Es un día de oscuridad y tristeza, un día de nubes y densas tinieblas. Como el amanecer que se dispersa en las montañas, un gran y poderoso ejército se acerca. Nunca ha habido un ejército como éste, y nunca más lo habrá, aún después de muchas generaciones.
Día de tinieblas y de oscuridad, día de nube y de sombra, que sobre los montes se derrama como el alba: un pueblo grande y fuerte: nunca desde el siglo fué semejante, ni después de él será jamás en años de generación en generación.

La apariencia del ejército es como de caballos, y corren como jinetes.

Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.

En su presencia la gente está en angustia y a todos les palidecen los rostros.
Delante de él temerán los pueblos, pondránse mustios todos los semblantes.
Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.

Corren como poderosos guerreros; escalan las murallas como soldados; marchan, cada uno a su paso, y no se salen de sus filas.
Como valientes correrán, como hombres de guerra subirán la muralla; y cada cual irá en sus caminos, y no torcerán sus sendas.
They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:

Se apresuran sobre la ciudad, corren sobre la muralla, se trepan en las casas, y penetran las ventanas como ladrones.

They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.

La tierra se sacude frente a ellos, los cielos tiemblan, el sol y la luna se oscurecen, y las estrellas dejan de brillar.
Delante de él temblará la tierra, se estremecerán los cielos: el sol y la luna se oscurecerán, y las estrellas retraerán su resplandor.
The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:

El SEÑOR alza Su voz delante de Su ejército, porque Sus guerreros son numerosos; porque son fuertes, esos que ejecutan Sus mandatos. Porque el día del SEÑOR es grande y muy terrible. ¿Quién lo sobrevivirá?
Y Jehová dará su voz delante de su ejército: porque muchos son sus reales y fuertes, que ponen en efecto su palabra: porque grande es el día de Jehová, y muy terrible; ¿y quién lo podrá sufrir?
And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
The LORD thunders his voice before his army, for his forces are very great; for he is strong who obeys his command; for the day of the LORD is great and very awesome, and who can endure it?
"Aún ahora," dice el SEÑOR, "regresen a Mí de todo corazón. Ayunen, lloren y lamentense."
Por eso pues ahora, dice Jehová, convertíos á mí con todo vuestro corazón, con ayuno y lloro y llanto.
Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
“Yet even now,” says the LORD, “turn to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning.”
Rasguen su corazón y no solo sus vestidos, y regresen a el SEÑOR su Dios. Porque Él es bondadoso y misericordioso, lento para airarse y abundante en la fidelidad del pacto, y Él quisiera dejar de inflir castigo.
Y lacerad vuestro corazón, y no vuestros vestidos; y convertíos á Jehová vuestro Dios; porque misericordioso es y clemente, tardo para la ira, y grande en misericordia, y que se arrepiente del castigo.
And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
Tear your heart and not your garments, and turn to the LORD, your God; for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, and relents from sending calamity.
¿Quién sabe? ¿Quizas cambiará y tendrá compasión, y dejará una bendición tras Él, una ofrenda de grano y una ofrenda de bebida para el SEÑOR su Dios?
¿Quién sabe si volverá, y se apiadará, y dejará bendición tras de él, presente y libación para Jehová Dios vuestro?
Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?
Who knows? He may turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind him, even a meal offering and a drink offering to the LORD, your God.
Toquen la trompeta en Sion, convoquen un ayuno santo, y convoquen una santa asamblea.

Reúnan al pueblo, convoquen una asamblea santa. Reúnan a los ancianos, junten a los niños y a los infantes de pecho. Dejen que los novios salgan de sus habitaciones, y las novias de sus cámaras nupciales.
Reunid el pueblo, santificad la reunión, juntad los viejos, congregad los niños y los que maman: salga de su cámara el novio, y de su tálamo la novia.
Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

Dejen que los sacerdotes, los siervos del SEÑOR, lloren entre el pórtico y el altar. Dejen que digan: "Ten piedad de Tu pueblo, SEÑOR, y no avergüences a Tu herencia, de manera que las naciones se enseñoreen sobre ellos. ¿Por qué habrían de decir entre las naciones: '¿Dónde está su Dios?'"
Entre la entrada y el altar, lloren los sacerdotes, ministros de Jehová, y digan: Perdona, oh Jehová, á tu pueblo, y no pongas en oprobio tu heredad, para que las gentes se enseñoreen de ella. ¿Por qué han de decir entre los pueblos: Dónde está su Dios?
Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?

Entonces el SEÑOR sintió celo por Su tierra y tuvo piedad de Su pueblo.
Y Jehová celará su tierra, y perdonará su pueblo.
Then will the LORD be jealous for his land, and pity his people.

El SEÑOR le contestó a Su pueblo: "Miren, Yo les enviaré grano, vino nuevo y aceite. Ustedes estarán satisfechos con ellos, y Yo ya no los convertiré en una desgracia entre las naciones.
Y responderá Jehová, y dirá á su pueblo: He aquí yo os envío pan, y mosto, y aceite, y seréis saciados de ellos: y nunca más os pondré en oprobio entre las gentes.
Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:
The LORD answered his people, “Behold, I will send you grain, new wine, and oil, and you will be satisfied with them; and I will no more make you a reproach among the nations.
Quitaré los atacantes del norte lejos de ustedes. y los conduciré a una tierra seca y abandonada. La parte delantera de su ejército entrará al mar oriental, y la parte postrera al mar occidental. Su hedor subirá, y su olor apestoso ascenderá." Ciertamente, Él ha hecho cosas grandes.
Y haré alejar de vosotros al del aquilón, y echarélo en la tierra seca y desierta: su faz será hacia el mar oriental, y su fin al mar occidental, y exhalará su hedor; y subirá su pudrición, porque hizo grandes cosas.
But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.
But I will remove the northern army far away from you, and will drive it into a barren and desolate land, its front into the eastern sea, and its back into the western sea; and its stench will come up, and its bad smell will rise.” Surely he has done great things.
No temas, tierra, alégrate y regocíjate, porque el SEÑOR hará cosas grandes.
Tierra, no temas; alégrate y gózate: porque Jehová ha de hacer grandes cosas.
Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.

No teman, bestias del campo, porque los pastos del desierto brotarán, los árboles darán su fruto, y las higueras y las vides producirán su cosecha completa.
Animales del campo, no temáis; porque los pastos del desierto reverdecerán, porque los árboles llevarán su fruto, la higuera y la vid darán sus frutos.
Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.
Don’t be afraid, you animals of the field; for the pastures of the wilderness spring up, for the tree bears its fruit. The fig tree and the vine yield their strength.
Alégrate, pueblo de Sion, y regocíjense en el SEÑOR su Dios. Porque Él les dará las lluvias de otoño a su tiempo y dejará caer lluvias para ustedes, la lluvia otoñal y la lluvia primaveral como antes.
Vosotros también, hijos de Sión, alegraos y gozaos en Jehová vuestro Dios; porque os ha dado la primera lluvia arregladamente, y hará descender sobre vosotros lluvia temprana y tardía como al principio.
Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
“Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD, your God; for he gives you the early rain in just measure, and he causes the rain to come down for you, the early rain and the latter rain, as before.
Los pisos donde se trilla el grano se llenarán de trigo, y las tinajas rebosarán de vino nuevo y aceite.
Y las eras se henchirán de trigo, y los lagares rebosarán de vino y aceite.
And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil.
The threshing floors will be full of wheat, and the vats will overflow with new wine and oil.
"Yo les restauraré los años de cosechas que el enjambre de langostas se ha comido - la gran langosta, la langosta devoradora, y la langosta destructora - Mi poderoso ejército que Yo envié entre ustedes.
Y os restituiré los años que comió la oruga, la langosta, el pulgón, y el revoltón; mi grande ejército que envié contra vosotros.
And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.

Ustedes comerán en abundancia y se saciarán, y alabarán el nombre de el SEÑOR su Dios, Quien ha hecho maravillas entre ustedes, y Yo jamás volveré a traer vergüenza sobre Mi pueblo.
Y comeréis hasta saciaros, y alabaréis el nombre de Jehová vuestro Dios, el cual hizo maravillas con vosotros: y nunca jamás será mi pueblo avergonzado.
And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
You will have plenty to eat and be satisfied, and will praise the name of the LORD, your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and my people will never again be disappointed.
Ustedes sabrán que Yo estoy entre Israel, y que soy el SEÑOR su Dios, y que no hay nadie más, y nunca más avergonzaré a Mi pueblo.
Y conoceréis que en medio de Israel estoy yo, y que yo soy Jehová vuestro Dios, y no hay otro: y mi pueblo nunca jamás será avergonzado.
And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
You will know that I am among Israel, and that I am the LORD, your God, and there is no one else; and my people will never again be disappointed.
Acontecerá luego que Yo derramaré mi Espíritu sobre toda carne, y sus hijos y sus hijas profetizarán. Sus ancianos soñarán sueños, sus hombres jóvenes verán visiones.
Y será que después de esto, derramaré mi Espíritu sobre toda carne, y profetizarán vuestros hijos y vuestras hijas; vuestros viejos soñarán sueños, y vuestros mancebos verán visiones.
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

También sobre los siervos y siervas, en aquellos días derramaré mi Espíritu.

Acontecerá que todos los que invoquen el nombre del SEÑOR serán salvos. Porque en el Monte Sion y en Jerusalén habrá quienes escaparán, como ha dicho el SEÑOR, y entre los sobrevivienes, aquellos a quienes el SEÑOR llama.
Y será que cualquiera que invocare el nombre de Jehová, será salvo: porque en el monte de Sión y en Jerusalem habrá salvación, como Jehová ha dicho, y en los que quedaren, á los cuales Jehová habrá llamado.
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
It will happen that whoever will call on the LORD’s name shall be saved; for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, as the LORD has said, and among the remnant, those whom the LORD calls.
