1Am ersten Tage nach dem Sabbat aber kamen sie beim Morgengrauen zum Grabe mit den wohlriechenden Stoffen, die sie zubereitet hatten.
2Da fanden sie den Stein vom Grabe weggewälzt,
3doch als sie hineingetreten waren, fanden sie den Leichnam des Herrn Jesus nicht.
4Während sie nun hierüber ratlos waren, standen plötzlich zwei Männer in strahlenden Gewändern bei ihnen;
5und als sie in Furcht gerieten und den Blick zu Boden schlugen, sagten diese zu ihnen: »Was sucht ihr den Lebenden bei den Toten?
6Er ist nicht (mehr) hier, sondern ist auferweckt worden. Denkt daran, wie er zu euch geredet hat, als er noch in Galiläa war,
7und aussagte, der Menschensohn müsse in die Hände sündiger Menschen ausgeliefert und ans Kreuz geschlagen werden und am dritten Tage auferstehen.«
8Da erinnerten sie sich seiner Worte,
9kehrten vom Grabe zurück und berichteten dies alles den elf (Jüngern) und allen übrigen.
10Es waren dies aber Maria von Magdala und Johanna und Maria, die Mutter des Jakobus, und die anderen Frauen mit ihnen, die den Aposteln dies berichteten;
11doch diese Mitteilungen erschienen ihnen als leeres Gerede, und sie schenkten ihnen keinen Glauben.
12Petrus aber machte sich auf und eilte zum Grabe, und als er sich hineinbückte, sah er nur die Leintücher daliegen; so kehrte er denn nach Hause zurück, voll Verwunderung über das Geschehene.
13Und siehe, zwei von ihnen waren an demselben Tage auf der Wanderung nach einem Dorf begriffen, das sechzig Stadien von Jerusalem entfernt lag und Emmaus hieß.
14Sie unterhielten sich miteinander über alle diese Begebenheiten.
15Während sie sich nun so unterhielten und sich gegeneinander aussprachen, kam Jesus selbst hinzu und schloß sich ihnen auf der Wanderung an;
16ihre Augen jedoch wurden gehalten, so daß sie ihn nicht erkannten.
17Er fragte sie nun: »Was sind das für Gespräche, die ihr da auf eurer Wanderung miteinander führt?« Da blieben sie betrübten Angesichts stehen.
18Der eine aber von ihnen, namens Kleopas, erwiderte ihm: »Du bist wohl der einzige, der sich in Jerusalem aufhält und nichts von dem erfahren hat, was in diesen Tagen dort geschehen ist?«
19Er fragte sie: »Was denn?« Sie antworteten ihm: »Das, was mit Jesus von Nazareth geschehen ist, der ein Prophet war, gewaltig in Tat und Wort vor Gott und dem ganzen Volk.
20Ihn haben unsere Hohenpriester und der Hohe Rat zur Todesstrafe ausgeliefert und ans Kreuz gebracht.
21Wir aber hatten gehofft, daß er es sei, der Israel erlösen würde; aber nun ist bei dem allem heute schon der dritte Tag, seit dies geschehen ist.
22Dazu haben uns aber auch noch einige Frauen, die zu uns gehören, in Bestürzung versetzt: sie sind heute in der Frühe am Grabe gewesen
23und haben, als sie seinen Leichnam nicht gefunden hatten, nach ihrer Rückkehr erzählt, sie hätten auch noch eine Erscheinung von Engeln gesehen, und diese hätten gesagt, daß er lebe.
24Da sind denn einige der Unseren zum Grabe hingegangen und haben es so gefunden, wie die Frauen berichtet hatten, ihn selbst aber haben sie nicht gesehen.«
25Da sagte er zu ihnen: »O ihr Gedankenlosen, wie ist doch euer Herz so träge, um an alles das zu glauben, was die Propheten verkündigt haben!
26Mußte denn Christus dies nicht leiden und dann in seine Herrlichkeit eingehen?«
27Darauf fing er bei Mose und allen Propheten an und legte ihnen alle Schriftstellen aus, die sich auf ihn bezogen.
28So kamen sie in die Nähe des Dorfes, wohin die Wanderung ging, und er tat so, als wollte er weiterwandern.
29Da nötigten sie ihn mit den Worten: »Bleibe bei uns, denn es will Abend werden, und der Tag hat sich schon geneigt!« So trat er denn ein, um bei ihnen zu bleiben.
30Als er sich hierauf mit ihnen zu Tisch gesetzt hatte, nahm er das Brot, sprach den Lobpreis (Gottes), brach das Brot und gab es ihnen:
31da gingen ihnen die Augen auf, und sie erkannten ihn; doch er entschwand ihren Blicken.
32Da sagten sie zueinander: »Brannte nicht unser Herz in uns, als er unterwegs mit uns redete und uns den Sinn der Schriftstellen erschloß?«
33Und sie machten sich noch in derselben Stunde auf, kehrten nach Jerusalem zurück und fanden dort die Elf nebst ihren Genossen versammelt;
34diese teilten ihnen mit: »Der Herr ist wirklich auferweckt worden und ist dem Simon erschienen!«
35Da erzählten auch sie, was sich unterwegs zugetragen hatte und wie er von ihnen am Brechen des Brotes erkannt worden war.
36Während sie hierüber noch sprachen, trat Jesus selbst mitten unter sie mit den Worten: »Friede sei mit euch!«
37Da gerieten sie in Angst und Furcht und meinten, einen Geist zu sehen.
38Doch er sagte zu ihnen: »Was seid ihr so bestürzt, und warum steigen Zweifel in euren Herzen auf?
39Seht meine Hände und meine Füße an, daß ich es leibhaftig bin! Betastet mich und beschaut mich; ein Geist hat ja doch kein Fleisch und keine Knochen, wie ihr solche an mir wahrnehmt.«
40Nach diesen Worten zeigte er ihnen seine Hände und Füße.
41Als sie aber vor Freude immer noch ungläubig und voll Verwunderung waren, fragte er sie:
42»Habt ihr hier nicht etwas zu essen?« Da reichten sie ihm ein Stück von einem gebratenen Fisch;
43das nahm er und aß es vor ihren Augen.
44Dann sagte er zu ihnen: »Dies besagen meine Worte, die ich zu euch gesprochen habe, als ich noch bei euch war: es müsse alles in Erfüllung gehen, was im mosaischen Gesetz, bei den Propheten und in den Psalmen über mich geschrieben steht.«
45Hierauf erschloß er ihnen den Sinn für das Verständnis der Schriften
46und sagte zu ihnen: »So steht geschrieben: Christus muß leiden und am dritten Tage von den Toten auferstehen,
47und auf Grund seines Namens muß Buße zur Vergebung der Sünden bei allen Völkern gepredigt werden, zuerst aber in Jerusalem.
48Ihr seid die Zeugen hierfür.
49Und wisset wohl: Ich sende das Verheißungsgut meines Vaters auf euch herab; ihr aber bleibt hier in der Stadt, bis ihr mit Kraft aus der Höhe ausgerüstet worden seid!«
50Hierauf führte er sie (aus der Stadt) hinaus bis in die Nähe von Bethanien, erhob dann seine Hände und segnete sie;
51und es begab sich: während er sie segnete, schied er von ihnen und wurde in den Himmel emporgehoben.
52Und sie warfen sich anbetend vor ihm nieder und kehrten hocherfreut nach Jerusalem zurück
53und hielten sich beständig im Tempel auf und priesen Gott.

1Y EL primer día de la semana, muy de mañana, vinieron al sepulcro, trayendo las drogas aromáticas que habían aparejado, y algunas otras mujeres con ellas.
2Y hallaron la piedra revuelta del sepulcro.
3Y entrando, no hallaron el cuerpo del Señor Jesús.
4Y aconteció, que estando ellas espantadas de esto, he aquí se pararon junto á ellas dos varones con vestiduras resplandecientes;
5Y como tuviesen ellas temor, y bajasen el rostro á tierra, les dijeron: ¿Por qué buscáis entre los muertos al que vive?
6No está aquí, mas ha resucitado: acordaos de lo que os habló, cuando aun estaba en Galilea,
7Diciendo: Es menester que el Hijo del hombre sea entregado en manos de hombres pecadores, y que sea crucificado, y resucite al tercer día.
8Entonces ellas se acordaron de sus palabras,
9Y volviendo del sepulcro, dieron nuevas de todas estas cosas á los once, y á todos los demás.
10Y eran María Magdalena, y Juana, y María madre de Jacobo, y las demás con ellas, las que dijeron estas cosas á los apóstoles.
11Mas á ellos les parecían como locura las palabras de ellas, y no las creyeron.
12Pero levantándose Pedro, corrió al sepulcro: y como miró dentro, vió solos los lienzos echados; y se fué maravillándose de lo que había sucedido.
13Y he aquí, dos de ellos iban el mismo día á una aldea que estaba de Jerusalem sesenta estadios, llamada Emmaús.
14E iban hablando entre sí de todas aquellas cosas que habían acaecido.
15Y aconteció que yendo hablando entre sí, y preguntándose el uno al otro, el mismo Jesús se llegó, é iba con ellos juntamente.
16Mas los ojos de ellos estaban embargados, para que no le conociesen.
17Y díjoles: ¿Qué pláticas son estas que tratáis entre vosotros andando, y estáis tristes?
18Y respondiendo el uno, que se llamaba Cleofas, le dijo: ¿Tú sólo peregrino eres en Jerusalem, y no has sabido las cosas que en ella han acontecido estos días?
19Entonces él les dijo: ¿Qué cosas? Y ellos le dijeron: De Jesús Nazareno, el cual fué varón profeta, poderoso en obra y en palabra delante de Dios y de todo el pueblo;
20Y cómo le entregaron los príncipes de los sacerdotes y nuestros príncipes á condenación de muerte, y le crucificaron.
21Mas nosotros esperábamos que él era el que había de redimir á Israel: y ahora sobre todo esto, hoy es el tercer día que esto ha acontecido.
22Aunque también unas mujeres de los nuestros nos han espantado, las cuales antes del día fueron al sepulcro:
23Y no hallando su cuerpo, vinieron diciendo que también habían visto visión de ángeles, los cuales dijeron que él vive.
24Y fueron algunos de los nuestros al sepulcro, y hallaron así como las mujeres habían dicho; mas á él no le vieron.
25Entonces él les dijo: ¡Oh insensatos, y tardos de corazón para creer todo lo que los profetas han dicho!
26¿No era necesario que el Cristo padeciera estas cosas, y que entrara en su gloria?
27Y comenzando desde Moisés, y de todos los profetas, declarábales en todas las Escrituras lo que de él decían.
28Y llegaron á la aldea á donde iban: y él hizo como que iba más lejos.
29Mas ellos le detuvieron por fuerza, diciendo: Quédate con nosotros, porque se hace tarde, y el día ya ha declinado. Entró pues á estarse con ellos.
30Y aconteció, que estando sentado con ellos á la mesa, tomando el pan, bendijo, y partió, y dióles.
31Entonces fueron abiertos los ojos de ellos, y le conocieron; mas él se desapareció de los ojos de ellos.
32Y decían el uno al otro: ¿No ardía nuestro corazón en nosotros, mientras nos hablaba en el camino, y cuando nos abría las Escrituras?
33Y levantándose en la misma hora, tornáronse á Jerusalem, y hallaron á los once reunidos, y á los que estaban con ellos.
34Que decían: Ha resucitado el Señor verdaderamente, y ha aparecido á Simón.
35Entonces ellos contaban las cosas que les habían acontecido en el camino, y cómo había sido conocido de ellos al partir el pan.
36Y entre tanto que ellos hablaban estas cosas, él se puso en medio de ellos, y les dijo: Paz á vosotros.
37Entonces ellos espantados y asombrados, pensaban que veían espíritu.
38Mas él les dice: ¿Por qué estáis turbados, y suben pensamientos á vuestros corazones?
39Mirad mis manos y mis pies, que yo mismo soy: palpad, y ved; que el espíritu ni tiene carne ni huesos, como veis que yo tengo.
40Y en diciendo esto, les mostró las manos y los pies.
41Y no creyéndolo aún ellos de gozo, y maravillados, díjoles: ¿Tenéis aquí algo de comer?
42Entonces ellos le presentaron parte de un pez asado, y un panal de miel.
43Y él tomó, y comió delante de ellos.
44Y él les dijo: Estas son las palabras que os hablé, estando aún con vosotros: que era necesario que se cumpliesen todas las cosas que están escritas de mí en la ley de Moisés, y en los profetas, y en los salmos.
45Entonces les abrió el sentido, para que entendiesen las Escrituras;
46Y díjoles: Así está escrito, y así fué necesario que el Cristo padeciese, y resucitase de los muertos al tercer día;
47Y que se predicase en su nombre el arrepentimiento y la remisión de pecados en todas las naciones, comenzando de Jerusalem.
48Y vosotros sois testigos de estas cosas.
49Y he aquí, yo enviaré la promesa de mi Padre sobre vosotros: mas vosotros asentad en la ciudad de Jerusalem, hasta que seáis investidos de potencia de lo alto.
50Y sacólos fuera hasta Bethania, y alzando sus manos, los bendijo.
51Y aconteció que bendiciéndolos, se fué de ellos; y era llevado arriba al cielo.
52Y ellos, después de haberle adorado, se volvieron á Jerusalem con gran gozo;
53Y estaban siempre en el templo, alabando y bendiciendo á Dios. Amén.

1Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
2And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
4And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
5And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
7Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
8And they remembered his words,
9And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.
10It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.
11And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.
12Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.
13And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
14And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
15And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
16But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
17And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?
18And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
19And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
20And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
21But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
22Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;
23And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
24And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
25Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
28And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
29But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
30And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
31And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
32And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
33And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
34Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
35And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
36And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
39Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
41And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
42And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43And he took it, and did eat before them.
44And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
45Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48And ye are witnesses of these things.
49And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
50And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
51And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
52And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
53And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

1But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they and some others came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.

4While they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing.
5Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. The men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?
6He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,
7saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and the third day rise again?”
8They remembered his words,
9returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.
10Now they were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James. The other women with them told these things to the apostles.
11These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they didn’t believe them.
12But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened.
13Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was sixty stadia from Jerusalem.
14They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened.
15While they talked and questioned together, Jesus himself came near, and went with them.
16But their eyes were kept from recognizing him.
17He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?”
18One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things which have happened there in these days?”
19He said to them, “What things?” They said to him, “The things concerning Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;
20and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.
21But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.
22Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb;
23and when they didn’t find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.
24Some of us went to the tomb and found it just like the women had said, but they didn’t see him.”
25He said to them, “Foolish people, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
26Didn’t the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?”
27Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
28They came near to the village where they were going, and he acted like he would go further.
29They urged him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over.” He went in to stay with them.
30When he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave it to them.
31Their eyes were opened and they recognized him; then he vanished out of their sight.
32They said to one another, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?”
33They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,
34saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”
35They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.
36As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace be to you.”
37But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38He said to them, “Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?
39See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn’t have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.”
40When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
41While they still didn’t believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”
42They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.
43He took them, and ate in front of them.
44He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms concerning me must be fulfilled.”
45Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.
46He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,
47and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48You are witnesses of these things.
49Behold, I send out the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.”
50He led them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands and blessed them.
