Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.

Um deles, chamado Cleopas, respondeu-lhe: “Você é o único forasteiro em Jerusalém que não sabe das coisas que aconteceram lá nestes dias?”
Y respondiendo el uno, que se llamaba Cleofas, le dijo: ¿Tú sólo peregrino eres en Jerusalem, y no has sabido las cosas que en ella han acontecido estos días?
And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things which have happened there in these days?”

e não achando o corpo dele, voltaram dizendo que também tinham tido uma visão de anjos, os quais disseram que ele está vivo.

Eles se aproximaram da aldeia para onde iam, e ele fez como se fosse para mais longe.

Eles insistiram com ele, dizendo: “Fique conosco, pois já é quase noite, e o dia está quase no fim.” Ele entrou para ficar com eles.

But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.

Quando ele se sentou à mesa com eles, tomou o pão e deu graças. Partindo-o, deu-o a eles.

And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.

Levantaram-se naquela mesma hora, voltaram para Jerusalém e encontraram os onze reunidos, e os que estavam com eles,

And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

Vejam as minhas mãos e os meus pés, que sou eu mesmo. Toquem-me e vejam, pois um espírito não tem carne e ossos, como vocês veem que eu tenho.”
Mirad mis manos y mis pies, que yo mismo soy: palpad, y ved; que el espíritu ni tiene carne ni huesos, como veis que yo tengo.
Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

Então ele lhes abriu o entendimento, para que pudessem compreender as Escrituras.
