Lucas 12

Mientras tanto, cuando miles de personas estaban reunidas, tantos que se atropellaban unos a otros, Él empezó a decirles a sus discípulos primero que a todos: "Cuidado con la levadura de los fariseos, la cual es hipocresía.

EN esto, juntándose muchas gentes, tanto que unos á otros se hollaban, comenzó á decir á sus discípulos, primeramente: Guardaos de la levadura de los Fariseos, que es hipocresía.

In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Meanwhile, when a multitude of many thousands had gathered together, so much so that they trampled on each other, he began to tell his disciples first of all, “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Pero no hay nada oculto, que no sea revelado, y nada escondido, que no se sepa.

Porque nada hay encubierto, que no haya de ser descubierto; ni oculto, que no haya de ser sabido.

For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.

Así que cualquier cosa dicha en las tinieblas será escuchado en la luz, y lo que has hablado en el oído en los cuartos de adentro, será proclamado desde las azoteas.

Por tanto, las cosas que dijisteis en tinieblas, á la luz serán oídas; y lo que hablasteis al oído en las cámaras, será pregonado en los terrados.

Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.

Yo les digo a ustedes mis amigos, no tengan miedo de aquellos quienes matan el cuerpo, y después de eso ellos no tienen nada más que hacer.

Mas os digo, amigos míos: No temáis de los que matan el cuerpo, y después no tienen más que hacer.

And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

“I tell you, my friends, don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

Pero Yo les advertiré a ustedes acerca de a quienes temer. Teman a aquel quien, después de matar, tiene autoridad para tirarlos en el infierno. Sí, Yo les digo, témanle.

Mas os enseñaré á quién temáis: temed á aquel que después de haber quitado la vida, tiene poder de echar en la Gehenna: así os digo: á éste temed.

But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

But I will warn you whom you should fear. Fear him who after he has killed, has power to cast into Gehenna. Yes, I tell you, fear him.

¿No son vendidos cinco gorriones por dos pequeñas monedas? Todavía ninguno de ellos es olvidado a la vista de Dios.

¿No se venden cinco pajarillos por dos blancas? pues ni uno de ellos está olvidado delante de Dios.

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

“Aren’t five sparrows sold for two assaria coins? Not one of them is forgotten by God.

Pero aún todos los cabellos de su cabeza son contados. No tengan miedo. Ustedes son más valiosos que muchos gorriones.

Y aun los cabellos de vuestra cabeza están todos contados. No temáis pues: de más estima sois que muchos pajarillos.

But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

But the very hairs of your head are all counted. Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.

Yo les digo, quien me confiesa delante de los hombres, el Hijo del Hombre también le confesará ante los ángeles de Dios,

Y os digo que todo aquel que me confesare delante de los hombres, también el Hijo del hombre le confesará delante de los ángeles de Dios;

Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:

“I tell you, everyone who confesses me before men, the Son of Man will also confess before the angels of God;

pero el que me niegue ante los hombres será negado ante los ángeles de Dios.

Mas el que me negare delante de los hombres, será negado delante de los ángeles de Dios.

But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

but he who denies me in the presence of men will be denied in the presence of God’s angels.

Cualquiera que hable una palabra en contra del Hijo del Hombre, le será perdonado, pero para aquel que blasfeme contra el Espíritu Santo, eso no le será perdonado.

Y todo aquel que dice palabra contra el Hijo del hombre, le será perdonado; mas al que blasfemare contra el Espíritu Santo, no le será perdonado.

And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but those who blaspheme against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

Cuando los lleven ante las sinagogas, los gobernantes y las autoridades, no se preocupen acerca de cómo hablar en su defensa, o que dirán,

Y cuando os trajeren á las sinagogas, y á los magistrados y potestades, no estéis solícitos cómo ó qué hayáis de responder, ó qué hayáis de decir;

And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

When they bring you before the synagogues, the rulers, and the authorities, don’t be anxious how or what you will answer or what you will say;

porque el Espíritu Santo les enseñará en esa hora qué deberán decir."

Porque el Espíritu Santo os enseñará en la misma hora lo que será necesario decir.

For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that same hour what you must say.”

Entonces alguien de la multitud le dijo a Él: "Maestro, dile a mi hermano que divida su herencia conmigo."

Y díjole uno de la compañía: Maestro, di á mi hermano que parta conmigo la herencia.

And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.

One of the multitude said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

Jesús le dijo: "Hombre, ¿quién me hizo juez o mediador sobre ti?"

Mas él le dijo: Hombre, ¿quién me puso por juez ó partidor sobre vosotros?

And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?

But he said to him, “Man, who made me a judge or an arbitrator over you?”

Y Él les dijo: "Velen que ustedes se guarden de todo deseo de avaricia, porque la vida de una persona no consiste en la abundancia de sus posesiones."

Y díjoles: Mirad, y guardaos de toda avaricia; porque la vida del hombre no consiste en la abundancia de los bienes que posee.

And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

He said to them, “Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.”

Luego Jesús les dijo una parábola, diciendo: "La tierra de un hombre rico había producido abundantemente,

Y refirióles una parábola, diciendo: La heredad de un hombre rico había llevado mucho;

And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

He spoke a parable to them, saying, “The ground of a certain rich man produced abundantly.

y él razonó consigo mismo, diciendo: '¿Qué yo haré, porque no tengo un lugar para guardar mis cosechas?

Y él pensaba dentro de sí, diciendo: ¿Qué haré, porque no tengo donde juntar mis frutos?

And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

He reasoned within himself, saying, ‘What will I do, because I don’t have room to store my crops?’

Él dijo: 'Esto es lo que yo haré. Yo destruiré mis graneros y construiré unos más grandes, y ahí guardaré todos mis granos y otros bienes.

Y dijo: Esto haré: derribaré mis alfolíes, y los edificaré mayores, y allí juntaré todos mis frutos y mis bienes;

And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

He said, ‘This is what I will do. I will pull down my barns, build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.

Yo le diré a mi alma: "Alma, tienes muchos bienes guardados para muchos años. Descansa tranquilo, come, bebe, alégrate."

Y diré á mi alma: Alma, muchos bienes tienes almacenados para muchos años; repósate, come, bebe, huélgate.

And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

I will tell my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry.”’

Pero Dios le dijo: 'Hombre necio, esta noche se requiere tu alma, y las cosas que has preparado, ¿de quién serán?'

Y díjole Dios: Necio, esta noche vuelven á pedir tu alma; y lo que has prevenido, ¿de quién será?

But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

“But God said to him, ‘You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared—whose will they be?’

Así es alguien que guarda tesoros para sí mismo y no es rico delante de Dios."

Así es el que hace para sí tesoro, y no es rico en Dios.

So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

Jesús le dijo a sus discípulos: "Por tanto les digo a ustedes, no se preocupen por su vida, qué comerán, o acerca de sus cuerpos, qué vestirán.

Y dijo á sus discípulos: Por tanto os digo: No estéis afanosos de vuestra vida, qué comeréis; ni del cuerpo, qué vestiréis.

And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

He said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear.

Porque la vida es más que comida, y el cuerpo es más que la ropa.

La vida más es que la comida, y el cuerpo que el vestido.

The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.

Consideren los cuervos, que ellos no siembran ni cosechan. Ellos no tienen cuarto para almacenar o granero, pero Dios los alimenta. ¡Cuánto más valiosos son ustedes que las aves!

Considerad los cuervos, que ni siembran, ni siegan; que ni tienen cillero, ni alfolí; y Dios los alimenta. ¿Cuánto de más estima sois vosotros que las aves?

Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?

Consider the ravens: they don’t sow, they don’t reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds!

¿Y cuáles de ustedes por estar ansiosos pueden añadir un codo a sus años de vida?

¿Y quién de vosotros podrá con afán añadir á su estatura un codo?

And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?

Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his height?

Si después ustedes no son capaces de hacer ni las cosas más pequeñas, ¿por qué han de preocuparse por lo demás?

Pues si no podéis aun lo que es menos, ¿para qué estaréis afanosos de lo demás?

If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?

If then you aren’t able to do even the least things, why are you anxious about the rest?

Cosideren los lirios, cómo ellos crecen. Ellos no laboran, ni siquiera hilan. Todavía les digo, Salomón en toda su gloria no se vistió como uno de estos.

Considerad los lirios, cómo crecen: no labran, ni hilan; y os digo, que ni Salomón con toda su gloria se vistió como uno de ellos.

Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Consider the lilies, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Si Dios viste la hierba de los campos, la cual existe hoy, y mañana es tirada al horno, cuánto más los vestirá a ustedes, ¡oh ustedes de poca fe!

Y si así viste Dios á la hierba, que hoy está en el campo, y mañana es echada en el horno; ¿cuánto más á vosotros, hombres de poca fe?

If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

But if this is how God clothes the grass in the field, which today exists and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith?

No busquen por lo que deben comer, o lo que deben beber, y no estén ansiosos.

Vosotros, pues, no procuréis qué hayáis de comer, ó qué hayáis de beber; ni estéis en ansiosa perplejidad.

And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.

“Don’t seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious.

Porque todas las naciones del mundo miran estas cosas, y su Padre sabe que ustedes necesitan estas cosas.

Porque todas estas cosas buscan las gentes del mundo; que vuestro Padre sabe que necesitáis estas cosas.

For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things.

Pero busquen su reino, y todas estas cosas serán añadidas.

Mas procurad el reino de Dios, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.

But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

But seek God’s Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you.

No tengan miedo, manada pequeña, porque su Padre está muy complacido en darles el reino.

No temáis, manada pequeña; porque al Padre ha placido daros el reino.

Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

“Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.

Vendan sus posesiones y denlas a los pobres. Háganse carteras las cuáles no se gasten, tesoros en los cielos que no se agotan, donde ningún ladrón se acerque, y ninguna polilla destruya.

Vended lo que poseéis, y dad limosna; haceos bolsas que no se envejecen, tesoro en los cielos que nunca falta; donde ladrón no llega, ni polilla corrompe.

Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

Sell what you have and give gifts to the needy. Make for yourselves purses which don’t grow old, a treasure in the heavens that doesn’t fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.

Porque donde sus tesoros estén, allí estarán también sus corazones.

Porque donde está vuestro tesoro, allí también estará vuestro corazón.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Dejen que sus largos vestidos estén metidos dentro de sus correas, y dejen que sus lámparas se mantengan encendidas,

Estén ceñidos vuestros lomos, y vuestras antorchas encendidas;

Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

“Let your waist be dressed and your lamps burning.

y sean como las personas que están esperando que su maestro regrese de la fiesta del casamiento, para que cuando él venga y toque, ellos inmediatamente abran la puerta para él.

Y vosotros semejantes á hombres que esperan cuando su señor ha de volver de las bodas; para que cuando viniere y llamare, luego le abran.

And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.

Be like men watching for their lord when he returns from the wedding feast, that when he comes and knocks, they may immediately open to him.

Benditos son esos siervos, a quienes el señor les encontrará vigilando cuando él venga. Verdaderamente les digo que colocará su túnica en su correa, les hará sentar para una comida, y vendrá y les servirá.

Bienaventurados aquellos siervos, á los cuales cuando el Señor viniere, hallare velando: de cierto os digo, que se ceñirá, y hará que se sienten á la mesa, y pasando les servirá.

Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

Blessed are those servants whom the lord will find watching when he comes. Most certainly I tell you that he will dress himself, make them recline, and will come and serve them.

Si el señor viene en la segunda vigilia de la noche, o si aún en la tercera vigilia, y los encuentra listos, benditos serán esos siervos.

Y aunque venga á la segunda vigilia, y aunque venga á la tercera vigilia, y los hallare así, bienaventurados son los tales siervos.

And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

They will be blessed if he comes in the second or third watch and finds them so.

Más aún sepan esto, que si el señor de la casa supiera la hora en que el ladrón vendría, él no hubiera permitido que la casa fuera robada.

Esto empero sabed, que si supiese el padre de familia á qué hora había de venir el ladrón, velaría ciertamente, y no dejaría minar su casa.

And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.

Estén preparados también, porque ustedes no saben la hora cuando el Hijo del Hombre venga."

Vosotros pues también, estad apercibidos; porque á la hora que no pensáis, el Hijo del hombre vendrá.

Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

Therefore be ready also, for the Son of Man is coming in an hour that you don’t expect him.”

Pedro dijo: "Señor, ¿estás diciendo esta parábola solo a nosotros, o también a todos?"

Entonces Pedro le dijo: Señor, ¿dices esta parábola á nosotros, ó también á todos?

Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?

Peter said to him, “Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everybody?”

El Señor dijo: "Pues, ¿quién es el fiel y sabio mayordomo a quien su señor pondrá por encima de sus otros siervos para darle su porción de comida en el tiempo correcto?

Y dijo el Señor: ¿Quién es el mayordomo fiel y prudente, al cual el señor pondrá sobre su familia, para que á tiempo les dé su ración?

And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

The Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his lord will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the right times?

Bendito es ese siervo, a quien su señor encuentre haciendo eso cuando él venga.

Bienaventurado aquel siervo, al cual, cuando el señor viniere, hallare haciendo así.

Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

Blessed is that servant whom his lord will find doing so when he comes.

Verdaderamente les digo que él lo pondrá a cargo de toda su propiedad.

En verdad os digo, que él le pondrá sobre todos sus bienes.

Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.

Truly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has.

Pero si ese siervo dice en su corazón: 'Mi señor retrasa su regreso,' y comienza a golpear a los siervos y siervas, y a comer y a beber, y a emborracharse,

Mas si el tal siervo dijere en su corazón: Mi señor tarda en venir: y comenzare á herir á los siervos y á las criadas, y á comer y á beber y á embriagarse;

But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;

But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My lord delays his coming,’ and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants, and to eat and drink and to be drunken,

el señor de ese siervo vendrá en un día cuando él no lo espera, y en una hora que él que no sabe, y lo cortará en pedazos y señalará para él un lugar con los incrédulos.

Vendrá el señor de aquel siervo el día que no espera, y á la hora que no sabe, y le apartará, y pondrá su parte con los infieles.

The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

then the lord of that servant will come in a day when he isn’t expecting him and in an hour that he doesn’t know, and will cut him in two, and place his portion with the unfaithful.

Ese siervo, habiendo conocido la voluntad de su señor, y no habiendo preparado o hecho de acuerdo a su voluntad, será golpeado con muchos azotes.

Porque el siervo que entendió la voluntad de su señor, y no se apercibió, ni hizo conforme á su voluntad, será azotado mucho.

And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

That servant who knew his lord’s will, and didn’t prepare nor do what he wanted, will be beaten with many stripes,

Pero él que no sabía, e hizo cosas merecedoras de golpes, será golpeado con pocos azotes. Todo aquel a quien se le da mucho, mucho se le requiere, y a quien se le confía mucho, ellos le pedirán aún más de él.

Mas el que no entendió, é hizo cosas dignas de azotes, será azotado poco: porque á cualquiera que fué dado mucho, mucho será vuelto á demandar de él; y al que encomendaron mucho, más le será pedido.

But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

but he who didn’t know, and did things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few stripes. To whomever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom much was entrusted, of him more will be asked.

Yo vine para echar fuego sobre la tierra, y cómo deseo que ya estuviese encendido.

Fuego vine á meter en la tierra: ¿y qué quiero, si ya está encendido?

I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?

“I came to throw fire on the earth. I wish it were already kindled.

Pero tengo un bautismo para ser bautizado, y ¡como yo estoy afligido hasta que sea completado!

Empero de bautismo me es necesario ser bautizado: y ¡cómo me angustio hasta que sea cumplido!

But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!

¿Piensas que yo vine a traer paz a la tierra? No, yo les digo, pero en cambio división.

¿Pensáis que he venido á la tierra á dar paz? No, os digo; mas disensión.

Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

Do you think that I have come to give peace in the earth? I tell you, no, but rather division.

Pues de ahora en adelante serán cinco en una casa dividida, tres personas contra dos, y dos personas contra tres.

Porque estarán de aquí adelante cinco en una casa divididos; tres contra dos, y dos contra tres.

For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

For from now on, there will be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

Ellos estarán divididos: padre contra hijo, hijo contra padre, madre contra hija e hija contra madre; suegra contra nuera y nuera contra suegra."

El padre estará dividido contra el hijo, y el hijo contra el padre; la madre contra la hija, y la hija contra la madre; la suegra contra su nuera, y la nuera contra su suegra.

The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

They will be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

Jesús también le decía a las multitudes: "Cuando ustedes ven una nube levantándose en el oeste, ustedes dicen inmediatamente: 'Viene lluvia' y así sucede.

Y decía también á las gentes: Cuando veis la nube que sale del poniente, luego decís: Agua viene; y es así.

And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.

He said to the multitudes also, “When you see a cloud rising from the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming,’ and so it happens.

Y cuando el viento del sur está soplando, ustedes dicen: 'Hará un calor abrasador' y así sucede.

Y cuando sopla el austro, decís: Habrá calor; y lo hay.

And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.

When a south wind blows, you say, ‘There will be a scorching heat,’ and it happens.

Hipócritas, ustedes saben cómo interpretar las apariencias de la tierra y de los cielos, pero, ¿cómo es que ustedes no saben cómo interpretar el tiempo presente?

¡Hipócritas! Sabéis examinar la faz del cielo y de la tierra; ¿y cómo no reconocéis este tiempo?

Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky, but how is it that you don’t interpret this time?

¿Por qué no juzgan lo que es correcto para ustedes mismos?

¿Y por qué aun de vosotros mismos no juzgáis lo que es justo?

“Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?

Porque cuando ustedes van con su adversario ante el magistrado, en el camino hacen un esfuerzo por resolver el asunto con él, para que él no les arrastre hasta el juez, y para que así el juez no les entregue al oficial, y el oficial no les tire en prisión.

Pues cuando vas al magistrado con tu adversario, procura en el camino librarte de él; porque no te arrastre al juez, y el juez te entregue al alguacil, y el alguacil te meta en la cárcel.

When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.

For when you are going with your adversary before the magistrate, try diligently on the way to be released from him, lest perhaps he drag you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison.
