E comanda loro che prendano di mezzo al letto del Giordano, dove si sono fermati i sacerdoti, dodici durissime pietre, le quali voi collocherete nel luogo degli alloggiamenti, dove pianterete questa notte le tende.
Y mandadles, diciendo: Tomaos de aquí del medio del Jordán, del lugar donde están firmes los pies de los sacerdotes, doce piedras, las cuales pasaréis con vosotros, y las asentaréis en el alojamiento donde habéis de tener la noche.
And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Jordan, out of the place where the priests’ feet stood firm, twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging place, where ye shall lodge this night.

E Giosuè chiamò i dodici uomini scelti tra' figliuoli d'Israele, uno per ogni tribù.
Entonces Josué llamó á los doce hombres, los cuales había él ordenado de entre los hijos de Israel, de cada tribu uno;

Y díjoles Josué: Pasad delante del arca de Jehová vuestro Dios al medio del Jordán; y cada uno de vosotros tome una piedra sobre su hombro, conforme al número de las tribus de los hijos de Israel;
And Joshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of Jordan, and take ye up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of Israel:

Affinchè servano di monumento tra voi: e allorché per l'avvenire v'interrogheranno i vostri figliuoli, e diranno: Che significan queste pietre?
Para que esto sea señal entre vosotros; y cuando vuestros hijos preguntaren á sus padres mañana, diciendo: ¿Qué os significan estas piedras?
That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones?

Risponderete loro: Le acque del Giordano sparirono dinanzi all'arca del testamento del Signore, mentre ella lo valicava: per questo sono state poste queste pietre come monumento pe' figliuoli d'Israele in perpetuo.
Les responderéis: Que las aguas del Jordán fueron partidas delante del arca del pacto de Jehová; cuando ella pasó el Jordán, las aguas del Jordán se partieron: y estas piedras serán por memoria á los hijos de Israel para siempre.

Fecero pertanto i figliuoli d'Israele secondo il comando di Giosuè, e portarono di mezzo al letto del Giordano le dodici pietre secondo il numero de' figliuoli d'Israele, come avea loro ordinato il Signore, fino al luogo, dove piantarono gli alloggiamenti; e ivi le posarono.
Y los hijos de Israel lo hicieron así como Josué les mandó: que levantaron doce piedras del medio del Jordán, como Jehová lo había dicho á Josué, conforme al número de las tribus de los hijos de Israel, y pasáronlas consigo al alojamiento, y las asentaron allí.

In quel giorno il Signore esaltò Giosuè al cospetto di tutto Israele, perchè questi lo temessero, come avean temuto Mosè, quando era in vita.

Ed egli ordinò, e disse loro: Uscite fuor del Giordano.

Come avea prima fatto nel mare Rosso asciugato da lui, per sino a tanto che noi fossimo passati.
Para que todos los pueblos de la tierra conozcan la mano de Jehová, que es fuerte; para que temáis á Jehová vuestro Dios todos los días.

Terrore de’ Chananei: la circoncisione in Galgala: celebrazione della Pasqua; cessa la manna dopo che il popolo ha mangiato de’ frutti del paese. L'Angelo del Signore apparisce a Giosuè,
