Y CUANDO toda la gente hubo acabado de pasar el Jordán, Jehová habló á Josué, diciendo:
And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over Jordan, that the LORD spake unto Joshua, saying,

Escojan a 12 hombres del pueblo, uno por cada tribu,
Tomad del pueblo doce hombres, de cada tribu uno,
Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man,
“Take twelve men out of the people, a man out of every tribe,
y ordénales: Levanten 12 piedras de aquí, de en medio del Jordán, del lugar donde estuvieron firmes los pies de los sacerdotes. Llévenlas y deposítenlas en el lugar donde posarán esta noche.
Y mandadles, diciendo: Tomaos de aquí del medio del Jordán, del lugar donde están firmes los pies de los sacerdotes, doce piedras, las cuales pasaréis con vosotros, y las asentaréis en el alojamiento donde habéis de tener la noche.
And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Jordan, out of the place where the priests’ feet stood firm, twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging place, where ye shall lodge this night.
and command them, saying, ‘Take from out of the middle of the Jordan, out of the place where the priests’ feet stood firm, twelve stones, carry them over with you, and lay them down in the place where you’ll camp tonight.’”
Entonces Josué llamó a los 12 hombres que estableció de entre los hijos de Israel, uno de cada tribu

And Joshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of Jordan, and take ye up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of Israel:
Joshua said to them, “Cross before the ark of the LORD your God into the middle of the Jordan, and each of you pick up a stone and put it on your shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel;
Esto será señal en medio de ustedes para que cuando sus hijos les pregunten mañana: ¿Qué significan estas piedras para ustedes?
Para que esto sea señal entre vosotros; y cuando vuestros hijos preguntaren á sus padres mañana, diciendo: ¿Qué os significan estas piedras?
That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones?
that this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask in the future, saying, ‘What do you mean by these stones?’
les digan: Las aguas del Jordán fueron divididas delante del Arca del Pacto de Yavé cuando cruzó el Jordán. Las aguas del Jordán fueron cortadas, y estas piedras servirán como recuerdo a los hijos de Israel para siempre.
Les responderéis: Que las aguas del Jordán fueron partidas delante del arca del pacto de Jehová; cuando ella pasó el Jordán, las aguas del Jordán se partieron: y estas piedras serán por memoria á los hijos de Israel para siempre.
Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.
then you shall tell them, ‘Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the LORD’s covenant. When it crossed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Israel forever.’”
Los hijos de Israel hicieron como Josué ordenó, y levantaron 12 piedras de en medio del Jordán, tal como Yavé habló a Josué, conforme al número de las tribus de los hijos de Israel. Las llevaron consigo hasta el sitio donde pasaron la noche y las pusieron allí.
Y los hijos de Israel lo hicieron así como Josué les mandó: que levantaron doce piedras del medio del Jordán, como Jehová lo había dicho á Josué, conforme al número de las tribus de los hijos de Israel, y pasáronlas consigo al alojamiento, y las asentaron allí.

También los hijos de Rubén, los hijos de Gad y la media tribu de Manasés cruzaron en orden de batalla delante de los hijos de Israel, tal como Moisés les habló.

Josué ordenó a los sacerdotes: ¡Salgan del Jordán!
Y Josué mandó á los sacerdotes, diciendo: Subid del Jordán.

Aconteció que cuando los sacerdotes que cargaban el Arca del Pacto de Yavé salieron de en medio del Jordán, y las plantas de los pies de los sacerdotes subieron a terreno seco, las aguas del Jordán regresaron a su lugar y desbordaron sobre sus riberas como antes.
Y aconteció que como los sacerdotes que llevaban el arca del pacto de Jehová, subieron del medio del Jordán, y las plantas de los pies de los sacerdotes estuvieron en seco, las aguas del Jordán se volvieron á su lugar, corriendo como antes sobre todos sus bordes.
And it came to pass, when the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD were come up out of the midst of Jordan, and the soles of the priests’ feet were lifted up unto the dry land, that the waters of Jordan returned unto their place, and flowed over all his banks, as they did before.

para que todos los pueblos de la tierra sepan que la mano de Yavé es poderosa, y así temerán a Yavé su ʼElohim todos los días.
