsse, was von mir geschrieben ist im Gesetze Moses' und den Psalmen.
45Hierauf öffnete er ihnen den Verstand zur Einsicht in die Schriften, und sagte zu ihnen:
46so steht es geschrieben, daß der Christus leide und am dritten Tage auferstehe von den Toten,
47und auf seinen Namen verkündet werde Buße zur Sündenvergebung bei allen Völkern, anfangend von Jerusalem.
48Ihr seid Zeugen dafür,
49und siehe ich sende aus die Verheißung meines Vaters über euch; ihr aber sollt in dieser Stadt sitzen, bis ihr Kraft aus der Höhe angezogen habt.
50Er führte sie aber hinaus bis bei Bethania, hob die Hände auf und segnete sie.
51Und es geschah, indem er sie segnete, schied er von ihnen,
52und sie kehrten um nach Jerusalem in großer Freude,
53und waren allezeit im Tempel Gott lobend.

1Y EL primer día de la semana, muy de mañana, vinieron al sepulcro, trayendo las drogas aromáticas que habían aparejado, y algunas otras mujeres con ellas.
2Y hallaron la piedra revuelta del sepulcro.
3Y entrando, no hallaron el cuerpo del Señor Jesús.
4Y aconteció, que estando ellas espantadas de esto, he aquí se pararon junto á ellas dos varones con vestiduras resplandecientes;
5Y como tuviesen ellas temor, y bajasen el rostro á tierra, les dijeron: ¿Por qué buscáis entre los muertos al que vive?
6No está aquí, mas ha resucitado: acordaos de lo que os habló, cuando aun estaba en Galilea,
7Diciendo: Es menester que el Hijo del hombre sea entregado en manos de hombres pecadores, y que sea crucificado, y resucite al tercer día.
8Entonces ellas se acordaron de sus palabras,
9Y volviendo del sepulcro, dieron nuevas de todas estas cosas á los once, y á todos los demás.
10Y eran María Magdalena, y Juana, y María madre de Jacobo, y las demás con ellas, las que dijeron estas cosas á los apóstoles.
11Mas á ellos les parecían como locura las palabras de ellas, y no las creyeron.
12Pero levantándose Pedro, corrió al sepulcro: y como miró dentro, vió solos los lienzos echados; y se fué maravillándose de lo que había sucedido.
13Y he aquí, dos de ellos iban el mismo día á una aldea que estaba de Jerusalem sesenta estadios, llamada Emmaús.
14E iban hablando entre sí de todas aquellas cosas que habían acaecido.
15Y aconteció que yendo hablando entre sí, y preguntándose el uno al otro, el mismo Jesús se llegó, é iba con ellos juntamente.
16Mas los ojos de ellos estaban embargados, para que no le conociesen.
17Y díjoles: ¿Qué pláticas son estas que tratáis entre vosotros andando, y estáis tristes?
18Y respondiendo el uno, que se llamaba Cleofas, le dijo: ¿Tú sólo peregrino eres en Jerusalem, y no has sabido las cosas que en ella han acontecido estos días?
19Entonces él les dijo: ¿Qué cosas? Y ellos le dijeron: De Jesús Nazareno, el cual fué varón profeta, poderoso en obra y en palabra delante de Dios y de todo el pueblo;
20Y cómo le entregaron los príncipes de los sacerdotes y nuestros príncipes á condenación de muerte, y le crucificaron.
21Mas nosotros esperábamos que él era el que había de redimir á Israel: y ahora sobre todo esto, hoy es el tercer día que esto ha acontecido.
22Aunque también unas mujeres de los nuestros nos han espantado, las cuales antes del día fueron al sepulcro:
23Y no hallando su cuerpo, vinieron diciendo que también habían visto visión de ángeles, los cuales dijeron que él vive.
24Y fueron algunos de los nuestros al sepulcro, y hallaron así como las mujeres habían dicho; mas á él no le vieron.
25Entonces él les dijo: ¡Oh insensatos, y tardos de corazón para creer todo lo que los profetas han dicho!
26¿No era necesario que el Cristo padeciera estas cosas, y que entrara en su gloria?
27Y comenzando desde Moisés, y de todos los profetas, declarábales en todas las Escrituras lo que de él decían.
28Y llegaron á la aldea á donde iban: y él hizo como que iba más lejos.
29Mas ellos le detuvieron por fuerza, diciendo: Quédate con nosotros, porque se hace tarde, y el día ya ha declinado. Entró pues á estarse con ellos.
30Y aconteció, que estando sentado con ellos á la mesa, tomando el pan, bendijo, y partió, y dióles.
31Entonces fueron abiertos los ojos de ellos, y le conocieron; mas él se desapareció de los ojos de ellos.
32Y decían el uno al otro: ¿No ardía nuestro corazón en nosotros, mientras nos hablaba en el camino, y cuando nos abría las Escrituras?
33Y levantándose en la misma hora, tornáronse á Jerusalem, y hallaron á los once reunidos, y á los que estaban con ellos.
34Que decían: Ha resucitado el Señor verdaderamente, y ha aparecido á Simón.
35Entonces ellos contaban las cosas que les habían acontecido en el camino, y cómo había sido conocido de ellos al partir el pan.
36Y entre tanto que ellos hablaban estas cosas, él se puso en medio de ellos, y les dijo: Paz á vosotros.
37Entonces ellos espantados y asombrados, pensaban que veían espíritu.
38Mas él les dice: ¿Por qué estáis turbados, y suben pensamientos á vuestros corazones?
39Mirad mis manos y mis pies, que yo mismo soy: palpad, y ved; que el espíritu ni tiene carne ni huesos, como veis que yo tengo.
40Y en diciendo esto, les mostró las manos y los pies.
41Y no creyéndolo aún ellos de gozo, y maravillados, díjoles: ¿Tenéis aquí algo de comer?
42Entonces ellos le presentaron parte de un pez asado, y un panal de miel.
43Y él tomó, y comió delante de ellos.
44Y él les dijo: Estas son las palabras que os hablé, estando aún con vosotros: que era necesario que se cumpliesen todas las cosas que están escritas de mí en la ley de Moisés, y en los profetas, y en los salmos.
45Entonces les abrió el sentido, para que entendiesen las Escrituras;
46Y díjoles: Así está escrito, y así fué necesario que el Cristo padeciese, y resucitase de los muertos al tercer día;
47Y que se predicase en su nombre el arrepentimiento y la remisión de pecados en todas las naciones, comenzando de Jerusalem.
48Y vosotros sois testigos de estas cosas.
49Y he aquí, yo enviaré la promesa de mi Padre sobre vosotros: mas vosotros asentad en la ciudad de Jerusalem, hasta que seáis investidos de potencia de lo alto.
50Y sacólos fuera hasta Bethania, y alzando sus manos, los bendijo.
51Y aconteció que bendiciéndolos, se fué de ellos; y era llevado arriba al cielo.
52Y ellos, después de haberle adorado, se volvieron á Jerusalem con gran gozo;
53Y estaban siempre en el templo, alabando y bendiciendo á Dios. Amén.

1Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
2And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
4And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
5And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
7Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
8And they remembered his words,
9And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.
10It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.
11And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.
12Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.
13And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
14And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
15And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
16But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
17And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?
18And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
19And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
20And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
21But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
22Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;
23And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
24And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
25Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
28And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
29But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
30And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
31And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
32And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
33And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
34Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
35And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
36And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
39Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
41And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
42And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43And he took it, and did eat before them.
44And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
45Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48And ye are witnesses of these things.
49And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
50And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
51And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
52And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
53And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

1But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they and some others came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.
2They found the stone rolled away from the tomb.
3They entered in, and didn’t find the Lord Jesus’ body.
4While they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing.
5Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. The men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?
6He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,
7saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and the third day rise again?”
8They remembered his words,
9returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.
10Now they were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James. The other women with them told these things to the apostles.
11These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they didn’t believe them.
12But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened.
13Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was sixty stadia from Jerusalem.
14They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened.
15While they talked and questioned together, Jesus himself came near, and went with them.
16But their eyes were kept from recognizing him.
17He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?”
18One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things which have happened there in these days?”
19He said to them, “What things?” They said to him, “The things concerning Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;
20and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.
21But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.
22Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb;
23and when they didn’t find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.
24Some of us went to the tomb and found it just like the women had said, but they didn’t see him.”
25He said to them, “Foolish people, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
26Didn’t the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?”
27Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
28They came near to the village where they were going, and he acted like he would go further.
29They urged him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over.” He went in to stay with them.
30When he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave it to them.
31Their eyes were opened and they recognized him; then he vanished out of their sight.
32They said to one another, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?”
33They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,
34saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”
35They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.
36As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace be to you.”
37But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38He said to them, “Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?
39See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn’t have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.”
40When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
41While they still didn’t believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”
42They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.
43He took them, and ate in front of them.
44He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms concerning me must be fulfilled.”
45Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.
46He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,
47and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48You are witnesses of these things.
49Behold, I send out the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.”
50He led them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands and blessed them.
51While he blessed them, he withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven.
52They worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,
53and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
