1Der Herr ersah sich einen großen Fisch, den Jonas zu verschlingen. Und Jonas blieb drei Tage und drei Nächte im Leib des Fisches.
2Und Jonas betete zu seinem Gott und Herrn, nachdem er wieder außerhalb des Fischleibs war.
3Er sprach: "Ich hab zum Herrn in meiner Not gerufen; da hat er mich erhört. Ich schrie um Hilfe aus dem Schoß der Unterwelt, und Du vernahmst mein Rufen.
4Du warfst mich in die Tiefe, in des Meeres Mitte. Und mich umgab die Strömung. All Deine Wogen, Deine Wellen gingen über mich.
5Da hatte ich gesprochen: Verstoßen bin ich jetzt aus Deinen Augen. Ach, könnte ich doch wieder Deinen heiligen Tempel schauen!
6Die Wasser gingen mir bis an die Kehle. Der Abgrund hielt mich fest umfangen, und Meergras schlang sich um mein Haupt.
7Bis zu der Berge Gründen war ich schon hinabgefahren; der Erde Riegel wollten ewig mich verschließen. Da hast Du, Herr, mein Gott, mein Leben vor dem Untergang gerettet.
8Als meine Lebenskraft in mir zu Ende ging, da habe ich des Herrn gedacht. Mein Flehen kam zu Dir in Deinen heiligen Tempel.
9Die nichtigen Götzen dienen, verlassen ihre treue Hilfe.
10Ich aber muß mit lautem Dank Dir opfern. Was ich gelobt, muß ich erfüllen; erschienen ist des Herren Hilfe." Dem Fische hatte ja der Herr geboten, aufs trockne Land den Jonas auszuspeien.

1MAS Jehová había prevenido un gran pez que tragase á Jonás: y estuvo Jonás en el vientre del pez tres días y tres noches.
2Y oró Jonás desde el vientre del pez á Jehová su Dios,
3Y dijo: Clamé de mi tribulación á Jehová, y él me oyó; del vientre del sepulcro clamé, y mi voz oiste.
4Echásteme en el profundo, en medio de los mares, y rodeóme la corriente; todas tus ondas y tus olas pasaron sobre mí.
5Y yo dije: Echado soy de delante de tus ojos: mas aun veré tu santo templo.
6Las aguas me rodearon hasta el alma, rodeóme el abismo; la ova se enredó á mi cabeza.
7Descendí á las raíces de los montes; la tierra echó sus cerraduras sobre mí para siempre: mas tú sacaste mi vida de la sepultura, oh Jehová Dios mío.
8Cuando mi alma desfallecía en mí, acordéme de Jehová; y mi oración entró hasta ti en tu santo templo.
9Los que guardan las vanidades ilusorias, su misericordia abandonan.
10Yo empero con voz de alabanza te sacrificaré; pagaré lo que prometí. La salvación pertenece á Jehová. Y mandó Jehová al pez, y vomitó á Jonás en tierra.
King James Version
1Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly,
2And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
3For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.
4Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.
5The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.
6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.
7When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
8They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
9But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.
10And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
World English Bible
1Then Jonah prayed to the LORD, his God, out of the fish’s belly.
2He said, “I called because of my affliction to the LORD. He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried. You heard my voice.
3For you threw me into the depths, in the heart of the seas. The flood was all around me. All your waves and your billows passed over me.
4I said, ‘I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.’
5The waters surrounded me, even to the soul. The deep was around me. The weeds were wrapped around my head.
6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth barred me in forever; yet you have brought my life up from the pit, LORD my God.
7“When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the LORD. My prayer came in to you, into your holy temple.
8Those who regard vain idols forsake their own mercy.
9But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving. I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation belongs to the LORD.”
10Then the LORD spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah on the dry land.
