1JERICHO aber schloss und blieb verschlossen vor Israel. Niemand ging hinaus und niemand hinein.
2Da sprach der Herr zu Josua: Siehe, ich gebe Jericho samt seinem Könige, all die tapfern Helden, in deine Hand.
3So zieht denn um die Stadt, alle Kriegsleute, rings um die Stadt herum, einmal; so sollst du sechs Tage lang tun.
4Und sieben Priester sollen sieben Posaunen aus Widderhörnern vor der Lade her tragen. Am siebenten Tage aber sollt ihr siebenmal um die Stadt herum ziehen, und die Priester sollen in die Posaunen stossen.
5Und wenn man das Widderhorn bläst und ihr den Schall der Posaunen hört, so soll das ganze Volk ein lautes Feldgeschrei erheben; dann wird die Stadtmauer in sich zusammenstürzen, und das Volk soll hinaufsteigen, ein jeder gerade vor sich hin.
6Da rief Josua, der Sohn Nuns, die Priester und sprach zu ihnen: Hebt die Bundeslade auf, und sieben Priester sollen sieben Posaunen aus Widderhörnern vor der Lade des Herrn her tragen.
7Zum Volke aber sprach er: Geht und zieht um die Stadt herum; die Gerüsteten aber sollen vor der Lade des Herrn her gehen.
8Als Josua dem Volke dies befahl, setzten sich die sieben Priester, welche die sieben Posaunen aus Widderhörnern vor dem Herrn her trugen, in Bewegung und stiessen in die Posaunen; die Bundeslade des Herrn aber folgte ihnen.
9Und die Gerüsteten gingen vor den Priestern her, die in die Posaunen stiessen, und die Nachhut folgte der Lade, während man in einem fort in die Posaunen stiess.
10Dem Volke aber hatte Josua geboten: Ihr sollt kein Feldgeschrei erheben, noch eure Stimme hören lassen; auch soll kein Wort aus eurem Munde kommen bis auf den Tag, wo ich zu euch sagen werde: "Erhebet das Feldgeschrei!" dann sollt ihr das Feldgeschrei erheben.
11So liess er die Lade des Herrn einmal rings um die Stadt herum ziehen. Dann kamen sie wieder in das Lager und blieben darin übernacht.
12Und am andern Morgen stand Josua frühe auf, und die Priester trugen die Lade des Herrn,
13während die sieben Priester die sieben Posaunen aus Widderhörnern vor der Lade des Herrn her trugen und in einem fort in die Posaunen stiessen und während die Gerüsteten vor ihnen her gingen, die Nachhut aber der Lade des Herrn folgte, wobei man in einem fort in die Posaunen stiess.
14So zogen sie am zweiten Tage einmal um die Stadt; dann kamen sie wieder in das Lager. Das taten sie sechs Tage lang.
15Am siebenten Tage aber machten sie sich frühe auf, als die Morgenröte heraufkam, und zogen in derselben Weise siebenmal um die Stadt; nur an diesem Tage zogen sie siebenmal um die Stadt.
16Beim siebenten Mal aber stiessen die Priester in die Posaunen; da sprach Josua zum Volke: Erhebet das Feldgeschrei; denn der Herr gibt euch die Stadt.
17Und die Stadt soll mit allem, was darin ist, dem Bann des Herrn verfallen sein; nur die Dirne Rahab soll am Leben bleiben, sie und alle, die bei ihr im Hause sind, weil sie die Boten versteckt hat, die wir aussandten. (a) 5Mo 20:16 17; Jos 2
18Nur hütet euch vor dem Gebannten, dass euch nicht gelüste, etwas davon zu nehmen und so das Lager Israels durch euch dem Bann verfalle und ins Unglück komme. (a) 5Mo 13:17
19Alles Silber und Gold und die ehernen und eisernen Geräte sind dem Herrn geweiht; in den Schatz des Herrn soll es kommen.
20Da erhob das Volk das Feldgeschrei, und sie stiessen in die Posaunen. Als nun das Volk den Schall der Posaunen hörte und laut das Feldgeschrei erhob, stürzte die Mauer in sich zusammen, und das Volk erstieg die Stadt, ein jeder gerade vor sich hin. So nahmen sie die Stadt ein.
21Und sie vollstreckten den Bann an allem, was in der Stadt war, mit der Schärfe des Schwertes, an Mann und Weib, an jung und alt, an Rind, Schaf und Esel.
22Zu den beiden Männern aber, die das Land ausgekundschaftet hatten, sprach Josua: Gehet in das Haus der Dirne und führet das Weib mit allen ihren Angehörigen von dort heraus, wie ihr es ihr geschworen habt.
23Da gingen die Jünglinge, die Kundschafter, hinein und führten Rahab, ihren Vater und ihre Mutter, ihre Brüder und alle ihre Angehörigen hinaus; auch alle ihre Verwandten führten sie hinaus und brachten sie draussen vor dem Lager Israels unter.
24Die Stadt aber verbrannten sie und alles, was darin war; nur das Silber und Gold und die ehernen und eisernen Geräte taten sie in den Schatz im Hause des Herrn.
25So liess Josua die Dirne Rahab samt ihrer Familie und allen Angehörigen am Leben; und sie blieb in Israel wohnen bis auf diesen Tag, weil sie die Boten versteckt hatte, die Josua ausgesandt, um Jericho auszukundschaften. (a) Jos 2:12 13
26Damals liess Josua die Leute schwören: Verflucht vor dem Herrn ist der Mann, der sich aufmacht und diese Stadt wieder baut; wenn er ihren Grund legt, koste es ihn seinen erstgebornen, und wenn er ihre Tore setzt, seinen jüngsten Sohn. (1) d.h. Jericho. (a) 1Kön 16:34
27So war der Herr mit Josua, und sein Ruf ging durch das ganze Land.

1EMPERO Jericó estaba cerrada, bien cerrada, á causa de los hijos de Israel: nadie entraba, ni salía.
2Mas Jehová dijo á Josué: Mira, yo he entregado en tu mano á Jericó y á su rey, con sus varones de guerra.
3Cercaréis pues la ciudad todos los hombres de guerra, yendo alrededor de la ciudad una vez: y esto haréis seis días.
4Y siete sacerdotes llevarán siete bocinas de cuernos de carneros delante del arca; y al séptimo día daréis siete vueltas á la ciudad, y los sacerdotes tocarán las bocinas.
5Y cuando tocaren prolongadamente el cuerno de carnero, así que oyereis el sonido de la bocina, todo el pueblo gritará á gran voz, y el muro de la ciudad caerá debajo de sí: entonces el pueblo subirá cada uno en derecho de sí.
6Y llamando Josué hijo de Nun á los sacerdotes, les dijo: Llevad el arca del pacto, y siete sacerdotes lleven bocinas de cuernos de carneros delante del arca de Jehová.
7Y dijo al pueblo: Pasad, y rodead la ciudad; y los que están armados pasarán delante del arca de Jehová.
8Y así que Josué hubo hablado al pueblo, los siete sacerdotes, llevando las siete bocinas de cuernos de carneros, pasaron delante del arca de Jehová, y tocaron las bocinas: y el arca del pacto de Jehová los seguía.
9Y los armados iban delante de los sacerdotes que tocaban las bocinas, y la gente reunida iba detrás del arca, andando y tocando bocinas.
10Y Josué mandó al pueblo, diciendo: Vosotros no daréis grita, ni se oirá vuestra voz, ni saldrá palabra de vuestra boca, hasta el día que yo os diga: Gritad: entonces daréis grita.
11El arca pues de Jehová dió una vuelta alrededor de la ciudad, y viniéronse al real, en el cual tuvieron la noche.
12Y Josué se levantó de mañana, y los sacerdotes tomaron el arca de Jehová.
13Y los siete sacerdotes, llevando las siete bocinas de cuernos de carneros, fueron delante del arca de Jehová, andando siempre y tocando las bocinas; y los armados iban delante de ellos, y la gente reunida iba detrás del arca de Jehová, andando y tocando las bocinas.
14Así dieron otra vuelta á la ciudad el segundo día, y volviéronse al real: de esta manera hicieron por seis días.
15Y al séptimo día levantáronse cuando subía el alba, y dieron vuelta á la ciudad de la misma manera siete veces: solamente este día dieron vuelta alrededor de ella siete veces.
16Y como los sacerdotes hubieron tocado las bocinas la séptima vez, Josué dijo al pueblo: Dad grita, porque Jehová os ha entregado la ciudad.
17Mas la ciudad será anatema á Jehová, ella con todas las cosas que están en ella: solamente Rahab la ramera vivirá, con todos los que estuvieren en casa con ella, por cuanto escondió los mensajeros que enviamos.
18Empero guardaos vosotros del anatema, que ni toquéis, ni toméis alguna cosa del anatema, porque no hagáis anatema el campo de Israel, y lo turbéis.
19Mas toda la plata, y el oro, y vasos de metal y de hierro, sea consagrado á Jehová, y venga al tesoro de Jehová.
20Entonces el pueblo dió grita, y los sacerdotes tocaron las bocinas: y aconteció que como el pueblo hubo oído el sonido de la bocina, dió el pueblo grita con gran vocerío, y el muro cayó á plomo. El pueblo subió luego á la ciudad, cada uno en derecho de sí, y tomáronla.
21Y destruyeron todo lo que en la ciudad había; hombres y mujeres, mozos y viejos, hasta los bueyes, y ovejas, y asnos, á filo de espada.
22Mas Josué dijo á los dos hombres que habían reconocido la tierra: Entrad en casa de la mujer ramera, y haced salir de allá á la mujer, y á todo lo que fuere suyo, como lo jurasteis.
23Y los mancebos espías entraron, y sacaron á Rahab, y á su padre, y á su madre, y á sus hermanos, y todo lo que era suyo; y también sacaron á toda su parentela, y pusiéronlos fuera del campo de Israel.
24Y consumieron con fuego la ciudad, y todo lo que en ella había: solamente pusieron en el tesoro de la casa de Jehová la plata, y el oro, y los vasos de metal y de hierro.
25Mas Josué salvó la vida á Rahab la ramera, y á la casa de su padre, y á todo lo que ella tenía: y habitó ella entre los Israelitas hasta hoy; por cuanto escondió los mensajeros que Josué envió á reconocer á Jericó.
26Y en aquel tiempo Josué les juramentó diciendo: Maldito delante de Jehová el hombre que se levantare y reedificare esta ciudad de Jericó. En su primogénito eche sus cimientos, y en su menor asiente sus puertas.
27Fué pues Jehová con Josué, y su nombre se divulgó por toda la tierra.

1Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.
2And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.
3And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.
4And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.
5And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.
6And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD.
7And he said unto the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the LORD.
8And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them.
9And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rereward came after the ark, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
10And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.
11So the ark of the LORD compassed the city, going about it once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp.
12And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD.
13And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rereward came after the ark of the LORD, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
14And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days.
15And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.
16And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.
17And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
18And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.
19But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated unto the LORD: they shall come into the treasury of the LORD.
20So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
21And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.
22But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot’s house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her.
23And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.
24And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD.
25And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father’s household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
26And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.
27So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country.

1Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the children of Israel. No one went out, and no one came in.
2The LORD said to Joshua, “Behold, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and the mighty men of valor.
3All of your men of war shall march around the city, going around the city once. You shall do this six days.
4Seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. On the seventh day, you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.
5It shall be that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the city wall will fall down flat, and the people shall go up, every man straight in front of him.”
6Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said to them, “Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the LORD’s ark.”
7They said to the people, “Advance! March around the city, and let the armed men pass on before the LORD’s ark.”
8It was so, that when Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the LORD advanced and blew the trumpets, and the ark of the LORD’s covenant followed them.
9The armed men went before the priests who blew the trumpets, and the ark went after them. The trumpets sounded as they went.
10Joshua commanded the people, saying, “You shall not shout nor let your voice be heard, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth until the day I tell you to shout. Then you shall shout.”
11So he caused the LORD’s ark to go around the city, circling it once. Then they came into the camp, and stayed in the camp.
12Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the LORD’s ark.
13The seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the LORD’s ark went on continually, and blew the trumpets. The armed men went in front of them. The rear guard came after the LORD’s ark. The trumpets sounded as they went.
14The second day they marched around the city once, and returned into the camp. They did this six days.
15On the seventh day, they rose early at the dawning of the day, and marched around the city in the same way seven times. On this day only they marched around the city seven times.
16At the seventh time, when the priests blew the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, “Shout, for the LORD has given you the city!
17The city shall be devoted, even it and all that is in it, to the LORD. Only Rahab the prostitute shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
18But as for you, only keep yourselves from what is devoted to destruction, lest when you have devoted it, you take of the devoted thing; so you would make the camp of Israel accursed and trouble it.
19But all the silver, gold, and vessels of bronze and iron are holy to the LORD. They shall come into the LORD’s treasury.”
20So the people shouted and the priests blew the trumpets. When the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight in front of him, and they took the city.
21They utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, both young and old, and ox, sheep, and donkey, with the edge of the sword.
22Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land, “Go into the prostitute’s house, and bring the woman and all that she has out from there, as you swore to her.”
23The young men who were spies went in, and brought out Rahab with her father, her mother, her brothers, and all that she had. They also brought out all of her relatives, and they set them outside of the camp of Israel.
24They burned the city with fire, and all that was in it. Only they put the silver, the gold, and the vessels of bronze and of iron into the treasury of the LORD’s house.
25But Rahab the prostitute, her father’s household, and all that she had, Joshua saved alive. She lives in the middle of Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
26Joshua commanded them with an oath at that time, saying, “Cursed is the man before the LORD who rises up and builds this city Jericho. With the loss of his firstborn he will lay its foundation, and with the loss of his youngest son he will set up its gates.”
27So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was in all the land.
