Josué 24

Indi Giosuè congregò tutte le tribù d'Israele in Sichem, e chiamò a sè i seniori, e i principi, e i giudici, e i magistrati: e si presentarono dinanzi al Signore.

Y JUNTANDO Josué todas las tribus de Israel en Sichêm, llamó á los ancianos de Israel, y á sus príncipes, á sus jueces, y á sus oficiales; y presentáronse delante de Dios.

E mandai Mosè, ed Aronne, e flagellai l'Egitto con segni, e prodigii in gran numero.

E i figliuoli d'Israele alzarono le grida al Signore: ed egli mise folte tenebre tra voi e gli Egiziani, e mandò addosso a loro il mare che li ricoperse. Gli occhi vostri videro tutto quel che io feci in Egitto: e (dipoi) abitaste molto tempo nella solitudine.

E si levò su Balac figliuolo di Sephor re di Moab, e combattè contro Israele. E mandò a chiamare Balaam, figliuolo di Beor, perché vi maledicesse:

E spedii innanzi a voi torme di calabroni, e discacciai da' luoghi loro due re Amorrhei non per mezzo della tua spada, né del tuo arco,

Y envié tábanos delante de vosotros, los cuales los echaron de delante de vosotros, á saber, á los dos reyes de los Amorrheos; no con tu espada, ni con tu arco.

And I sent the hornet before you, which drave them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amorites; but not with thy sword, nor with thy bow.

E vi diedi una terra non da voi ridotta a cultura, e città non edificate da voi, perché le abitaste; vigne, e uliveti non piantati da voi.

Y os dí la tierra por la cual nada trabajasteis, y las ciudades que no edificasteis, en las cuales moráis; y de las viñas y olivares que no plantasteis, coméis.

And I have given you a land for which ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat.

Che se il servire al Signore vi sembra un male, vi si permette di ottare: eleggete oggi quel che vi pare, e a chi piuttosto servir dobbiate: se agli dei, a' quali servirono i padri vostri nella Mesopotamia, ovvero agli dei dell'Amorrheo, nella terra del quale abitate: io poi, e la mia casa serviremo al Signore.

Y si mal os parece servir á Jehová, escogeos hoy á quién sirváis; si á los dioses á quienes sirvieron vuestros padres, cuando estuvieron de esotra parte del río, ó á los dioses de los Amorrheos en cuya tierra habitáis: que yo y mi casa serviremos á Jehová.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

E il popolo rispose, e disse: Lungi da noi l'abbandonare il Signore, e servire a dei stranieri.

Il Signore Dio nostro egli stesso ci trasse noi, e i padri nostri dalla terra d'Egitto, dalla casa di schiavitù; e fece sugli occhi nostri prodigii grandi, e ci protesse per tutto il viaggio che facemmo, e da tutti i popoli, pe' quali passammo.

Porque Jehová nuestro Dios es el que nos sacó á nosotros y á nuestros padres de la tierra de Egipto, de la casa de servidumbre; el cual delante de nuestros ojos ha hecho estas grandes señales, y nos ha guardado por todo el camino por donde hemos andado, y en todos los pueblos por entre los cuales pasamos.

For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed:

E ha scacciate tutte queste nazioni, e l'Amorrheo abitatore della terra, in cui siamo entrati. Noi adunque serviremo al Signore, perché egli è il nostro Dio.

E Giosuè disse al popolo: Voi non potrete servire al Signore: perocchè il Signore è santo, e forte, e geloso: e non soffrirà le vostre iniquità, e i vostri peccati.

Entonces Josué dijo al pueblo: No podréis servir á Jehová, porque él es Dios santo, y Dios celoso; no sufrirá vuestras rebeliones y vuestros pecados.

And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.

Se abbandonerete il Signore, e servirete a dei stranieri, egli si volterà contro di voi, e vi flagellerà, e vi sperderà dopo avervi fatto tanto bene.

Si dejareis á Jehová y sirviereis á dioses ajenos, se volverá, y os maltratará, y os consumirá, después que os ha hecho bien.

If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.

E il popolo disse a Giosuè: Non sarà come tu dici: ma serviremo al Signore.

El pueblo entonces dijo á Josué: No, antes á Jehová serviremos.

And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the LORD.

E Giosuè al popolo: Testimoni siete voi, come vi siete eletto il Signore per servire a lui. Ed essi risposero: Siam testimoni.

Y Josué respondió al pueblo: Vosotros sois testigos contra vosotros mismos, de que os habéis elegido á Jehová para servirle. Y ellos respondieron: Testigos somos.

And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.

Or adunque (diss'egli) togliete di mezzo a voi gli dei stranieri, e soggettate i cuori vostri al Signore Dio d'Israele.

Quitad, pues, ahora los dioses ajenos que están entre vosotros, é inclinad vuestro corazón á Jehová Dios de Israel.

Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD God of Israel.

E il popolo disse a Giosuè: Serviremo il Signore Dio nostro, e saremo obbedienti ai suoi comandamenti.

And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.

Giosuè adunque fermò in quel giorno il patto, e propose al popolo i precetti, e le leggi (del Signore) in Sichem.

E disse a tutto il popolo: Ecco questa pietra, che vi servirà di testimone, come ha udite tutte le parole che il Signore ha dette a voi: affinchè non vi venga poi la voglia di negare, e dir bugia al Signore Dio vostro.

And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the LORD which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.

E congedò il popolo, che andasser ciascun alle loro terre.

Dopo di che Giosuè figliuolo di Nun, servo del Signore, morì di cento dieci anni:

Eglino ancora seppellirono le ossa di Giuseppe (le quali da' figliuoli d'Israele erano state portate dall'Egitto) in Sichem, nella parte del campo, la quale Giacobbe avea comprata da' figliuoli di Hemor padre di Sichem per cento pecore novelle, e fu poscia nella porzione de' figliuoli di Giuseppe.

Othoniel avendo presa Cariath Sepher, prende in moglie Aia figliuola di Caleb colla giunta d'un podere, che s'inaffiava. Si salvano i Chananei tributari.

También murió Eleazar, hijo de Aarón; al cual enterraron en el collado de Phinees su hijo, que le fué dado en el monte de Ephraim.
