28Et dans ce même jour Josué ayant pris Makkéda la mit à sac avec le tranchant de l'épée, et il dévoua son Roi, ainsi que toutes les personnes qui s'y trouvaient, et ne laissa survivre aucun réchappé ; et il traita le Roi de Makkéda comme il avait traité le Roi de Jéricho.

28And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho.
World English Bible
28Joshua took Makkedah on that day, and struck it with the edge of the sword, with its king. He utterly destroyed it and all the souls who were in it. He left no one remaining. He did to the king of Makkedah as he had done to the king of Jericho.
