1Es trafen aber zu eben der Zeit etliche ein, die ihm die Nachricht brachten von den Galiläern, deren Blut Pilatus mit ihren Opfern mischte.
2Und er antwortete und sagte zu ihnen: meint ihr, daß diese Galiläer vor allen Galiläern Sünder waren, weil sie dieses erlitten?
3Mit nichten, sage ich euch, sondern wenn ihr nicht Buße thut, werdet ihr alle ebenso umkommen.
4Oder jene achtzehn, auf welche der Thurm in Siloam fiel und erschlug sie, meint ihr, daß sie schuldig gewesen vor allen Bewohnern von Jerusalem?
5Mit nichten, sage ich euch, sondern wenn ihr nicht Buße thut, werdet ihr alle ebenso umkommen.
6Er sagte aber folgendes Gleichnis: es hatte einer einen Feigenbaum, der in seinem Weinberg stand, und kam um Frucht daran zu suchen und fand keine.
7Er sprach aber zu dem Weingärtner: siehe, drei Jahre sind es, daß ich komme und Frucht suche an diesem Feigenbaum und finde keine. Haue ihn heraus, für was soll er noch den Boden wegnehmen?
8Er aber antwortete ihm: Herr, laß ihn noch dieses Jahr, indessen will ich ihn noch umgraben und düngen;
9vielleicht bringt er künftig Frucht; wo nicht, so magst du ihn heraushauen lassen.
10Er war aber beim Lehren in einer Synagoge am Sabbat,
11und siehe, da war eine Frau, die achtzehn Jahre lang einen Geist der Krankheit hatte, und sie war verkrümmt, unfähig sich ordentlich aufzurichten.
12Als aber Jesus sie erblickte, rief er sie herbei und sagte zu ihr: Weib, du bist los von deiner Krankheit,
13und legte ihr die Hände auf, und alsbald wurde sie gerade und pries Gott.
14Der Synagogenvorsteher aber, im Unwillen darüber, daß Jesus am Sabbat heilte, nahm das Wort und sagte zu der Menge: Es sind sechs Tage, an welchen man arbeiten soll; an diesen kommt und lasset euch heilen, und nicht am Sabbattage.
15Der Herr aber antwortete ihm und sprach: Heuchler, löst nicht jeder von euch am Sabbat seinen Ochsen oder Esel von der Krippe, und führt ihn zum Tränken?
16Diese Tochter Abrahams aber, welche der Satan siehe achtzehn Jahre gebunden hatte, sollte nicht befreit werden von dieser Fessel am Sabbattage?
17Und wie er dieses sagte, schämten sich alle seine Widersacher, und die ganze Menge freute sich über alle seine herrlichen Thaten.
18So sagte er nun: wem ist das Reich Gottes ähnlich? und wem soll ich es vergleichen?
19Es ist ähnlich einem Senfkorn, welches ein Mensch nahm und in seinem Garten auswarf, und es wuchs und ward zu einem Baum, und die Vögel des Himmels nisteten in seinen Zweigen.
20Und wiederum sagte er: wem soll ich das Reich Gottes vergleichen?
21Es ist einem Sauerteig ähnlich, den eine Frau nahm und legte ihn ein in drei Sat Weizenmehl, bis es ganz durchsäuert ward.
22Und er wanderte von Stadt zu Stadt, und von Dorf zu Dorf und lehrte, und verfolgte den Weg nach Jerusalem.
23Es sprach aber einer zu ihm: Herr, sind es wenige, die gerettet werden? Er aber sagte zu ihnen:
24ringet darnach, einzugehen durch die enge Pforte, denn viele, sage ich euch, werden hineinzukommen suchen, und werden es nicht dahin bringen.
25Denn wenn erst der Hausherr sich erhoben und die Thüre abgeschlossen hat, und ihr fanget an, draußen an die Thüre zu klopfen, und zu sagen: Herr, öffne uns, so wird er euch antworten: ich weiß nicht von euch woher ihr seid.
26Dann werdet ihr anheben zu sagen: wir haben vor dir gegessen und getrunken und du hast in unseren Gassen gelehrt.
27Und er wird sprechen zu euch: ich sage euch, ich weiß nicht woher ihr seid; weichet von mir alle ihr Thäter der Ungerechtigkeit.
28Da wird es zum Heulen kommen und zum Zähneknirschen, wenn ihr sehen werdet Abraham und Isaak und Jakob und die Propheten alle im Reiche Gottes, euch aber hinausgeworfen.
29Und sie werden kommen von Morgen und Abend und Mitternacht und Mittag, und werden zu Tische sitzen im Reiche Gottes.
30Und siehe es gibt letzte welche die ersten sein werden, und erste welche die letzten sein werden.
31In derselben Stunde traten einige Pharisäer herzu und sagten zu ihm: gehe und ziehe weg von hier, denn Herodes will dich töten.
32Und er sagte zu ihnen: gehet hin und saget diesem Fuchs: siehe ich treibe Dämonen aus, und vollbringe Heilungen heute und morgen und am dritten bin ich am Ziel.
33Doch heute und morgen und am folgenden muß ich wandern, denn es darf kein Prophet umkommen außerhalb Jerusalem.
34Jerusalem, Jerusalem, die du tötest die Propheten und steinigst die zu dir gesandt sind, wie oft wollte ich deine Kinder versammeln, wie die Henne ihre Brut unter die Flügel; und ihr habt nicht gewollt.
35Siehe, euer Haus werdet ihr dahin haben. Ich sage euch, ihr sollt mich nimmermehr sehen, bis die Zeit kommt, da ihr sprechet: gesegnet, der da kommt im Namen des Herrn.

1Y EN este mismo tiempo estaban allí unos que le contaban acerca de los Galileos, cuya sangre Pilato había mezclado con sus sacrificios.
2Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: ¿Pensáis que estos Galileos, porque han padecido tales cosas, hayan sido más pecadores que todos los Galileos?
3No, os digo; antes si no os arrepintiereis, todos pereceréis igualmente.
4O aquellos dieciocho, sobre los cuales cayó la torre en Siloé, y los mató, ¿pensáis que ellos fueron más deudores que todos los hombres que habitan en Jerusalem?
5No, os digo; antes si no os arrepintiereis, todos pereceréis asimismo.
6Y dijo esta parábola: Tenía uno una higuera plantada en su viña, y vino á buscar fruto en ella, y no lo halló.
7Y dijo al viñero: He aquí tres años ha que vengo á buscar fruto en esta higuera, y no lo hallo; córtala, ¿por qué ocupará aún la tierra?
8El entonces respondiendo, le dijo: Señor, déjala aún este año, hasta que la excave, y estercole.
9Y si hiciere fruto, bien; y si no, la cortarás después.
10Y enseñaba en una sinagoga en sábado.
11Y he aquí una mujer que tenía espíritu de enfermedad dieciocho años, y andaba agobiada, que en ninguna manera se podía enhestar.
12Y como Jesús la vió, llamóla, y díjole: Mujer, libre eres de tu enfermedad.
13Y puso las manos sobre ella; y luego se enderezó, y glorificaba á Dios.
14Y respondiendo el príncipe de la sinagoga, enojado de que Jesús hubiese curado en sábado, dijo á la compañía: Seis días hay en que es necesario obrar: en estos, pues, venid y sed curados, y no en día de sábado.
15Entonces el Señor le respondió, y dijo: Hipócrita, cada uno de vosotros ¿no desata en sábado su buey ó su asno del pesebre, y lo lleva á beber?
16Y á esta hija de Abraham, que he aquí Satanás la había ligado dieciocho años, ¿no convino desatarla de esta ligadura en día de sábado?
17Y diciendo estas cosas, se avergonzaban todos sus adversarios: mas todo el pueblo se gozaba de todas las cosas gloriosas que eran por él hechas.
18Y dijo: ¿A qué es semejante el reino de Dios, y á qué le compararé?
19Semejante es al grano de la mostaza, que tomándolo un hombre lo metió en su huerto; y creció, y fué hecho árbol grande, y las aves del cielo hicieron nidos en sus ramas.
20Y otra vez dijo: ¿A qué compararé el reino de Dios?
21Semejante es á la levadura, que tomó una mujer, y la escondió en tres medidas de harina, hasta que todo hubo fermentado.
22Y pasaba por todas las ciudades y aldeas, enseñando, y caminando á Jerusalem.
23Y díjole uno: Señor, ¿son pocos los que se salvan? Y él les dijo:
24Porfiad á entrar por la puerta angosta; porque os digo que muchos procurarán entrar, y no podrán.
25Después que el padre de familia se levantare, y cerrare la puerta, y comenzareis á estar fuera, y llamar á la puerta, diciendo: Señor, Señor, ábrenos; y respondiendo os dirá: No os conozco de dónde seáis.
26Entonces comenzaréis á decir: Delante de ti hemos comido y bebido, y en nuestras plazas enseñaste;
27Y os dirá: Dígoos que no os conozco de dónde seáis; apartaos de mí todos los obreros de iniquidad.
28Allí será el llanto y el crujir de dientes, cuando viereis á Abraham, y á Isaac, y á Jacob, y á todos los profetas en el reino de Dios, y vosotros excluídos.
29Y vendrán del Oriente y del Occidente, del Norte y del Mediodía, y se sentarán á la mesa en el reino de Dios.
30Y he aquí, son postreros los que eran los primeros; y son primeros los que eran los postreros.
31Aquel mismo día llegaron unos de los Fariseos, diciéndole: Sal, y vete de aquí, porque Herodes te quiere matar.
32Y les dijo: Id, y decid á aquella zorra: He aquí, echo fuera demonios y acabo sanidades hoy y mañana, y al tercer día soy consumado.
33Empero es menester que hoy, y mañana, y pasado mañana camine; porque no es posible que profeta muera fuera de Jerusalem.
34¡Jerusalem, Jerusalem! que matas á los profetas, y apedreas á los que son enviados á ti: ¡cuántas veces quise juntar tus hijos, como la gallina sus pollos debajo de sus alas, y no quisiste!
35He aquí, os es dejada vuestra casa desierta: y os digo que no me veréis, hasta que venga tiempo cuando digáis: Bendito el que viene en nombre del Señor.

1There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilæans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilæans were sinners above all the Galilæans, because they suffered such things?
3I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
4Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
5I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
6He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
7Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
8And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
9And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
10And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.
11And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.
12And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.
13And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
14And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
15The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?
16And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
17And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
18Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?
19It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.
20And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?
21It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
22And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
23Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
24Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
25When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
26Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
27But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
28There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
29And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
30And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.
31The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.
32And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
33Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
34O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!
35Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

1Now there were some present at the same time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
2Jesus answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered such things?
3I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.
4Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them—do you think that they were worse offenders than all the men who dwell in Jerusalem?
5I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.”
6He spoke this parable. “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none.
7He said to the vine dresser, ‘Behold, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down! Why does it waste the soil?’
8He answered, ‘Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it.
9If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.’”
10He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day.
11Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years. She was bent over and could in no way straighten herself up.
12When Jesus saw her, he called her and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.”
13He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight and glorified God.
14The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, “There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!”
15Therefore the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath and lead him away to water?
16Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”
17As he said these things, all his adversaries were disappointed; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
18He said, “What is God’s Kingdom like? To what shall I compare it?
19It is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and put in his own garden. It grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the sky live in its branches.”
20Again he said, “To what shall I compare God’s Kingdom?
21It is like yeast, which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened.”
22He went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and traveling on to Jerusalem.
23One said to him, “Lord, are they few who are saved?” He said to them,
24“Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in and will not be able.
25When once the master of the house has risen up and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
26Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’
27He will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’
28There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in God’s Kingdom, and yourselves being thrown outside.
29They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in God’s Kingdom.
30Behold, there are some who are last who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last.”
31On that same day, some Pharisees came, saying to him, “Get out of here and go away, for Herod wants to kill you.”
32He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.
33Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it can’t be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem.’
34“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!
35Behold, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
