1Ahora bien, Jericó estaba cerrada, asegurada para defenderla de los hijos de Israel; no salían ni entraban.
2Y él Señor dijo a Josué: Mira, he entregado en tus manos a Jericó con su rey y todos sus hombres de guerra.
3Ahora, dejen que todos sus hombres de guerra hagan un círculo alrededor de la ciudad, dando vueltas alrededor una vez. Hagan esto durante seis días.
4Y que siete sacerdotes vayan ante él cofre del pacto con siete cuernos de carnero en sus manos: en el séptimo día, debes ir por el pueblo siete veces, los sacerdotes tocarán sus cuernos.
5Y ante el sonido de una larga nota en los cuernos, que todos griten fuertemente; y la muralla de la ciudad se derrumbará, y toda la gente deberá avanzar.
6Entonces Josué, el hijo de Nun, mandó llamar a los sacerdotes y les dijo: Tomen él cofre del pacto y deja que siete sacerdotes tomen siete cuernos en sus manos y vayan delante del cofre del pacto el Señor.
7Y dijo a la gente: Vayan adelante, rodeen la ciudad y dejen que los hombres armados vayan delante del cofre del pacto del Señor.
8Entonces, después de que Josué hubo dicho esto a la gente, los siete sacerdotes con sus siete cuernos avanzaron delante del Señor, soplando sobre sus cuernos, y el cofre del pacto del Señor fue tras ellos.
9Y los hombres armados iban delante de los sacerdotes que estaban tocando los cuernos, y la retaguardia de la gente fue tras él cofre del pacto, mientras los sacerdotes continuaban tocando sus cuernos.
10Y a la gente Josué dio una orden, diciendo: No gritarán, ni harán sonido alguno, y no dejen salir ninguna palabra de su boca hasta el día en que yo diga: Griten fuerte; entonces den un grito fuerte.
11Hizo que el cofre del pacto del Señor diera una vuelta por el pueblo una vez; luego volvieron a las tiendas para pasar la noche.
12Y temprano en la mañana se levantó Josué, y los sacerdotes tomaron el cofre del pacto del Señor.
13Y los siete sacerdotes con sus siete cuernos continuaron delante del cofre del pacto del Señor, tocando sus cuernos; los hombres armados fueron delante de ellos, y los hombres de guerra fue tras el arca del Señor, tocando sus cuernos.
14El segundo día marcharon alrededor del pueblo una vez, y luego regresaron a sus tiendas, y así lo hicieron durante seis días.
15Al séptimo día se levantaron temprano, al amanecer del día, y marcharon alrededor de la ciudad de la misma manera, pero ese día la rodearon siete veces.
16Y la séptima vez, al sonido de los cuernos de los sacerdotes, Josué dijo a la gente: Ahora griten fuerte; porque el Señor les ha dado el pueblo.
17Y el pueblo será sometido a la destrucción, y todo lo que en él se le dará al Señor: sólo Rahab, la mujer prostituta, y todos los que están en la casa con ella, se mantendrán a salvo, porque ella mantuvo el secreto los hombres que enviamos.
18Y en cuanto a ustedes, manténganse alejados de ciudad que él Señor ha ordenado destruir, por temor a que puedan desearlos y tomen parte de ellos, y así sean causa de una maldición y grandes problemas en las tiendas de Israel.
19Pero toda la plata y el oro y los vasos de bronce y hierro son santos para el Señor: han de entrar en la tesorería del Señor.
20Entonces la gente dio un fuerte grito, y sonaron los cuernos; y al oír los cuernos, la gente dio un fuerte grito, y la pared se derrumbó, de modo que la gente subió a la ciudad, todos los hombres derecho hacia adelante, y tomaron la ciudad.
21Y pusieron todo en el pueblo a la destrucción; Hombres y mujeres, jóvenes y viejos, bueyes y ovejas y asnos, mueren a filo de espada.
22Entonces Josué dijo a los dos hombres que habían sido enviados que hicieran una búsqueda por la tierra: Entra en la casa de la mujer prostituta y sácala, y a todos los que están con ella, como tú le diste tu juramento.
23Entonces los buscadores entraron y sacaron a Rahab, a su padre, a su madre, a sus hermanos y todo lo que tenía, y ellos sacaron a toda su familia; y los sacaron de las tiendas de Israel.
24Luego, después de quemar la ciudad y todo lo que había en ella, pusieron la plata y el oro y las vasijas de bronce y hierro en el almacén de la casa del Señor.
25Pero Josué salvó la vida a Rahab, a la mujer prostituta, y a la familia de su padre y todo lo que ella tenía, y así se ganó un lugar de vida entre los hijos de Israel hasta el día de hoy; porque ella mantuvo a salvo a los hombres que Josué había enviado para hacer una búsqueda por la tierra.
26Entonces Josué dio órdenes al pueblo con un juramento, diciendo: Que el hombre sea maldecido ante el Señor que pone su mano en la reedificación de este pueblo: con la pérdida de su primer hijo pondrá la primera piedra de la misma en su lugar, y con la pérdida de su hijo menor, él levantará sus puertas.
27Así que el Señor estaba con Josué; Y noticias de él fueron por toda la tierra.

1EMPERO Jericó estaba cerrada, bien cerrada, á causa de los hijos de Israel: nadie entraba, ni salía.
2Mas Jehová dijo á Josué: Mira, yo he entregado en tu mano á Jericó y á su rey, con sus varones de guerra.
3Cercaréis pues la ciudad todos los hombres de guerra, yendo alrededor de la ciudad una vez: y esto haréis seis días.
4Y siete sacerdotes llevarán siete bocinas de cuernos de carneros delante del arca; y al séptimo día daréis siete vueltas á la ciudad, y los sacerdotes tocarán las bocinas.
5Y cuando tocaren prolongadamente el cuerno de carnero, así que oyereis el sonido de la bocina, todo el pueblo gritará á gran voz, y el muro de la ciudad caerá debajo de sí: entonces el pueblo subirá cada uno en derecho de sí.
6Y llamando Josué hijo de Nun á los sacerdotes, les dijo: Llevad el arca del pacto, y siete sacerdotes lleven bocinas de cuernos de carneros delante del arca de Jehová.
7Y dijo al pueblo: Pasad, y rodead la ciudad; y los que están armados pasarán delante del arca de Jehová.
8Y así que Josué hubo hablado al pueblo, los siete sacerdotes, llevando las siete bocinas de cuernos de carneros, pasaron delante del arca de Jehová, y tocaron las bocinas: y el arca del pacto de Jehová los seguía.
9Y los armados iban delante de los sacerdotes que tocaban las bocinas, y la gente reunida iba detrás del arca, andando y tocando bocinas.
10Y Josué mandó al pueblo, diciendo: Vosotros no daréis grita, ni se oirá vuestra voz, ni saldrá palabra de vuestra boca, hasta el día que yo os diga: Gritad: entonces daréis grita.
11El arca pues de Jehová dió una vuelta alrededor de la ciudad, y viniéronse al real, en el cual tuvieron la noche.
12Y Josué se levantó de mañana, y los sacerdotes tomaron el arca de Jehová.
13Y los siete sacerdotes, llevando las siete bocinas de cuernos de carneros, fueron delante del arca de Jehová, andando siempre y tocando las bocinas; y los armados iban delante de ellos, y la gente reunida iba detrás del arca de Jehová, andando y tocando las bocinas.
14Así dieron otra vuelta á la ciudad el segundo día, y volviéronse al real: de esta manera hicieron por seis días.
15Y al séptimo día levantáronse cuando subía el alba, y dieron vuelta á la ciudad de la misma manera siete veces: solamente este día dieron vuelta alrededor de ella siete veces.
16Y como los sacerdotes hubieron tocado las bocinas la séptima vez, Josué dijo al pueblo: Dad grita, porque Jehová os ha entregado la ciudad.
17Mas la ciudad será anatema á Jehová, ella con todas las cosas que están en ella: solamente Rahab la ramera vivirá, con todos los que estuvieren en casa con ella, por cuanto escondió los mensajeros que enviamos.
18Empero guardaos vosotros del anatema, que ni toquéis, ni toméis alguna cosa del anatema, porque no hagáis anatema el campo de Israel, y lo turbéis.
19Mas toda la plata, y el oro, y vasos de metal y de hierro, sea consagrado á Jehová, y venga al tesoro de Jehová.
20Entonces el pueblo dió grita, y los sacerdotes tocaron las bocinas: y aconteció que como el pueblo hubo oído el sonido de la bocina, dió el pueblo grita con gran vocerío, y el muro cayó á plomo. El pueblo subió luego á la ciudad, cada uno en derecho de sí, y tomáronla.
21Y destruyeron todo lo que en la ciudad había; hombres y mujeres, mozos y viejos, hasta los bueyes, y ovejas, y asnos, á filo de espada.
22Mas Josué dijo á los dos hombres que habían reconocido la tierra: Entrad en casa de la mujer ramera, y haced salir de allá á la mujer, y á todo lo que fuere suyo, como lo jurasteis.
23Y los mancebos espías entraron, y sacaron á Rahab, y á su padre, y á su madre, y á sus hermanos, y todo lo que era suyo; y también sacaron á toda su parentela, y pusiéronlos fuera del campo de Israel.
24Y consumieron con fuego la ciudad, y todo lo que en ella había: solamente pusieron en el tesoro de la casa de Jehová la plata, y el oro, y los vasos de metal y de hierro.
25Mas Josué salvó la vida á Rahab la ramera, y á la casa de su padre, y á todo lo que ella tenía: y habitó ella entre los Israelitas hasta hoy; por cuanto escondió los mensajeros que Josué envió á reconocer á Jericó.
26Y en aquel tiempo Josué les juramentó diciendo: Maldito delante de Jehová el hombre que se levantare y reedificare esta ciudad de Jericó. En su primogénito eche sus cimientos, y en su menor asiente sus puertas.
27Fué pues Jehová con Josué, y su nombre se divulgó por toda la tierra.

1Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.
2And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.
3And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.
4And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.
5And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.
6And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD.
7And he said unto the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the LORD.
8And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them.
9And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rereward came after the ark, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
10And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.
11So the ark of the LORD compassed the city, going about it once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp.
12And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD.
13And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rereward came after the ark of the LORD, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
14And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days.
15And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.
16And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.
17And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
18And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.
19But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated unto the LORD: they shall come into the treasury of the LORD.
20So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
21And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.
22But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot’s house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her.
23And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.
24And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD.
25And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father’s household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
26And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.
27So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country.

1Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the children of Israel. No one went out, and no one came in.
2The LORD said to Joshua, “Behold, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and the mighty men of valor.
3All of your men of war shall march around the city, going around the city once. You shall do this six days.
4Seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. On the seventh day, you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.
5It shall be that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the city wall will fall down flat, and the people shall go up, every man straight in front of him.”
6Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said to them, “Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the LORD’s ark.”
7They said to the people, “Advance! March around the city, and let the armed men pass on before the LORD’s ark.”
8It was so, that when Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the LORD advanced and blew the trumpets, and the ark of the LORD’s covenant followed them.
9The armed men went before the priests who blew the trumpets, and the ark went after them. The trumpets sounded as they went.
10Joshua commanded the people, saying, “You shall not shout nor let your voice be heard, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth until the day I tell you to shout. Then you shall shout.”
11So he caused the LORD’s ark to go around the city, circling it once. Then they came into the camp, and stayed in the camp.
12Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the LORD’s ark.
13The seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the LORD’s ark went on continually, and blew the trumpets. The armed men went in front of them. The rear guard came after the LORD’s ark. The trumpets sounded as they went.
14The second day they marched around the city once, and returned into the camp. They did this six days.
15On the seventh day, they rose early at the dawning of the day, and marched around the city in the same way seven times. On this day only they marched around the city seven times.
16At the seventh time, when the priests blew the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, “Shout, for the LORD has given you the city!
17The city shall be devoted, even it and all that is in it, to the LORD. Only Rahab the prostitute shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
18But as for you, only keep yourselves from what is devoted to destruction, lest when you have devoted it, you take of the devoted thing; so you would make the camp of Israel accursed and trouble it.
19But all the silver, gold, and vessels of bronze and iron are holy to the LORD. They shall come into the LORD’s treasury.”
20So the people shouted and the priests blew the trumpets. When the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight in front of him, and they took the city.
21They utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, both young and old, and ox, sheep, and donkey, with the edge of the sword.
22Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land, “Go into the prostitute’s house, and bring the woman and all that she has out from there, as you swore to her.”
23The young men who were spies went in, and brought out Rahab with her father, her mother, her brothers, and all that she had. They also brought out all of her relatives, and they set them outside of the camp of Israel.
24They burned the city with fire, and all that was in it. Only they put the silver, the gold, and the vessels of bronze and of iron into the treasury of the LORD’s house.
25But Rahab the prostitute, her father’s household, and all that she had, Joshua saved alive. She lives in the middle of Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
26Joshua commanded them with an oath at that time, saying, “Cursed is the man before the LORD who rises up and builds this city Jericho. With the loss of his firstborn he will lay its foundation, and with the loss of his youngest son he will set up its gates.”
27So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was in all the land.
