1Nadab aber und Abihu, die Söhne Aarons, nahmen ihre Kohlenpfannen, thaten Feuer hinein und legten Räucherwerk darauf und brachten so ein ungehöriges Feueropfer, das er ihnen nicht geboten hatte, vor Jahwe.
2Da ging Feuer aus von Jahwe und verzehrte sie, so daß sie dort vor Jahwe starben.
3Da sprach Mose zu Aaron: Hier erfüllt sich, was Jahwe angekündigt hat, indem er sprach: An denen, die mir nahe stehen, will ich meine Heiligkeit erweisen. Und vor allem Volke will ich mich verherrlichen. Aaron aber verhielt sich schweigend.
4Da rief Mose Misael und Elzaphan, sie Söhne Usiels, des Oheims Aarons, herbei und gebot ihnen: Tretet herzu und tragt eure Verwandten von dem Platze vor dem Heiligtum hinweg hinaus vor das Lager!
5Da traten sie herzu und trugen sie in ihren Leibröcken hinaus vor das Lager, wie Mose geboten hatte.
6Aaron aber und seinen Söhnen Eleasar und Ithamar gebot Mose: Ihr dürft eure Häupter nicht entblößen und eure Kleider nicht zerreißen; sonst müßtet ihr sterben, und er würde heftig auf die ganze Gemeinde zürnen! Eure Brüder aber, das ganze Haus Israel, mögen den Brand beweinen, den Jahwe angerichtet hat.
7Auch dürft ihr nicht zur Thüre des Offenbarungszeltes hinausgehen, damit ihr nicht sterbt; denn das Salböl Jahwes ist auf euch! Sie aber thaten nach Moses Geheiß.
8Und Jahwe redete mit Aaron also:
9Wein und berauschendes Getränk dürft ihr - du und deine Söhne - nicht trinken, wenn ihr ins Offenbarungszelt hineingeht, sonst müßt ihr sterben. Das ist eine für alle Zeiten geltende Satzung, die ihr beobachten sollt von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht.
10Und ihr sollt unterscheiden zwischen dem, was heilig, und dem, was nicht heilig ist, zwischen dem, was unrein, und dem, was rein ist,
11und sollt die Israeliten alle die Satzungen lehren, die ihnen Jahwe durch Mose verkündigt hat.
12Und Mose gebot Aaron, sowie Eleasar und Ithamar, die ihm von seinen Söhnen noch geblieben waren: Nehmt das Speisopfer, das von den Jahwe dargebrachten Feueropfern noch übrig ist, und eßt es ungesäuert neben dem Altar, denn es ist hochheilig.
13Darum sollt ihr es an heiliger Stätte essen, denn es ist die Gebühr, die dir und deinen Söhnen von den Feueropfern zufällt - so ist mir's geboten!
14Die Webebrust aber und die Hebekeule sollst du neben deinen Söhnen und Töchtern an reiner Stätte essen, denn sie sind verliehen als die Gebühr, die dir und deinen Kindern von den Heilsopfern der Israeliten zufällt.
15Die Hebekeule und die Webebrust soll man neben den zu Feueropfern bestimmten Fettstücken bringen, damit sie als Webe vor Jahwe gewebt werden; dann sollen sie dir und deinen Kindern als eine für alle Zeiten feststehende Gebühr zufallen, wie Jahwe befohlen hat.
16Als sich nun Mose angelegentlich nach dem Sündopfer-Bock erkundigte, befand sich, daß er verbrannt war. Da zürnte er heftig auf Eleasar und Ithamar, die Söhne Aarons, die diesem noch geblieben waren, und fragte:
17Warum habt ihr denn das Sündopfer nicht gegessen an heiliger Stätte? Denn es ist hochheilig, und er hat es euch verliehen, um die Verschuldung der Gemeinde hinwegzuschaffen und ihnen Sühne vor Jahwe zu erwirken.
18Ist ja doch sein Blut nicht ins Innere des Heiligtums gebracht worden; somit mußtet ihr es essen im heiligen Bezirke, wie ich befohlen hatte.
19Da antwortete Aaron Mose: Bedenke, sie haben heute ihr Sündopfer und ihr Brandopfer vor Jahwe dargebracht, und mich betraf dennoch solches; wenn ich nun heute Sündopferfleisch genießen wollte, würde das wohl Jahwe gefallen?
20Als Mose das hörte, ließ er sich's gefallen.

1Y LOS hijos de Aarón, Nadab y Abiú, tomaron cada uno su incensario, y pusieron fuego en ellos, sobre el cual pusieron perfume, y ofrecieron delante de Jehová fuego extraño, que él nunca les mandó.
2Y salió fuego de delante de Jehová que los quemó, y murieron delante de Jehová.
3Entonces dijo Moisés á Aarón: Esto es lo que habló Jehová, diciendo: En mis allegados me santificaré, y en presencia de todo el pueblo seré glorificado. Y Aarón calló.
4Y llamó Moisés á Misael, y á Elzaphán, hijos de Uzziel, tío de Aarón, y díjoles: Llegaos y sacad á vuestros hermanos de delante del santuario fuera del campo.
5Y ellos llegaron, y sacáronlos con sus túnicas fuera del campo, como dijo Moisés.
6Entonces Moisés dijo á Aarón, y á Eleazar y á Ithamar, sus hijos: No descubráis vuestras cabezas, ni rasguéis vuestros vestidos, porque no muráis, ni se levante la ira sobre toda la congregación: empero vuestros hermanos, toda la casa de Israel, lamentarán el incendio que Jehová ha hecho.
7Ni saldréis de la puerta del tabernáculo del testimonio, porque moriréis; por cuanto el aceite de la unción de Jehová está sobre vosotros. Y ellos hicieron conforme al dicho de Moisés.
8Y Jehová habló á Aarón, diciendo:
9Tú, y tus hijos contigo, no beberéis vino ni sidra, cuando hubiereis de entrar en el tabernáculo del testimonio, porque no muráis: estatuto perpetuo por vuestras generaciones;
10Y para poder discernir entre lo santo y lo profano, y entre lo inmundo y lo limpio;
11Y para enseñar á los hijos de Israel todos los estatutos que Jehová les ha dicho por medio de Moisés.
12Y Moisés dijo á Aarón, y á Eleazar y á Ithamar, sus hijos que habían quedado: Tomad el presente que queda de las ofrendas encendidas á Jehová, y comedlo sin levadura junto al altar, porque es cosa muy santa.
13Habéis, pues, de comerlo en el lugar santo: porque esto es fuero para ti, y fuero para tus hijos, de las ofrendas encendidas á Jehová, pues que así me ha sido mandado.
14Comeréis asimismo en lugar limpio, tú y tus hijos y tus hijas contigo, el pecho de la mecida, y la espaldilla elevada, porque por fuero para ti, y fuero para tus hijos, son dados de los sacrificios de las paces de los hijos de Israel.
15Con las ofrendas de los sebos que se han de encender, traerán la espaldilla que se ha de elevar, y el pecho que será mecido, para que lo mezas por ofrenda agitada delante de Jehová: y será por fuero perpetuo tuyo, y de tus hijos contigo, como Jehová lo ha mandado.
16Y Moisés demandó el macho cabrío de la expiación, y hallóse que era quemado: y enojóse contra Eleazar é Ithamar, los hijos de Aarón que habían quedado, diciendo:
17¿Por qué no comisteis la expiación en el lugar santo? porque es muy santa, y dióla él á vosotros para llevar la iniquidad de la congregación, para que sean reconciliados delante de Jehová.
18Veis que su sangre no fué metida dentro del santuario: habíais de comerla en el lugar santo, como yo mandé.
19Y respondió Aarón á Moisés: He aquí hoy han ofrecido su expiación y su holocausto delante de Jehová: pero me han acontecido estas cosas: pues si comiera yo hoy de la expiación, ¿hubiera sido acepto á Jehová?
20Y cuando Moisés oyó esto, dióse por satisfecho.

1And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.
2And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.
3Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.
4And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.
5So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said.
6And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled.
7And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: for the anointing oil of the LORD is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.
8And the LORD spake unto Aaron, saying,
9Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:
10And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;
11And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.
12And Moses spake unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the meat offering that remaineth of the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar: for it is most holy:
13And ye shall eat it in the holy place, because it is thy due, and thy sons’ due, of the sacrifices of the LORD made by fire: for so I am commanded.
14And the wave breast and heave shoulder shall ye eat in a clean place; thou, and thy sons, and thy daughters with thee: for they be thy due, and thy sons’ due, which are given out of the sacrifices of peace offerings of the children of Israel.
15The heave shoulder and the wave breast shall they bring with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave offering before the LORD; and it shall be thine, and thy sons’ with thee, by a statute for ever; as the LORD hath commanded.
16And Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was burnt: and he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron which were left alive, saying,
17Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, seeing it is most holy, and God hath given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the LORD?
18Behold, the blood of it was not brought in within the holy place: ye should indeed have eaten it in the holy place, as I commanded.
19And Aaron said unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the LORD; and such things have befallen me: and if I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been accepted in the sight of the LORD?
20And when Moses heard that, he was content.

1Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer, and put fire in it, and laid incense on it, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he had not commanded them.
2Fire came out from before the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.
3Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the LORD spoke of, saying, ‘I will show myself holy to those who come near me, and before all the people I will be glorified.’” Aaron held his peace.
4Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said to them, “Draw near, carry your brothers from before the sanctuary out of the camp.”
5So they came near, and carried them in their tunics out of the camp, as Moses had said.
6Moses said to Aaron, and to Eleazar and to Ithamar, his sons, “Don’t let the hair of your heads go loose, and don’t tear your clothes, so that you don’t die, and so that he will not be angry with all the congregation; but let your brothers, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD has kindled.
7You shall not go out from the door of the Tent of Meeting, lest you die; for the anointing oil of the LORD is on you.” They did according to the word of Moses.
8Then the LORD said to Aaron,
9“You and your sons are not to drink wine or strong drink whenever you go into the Tent of Meeting, or you will die. This shall be a statute forever throughout your generations.
10You are to make a distinction between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean.
11You are to teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD has spoken to them by Moses.”
12Moses spoke to Aaron, and to Eleazar and to Ithamar, his sons who were left, “Take the meal offering that remains of the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and eat it without yeast beside the altar; for it is most holy;
13and you shall eat it in a holy place, because it is your portion, and your sons’ portion, of the offerings of the LORD made by fire; for so I am commanded.
14The waved breast and the heaved thigh you shall eat in a clean place, you, and your sons, and your daughters with you: for they are given as your portion, and your sons’ portion, out of the sacrifices of the peace offerings of the children of Israel.
15They shall bring the heaved thigh and the waved breast with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave offering before the LORD. It shall be yours, and your sons’ with you, as a portion forever, as the LORD has commanded.”
16Moses diligently inquired about the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was burned. He was angry with Eleazar and with Ithamar, the sons of Aaron who were left, saying,
17“Why haven’t you eaten the sin offering in the place of the sanctuary, since it is most holy, and he has given it to you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the LORD?
18Behold, its blood was not brought into the inner part of the sanctuary. You certainly should have eaten it in the sanctuary, as I commanded.”
19Aaron spoke to Moses, “Behold, today they have offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the LORD; and such things as these have happened to me. If I had eaten the sin offering today, would it have been pleasing in the LORD’s sight?”
20When Moses heard that, it was pleasing in his sight.
