4A tribo de José era, na verdade, duas tribos: Manassés e Efraim. Mas nenhuma parte da herança na terra foi dada aos levitas, exceto algumas cidades para que habitassem, e os seus arredores para o seu gado e para os seus bens materiais.

4For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim: therefore they gave no part unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, with their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.
