16les eaux d'amont s'arrêtèrent et formèrent comme un mur, à une grande distance, depuis Adâm, la ville voisine de Caretân, tandis que les eaux d'aval, dans la direction de la mer du Désert ou mer de Sel, achevaient de s'écouler; et le peuple effectua son passage en face de Jéricho. 17 Les prêtres, porteurs de l'arche d'alliance de l'Eternel, restèrent à pied sec au milieu du Jourdain, immobiles, pendant que tout Israël passait à pied sec, jusqu'à ce que la nation entière eût achevé de traverser le Jourdain.

16Las aguas que venían de arriba, se pararon como en un montón bien lejos de la ciudad de Adam, que está al lado de Sarethan; y las que descendían á la mar de los llanos, al mar Salado, se acabaron y fueron partidas; y el pueblo pasó en derecho de Jericó.

16That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.

World English Bible

16the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off. Then the people passed over near Jericho.
