ALS aber Adoni-Zedek, der König von Jerusalem, hörte, dass Josua Ai eingenommen und an ihm den Bann vollstreckt hatte - wie Jericho und seinem Könige, so hatte er auch Ai und seinem Könige getan - und dass die Bewohner von Gibeon mit Israel Frieden gemacht hatten und in seiner Mitte blieben,

Y COMO Adonisedec rey de Jerusalem oyó que Josué había tomado á Hai, y que la había asolado, (como había hecho á Jericó y á su rey, así hizo á Hai y á su rey;) y que los moradores de Gabaón habían hecho paz con los Israelitas, y que estaban entre ellos;

Now it came to pass, when Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;

Kommt herauf zu mir und helft mir, dass wir Gibeon schlagen; denn es hat mit Josua und den Israeliten Frieden gemacht.

Subid á mí, y ayudadme, y combatamos á Gabaón: porque ha hecho paz con Josué y con los hijos de Israel.

Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.

“Come up to me and help me. Let’s strike Gibeon; for they have made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.”

Da kamen zusammen und zogen hinauf die fünf Könige der Amoriter, der König von Jerusalem, der König von Hebron, der König von Jarmuth, der König von Lachis und der König von Eglon, mit ihrem ganzen Heere und belagerten Gibeon und stritten wider die Stadt.

Y cinco reyes de los Amorrheos, el rey de Jerusalem, el rey de Hebrón, el rey de Jerimoth, el rey de Lachîs, el rey de Eglón, se juntaron y subieron, ellos con todos sus ejércitos, y asentaron campo sobre Gabaón, y pelearon contra ella.

Y los moradores de Gabaón enviaron á decir á Josué al campo en Gilgal: No encojas tus manos de tus siervos; sube prestamente á nosotros para guardarnos y ayudarnos: porque todos los reyes de los Amorrheos que habitan en las montañas, se han juntado contra nosotros.

And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us.

Und der Herr sprach zu Josua: Fürchte dich nicht vor ihnen; denn ich gebe sie in deine Hand. Niemand unter ihnen wird vor dir standhalten können.

And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.

The LORD said to Joshua, “Don’t fear them, for I have delivered them into your hands. Not a man of them will stand before you.”

Und Josua kam plötzlich über sie; die ganze Nacht durch war er von Gilgal hinaufgezogen.

Y Jehová los turbó delante de Israel, é hiriólos con gran mortandad en Gabaón: y siguiólos por el camino que sube á Beth-oron, é hiriólos hasta Azeca y Maceda.

And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Beth-horon, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.

The LORD confused them before Israel. He killed them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them by the way of the ascent of Beth Horon, and struck them to Azekah and to Makkedah.

Und als sie auf ihrer Flucht vor Israel am Abhange von Beth-Horon waren, liess der Herr grosse Steine vom Himmel auf sie fallen bis nach Aseka, sodass sie starben; derer, die von den Hagelsteinen starben, waren mehr als derer, die Israel mit dem Schwerte erschlug.

Y como iban huyendo de los Israelitas, á la bajada de Beth-oron, Jehová echó sobre ellos del cielo grandes piedras hasta Azeca, y murieron: muchos más murieron de las piedras del granizo, que los que los hijos de Israel habían muerto á cuchillo.

And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Beth-horon, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

As they fled from before Israel, while they were at the descent of Beth Horon, the LORD hurled down great stones from the sky on them to Azekah, and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than those whom the children of Israel killed with the sword.

Damals, an dem Tage, als der Herr die Amoriter den Israeliten preisgab, redete Josua mit dem Herrn und sprach in Gegenwart Israels: Sonne, stehe still zu Gibeon, / und Mond im Tal von Ajalon! /

Entonces Josué habló á Jehová el día que Jehová entregó al Amorrheo delante de los hijos de Israel, y dijo en presencia de los Israelitas: Sol, detente en Gabaón; y tú, Luna, en el valle de Ajalón.

Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.

Then Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel. He said in the sight of Israel, “Sun, stand still on Gibeon! You, moon, stop in the valley of Aijalon!”

Da stand die Sonne still, und der Mond blieb stehen, / bis das Volk Rache genommen an seinen Feinden. Steht das nicht im Buche des Wackern? So stand die Sonne still mitten am Himmel und eilte nicht, unterzugehen, beinahe einen ganzen Tag. (a) 2Sa 1:18

Y el sol se detuvo y la luna se paró, hasta tanto que la gente se hubo vengado de sus enemigos. ¿No está aquesto escrito en el libro de Jasher? Y el sol se paró en medio del cielo, y no se apresuró á ponerse casi un día entero.

And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

Und niemals, nicht vorher und nicht nachher, hat der Herr auf eines Mannes Stimme gehört, wie an diesem Tage; denn der Herr stritt für Israel.

And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.

Dann zog Josua ins Lager nach Gilgal zurück und ganz Israel mit ihm.

Josua sprach: So wälzet grosse Steine vor den Eingang der Höhle und stellet Männer davor, sie zu bewachen.

And Joshua said, Roll great stones upon the mouth of the cave, and set men by it for to keep them:

Ihr aber, bleibt nicht stehen, sondern jaget euren Feinden nach und schlaget ihre Nachhut und lasst sie nicht in ihre Städte kommen; denn der Herr, euer Gott, gibt sie in eure Hand.

Y vosotros no os paréis, sino seguid á vuestros enemigos, y heridles la retaguardia, sin dejarles entrar en sus ciudades; porque Jehová vuestro Dios los ha entregado en vuestra mano.

And stay ye not, but pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the LORD your God hath delivered them into your hand.

but don’t stay there. Pursue your enemies, and attack them from the rear. Don’t allow them to enter into their cities; for the LORD your God has delivered them into your hand.”

Als nun Josua und die Israeliten ihnen eine sehr schwere Niederlage beigebracht hatten, bis ihr letzter Mann gefallen war - was aber von ihnen hatte entrinnen können, war in die festen Städte entkommen -,

Y aconteció que como Josué y los hijos de Israel hubieron acabado de herirlos con mortandad muy grande, hasta destruirlos, los que quedaron de ellos se metieron en las ciudades fuertes.

And it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of slaying them with a very great slaughter, till they were consumed, that the rest which remained of them entered into fenced cities.

da kehrte das ganze Volk wohlbehalten ins Lager zu Josua nach Makkeda zurück; niemand wagte mehr, gegen Israel zu mucksen.

Y todo el pueblo se volvió salvo al campo á Josué en Maceda; que no hubo quien moviese su lengua contra los hijos de Israel.

And all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace: none moved his tongue against any of the children of Israel.

Als man aber jene Könige zu Josua herausbrachte, berief er alle Männer Israels und sprach zu den Obersten des Kriegsvolkes, die mit ihm gezogen waren: Tretet herzu und setzt diesen Königen den Fuss auf den Nacken! Da traten sie herzu und setzten ihnen den Fuss auf den Nacken.

And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.

Dann sprach Josua zu ihnen: Fürchtet euch nicht und seid unverzagt, seid fest und unentwegt; denn so wird der Herr allen euren Feinden tun, wider die ihr streitet.

Y Josué les dijo: No temáis, ni os atemoricéis; sed fuertes y valientes: porque así hará Jehová á todos vuestros enemigos contra los cuales peleáis.

And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.

Darnach liess Josua sie totschlagen und an fünf Pfähle hängen. Und sie hingen an den Pfählen bis zum Abend.

Auch Makkeda nahm Josua an demselben Tage ein und schlug es samt seinem Könige mit der Schärfe des Schwertes, indem er an der Stadt und allem Lebenden, das darin war, den Bann vollstreckte, ohne jemand übrigzulassen; und er tat dem Könige von Makkeda, wie er dem Könige von Jericho getan hatte.

En aquel mismo día tomó Josué á Maceda, y la puso á cuchillo, y mató á su rey; á ellos y á todo lo que en ella tenía vida, sin quedar nada: mas al rey de Maceda hizo como había hecho al rey de Jericó.

And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho.

Damals zog Horam, der König von Geser, herauf, Lachis zu helfen; aber Josua schlug ihn samt seinem Volke, dass nicht einer übrigblieb.
