1"Ne vous faites point de faux dieux; n'érigez point, chez vous, image ni monument, et ne mettez point de pierre symbolique dans votre pays pour vous y prosterner: car c'est moi, Éternel, qui suis votre Dieu.
2Observez mes sabbats et révérez mon sanctuaire: je suis l'Éternel.
3Si vous vous conduisez selon mes lois, si vous gardez mes préceptes et les exécutez,
4je vous donnerai les pluies en leur saison, et la terre livrera son produit, et l'arbre du champ donnera son fruit.
5Le battage de vos grains se prolongera jusqu'à la vendange, et la vendange durera jusqu'aux semailles; vous aurez du pain à manger en abondance, et vous demeurerez en sécurité dans votre pays.
6Je ferai régner la paix dans ce pays, et nul n'y troublera votre repos; je ferai disparaître du pays les animaux nuisibles, et le glaive ne traversera point votre territoire.
7Vous poursuivrez vos ennemis, et ils succomberont sous votre glaive.
8Cinq d'entre vous en poursuivront une centaine, et cent d'entre vous une myriade; et vos ennemis tomberont devant votre glaive.
9Je m'occuperai de vous, je vous ferai croître et multiplier, et je maintiendrai mon alliance avec vous.
10Vous pourrez vivre longtemps sur une récolte passée, et vous devrez enlever l'ancienne pour faire place à la nouvelle.
11Je fixerai ma résidence au milieu de vous, et mon esprit ne se lassera point d'être avec vous;
12mais je me complairai au milieu de vous, et je serai votre Divinité, et vous serez mon peuple.
13Je suis l'Éternel votre Dieu, qui vous ai tirés du pays d'Egypte pour que vous n'y fussiez plus esclaves; et j'ai brisé les barres de votre joug, et je vous ai fait marcher la tête haute.
14Mais si vous ne m'écoutez point, et que vous cessiez d'exécuter tous ces commandements;
15si vous dédaignez mes lois et que votre esprit repousse mes institutions, au point de ne plus observer mes préceptes, de rompre mon alliance,
16à mon tour, voici ce que je vous ferai: je susciterai contre vous d'effrayants fléaux, la consomption, la fièvre, qui font languir les yeux et défaillir l'âme; vous sèmerez en vain votre semence, vos ennemis la consommeront.
17Je dirigerai ma face contre vous, et vous serez abattus devant vos ennemis; ceux qui vous haïssent vous domineront, et vous fuirez sans qu'on vous poursuive.
18Que si malgré cela vous ne m'obéissez pas encore, je redoublerai jusqu'au septuple le châtiment de vos fautes.
19Je briserai votre arrogante audace, en faisant votre ciel de fer et votre terre d'airain;
20et vous vous épuiserez en vains efforts, votre terre refusera son tribut, et ses arbres refuseront leurs fruits.
21Si vous agissez hostilement à mon égard, si vous persistez à ne point m'obéir, je vous frapperai de nouvelles plaies, septuples comme vos fautes.
22Je lâcherai sur vous les bêtes sauvages, qui vous priveront de vos enfants, qui extermineront votre bétail, qui vous décimeront vous-mêmes, et vos routes deviendront solitaires.
23Si ces châtiments ne vous ramènent pas à moi et que votre conduite reste hostile à mon égard,
24moi aussi je me conduirai à votre égard avec hostilité, et je vous frapperai, à mon tour, sept fois pour vos péchés.
25Je ferai surgir contre vous le glaive, vengeur des droits de l'Alliance, et vous vous replierez dans vos villes; puis, j'enverrai la peste au milieu de vous, et vous serez à la merci de l'ennemi,
26tandis que je vous couperai les vivres, de sorte que dix femmes cuiront votre pain dans un même four et vous le rapporteront au poids, et que vous le mangerez sans vous rassasier.
27Si, malgré cela, au lieu de m'obéir, vous vous comportez hostilement avec moi,
28je procéderai à votre égard avec une exaspération d'hostilité, et je vous châtierai, à mon tour, sept fois pour vos péchés.
29Vous dévorerez la chair de vos fils, et la chair de vos filles vous la dévorerez.
30Je détruirai vos hauts-lieux, j'abattrai vos monuments solaires, puis je jetterai vos cadavres sur les cadavres de vos impures idoles; et mon esprit vous repoussera.
31Je ferai de vos villes des ruines, de vos lieux saints une solitude, et je ne respirerai point vos pieux parfums.
32Puis, moi-même je désolerai cette terre, si bien que vos ennemis, qui l'occuperont, en seront stupéfaits.
33Et vous, je vous disperserai parmi les nations, et je vous poursuivrai l'épée haute; votre pays restera solitaire, vos villes resteront ruinées.
34Alors la terre acquittera la dette de ses chômages, tandis qu'elle restera désolée et que vous vivrez dans le pays de vos ennemis; alors la terre chômera, et vous fera payer ses chômages.
35Dans toute cette période de désolation, elle chômera pour ce qu'elle n'aura pas chômé dans vos années sabbatiques, alors que vous l'habitiez.
36Pour ceux qui survivront d'entre vous, je leur mettrai la défaillance au cœur dans les pays de leurs ennemis: poursuivis par le bruit de la feuille qui tombe, ils fuiront comme on fuit devant l'épée, ils tomberont sans qu'on les poursuive,
37et ils trébucheront l'un sur l'autre comme à la vue de l'épée, sans que personne les poursuive. Vous ne pourrez vous maintenir devant vos ennemis;
38vous vous perdrez parmi les nations, et le pays de vos ennemis vous dévorera.
39Et les survivants d'entre vous se consumeront, par leur faute, dans les pays de leurs ennemis, et même pour les méfaits de leurs pères ils se consumeront avec eux.
40Puis ils confesseront leur iniquité et celle de leurs pères, leur forfaiture envers moi, et aussi leur conduite hostile à mon égard,
41pour laquelle moi aussi je les aurai traités hostilement, en les déportant au pays de leurs ennemis à moins qu'alors leur cœur obtus ne s'humilie, et alors ils expieront leur iniquité.
42Et je me ressouviendrai de mon alliance avec Jacob; mon alliance aussi avec Isaac, mon alliance aussi avec Abraham, je m'en souviendrai, et la terre aussi, je m'en souviendrai.
43Cette terre restera donc abandonnée par eux, afin que, laissée par eux déserte, elle répare ses chômages, et qu'eux-mêmes ils réparent leur iniquité; parce que, oui, parce qu'ils auront dédaigné mes statuts, et que leur esprit aura repoussé mes lois.
44Et pourtant, même alors, quand ils se trouveront relégués dans le pays de leurs ennemis, je ne les aurai ni dédaignés ni repoussés au point de les anéantir, de dissoudre mon alliance avec eux; car je suis l'Éternel, leur Dieu!
45Et je me rappellerai, en leur faveur, le pacte des aïeux, de ceux que j'ai fait sortir du pays d'Egypte à la vue des peuples pour être leur Dieu, moi l'Éternel."
46Telles sont les ordonnances, les institutions et les doctrines que l'Éternel fit intervenir entre lui et les enfants d'Israël, au mont Sinaï, par l'organe de Moïse.

1NO haréis para vosotros ídolos, ni escultura, ni os levantaréis estatua, ni pondréis en vuestra tierra piedra pintada para inclinaros á ella: porque yo soy Jehová vuestro Dios.
2Guardad mis sábados, y tened en reverencia mi santuario: Yo Jehová.
3Si anduviereis en mis decretos, y guardareis mis mandamientos, y los pusiereis por obra;
4Yo daré vuestra lluvia en su tiempo, y la tierra rendirá sus producciones, y el árbol del campo dará su fruto;
5Y la trilla os alcanzará á la vendimia, y la vendimia alcanzará á la sementera, y comeréis vuestro pan en hartura, y habitaréis seguros en vuestra tierra:
6Y yo daré paz en la tierra, y dormiréis, y no habrá quien os espante: y haré quitar las malas bestias de vuestra tierra, y no pasará por vuestro país la espada:
7Y perseguiréis á vuestros enemigos, y caerán á cuchillo delante de vosotros:
8Y cinco de vosotros perseguirán á ciento, y ciento de vosotros perseguirán á diez mil, y vuestros enemigos caerán á cuchillo delante de vosotros.
9Porque yo me volveré á vosotros, y os haré crecer, y os multiplicaré, y afirmaré mi pacto con vosotros:
10Y comeréis lo añejo de mucho tiempo, y sacaréis fuera lo añejo á causa de lo nuevo:
11Y pondré mi morada en medio de vosotros, y mi alma no os abominará:
12Y andaré entre vosotros, y yo seré vuestro Dios, y vosotros seréis mi pueblo.
13Yo Jehová vuestro Dios, que os saqué de la tierra de Egipto, para que no fueseis sus siervos; y rompí las coyundas de vuestro yugo, y os he hecho andar el rostro alto.
14Empero si no me oyereis, ni hiciereis todos estos mis mandamientos,
15Y si abominareis mis decretos, y vuestra alma menospreciare mis derechos, no ejecutando todos mis mandamientos, é invalidando mi pacto;
16Yo también haré con vosotros esto: enviaré sobre vosotros terror, extenuación y calentura, que consuman los ojos y atormenten el alma: y sembraréis en balde vuestra simiente, porque vuestros enemigos la comerán:
17Y pondré mi ira sobre vosotros, y seréis heridos delante de vuestros enemigos; y los que os aborrecen se enseñorearán de vosotros, y huiréis sin que haya quien os persiga.
18Y si aun con esas cosas no me oyereis, yo tornaré á castigaros siete veces más por vuestros pecados.
19Y quebrantaré la soberbia de vuestra fortaleza, y tornaré vuestro cielo como hierro, y vuestra tierra como metal:
20Y vuestra fuerza se consumirá en vano; que vuestra tierra no dará su esquilmo, y los árboles de la tierra no darán su fruto.
21Y si anduviereis conmigo en oposición, y no me quisiereis oir, yo añadiré sobre vosotros siete veces más plagas según vuestros pecados.
22Enviaré también contra vosotros bestias fieras que os arrebaten los hijos, y destruyan vuestros animales, y os apoquen, y vuestros caminos sean desiertos.
23Y si con estas cosas no fuereis corregidos, sino que anduviereis conmigo en oposición,
24Yo también procederé con vosotros en oposición, y os heriré aun siete veces por vuestros pecados:
25Y traeré sobre vosotros espada vengadora, en vindicación del pacto; y os recogeréis á vuestras ciudades; mas yo enviaré pestilencia entre vosotros, y seréis entregados en mano del enemigo.
26Cuando yo os quebrantare el arrimo del pan, cocerán diez mujeres vuestro pan en un horno, y os devolverán vuestro pan por peso; y comeréis, y no os hartaréis.
27Y si con esto no me oyereis, mas procediereis conmigo en oposición,
28Yo procederé con vosotros en contra y con ira, y os castigaré aun siete veces por vuestros pecados.
29Y comeréis las carnes de vuestros hijos, y comeréis las carnes de vuestras hijas:
30Y destruiré vuestros altos, y talaré vuestras imágenes, y pondré vuestros cuerpos muertos sobre los cuerpos muertos de vuestros ídolos, y mi alma os abominará:
31Y pondré vuestras ciudades en desierto, y asolaré vuestros santuarios, y no oleré la fragancia de vuestro suave perfume.
32Yo asolaré también la tierra, y se pasmarán de ella vuestros enemigos que en ella moran:
33Y á vosotros os esparciré por las gentes, y desenvainaré espada en pos de vosotros: y vuestra tierra estará asolada, y yermas vuestras ciudades.
34Entonces la tierra holgará sus sábados todos los días que estuviere asolada, y vosotros en la tierra de vuestros enemigos: la tierra descansará entonces y gozará sus sábados.
35Todo el tiempo que estará asolada, holgará lo que no holgó en vuestros sábados mientras habitabais en ella.
36Y á los que quedaren de vosotros infundiré en sus corazones tal cobardía, en la tierra de sus enemigos, que el sonido de una hoja movida los perseguirá, y huirán como de cuchillo, y caerán sin que nadie los persiga:
37Y tropezarán los unos en los otros, como si huyeran delante de cuchillo, aunque nadie los persiga; y no podréis resistir delante de vuestros enemigos.
38Y pereceréis entre las gentes, y la tierra de vuestros enemigos os consumirá.
39Y los que quedaren de vosotros decaerán en las tierras de vuestros enemigos por su iniquidad; y por la iniquidad de sus padres decaerán con ellos:
40Y confesarán su iniquidad, y la iniquidad de sus padres, por su prevaricación con que prevaricaron contra mí: y también porque anduvieron conmigo en oposición,
41Yo también habré andado con ellos en contra, y los habré metido en la tierra de sus enemigos: y entonces se humillará su corazón incircunciso, y reconocerán su pecado;
42Y yo me acordaré de mi pacto con Jacob, y asimismo de mi pacto con Isaac, y también de mi pacto con Abraham me acordaré; y haré memoria de la tierra.
43Que la tierra estará desamparada de ellos, y holgará sus sábados, estando yerma á causa de ellos; mas entretanto se someterán al castigo de sus iniquidades: por cuanto menospreciaron mis derechos, y tuvo el alma de ellos fastidio de mis estatutos.
44Y aun con todo esto, estando ellos en tierra de sus enemigos, yo no los desecharé, ni los abominaré para consumirlos, invalidando mi pacto con ellos: porque yo Jehová soy su Dios:
45Antes me acordaré de ellos por el pacto antiguo, cuando los saqué de la tierra de Egipto á los ojos de las gentes, para ser su Dios: Yo Jehová.
46Estos son los decretos, derechos y leyes que estableció Jehová entre sí y los hijos de Israel en el monte de Sinaí por mano de Moisés.

1Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.
2Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.
3If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;
4Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
5And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
6And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
7And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
8And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
9For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.
10And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new.
11And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you.
12And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.
13I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.
14But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments;
15And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:
16I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.
17And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.
18And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.
19And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:
20And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.
21And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.
22I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your high ways shall be desolate.
23And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me;
24Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.
25And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.
26And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.
27And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me;
28Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.
29And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.
30And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.
31And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours.
32And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it.
33And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.
34Then shall the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye be in your enemies’ land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her sabbaths.
35As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.
36And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.
37And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth: and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.
38And ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.
39And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.
40If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me;
41And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:
42Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.
43The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes.
44And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: for I am the LORD their God.
45But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the LORD.
46These are the statutes and judgments and laws, which the LORD made between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.

1“‘You shall make for yourselves no idols, and you shall not raise up a carved image or a pillar, and you shall not place any figured stone in your land, to bow down to it; for I am the LORD your God.
2“‘You shall keep my Sabbaths, and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD.
3“‘If you walk in my statutes and keep my commandments, and do them,
4then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
5Your threshing shall continue until the vintage, and the vintage shall continue until the sowing time. You shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
6“‘I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and no one will make you afraid. I will remove evil animals out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.

15and if you shall reject my statutes, and if your soul abhors my ordinances, so that you will not do all my commandments, but break my covenant,
16I also will do this to you: I will appoint terror over you, even consumption and fever, that shall consume the eyes, and make the soul to pine away. You will sow your seed in vain, for your enemies will eat it.
17I will set my face against you, and you will be struck before your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you; and you will flee when no one pursues you.
18“‘If you in spite of these things will not listen to me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your sins.

34Then the land will enjoy its Sabbaths as long as it lies desolate and you are in your enemies’ land. Even then the land will rest and enjoy its Sabbaths.
35As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, even the rest which it didn’t have in your Sabbaths when you lived on it.
36“‘As for those of you who are left, I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. The sound of a driven leaf will put them to flight; and they shall flee, as one flees from the sword. They will fall when no one pursues.
37They will stumble over one another, as it were before the sword, when no one pursues. You will have no power to stand before your enemies.
38You will perish among the nations. The land of your enemies will eat you up.
39Those of you who are left will pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers they shall pine away with them.
40“‘If they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me; and also that because they walked contrary to me,

46These are the statutes, ordinances, and laws, which the LORD made between him and the children of Israel in Mount Sinai by Moses.
