1L'Éternel parla à Moïse, après la mort des deux fils d'Aaron, qui, s'étant avancés devant l'Éternel, avaient péri,
2et il dit à Moïse: "Signifie à Aaron, ton frère, qu'Il ne peut entrer à toute heure dans le sanctuaire, dans l'enceinte du voile, devant le propitiatoire qui est sur l'arche, s'il ne veut encourir la mort; car je me manifeste, dans un nuage, au-dessus du propitiatoire.
3Voici comment Aaron entrera dans le sanctuaire: avec un jeune taureau comme expiatoire, et un bélier comme holocauste.
4Il sera vêtu d'une tunique de lin consacrée, un caleçon de lin couvrira sa chair; une écharpe de lin le ceindra, et une tiare de lin sera sa coiffure. C'est un costume sacré, il doit se baigner dans l'eau avant de s'en vêtir.
5De la part de la communauté des enfants d'Israël, II prendra deux boucs pour l'expiation et un bélier comme holocauste.
6Et Aaron amènera le taureau expiatoire qui lui est destiné, afin d'obtenir grâce pour lui-même et pour sa maison.
7Et II prendra les deux boucs et les présentera devant le Seigneur, à l'entrée de la Tente d'assignation.
8Aaron tirera au sort pour les deux boucs: un lot sera pour l'Éternel, un lot pour Azazel.
9Aaron devra offrir le bouc que le sort aura désigné pour l'Éternel, et le traiter comme expiatoire;
10et le bouc que le sort aura désigné pour Azazel devra être placé, vivant, devant le Seigneur, pour servir à la propitiation, pour être envoyé à Azazel dans le désert.
11Aaron offrira son taureau expiatoire, fera propitiation pour lui-même et pour sa famille, et Immolera son taureau expiatoire.
12Il remplira l'encensoir de charbons ardents, pris sur l'autel qui est devant le Seigneur; prendra deux pleines poignées d'aromates pilés menu, et introduira le tout dans l'enceinte du voile.
13II jettera le fumigatoire sur le feu, devant le Seigneur, de sorte que le nuage aromatique enveloppe le propitiatoire qui abrite le Statut, et qu'il ne meure point.
14Alors il prendra du sang du taureau, en fera aspersion avec le doigt sur la face du propitiatoire, vers l'orient; et devant le propitiatoire, Il fera sept fois aspersion de ce sang avec le doigt.
15Il immolera le bouc expiatoire du peuple, en portera le sang dans l'enceinte du voile, et, procédant â son égard comme il aura fait pour le sang du taureau, Il en fera aspersion au-dessus du propitiatoire, et en avant du propitiatoire.
16II purifiera ainsi le sanctuaire des souillures des enfants d'Israël, et de leurs transgressions et de toutes leurs fautes; et il agira de même pour la Tente d'assignation, qui réside avec eux, parmi leurs souillures.
17Que personne ne soit dans la Tente d'assignation lorsqu'il entrera pour faire propitiation dans le sanctuaire, jusqu'à sa sortie. Ayant ainsi fait propitiation pour lui-même, pour sa maison et pour toute l'assemblée d'Israël,
18il s'en ira vers l'autel qui est devant le Seigneur, pour en faire la propitiation: il prendra du sang du taureau et de celui du bouc, en appliquera sur les cornes de l'autel, tout autour,
19et fera de ce sang, avec son doigt, sept aspersions sur l'autel, qu'il purifiera et sanctifiera ainsi des souillures des enfants d'Israël.
20Quand il aura achevé de purifier le sanctuaire, la Tente d'assignation et l'autel, il fera amener le bouc vivant.
21Aaron appuiera ses deux mains sur la tête du bouc vivant; confessera, dans cette posture, toutes les iniquités des enfants d'Israël, toutes leurs offenses et tous leurs péchés, et, les ayant ainsi fait passer sur la tête du bouc, l'enverra, sous la conduite d'un exprès, dans le désert.
22Et le bouc emportera sur lui toutes leurs iniquités dans une contrée solitaire, et on lâchera le bouc dans ce désert.
23Aaron rentrera dans la Tente d'assignation; puis il dépouillera les vêtements de lin dont il s'était vêtu pour entrer dans le sanctuaire, et les y déposera.
24II baignera son corps dans l'eau, en lieu saint, et revêtira son costume; s'en ira offrir son holocauste et celui du peuple, et fera propitiation pour lui-même et pour le peuple.
25La graisse de l'expiatoire, il la fera fumer sur l'autel.
26Pour celui qui aura conduit le bouc vers Azazel, il lavera ses vêtements, baignera son corps dans l'eau, et alors seulement rentrera au camp.
27Le taureau expiatoire et le bouc expiatoire, dont le sang aura été introduit, pour la propitiation, dans le sanctuaire, on les transportera hors du camp, et l'on consumera par le feu leur peau, leur chair et leur fiente.
28Celui qui les aura brûlés lavera ses vêtements, baignera son corps dans l'eau, et alors seulement rentrera au camp.
29Et ceci sera pour vous une loi perpétuelle: au septième mois, le dixième jour du mois, vous mortifierez vos personnes et ne ferez aucun ouvrage, soit l'indigène, soit l'étranger séjournant parmi vous.
30Car en ce jour, on fera propitiation sur vous afin de vous purifier; vous serez purs de tous vos péchés devant l'Éternel.
31C'est pour vous un sabbat, un sabbat solennel, où vous devez mortifier vos personnes: loi perpétuelle.
32La propitiation sera accomplie par le pontife qu'on aura oint et installé pour succéder, comme tel, à son père; il revêtira le costume de lin, le costume sacré,
33et il fera propitiation pour le saint sanctuaire, propitiation pour la Tente d'assignation et pour l'autel, propitiation en faveur des pontifes et de tout le peuple réuni. 34 Que cela soit pour vous un statut perpétuel, afin de relever les enfants d'Israël de tous leurs péchés, une fois l'année." Et il agit comme l'Éternel l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

1Y HABLÓ Jehová á Moisés, después que murieron los dos hijos de Aarón, cuando se llegaron delante de Jehová, y murieron;
2Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Di á Aarón tu hermano, que no en todo tiempo entre en el santuario del velo adentro, delante de la cubierta que está sobre el arca, para que no muera: porque yo apareceré en la nube sobre la cubierta.
3Con esto entrará Aarón en el santuario: con un becerro por expiación, y un carnero en holocausto.
4La túnica santa de lino se vestirá, y sobre su carne tendrá pañetes de lino, y ceñiráse el cinto de lino; y con la mitra de lino se cubrirá: son las santas vestiduras: con ellas, después de lavar su carne con agua, se ha de vestir.
5Y de la congregación de los hijos de Israel tomará dos machos de cabrío para expiación, y un carnero para holocausto.
6Y hará allegar Aarón el becerro de la expiación, que es suyo, y hará la reconciliación por sí y por su casa.
7Después tomará los dos machos de cabrío, y los presentará delante de Jehová á la puerta del tabernáculo del testimonio.
8Y echará suertes Aarón sobre los dos machos de cabrío; la una suerte por Jehová, y la otra suerte por Azazel.
9Y hará allegar Aarón el macho cabrío sobre el cual cayere la suerte por Jehová, y ofrecerálo en expiación.
10Mas el macho cabrío, sobre el cual cayere la suerte por Azazel, lo presentará vivo delante de Jehová, para hacer la reconciliación sobre él, para enviarlo á Azazel al desierto.
11Y hará llegar Aarón el becerro que era suyo para expiación, y hará la reconciliación por sí y por su casa, y degollará en expiación el becerro que es suyo.
12Después tomará el incensario lleno de brasas de fuego, del altar de delante de Jehová, y sus puños llenos del perfume aromático molido, y meterálo del velo adentro:
13Y pondrá el perfume sobre el fuego delante de Jehová, y la nube del perfume cubrirá la cubierta que está sobre el testimonio, y no morirá.
14Tomará luego de la sangre del becerro, y rociará con su dedo hacia la cubierta al lado oriental: hacia la cubierta esparcirá siete veces de aquella sangre con su dedo.
15Después degollará en expiación el macho cabrío, que era del pueblo, y meterá la sangre de él del velo adentro; y hará de su sangre como hizo de la sangre del becerro, y esparcirá sobre la cubierta y delante de la cubierta:
16Y limpiará el santuario, de las inmundicias de los hijos de Israel, y de sus rebeliones, y de todos sus pecados: de la misma manera hará también al tabernáculo del testimonio, el cual reside entre ellos en medio de sus inmundicias.
17Y ningún hombre estará en el tabernáculo del testimonio cuando él entrare á hacer la reconciliación en el santuario, hasta que él salga, y haya hecho la reconciliación por sí, y por su casa, y por toda la congregación de Israel.
18Y saldrá al altar que está delante de Jehová, y lo expiará; y tomará de la sangre del becerro, y de la sangre del macho cabrío, y pondrá sobre los cuernos del altar alrededor.
19Y esparcirá sobre él de la sangre con su dedo siete veces, y lo limpiará, y lo santificará de las inmundicias de los hijos de Israel.
20Y cuando hubiere acabado de expiar el santuario, y el tabernáculo del testimonio, y el altar, hará llegar el macho cabrío vivo:
21Y pondrá Aarón ambas manos suyas sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío vivo, y confesará sobre él todas las iniquidades de los hijos de Israel, y todas sus rebeliones, y todos sus pecados, poniéndolos así sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío, y lo enviará al desierto por mano de un hombre destinado para esto.
22Y aquel macho cabrío llevará sobre sí todas las iniquidades de ellos á tierra inhabitada: y dejará ir el macho cabrío por el desierto.
23Después vendrá Aarón al tabernáculo del testimonio, y se desnudará las vestimentas de lino, que había vestido para entrar en el santuario, y pondrálas allí.
24Lavará luego su carne con agua en el lugar del santuario, y después de ponerse sus vestidos saldrá, y hará su holocausto, y el holocausto del pueblo, y hará la reconciliación por sí y por el pueblo.
25Y quemará el sebo de la expiación sobre el altar.
26Y el que hubiere llevado el macho cabrío á Azazel, lavará sus vestidos, lavará también con agua su carne, y después entrará en el real.
27Y sacará fuera del real el becerro del pecado, y el macho cabrío de la culpa, la sangre de los cuales fué metida para hacer la expiación en el santuario; y quemarán en el fuego sus pellejos, y sus carnes, y su estiércol.
28Y el que los quemare, lavará sus vestidos, lavará también su carne con agua, y después entrará en el real.
29Y esto tendréis por estatuto perpetuo: En el mes séptimo, á los diez del mes, afligiréis vuestras almas, y ninguna obra haréis, ni el natural ni el extranjero que peregrina entre vosotros:
30Porque en este día se os reconciliará para limpiaros; y seréis limpios de todos vuestros pecados delante de Jehová.
31Sábado de reposo es para vosotros, y afligiréis vuestras almas, por estatuto perpetuo.
32Y hará la reconciliación el sacerdote que fuere ungido, y cuya mano hubiere sido llena para ser sacerdote en lugar de su padre; y se vestirá las vestimentas de lino, las vestiduras sagradas:
33Y expiará el santuario santo, y el tabernáculo del testimonio; expiará también el altar, y á los sacerdotes, y á todo el pueblo de la congregación.
34Y esto tendréis por estatuto perpetuo, para expiar á los hijos de Israel de todos sus pecados una vez en el año. Y Moisés lo hizo como Jehová le mandó.

1And the LORD spake unto Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they offered before the LORD, and died;
2And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the vail before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat.
3Thus shall Aaron come into the holy place: with a young bullock for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering.
4He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired: these are holy garments; therefore shall he wash his flesh in water, and so put them on.
5And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.
6And Aaron shall offer his bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make an atonement for himself, and for his house.
7And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
8And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat.
9And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD’s lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering.
10But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.
11And Aaron shall bring the bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and shall make an atonement for himself, and for his house, and shall kill the bullock of the sin offering which is for himself:
12And he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the vail:
13And he shall put the incense upon the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is upon the testimony, that he die not:
14And he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it with his finger upon the mercy seat eastward; and before the mercy seat shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times.
15Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the vail, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat:
16And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness.
17And there shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goeth in to make an atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made an atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel.
18And he shall go out unto the altar that is before the LORD, and make an atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about.
19And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.
20And when he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat:
21And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:
22And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.
23And Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall put off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the holy place, and shall leave them there:
24And he shall wash his flesh with water in the holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth, and offer his burnt offering, and the burnt offering of the people, and make an atonement for himself, and for the people.
25And the fat of the sin offering shall he burn upon the altar.
26And he that let go the goat for the scapegoat shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward come into the camp.
27And the bullock for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall one carry forth without the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung.
28And he that burneth them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.
29And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you:
30For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD.
31It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.
32And the priest, whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate to minister in the priest’s office in his father’s stead, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen clothes, even the holy garments:
33And he shall make an atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make an atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation, and for the altar, and he shall make an atonement for the priests, and for all the people of the congregation.
34And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.

1The LORD spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they came near before the LORD, and died;
2and the LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron your brother not to come at just any time into the Most Holy Place within the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark; lest he die; for I will appear in the cloud on the mercy seat.
3“Aaron shall come into the sanctuary with a young bull for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering.
4He shall put on the holy linen tunic. He shall have the linen trousers on his body, and shall put on the linen sash, and he shall be clothed with the linen turban. They are the holy garments. He shall bathe his body in water, and put them on.
5He shall take from the congregation of the children of Israel two male goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.
6“Aaron shall offer the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house.
7He shall take the two goats, and set them before the LORD at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

16He shall make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, even all their sins; and so he shall do for the Tent of Meeting that dwells with them in the middle of their uncleanness.
17No one shall be in the Tent of Meeting when he enters to make atonement in the Holy Place, until he comes out, and has made atonement for himself and for his household, and for all the assembly of Israel.
18“He shall go out to the altar that is before the LORD and make atonement for it, and shall take some of the bull’s blood, and some of the goat’s blood, and put it around on the horns of the altar.
19He shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and make it holy from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.
20“When he has finished atoning for the Holy Place, the Tent of Meeting, and the altar, he shall present the live goat.
21Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, even all their sins; and he shall put them on the head of the goat, and shall send him away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who is ready.
22The goat shall carry all their iniquities on himself to a solitary land, and he shall release the goat in the wilderness.
23“Aaron shall come into the Tent of Meeting, and shall take off the linen garments which he put on when he went into the Holy Place, and shall leave them there.
24Then he shall bathe himself in water in a holy place, put on his garments, and come out and offer his burnt offering and the burnt offering of the people, and make atonement for himself and for the people.
25The fat of the sin offering he shall burn on the altar.
26“He who lets the goat go as the scapegoat shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.
27The bull for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the Holy Place, shall be carried outside the camp; and they shall burn their skins, their flesh, and their dung with fire.
28He who burns them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.
29“It shall be a statute to you forever: in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls, and shall do no kind of work, whether native-born or a stranger who lives as a foreigner among you;
30for on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you. You shall be clean from all your sins before the LORD.
31It is a Sabbath of solemn rest to you, and you shall afflict your souls. It is a statute forever.
32The priest, who is anointed and who is consecrated to be priest in his father’s place, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen garments, even the holy garments.
33Then he shall make atonement for the Holy Sanctuary; and he shall make atonement for the Tent of Meeting and for the altar; and he shall make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly.
34“This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel once in the year because of all their sins.” It was done as the LORD commanded Moses.
