Y FUÉ palabra de Jehová segunda vez á Jonás, diciendo:
And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,

« Lève-toi, va à Ninive, la grande ville, et proclame-y le message que je te donne. »
Levántate, y ve á Nínive, aquella gran ciudad, y publica en ella el pregón que yo te diré.

Jonas se leva donc et alla à Ninive, selon la parole du SEIGNEUR. Or Ninive était une ville immense, de trois jours de marche.
Y levantóse Jonás, y fué á Nínive, conforme á la palabra de Jehová. Y era Nínive ciudad sobremanera grande, de tres días de camino.

Il fit publier cette proclamation dans Ninive, par décret du roi et de ses grands : « Que ni les hommes ni les bêtes, ni le gros ni le petit bétail, ne goûtent à rien ; qu'ils ne prennent aucune nourriture et ne boivent pas d'eau !
E hizo pregonar y anunciar en Nínive, por mandado del rey y de sus grandes, diciendo: Hombres y animales, bueyes y ovejas, no gusten cosa alguna, no se les dé alimento, ni beban agua:

Que les hommes et les bêtes soient couverts de sacs, qu'ils crient à Dieu avec force, et que chacun revienne de sa mauvaise voie et des actes de violence qu'il commet.

Qui sait si Dieu ne se ravisera pas et ne renoncera pas à son dessein, s'il ne reviendra pas de son ardente colère, afin que nous ne périssions pas ? »
¿Quién sabe si se volverá y arrepentirá Dios, y se apartará del furor de su ira, y no pereceremos?
Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

Dieu vit leurs œuvres, constatant qu'ils revenaient de leur mauvaise voie. Dieu renonça alors au malheur qu'il avait annoncé vouloir leur infliger, et il ne l'accomplit pas.
Y vió Dios lo que hicieron, que se convirtieron de su mal camino: y arrepintióse del mal que había dicho les había de hacer, y no lo hizo.
And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
