Levítico 16

And Yahweh spake unto Moses, after the death of the two sons of Aaron,—when they had offered strange fire before Yahweh and died.

Y HABLÓ Jehová á Moisés, después que murieron los dos hijos de Aarón, cuando se llegaron delante de Jehová, y murieron;

And the LORD spake unto Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they offered before the LORD, and died;

The LORD spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they came near before the LORD, and died;

And Yahweh said unto Moses—Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he do not come at all times into the holy place, within the veil,—into the presence of the propitiatory, which is upon the ark, so shall he not die, for, in the cloud, will I appear upon the propitiatory.

Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Di á Aarón tu hermano, que no en todo tiempo entre en el santuario del velo adentro, delante de la cubierta que está sobre el arca, para que no muera: porque yo apareceré en la nube sobre la cubierta.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the vail before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat.

and the LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron your brother not to come at just any time into the Most Holy Place within the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark; lest he die; for I will appear in the cloud on the mercy seat.

Herewith, shall Aaron come into the holy place,—With a bullock the choice of the herd as a sin-bearer, and a ram as an ascending-sacrifice.

Con esto entrará Aarón en el santuario: con un becerro por expiación, y un carnero en holocausto.

Thus shall Aaron come into the holy place: with a young bullock for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering.

“Aaron shall come into the sanctuary with a young bull for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering.

A holy tunic of linen, shall he put on and drawers of linen, shall be upon his flesh, and with a band of linen, shall he gird himself, and with a turban of linen, shall his head be wrapped about,—holy garments, they are, therefore shall he bathe in water his flesh, and so put them on.

La túnica santa de lino se vestirá, y sobre su carne tendrá pañetes de lino, y ceñiráse el cinto de lino; y con la mitra de lino se cubrirá: son las santas vestiduras: con ellas, después de lavar su carne con agua, se ha de vestir.

He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired: these are holy garments; therefore shall he wash his flesh in water, and so put them on.

He shall put on the holy linen tunic. He shall have the linen trousers on his body, and shall put on the linen sash, and he shall be clothed with the linen turban. They are the holy garments. He shall bathe his body in water, and put them on.

And, from the assembly of the sons of Israel, shall he receive two he-goats, for bearing sin,—and one ram, as an ascending-sacrifice.

Y de la congregación de los hijos de Israel tomará dos machos de cabrío para expiación, y un carnero para holocausto.

And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.

He shall take from the congregation of the children of Israel two male goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.

Then shall Aaron bring near the sin-bearing bullock which is for himself,—and put a propitiatory-covering about himself, and about his household.

Y hará allegar Aarón el becerro de la expiación, que es suyo, y hará la reconciliación por sí y por su casa.

And Aaron shall offer his bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make an atonement for himself, and for his house.

“Aaron shall offer the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house.

Then shall he take the two goats,—and cause them to stand before Yahweh, at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

Después tomará los dos machos de cabrío, y los presentará delante de Jehová á la puerta del tabernáculo del testimonio.

And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

He shall take the two goats, and set them before the LORD at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

And Aaron shall cast lots over the two goats,—one lot for Yahweh, and one lot for Azazel.

Y echará suertes Aarón sobre los dos machos de cabrío; la una suerte por Jehová, y la otra suerte por Azazel.

And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat.

Then shall Aaron bring near the goat over which came up the lot for Yahweh,—and shall make of him a sin-bearer;

Y hará allegar Aarón el macho cabrío sobre el cual cayere la suerte por Jehová, y ofrecerálo en expiación.

And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD’s lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering.

Aaron shall present the goat on which the lot fell for the LORD, and offer him for a sin offering.

but, the goat over which came up the lot for Azazel, shall he cause to stand alive—before Yahweh to put a propitiatory-covering over him,—to send him away unto Azazel, towards the desert.

Mas el macho cabrío, sobre el cual cayere la suerte por Azazel, lo presentará vivo delante de Jehová, para hacer la reconciliación sobre él, para enviarlo á Azazel al desierto.

But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.

But the goat on which the lot fell for the scapegoat shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make atonement for him, to send him away as the scapegoat into the wilderness.

So Aaron shall bring near the sin-bearing bullock which is for himself, and shall put a propitiatory-covering about himself, and about his household,—and shall slay the sin-bearing bullock which is for himself;

Y hará llegar Aarón el becerro que era suyo para expiación, y hará la reconciliación por sí y por su casa, y degollará en expiación el becerro que es suyo.

And Aaron shall bring the bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and shall make an atonement for himself, and for his house, and shall kill the bullock of the sin offering which is for himself:

“Aaron shall present the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and shall make atonement for himself and for his house, and shall kill the bull of the sin offering which is for himself.

and shall take the censer-full of burning coals of fire from off the altar from before Yahweh, and his hands full of fragrant incense, beaten small,—and bring within the veil;

Después tomará el incensario lleno de brasas de fuego, del altar de delante de Jehová, y sus puños llenos del perfume aromático molido, y meterálo del velo adentro:

And he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the vail:

He shall take a censer full of coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD, and two handfuls of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the veil.

and shall put the incense upon the fire before Yahweh,—and the cloud of incense shall cover the propitiatory which is over the testimony, and he shall not die.

Y pondrá el perfume sobre el fuego delante de Jehová, y la nube del perfume cubrirá la cubierta que está sobre el testimonio, y no morirá.

And he shall put the incense upon the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is upon the testimony, that he die not:

He shall put the incense on the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the covenant, so that he will not die.

Then shall he take of the blood of the bullock, and shall sprinkle with his finger upon the face of the propitiatory, eastwards,—and before the propitiatory, shall he sprinkle seven times, of the blood, with his finger.

Tomará luego de la sangre del becerro, y rociará con su dedo hacia la cubierta al lado oriental: hacia la cubierta esparcirá siete veces de aquella sangre con su dedo.

And he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it with his finger upon the mercy seat eastward; and before the mercy seat shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times.

He shall take some of the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy seat on the east; and before the mercy seat he shall sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times.

Then shall he slay the sin-bearing goat which is for the people, and bring in its blood, within the veil,—and do with its blood, as he did to the blood of the bullock, and shall sprinkle it, upon the propitiatory and before the propitiatory:

Después degollará en expiación el macho cabrío, que era del pueblo, y meterá la sangre de él del velo adentro; y hará de su sangre como hizo de la sangre del becerro, y esparcirá sobre la cubierta y delante de la cubierta:

Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the vail, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat:

“Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering that is for the people, and bring his blood within the veil, and do with his blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy seat and before the mercy seat.

so shall he put a propitiatory-covering, over the holy place because of the uncleanness of the sons of Israel, and because of their transgressions to the extent of all their sins,—and, so, shall he do for the tent of meeting which abideth with them, in the midst of their uncleanness.

Y limpiará el santuario, de las inmundicias de los hijos de Israel, y de sus rebeliones, y de todos sus pecados: de la misma manera hará también al tabernáculo del testimonio, el cual reside entre ellos en medio de sus inmundicias.

And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness.

He shall make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, even all their sins; and so he shall do for the Tent of Meeting that dwells with them in the middle of their uncleanness.

And no human being, shall be in the tent of meeting, when he cometh in to make a covering by propitiation in the holy place, until he goeth out,—so shall he put a propitiatory-covering about himself and about his household and about all the convocation of Israel.

Y ningún hombre estará en el tabernáculo del testimonio cuando él entrare á hacer la reconciliación en el santuario, hasta que él salga, y haya hecho la reconciliación por sí, y por su casa, y por toda la congregación de Israel.

And there shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goeth in to make an atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made an atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel.

No one shall be in the Tent of Meeting when he enters to make atonement in the Holy Place, until he comes out, and has made atonement for himself and for his household, and for all the assembly of Israel.

Then shall he go out unto the altar which is before Yahweh and shall put a propitiatory-covering thereupon,—and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put upon the horns of the altar, round about;

Y saldrá al altar que está delante de Jehová, y lo expiará; y tomará de la sangre del becerro, y de la sangre del macho cabrío, y pondrá sobre los cuernos del altar alrededor.

And he shall go out unto the altar that is before the LORD, and make an atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about.

“He shall go out to the altar that is before the LORD and make atonement for it, and shall take some of the bull’s blood, and some of the goat’s blood, and put it around on the horns of the altar.

and shall sprinkle upon it, of the blood with his finger seven times,—and shall cleanse it and hallow it, from the uncleannesses of the sons of Israel.

Y esparcirá sobre él de la sangre con su dedo siete veces, y lo limpiará, y lo santificará de las inmundicias de los hijos de Israel.

And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.

He shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and make it holy from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.

And, when he hath made an end of covering by propitiation the holy place, and the tent of meeting, and the altar, then shall he bring near the living goat.

Y cuando hubiere acabado de expiar el santuario, y el tabernáculo del testimonio, y el altar, hará llegar el macho cabrío vivo:

And when he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat:

“When he has finished atoning for the Holy Place, the Tent of Meeting, and the altar, he shall present the live goat.

And Aaron shall lean his two hands upon the head of the living goat, and confess over him, all the iniquities of the sons of Israel, and all their transgressions, to the extent of all their sins,—and shall put them upon the head of the goat, and then send him away, by the hand of a man appointed towards the desert:

Y pondrá Aarón ambas manos suyas sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío vivo, y confesará sobre él todas las iniquidades de los hijos de Israel, y todas sus rebeliones, y todos sus pecados, poniéndolos así sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío, y lo enviará al desierto por mano de un hombre destinado para esto.

And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:

Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, even all their sins; and he shall put them on the head of the goat, and shall send him away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who is ready.

so shall the goat bear upon him all their iniquities into a lone land,—and he shall set the goat free, in the desert.

Y aquel macho cabrío llevará sobre sí todas las iniquidades de ellos á tierra inhabitada: y dejará ir el macho cabrío por el desierto.

And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.

The goat shall carry all their iniquities on himself to a solitary land, and he shall release the goat in the wilderness.

Then shall Aaron come into the tent of meeting, and put off the linen garments which he put on when he came into the holy place,—and shall leave them there;

Después vendrá Aarón al tabernáculo del testimonio, y se desnudará las vestimentas de lino, que había vestido para entrar en el santuario, y pondrálas allí.

And Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall put off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the holy place, and shall leave them there:

“Aaron shall come into the Tent of Meeting, and shall take off the linen garments which he put on when he went into the Holy Place, and shall leave them there.

and shall bathe his flesh in water in a holy place, and put on his †other garments,—and go forth, and offer his own ascending-sacrifice, and the ascending-sacrifice of the people, so shall he put a propitiatory-covering about himself, and about the people;

Lavará luego su carne con agua en el lugar del santuario, y después de ponerse sus vestidos saldrá, y hará su holocausto, y el holocausto del pueblo, y hará la reconciliación por sí y por el pueblo.

And he shall wash his flesh with water in the holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth, and offer his burnt offering, and the burnt offering of the people, and make an atonement for himself, and for the people.

Then he shall bathe himself in water in a holy place, put on his garments, and come out and offer his burnt offering and the burnt offering of the people, and make atonement for himself and for the people.

and, with the fat of the sin-bearer, shall he make a perfume at the altar.

Y quemará el sebo de la expiación sobre el altar.

And the fat of the sin offering shall he burn upon the altar.

The fat of the sin offering he shall burn on the altar.

And he that sent away the goat unto Azazel, shall wash—his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water,—and, after that, shall he come into the camp.

Y el que hubiere llevado el macho cabrío á Azazel, lavará sus vestidos, lavará también con agua su carne, y después entrará en el real.

And he that let go the goat for the scapegoat shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward come into the camp.

“He who lets the goat go as the scapegoat shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.

And the, sin-bearing bullock, and the sin-bearing goat whose blood was brought in to make a propitiatory-covering in the holy place, shall be carried forth outside the camp,—and they shall burn up, in fire, their skins and their flesh, and their dung;

Y sacará fuera del real el becerro del pecado, y el macho cabrío de la culpa, la sangre de los cuales fué metida para hacer la expiación en el santuario; y quemarán en el fuego sus pellejos, y sus carnes, y su estiércol.

And the bullock for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall one carry forth without the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung.

The bull for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the Holy Place, shall be carried outside the camp; and they shall burn their skins, their flesh, and their dung with fire.

and he that hath burned them, shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water,—and, after that, shall he come into the camp.

Y el que los quemare, lavará sus vestidos, lavará también su carne con agua, y después entrará en el real.

And he that burneth them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.

He who burns them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.

And it shall become unto you, a statute age-abiding,—In the seventh month on the tenth of the month, Shall ye humble you souls And, no work, shall ye do, The home-born, Or the sojourner that sojourneth in your midst;

Y esto tendréis por estatuto perpetuo: En el mes séptimo, á los diez del mes, afligiréis vuestras almas, y ninguna obra haréis, ni el natural ni el extranjero que peregrina entre vosotros:

And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you:

“It shall be a statute to you forever: in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls, and shall do no kind of work, whether native-born or a stranger who lives as a foreigner among you;

For on this day, shall a propitiatory-covering, be put over you, to cleanse you,—From all your sins before Yahweh, shall ye be clean.

Porque en este día se os reconciliará para limpiaros; y seréis limpios de todos vuestros pecados delante de Jehová.

For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD.

for on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you. You shall be clean from all your sins before the LORD.

A sabbath of sacred rest, it is unto you, Therefore shall ye humble your souls, A statute age-abiding.

Sábado de reposo es para vosotros, y afligiréis vuestras almas, por estatuto perpetuo.

It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.

It is a Sabbath of solemn rest to you, and you shall afflict your souls. It is a statute forever.

Therefore shall the priest who shall be anointed, and installed, to minister as priest in the stead of his father make propitiation,—So then he shall put on the linen garments the holy garments;

Y hará la reconciliación el sacerdote que fuere ungido, y cuya mano hubiere sido llena para ser sacerdote en lugar de su padre; y se vestirá las vestimentas de lino, las vestiduras sagradas:

And the priest, whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate to minister in the priest’s office in his father’s stead, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen clothes, even the holy garments:

The priest, who is anointed and who is consecrated to be priest in his father’s place, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen garments, even the holy garments.

And make propitiation for the holy sanctuary, And for the tent of meeting, and for the altar, shall he make propitiation,—Over the priests also and over all the people of the convocation, shall he put a covering by propitiation.

Y expiará el santuario santo, y el tabernáculo del testimonio; expiará también el altar, y á los sacerdotes, y á todo el pueblo de la congregación.

And he shall make an atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make an atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation, and for the altar, and he shall make an atonement for the priests, and for all the people of the congregation.

Then he shall make atonement for the Holy Sanctuary; and he shall make atonement for the Tent of Meeting and for the altar; and he shall make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly.

So shall this become unto you an age-abiding statute,—to put a propitiatory-covering over the sons of Israel because of all their sins, Once in the year. And he did, As Yahweh commanded Moses.

Y esto tendréis por estatuto perpetuo, para expiar á los hijos de Israel de todos sus pecados una vez en el año. Y Moisés lo hizo como Jehová le mandó.

And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.

“This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel once in the year because of all their sins.” It was done as the LORD commanded Moses.
