Josué 9

Udite tali cose, tutti i re di là dal Giordano, che dimoravano sulle montagne, e nei piani, e ne' luoghi marittimi, e lungo il lido del mare grande: e quegli ancora, che abitavano vicino al Libano, gli Hethei, e gli Amorrhei, i Chananei, i Ferezei, gli Hevei, e i Jebusei

Y ACONTECIÓ que como oyeron estas cosas todos los reyes que estaban de esta parte del Jordán, así en las montañas como en los llanos, y en toda la costa de la gran mar delante del Líbano, los Hetheos, Amorrheos, Cananeos, Pherezeos, Heveos, y Jebuseos;

And it came to pass, when all the kings which were on this side Jordan, in the hills, and in the valleys, and in all the coasts of the great sea over against Lebanon, the Hittite, and the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard thereof;

When all the kings who were beyond the Jordan, in the hill country, and in the lowland, and on all the shore of the great sea in front of Lebanon, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard of it

Si adunarono tutti insieme d'uno stesso animo, e d'uno stesso consiglio per combattere contro Giosuè, e contro Israele.

Juntáronse á una, de un acuerdo, para pelear contra Josué é Israel.

That they gathered themselves together, to fight with Joshua and with Israel, with one accord.

Ma gli abitanti di Gabaon avendo udito tutto quel che Giosuè avea fatto a Gerico, e ad Hai,

Mas los moradores de Gabaón, como oyeron lo que Josué había hecho á Jericó y á Hai,

And when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done unto Jericho and to Ai,

Usando l'astuzia preser seco de' commestibili, e caricarono sui loro asini de' sacchi vecchi, e degli otri da vino rotti, e ricuciti,

Ellos usaron también de astucia; pues fueron y fingiéronse embajadores, y tomaron sacos viejos sobre sus asnos, y cueros viejos de vino, rotos y remendados,

They did work wilily, and went and made as if they had been ambassadors, and took old sacks upon their asses, and wine bottles, old, and rent, and bound up;

they also resorted to a ruse, and went and made as if they had been ambassadors, and took old sacks on their donkeys, and old, torn-up and bound up wineskins,

E de' calzari molto vecchi, e rappezzati in segno di vecchiezza, e si vestiron d'abiti molto usati: i pani eziandio, che portavano pel viatico, eran duri, e sbriciolati:

Y zapatos viejos y recosidos en sus pies, con vestidos viejos sobre sí; y todo el pan que traían para el camino, seco y mohoso.

And old shoes and clouted upon their feet, and old garments upon them; and all the bread of their provision was dry and mouldy.

and old and patched sandals on their feet, and wore old garments. All the bread of their food supply was dry and moldy.

E vennero a trovar Giosuè, il quale era allora negli alloggiamenti di Galgala, e dissero a lui, e insieme a tutto Israele: Noi venghiamo di lontan paese bramosi di far pace con voi. E gli uomini d'Israele risposer loro, e dissero:

Así vinieron á Josué al campo en Gilgal, y dijéronle á él y á los de Israel: Nosotros venimos de tierra muy lejana: haced pues ahora con nosotros alianza.

And they went to Joshua unto the camp at Gilgal, and said unto him, and to the men of Israel, We be come from a far country: now therefore make ye a league with us.

They went to Joshua at the camp at Gilgal, and said to him and to the men of Israel, “We have come from a far country. Now therefore make a covenant with us.”

Purché voi non abitiate in quella terra ch'è dovuta a noi come nostra eredità, e non sia a noi proibito di fare confederazione con voi.

Y los de Israel respondieron á los Heveos: Quizás vosotros habitáis en medio de nosotros: ¿cómo pues podremos nosotros hacer alianza con vosotros?

And the men of Israel said unto the Hivites, Peradventure ye dwell among us; and how shall we make a league with you?

The men of Israel said to the Hivites, “What if you live among us? How could we make a covenant with you?”

Ma quelli dissero a Giosuè: Siamo tuoi servi. Ed egli a loro: Chi siete voi? E donde siete venuti?

Y ellos respondieron á Josué: Nosotros somos tus siervos. Y Josué les dijo: ¿Quién sois vosotros y de dónde venís?

And they said unto Joshua, We are thy servants. And Joshua said unto them, Who are ye? and from whence come ye?

They said to Joshua, “We are your servants.” Joshua said to them, “Who are you? Where do you come from?”

Risposero: Da paese rimoto assai son venuti i tuoi servi nel nome del Signore Dio tuo: perocché abbiamo udita la fama di sua possanza, e tutto quel che ei fece in Egitto,

Y ellos respondieron: Tus siervos han venido de muy lejanas tierras, por la fama de Jehová tu Dios; porque hemos oído su fama, y todas las cosas que hizo en Egipto,

And they said unto him, From a very far country thy servants are come because of the name of the LORD thy God: for we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt,

They said to him, “Your servants have come from a very far country because of the name of the LORD your God; for we have heard of his fame, all that he did in Egypt,

E a' due re degli Amorrhei, che erano di là dal Giordano, Sehon re di Hesebon, e Og re di Basan, che stava in Astaroth:

Y todo lo que hizo á los dos reyes de los Amorrheos que estaban de la otra parte del Jordán; á Sehón rey de Hesbón, y á Og rey de Basán, que estaba en Astaroth.

And all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites, that were beyond Jordan, to Sihon king of Heshbon, and to Og king of Bashan, which was at Ashtaroth.

and all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon king of Heshbon and to Og king of Bashan, who was at Ashtaroth.

E i nostri seniori, e tutti gli abitatori del nostro paese ci hanno detto: Prendete con voi da mangiare per un viaggio lunghissimo, e andate loro incontro, e dite: Noi siam vostri servi, fate confederazione con noi.

Por lo cual nuestros ancianos y todos los moradores de nuestra tierra nos dijeron: Tomad en vuestras manos provisión para el camino, é id al encuentro de ellos, y decidles: Nosotros somos vuestros siervos, y haced ahora con nosotros alianza.

Wherefore our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spake to us, saying, Take victuals with you for the journey, and go to meet them, and say unto them, We are your servants: therefore now make ye a league with us.

Our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spoke to us, saying, ‘Take supplies in your hand for the journey, and go to meet them. Tell them, “We are your servants. Now make a covenant with us.”’

Ecco, i pani che noi prendemmo in partendo dalle nostre case per venire a voi, erano caldi: ora sono duri, e per esser troppo vecchi si sbriciolano:

Este nuestro pan tomamos caliente de nuestras casas para el camino el día que salimos para venir á vosotros; y helo aquí ahora que está seco y mohoso:

This our bread we took hot for our provision out of our houses on the day we came forth to go unto you; but now, behold, it is dry, and it is mouldy:

This our bread we took hot for our supplies out of our houses on the day we went out to go to you; but now, behold, it is dry, and has become moldy.

Noi empiemmo di vino otri nuovi, ora sono rotti, e logori: le vesti che abbiamo addosso, e i calzari de' piedi per la lunghezza di un viaggio di tanto tempo sono usati, e rifiniti.

Estos cueros de vino también los henchimos nuevos; helos aquí ya rotos: también estos nuestros vestidos y nuestros zapatos están ya viejos á causa de lo muy largo del camino.

And these bottles of wine, which we filled, were new; and, behold, they be rent: and these our garments and our shoes are become old by reason of the very long journey.

These wineskins, which we filled, were new; and behold, they are torn. These our garments and our sandals have become old because of the very long journey.”

Allora quelli preser dei loro commestibili, e non consultarono l'oracolo del Signore.

Y los hombres de Israel tomaron de su provisión del camino, y no preguntaron á la boca de Jehová.

And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the LORD.

The men sampled their provisions, and didn’t ask counsel from the LORD’s mouth.

E Giosuè li trattò come amici, e fece con essi alleanza con promessa di salvar loro la vita: e i principi del popolo giurarono ad essi la stessa cosa.

Y Josué hizo paz con ellos, y concertó con ellos que les dejaría la vida: también los príncipes de la congregación les juraron.

And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them.

Joshua made peace with them, and made a covenant with them, to let them live. The princes of the congregation swore to them.

Ma tre dì dopo che era stata fatta l'alleanza, riseppero, come quegli abitavano nelle vicinanze, e che sarebbono vissuti tra loro:

Pasados tres días después que hicieron con ellos el concierto, oyeron como eran sus vecinos, y que habitaban en medio de ellos.

And it came to pass at the end of three days after they had made a league with them, that they heard that they were their neighbours, and that they dwelt among them.

At the end of three days after they had made a covenant with them, they heard that they were their neighbors, and that they lived among them.

E i figliuoli d'Israele mossero il campo, e andarono tre giorni appresso alle loro città delle quali i nomi son questi: Gabaon, e Caphira, e Beroth, e Cariathiarim.

Y partiéronse los hijos de Israel, y al tercer día llegaron á sus ciudades: y sus ciudades eran Gabaón, Caphira, Beeroth, y Chiriath-jearim.

And the children of Israel journeyed, and came unto their cities on the third day. Now their cities were Gibeon, and Chephirah, and Beeroth, and Kirjath-jearim.

E non fecer loro alcun male, perchè i principi del popolo avean così giurato con essi nel nome del Signore Dio d'Israele. Per la qual cosa mormorò tutta la plebe contro i principi.

Y no los hirieron los hijos de Israel, por cuanto los príncipes de la congregación les habían jurado por Jehová el Dios de Israel. Y toda la congregación murmuraba contra los príncipes.

And the children of Israel smote them not, because the princes of the congregation had sworn unto them by the LORD God of Israel. And all the congregation murmured against the princes.

The children of Israel didn’t strike them, because the princes of the congregation had sworn to them by the LORD, the God of Israel. All the congregation murmured against the princes.

Ma questi le risposero: Noi abbiamo prestato ad essi giuramento nel nome del Signore Dio d'Israele: e perciò non possiam toccarli.

Mas todos los príncipes respondieron á toda la congregación: Nosotros les hemos jurado por Jehová Dios de Israel; por tanto, ahora no les podemos tocar.

But all the princes said unto all the congregation, We have sworn unto them by the LORD God of Israel: now therefore we may not touch them.

But all the princes said to all the congregation, “We have sworn to them by the LORD, the God of Israel. Now therefore we may not touch them.

Ma farem loro così: Abbiano salva la vita, affinchè non ci tiriamo addosso l'ira del Signore collo spergiuro:

Esto haremos con ellos: les dejaremos vivir, porque no venga ira sobre nosotros á causa del juramento que les hemos hecho.

This we will do to them; we will even let them live, lest wrath be upon us, because of the oath which we sware unto them.

We will do this to them, and let them live; lest wrath be on us, because of the oath which we swore to them.”

Ma abbian la vita con questa condizione che taglino le legna pel servizio di tutto il popolo, e portino l'acqua. E mentre quelli parlavano così,

Y los príncipes les dijeron: Vivan; mas sean leñadores y aguadores para toda la congregación, como los príncipes les han dicho.

And the princes said unto them, Let them live; but let them be hewers of wood and drawers of water unto all the congregation; as the princes had promised them.

The princes said to them, “Let them live.” So they became wood cutters and drawers of water for all the congregation, as the princes had spoken to them.

Giosuè chiamò a sé i Gabaoniti, e disse loro: Perchè avete voi voluto ingannarci con fraude, dicendo: Noi abitiamo molto lungi da voi, mentre siete in mezzo a noi?

Y llamándolos Josué, les habló diciendo: ¿Por qué nos habéis engañado, diciendo, Habitamos muy lejos de vosotros; una vez que moráis en medio de nosotros?

And Joshua called for them, and he spake unto them, saying, Wherefore have ye beguiled us, saying, We are very far from you; when ye dwell among us?

Joshua called for them, and he spoke to them, saying, “Why have you deceived us, saying, ‘We are very far from you,’ when you live among us?

Per questo voi sarete sottoposti alla maledizione, nè mai mancherà della vostra stirpe chi tagli le legna, e porti acqua nella casa del mio Dio.

Vosotros pues ahora sois malditos, y no faltará de vosotros siervo, y quien corte la leña y saque el agua para la casa de mi Dios.

Now therefore ye are cursed, and there shall none of you be freed from being bondmen, and hewers of wood and drawers of water for the house of my God.

Now therefore you are cursed, and some of you will never fail to be slaves, both wood cutters and drawers of water for the house of my God.”

Risposer quelli: Fummo avvertiti noi tuoi servi, come il Signore Dio tuo avea promesso a Mosè suo servo di dare a voi tutta questa terra, e sterminarne tutti gli abitatori. La paura pertanto ci prese, e provvedemmo alle nostre vite, e il terrore che avemmo di voi, ci spinse a prendere quel partito.

Y ellos respondieron á Josué, y dijeron: Como fué dado á entender á tus siervos, que Jehová tu Dios había mandado á Moisés su siervo que os había de dar toda la tierra, y que había de destruir todos los moradores de la tierra delante de vosotros, por esto temimos en gran manera de vosotros por nuestras vidas, é hicimos esto.

And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants, how that the LORD thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were sore afraid of our lives because of you, and have done this thing.

They answered Joshua, and said, “Because your servants were certainly told how the LORD your God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you. Therefore we were very afraid for our lives because of you, and have done this thing.

Ora adunque noi siamo nelle tue mani: fa a noi quel che ti sembra ben fatto, e secondo la giustizia.

Ahora pues, henos aquí en tu mano: lo que te pareciere bueno y recto hacer de nosotros, hazlo.

And now, behold, we are in thine hand: as it seemeth good and right unto thee to do unto us, do.

Now, behold, we are in your hand. Do to us as it seems good and right to you to do.”

Giosuè adunque fece come avea detto, e li liberò dalle mani de' figliuoli d'Israele, perchè non perdessero la vita.

Y él lo hizo así; que los libró de la mano de los hijos de Israel, para que no los matasen.

And so did he unto them, and delivered them out of the hand of the children of Israel, that they slew them not.

He did so to them, and delivered them out of the hand of the children of Israel, so that they didn’t kill them.

E determinò in quel giorno che dovessero servire a tutto il popolo, e all'altare del Signore tagliando le legna, e portando l'acqua al luogo, che sarebbesi eletto il Signore, come si fa fino al presente. I cinque re, che assediavano Gabaon sono vinti, restandosi immobile il sole per lo spazio d'un giorno, e tratti fuora dalla spelonca, sono impiccati. Molti altri re sono sterminati, e molte città.

Y constituyólos Josué aquel día por leñadores y aguadores para la congregación y para el altar de Jehová, en el lugar que él escogiese: lo que son hasta hoy.

And Joshua made them that day hewers of wood and drawers of water for the congregation, and for the altar of the LORD, even unto this day, in the place which he should choose.

That day Joshua made them wood cutters and drawers of water for the congregation and for the LORD’s altar to this day, in the place which he should choose.
