8Y nacido que hubo el sol, dispuso el Señor que soplase un viento solano que quemaba; hería el sol en la cabeza de Jonás , quien se abrasaba y deseaba la muerte, diciendo: Mejor me es morir que vivir.

8Y acaeció que al salir el sol, preparó Dios un recio viento solano; y el sol hirió á Jonás en la cabeza, y desmayábase, y se deseaba la muerte, diciendo: Mejor sería para mí la muerte que mi vida.

8And it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live.
World English Bible
8When the sun arose, God prepared a sultry east wind; and the sun beat on Jonah’s head, so that he was faint and requested for himself that he might die. He said, “It is better for me to die than to live.”
