Lucas 20

E avvenne, che in un di quei giorni, mentre egli insegnava al popolo nel tempio, ed evangelizzava, si radunarono i principi de' sacerdoti, e gli Scribi con i seniori.

Y ACONTECIÓ un día, que enseñando él al pueblo en el templo, y anunciando el evangelio, llegáronse los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los escribas, con los ancianos;

And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders,

On one of those days, as he was teaching the people in the temple and preaching the Good News, the priests and scribes came to him with the elders.

E preser a dirgli: Spiegaci, con quale autorità fai tu queste cose: o chi sia, che ha dato a te tale autorità?

Y le hablaron, diciendo: Dinos: ¿con qué potestad haces estas cosas? ¿ó quién es el que te ha dado esta potestad?

And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?

They asked him, “Tell us: by what authority do you do these things? Or who is giving you this authority?”

Ma Gesù rispose, e disse loro: Vi farò ancor io una interrogazione. Rispondete a me:

Respondiendo entonces Jesús, les dijo: Os preguntaré yo también una palabra; respondedme:

And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me:

He answered them, “I also will ask you one question. Tell me:

Il battesimo di Giovanni veniva egli dal cielo, o dagli uomini?

El bautismo de Juan, ¿era del cielo, ó de los hombres?

The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men?

the baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men?”

Ma essi ruminavano dentro di se, dicendo: Se diciamo, dal cielo, ei risponderà: Perché dunque non avete creduto a lui?

Mas ellos pensaban dentro de sí, diciendo: Si dijéremos, del cielo, dirá: ¿Por qué, pues, no le creísteis?

And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not?

They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why didn’t you believe him?’

Se poi diremo, dagli uomini, il popolo tutto ci lapiderà: perché è persuaso, che Giovanni era profeta.

Y si dijéremos, de los hombres, todo el pueblo nos apedreará: porque están ciertos que Juan era profeta.

But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet.

But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet.”

E risposer, che non sapevano, di dove fosse.

Y respondieron que no sabían de dónde.

And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was.

They answered that they didn’t know where it was from.

E Gesù disse loro: Nemmen io dico a voi, con quale autorità fo queste cose.

Entonces Jesús les dijo: Ni yo os digo con qué potestad hago estas cosas.

And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

E principiò a dire al popolo questa parabola: Un uomo piantò una vigna, e la diede in affitto a vignaiuoli: ed egli stette per molto tempo in lontan paese.

Y comenzó á decir al pueblo esta parábola: Un hombre plantó una viña, y arrendóla á labradores, y se ausentó por mucho tiempo.

Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.

He began to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard and rented it out to some farmers, and went into another country for a long time.

E a suo tempo mandò un servo a' vignaiuoli, perché gli desser de' frutti della vigna. Ma questi lo batterono, e lo rimandarono con le mani vuote.

Y al tiempo, envió un siervo á los labradores, para que le diesen del fruto de la viña; mas los labradores le hirieron, y enviaron vacío.

And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty.

At the proper season, he sent a servant to the farmers to collect his share of the fruit of the vineyard. But the farmers beat him and sent him away empty.

E seguitò a mandare un altra servo. Ma quegli avendo battuto anche questo, e fattagli vergogna, lo rimandarono con le mani vote.

Y volvió á enviar otro siervo; mas ellos á éste también, herido y afrentado, le enviaron vacío.

And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.

He sent yet another servant, and they also beat him and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.

E si rifece da capo a mandare il terzo: ed essi ferirono, e cacciaron via anche questo.

Y volvió á enviar al tercer siervo; mas ellos también á éste echaron herido.

And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out.

He sent yet a third, and they also wounded him and threw him out.

Disse allora il padrone della vigna: Che farò io? Manderò il mio figliuolo diletto: forse quando lo vedranno, gli porteranno rispetto.

Entonces el señor de la viña dijo: ¿Qué haré? Enviaré mi hijo amado: quizás cuando á éste vieren, tendrán respeto.

Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him.

The lord of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. It may be that seeing him, they will respect him.’

Ma i vignaiuoli veduto che l'ebbero, la discorsero tra di loro, e dissero: Questo è l'erede, ammazziamolo, perché nostra sia l'eredità.

Mas los labradores, viéndole, pensaron entre sí, diciendo: Este es el heredero; venid, matémosle para que la heredad sea nuestra.

But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.

“But when the farmers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.’

E cacciatolo fuora della vigna, lo ammazzarono. Che farà adunque di costoro il padrone della vigna?

Y echáronle fuera de la viña, y le mataron. ¿Qué pues, les hará el señor de la viña?

So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?

Then they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do to them?

Verrà, e sterminerà questi vignaiuoli, e darà la vigna ad altri. La qual cosa quegli avendo udita, dissero: Non sia mai questo.

Vendrá, y destruirá á estos labradores, y dará su viña á otros. Y como ellos lo oyeron, dijeron: ¡Dios nos libre!

He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.

He will come and destroy these farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.” When they heard that, they said, “May that never be!”

Egli però miratili fissamente disse: Che è adunque quel, che sta scritto: La pietra rigettata da coloro, che fabbricavano, è divenuta testata dell'angolo?

Mas él mirándolos, dice: ¿Qué pues es lo que está escrito: La piedra que condenaron los edificadores, ésta fué por cabeza de esquina?

And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?

But he looked at them and said, “Then what is this that is written, ‘The stone which the builders rejected was made the chief cornerstone’?

Chiunque cadrà sopra tal pietra, si fracasserà: e sopra cui ella cadrà, lo stritolerà.

Cualquiera que cayere sobre aquella piedra, será quebrantado; mas sobre el que la piedra cayere, le desmenuzará.

Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, but it will crush whomever it falls on to dust.”

E i principi de' sacerdoti, e gli Scribi cercavano di mettergli le mani indosso in quel punto medesimo: ma ebber paura del popolo; imperocché compresero, che questa parabola l'aveva detta per loro.

Y procuraban los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los escribas echarle mano en aquella hora, porque entendieron que contra ellos había dicho esta parábola: mas temieron al pueblo.

And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.

The chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on him that very hour, but they feared the people—for they knew he had spoken this parable against them.

E stando in aguato, mandarono degli emissar;, i quali si fingessero uomini religiosi, per avvilupparlo in discorsi, a fin di metterlo nelle mani del principato, e della podestà, del preside.

Y acechándole enviaron espías que se simulasen justos, para sorprenderle en palabras, para que le entregasen al principado y á la potestad del presidente.

And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.

They watched him and sent out spies, who pretended to be righteous, that they might trap him in something he said, so as to deliver him up to the power and authority of the governor.

Costoro lo interrogarono e dissero: Maestro, noi sappiamo, che tu parli, e insegni dirittamente: e non hai rispetti umani; ma la via di Dio dimostri con verità:

Los cuales le preguntaron, diciendo: Maestro, sabemos que dices y enseñas bien, y que no tienes respeto á persona; antes enseñas el camino de Dios con verdad.

And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:

They asked him, “Teacher, we know that you say and teach what is right, and aren’t partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God.

E egli lecito a noi di dare il tributo a Cesare, sì, o no?

¿Nos es lícito dar tributo á César, ó no?

Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Cæsar, or no?

Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”

Ma Gesù conoscendo la loro furberia, disse loro: Perché mi tentate voi?

Mas él, entendiendo la astucia de ellos, les dijo: ¿Por qué me tentáis?

But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me?

But he perceived their craftiness, and said to them, “Why do you test me?

Fatemi vedere un denaro. Di chi è l'immagine, e l'iscrizione, che questo porta?. Gli risposer: Di Cesare.

Mostradme la moneda. ¿De quién tiene la imagen y la inscripción? Y respondiendo dijeron: De César.

Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Cæsar’s.

Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?” They answered, “Caesar’s.”

Ed ci disse loro: Rendete dunque a Cesare quel, che è di Cesare; e a Dio quel, che è di Dio.

Entonces les dijo: Pues dad á César lo que es de César; y lo que es de Dios, á Dios.

And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Cæsar the things which be Cæsar’s, and unto God the things which be God’s.

He said to them, “Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

E non poterono intaccare le sue parole dinanzi al popolo: e ammirati della sua risposta si tacquero.

Y no pudieron reprender sus palabras delante del pueblo: antes maravillados de su respuesta, callaron.

And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.

They weren’t able to trap him in his words before the people. They marveled at his answer and were silent.

E si fecer innanzi alcuni de' Sadducei, i quali negano, che siavi risurrezione, e gli fecero un quesito,

Y llegándose unos de los Saduceos, los cuales niegan haber resurrección, le preguntaron,

Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him,

Some of the Sadducees came to him, those who deny that there is a resurrection.

Dicendo: Maestro, ha lasciato a noi scritto Mosè, che ove venga a morire ad alcuno un fratello ammogliato, che sia senza figliuoli, il fratello sposi la moglie di lui, e dia discendenza al fratello.

Diciendo: Maestro, Moisés nos escribió: Si el hermano de alguno muriere teniendo mujer, y muriere sin hijos, que su hermano tome la mujer, y levante simiente á su hermano.

Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man’s brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

They asked him, “Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man’s brother dies having a wife, and he is childless, his brother should take the wife and raise up children for his brother.

Egli erano adunque sette fratelli: e il primo prese moglie, e morì senza figliuoli;

Fueron, pues, siete hermanos: y el primero tomó mujer, y murió sin hijos.

There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children.

There were therefore seven brothers. The first took a wife, and died childless.

E il secondo sposò la donna, e morì anch'egli senza figliuoli.

Y la tomó el segundo, el cual también murió sin hijos.

And the second took her to wife, and he died childless.

The second took her as wife, and he died childless.

E il terzo la sposò. E il simil fecero tutti gli altri, e non lasciaron figliuoli, e morirono.

Y la tomó el tercero: asimismo también todos siete: y murieron sin dejar prole.

And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died.

The third took her, and likewise the seven all left no children, and died.

Morì dopo di tutti anche la donna.

Y á la postre de todos murió también la mujer.

Last of all the woman died also.

Afterward the woman also died.

Nella risurrezione adunque chi di essi avralla in moglie? Conciossiaché ella è stata moglie di tutti sette.

En la resurrección, pues, ¿mujer de cuál de ellos será? porque los siete la tuvieron por mujer.

Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.

Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them will she be? For the seven had her as a wife.”

E Gesù disse loro: Tra i figliuoli di questo secolo vi è moglie, e marito:

Entonces respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Los hijos de este siglo se casan, y son dados en casamiento:

And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:

Jesus said to them, “The children of this age marry and are given in marriage.

Ma coloro, che saran giudicati degni di quell'altro secolo, e di risorger da morte, né si ammogliano, né si maritano:

Mas los que fueren tenidos por dignos de aquel siglo y de la resurrección de los muertos, ni se casan, ni son dados en casamiento:

But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

But those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage.

Conciossiaché non potranno più morire: perché sono simili agli Angeli, e sono figliuoli di Dio, essendo figliuoli della risurrezione.

Porque no pueden ya más morir: porque son iguales á los ángeles, y son hijos de Dios, cuando son hijos de la resurrección.

Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

For they can’t die any more, for they are like the angels and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.

Che poi siano per risuscitare i morti, dimostrollo anche Mosè presso al roveto, chiamando il Signore il Dio di Abramo, e il Dio di Isacco, e il Dio di Giacobbe.

Y que los muertos hayan de resucitar, aun Moisés lo enseñó en el pasaje de la zarza, cuando llama al Señor: Dios de Abraham, y Dios de Isaac, y Dios de Jacob.

Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.

But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he called the Lord ‘The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’

Or ei non è il Dio de' morti, ma de' vivi: imperocché per lui tutti sono vivi.

Porque Dios no es Dios de muertos, mas de vivos: porque todos viven á él.

For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.

Now he is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for all are alive to him.”

E alcuni degli Scribi preser la parola, e gli dissero: Maestro, hai parlato bene.

Y respondiéndole unos de los escribas, dijeron: Maestro, bien has dicho.

Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said.

Some of the scribes answered, “Teacher, you speak well.”

E nissuno più ardiva di interrogarlo.

Y no osaron más preguntarle algo.

And after that they durst not ask him any question at all.

They didn’t dare to ask him any more questions.

Ma egli disse loro: Come mai dicono, che il Cristo sia figliuolo di David?

Y él les dijo: ¿Cómo dicen que el Cristo es hijo de David?

And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David’s son?

He said to them, “Why do they say that the Christ is David’s son?

E lo stesso Davidde dice nel libro de' Salmi: il Signore ha detto al mio Signore: Siedi alla mia destra,

Y el mismo David dice en el libro de los Salmos: Dijo el Señor á mi Señor: Siéntate á mi diestra,

And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

David himself says in the book of Psalms, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand,

Sino a tanto che io metta i tuoi nemici quale sgabello a' tuoi piedi.

Entre tanto que pongo tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies.

Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet.”’

Davidde adunque lo chiama Signore: e come è egli suo figliuolo?

Así que David le llama Señor: ¿cómo pues es su hijo?

David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?

“David therefore calls him Lord, so how is he his son?”

E a sentita di tutto il popolo disse a' suoi discepoli:

Y oyéndole todo el pueblo, dijo á sus discípulos:

Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples,

In the hearing of all the people, he said to his disciples,

Guardatevi dagli Scribi, i quali vogliono camminare in lunghe vesti, e amano di essere salutati nel foro, e di avere le prime sedie nelle sinagoghe, e i primi posti ne' conviti:

Guardaos de los escribas, que quieren andar con ropas largas, y aman las salutaciones en las plazas, y las primeras sillas en las sinagogas, y los primeros asientos en las cenas;

Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;

“Beware of those scribes who like to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts;

I quali col pretesto di lunghe orazioni divoran le case delle vedove. Costoro incorreranno più rigorosa condanna. Preferisce la vedova, che faceva l'offerta di due piccioli, ai ricchi, che molto offerivano. Predice la rovina del tempio, e le varie guerre, e afflizioni, e persecuzioni, contro le quali incoraggisce gli Apostoli. Predice ancora la distruzione di Gerusalemme, e la schiavitù, e dispersione de' Giudei. De' segni, che precederanno il giudizio. Guardarsi dalla crapola, dall'ubriacchezza, e dalle cure di questa vita; vegliare, e orare.

Que devoran las casas de las viudas, poniendo por pretexto la larga oración: éstos recibirán mayor condenación.

Which devour widows’ houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.

who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.”
