1Für die einzelnen Geschlechter des Stammes Juda aber fiel das Los südwärts nach dem Gebiet der Edomiter, nach der Wüste Zin hin im äußersten Süden des Landes;
2und zwar geht ihre Südgrenze vom Ende des Salzmeeres, von seiner Südspitze aus,
3läuft dann weiter gegen die Südseite der Skorpionenhöhe, dann nach Zin hinüber, steigt aufwärts südlich von Kades-Barnea, geht dann weiter nach Hezron, zieht sich aufwärts nach Addar, wendet sich herum nach Karka,
4geht dann nach Azmon hinüber und setzt sich fort bis an den Bach Ägyptens, bis sie nach dem Meere hin ihr Ende erreicht: dies soll eure Südgrenze sein. –
5Die Ostgrenze aber bildet das Salzmeer bis zur Jordanmündung – und die Nordgrenze geht vom Nordende des Salzmeeres, von der Jordanmündung aus;
6dann zieht sich die Grenze hinauf nach Beth-Holga und läuft weiter bis nördlich von Beth-Araba; dann zieht die Grenze sich aufwärts zum Felsen Bohans, des Sohnes Rubens,
7geht dann vom Tal Achor aufwärts nach Debir, läuft mit veränderter Richtung nordwärts nach Gilgal, das der Anhöhe Adummim gegenüber liegt, die sich südlich von dem Bache befindet; dann zieht sich die Grenze hinüber nach dem Wasser En-Semes und läuft weiter nach der Quelle Rogel;
8sodann geht sie im Tale Ben-Hinnom hinauf südlich vom Bergrücken der Jebusiter, das ist Jerusalem; weiter zieht die Grenze sich hinauf zu dem Gipfel des Berges, der westlich vor dem Tale Hinnom am Nordende der Talebene Rephaim liegt;
9dann biegt die Grenze vom Gipfel des Berges um nach der Quelle des Wassers Nephthoah, läuft weiter nach den Ortschaften des Ephrongebirges hin und zieht mit veränderter Richtung nach Baala, das ist Kirjath-Jearim;
10von Baala wendet sie sich dann westwärts nach dem Gebirge Seir, geht hierauf hinüber nach der Nordseite des Berges Jearim, das ist Kesalon, senkt sich hinab nach Beth-Semes und weiter nach Thimna;
11dann läuft die Grenze weiter an den Nordabhang des Berges Ekron und mit veränderter Richtung nach Sikkeron, geht dann hinüber nach dem Berge von Baala, läuft weiter bis Jabneel und erreicht schließlich ihr Ende am Meer. –
12Die Westgrenze aber bildet das große Meer und sein Küstenland. Das ist die Grenze des Stammes der Judäer ringsum für ihre Geschlechter.
13Kaleb aber, dem Sohne Jephunnes, gab Josua einen Landbesitz mitten im Stamme Juda nach dem Befehl des HERRN an Josua, nämlich die Stadt Arbas, des Stammvaters der Enakiter, das ist Hebron.
14Kaleb vertrieb dann von dort die drei Enakssöhne Sesai, Ahiman und Thalmai, die Abkömmlinge Enaks,
15und zog von dort weiter gegen die Bewohner von Debir, das ehemals Kirjath-Sepher geheißen hatte.
16Als nun Kaleb bekanntmachte: »Wer Kirjath-Sepher bezwingt und erobert, dem gebe ich meine Tochter Achsa zur Frau«
17und Othniel, der Sohn des Kenas, ein Bruder Kalebs, die Stadt eroberte, gab er ihm seine Tochter Achsa zur Frau.
18Als sie ihm nun zugeführt wurde, überredete sie ihn, ein Stück Ackerland von ihrem Vater erbitten zu dürfen, und als sie dann vom Esel herabsprang und Kaleb sie fragte: »Was wünschest du?«,
19antwortete sie: »Gib mir doch ein Abschiedsgeschenk! Weil du mich in das Südland verheiratet hast, so gib mir auch Wasserquellen!« Da gab er ihr die oberen und die unteren Brunnen.
20Folgendes ist der Erbbesitz der einzelnen Geschlechter des Stammes Juda.
21Es liegen nämlich im südlichen Teil des Stammes Juda nach dem Gebiet der Edomiter hin die Ortschaften: Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur,

2Y su término de la parte del mediodía fué desde la costa del mar Salado, desde la lengua que mira hacia el mediodía;
3Y salía hacia el mediodía á la subida de Acrabim, pasando hasta Zin; y subiendo por el mediodía hasta Cades-barnea, pasaba á Hebrón, y subiendo por Addar daba vuelta á Carca;
4De allí pasaba á Azmón, y salía al arroyo de Egipto; y sale este término al occidente. Este pues os será el término del mediodía.
5El término del oriente es el mar Salado hasta el fin del Jordán. Y el término de la parte del norte, desde la lengua del mar, desde el fin del Jordán:
6Y sube este término por Beth-hogla, y pasa del norte á Beth-araba, y de aquí sube este término á la piedra de Bohán, hijo de Rubén.
7Y torna á subir este término á Debir desde el valle de Achôr: y al norte mira sobre Gilgal, que está delante de la subida de Adumin, la cual está al mediodía del arroyo: y pasa este término á las aguas de En-semes, y sale á la fuente de Rogel:
8Y sube este término por el valle del hijo de Hinnom al lado del Jebuseo al mediodía: esta es Jerusalem. Luego sube este término por la cumbre del monte que está delante del valle de Hinnom hacia el occidente, el cual está al cabo del valle de los gigantes al norte:
9Y rodea este término desde la cumbre del monte hasta la fuente de las aguas de Nephtoa, y sale á la ciudades del monte de Ephrón, rodeando luego el mismo término á Baala, la cual es Chîriath-jearim.
10Después torna este término desde Baala hacia el occidente al monte de Seir: y pasa al lado del monte de Jearim hacia el norte, esta es Chesalón, y desciende á Beth-semes, y pasa á Timna.
11Sale luego este término al lado de Ecrón hacia el norte; y rodea el mismo término á Sichêron, y pasa por el monte de Baala, y sale á Jabneel: y sale este término á la mar.
12El término del occidente es la mar grande. Este pues, es el término de los hijos de Judá en derredor, por sus familias.
13Mas á Caleb, hijo de Jephone, dió parte entre los hijos de Judá, conforme al mandamiento de Jehová á Josué: esto es, á Chîriath-arba, del padre de Anac, que es Hebrón.
14Y Caleb echó de allí tres hijos de Anac, á Sesai, Aiman, y Talmai, hijos de Anac.
15De aquí subió á los que moraban en Debir: y el nombre de Debir era antes Chîriath-sepher.
16Y dijo Caleb: Al que hiriere á Chîriath-sepher, y la tomare, yo le daré á mi hija Axa por mujer.
17Y tomóla Othoniel, hijo de Cenez, hermano de Caleb; y él le dió por mujer á su hija Axa.
18Y aconteció que cuando la llevaba, él la persuadió que pidiese á su padre tierras para labrar. Ella entonces se apeó del asno. Y Caleb le dijo: ¿Qué tienes?
19Y ella respondió: Dame bendición: pues que me has dado tierra de secadal, dame también fuentes de aguas. El entonces le dió las fuentes de arriba, y las de abajo.
20Esta pues es la herencia de la tribu de los hijos de Judá por sus familias.

1This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.
2And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:
3And it went out to the south side to Maaleh-acrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadesh-barnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:
4From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.
5And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:
6And the border went up to Beth-hogla, and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:
7And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of En-shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En-rogel:

13And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.
14And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.
15And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjath-sepher.

1The lot for the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families was to the border of Edom, even to the wilderness of Zin southward, at the uttermost part of the south.
2Their south border was from the uttermost part of the Salt Sea, from the bay that looks southward;
3and it went out southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and went up by the south of Kadesh Barnea, and passed along by Hezron, went up to Addar, and turned toward Karka;
4and it passed along to Azmon, went out at the brook of Egypt; and the border ended at the sea. This shall be your south border.

11and the border went out to the side of Ekron northward; and the border extended to Shikkeron, and passed along to Mount Baalah, and went out at Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.
12The west border was to the shore of the great sea. This is the border of the children of Judah according to their families.
13He gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even Kiriath Arba, named after the father of Anak (also called Hebron).

63As for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah couldn’t drive them out; but the Jebusites live with the children of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.
