Ma Baldad di Suh prese la parola, e disse:
Y RESPONDIÓ Bildad Suhita, y dijo:
Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,
Fino a quando discorrerai tu in simil guisa, e le parole della tua bocca saranno un vento furioso?
¿Hasta cuándo hablarás tales cosas, y las palabras de tu boca serán como un viento fuerte?
How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?
“How long will you speak these things? Shall the words of your mouth be a mighty wind?
Forse Dio non è retto nel giudicare, e l'Onnipotente altera la giustizia?
¿Acaso pervertirá Dios el derecho, ó el Todopoderoso pervertirá la justicia?
Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?
Does God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert righteousness?
Abbenchè abbiano i tuoi figliuoli peccato contro di lui, ed ei gli abbia lasciati in balia della loro iniquità,
Si tus hijos pecaron contra él, él los echó en el lugar de su pecado.
If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;
If your children have sinned against him, he has delivered them into the hand of their disobedience.
Nulladimeno se tu con sollecitudine ricorri a Dio, e preghi l'Onnipotente:
Si tú de mañana buscares á Dios, y rogares al Todopoderoso;
If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;
If you want to seek God diligently, make your supplication to the Almighty.
Se camminerai con innocenza, e rettitudine, egli tosto si sveglierà in tuo soccorso, e la pace renderà all'abitazione di tua innocenza:
Si fueres limpio y derecho, cierto luego se despertará sobre ti, y hará próspera la morada de tu justicia.
If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.
If you were pure and upright, surely now he would awaken for you, and make the habitation of your righteousness prosperous.
Talmente che se i tuoi principj furono piccoli, l'ultimo stato tuo sarà grande oltre modo.
Y tu principio habrá sido pequeño, y tu postrimería acrecerá en gran manera.
Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.
Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would greatly increase.
Imperocché interroga le passate generazioni, e diligentemente riscontrai le memorie de' padri:
Porque pregunta ahora á la edad pasada, y disponte para inquirir de sus padres de ellos;
For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:
“Please inquire of past generations. Find out about the learning of their fathers.
(Perocché noi siamo di jeri, e siamo ignoranti, mentre un'ombra sono i giorni nostri sopra la terra.)
Pues nosotros somos de ayer, y no sabemos, siendo nuestros días sobre la tierra como sombra.
(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)
(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days on earth are a shadow.)
E quelli ti istruiranno, parleranno a te, e dal cuor loro metteran fuora le lor sentenze.
¿No te enseñarán ellos, te dirán, y de su corazón sacarán palabras?
Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
Shall they not teach you, tell you, and utter words out of their heart?
Può egli il giunco serbarsi verde senza l'umore, o crescere senz'acqua la carice?
¿Crece el junco sin lodo? ¿crece el prado sin agua?
Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?
“Can the papyrus grow up without mire? Can the rushes grow without water?
Mentre ella è in vigore, senza che mano alcuna la offenda inaridisce prima che tutte le altre erbe:
Aun él en su verdor no será cortado, y antes de toda hierba se secará.
Whilst it is yet in his greenness, and not cut down, it withereth before any other herb.
While it is yet in its greenness, not cut down, it withers before any other reed.
Tal'è la sorte di tutti quelli, che si scordano di Dio: così la speranza dell'ipocrita andrà in fumo:
Tales son los caminos de todos los que olvidan á Dios: y la esperanza del impío perecerá:
So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite’s hope shall perish:
So are the paths of all who forget God. The hope of the godless man will perish,
Ei non si vanterà di sua stoltezza, e la sua fidanza sarà qual tela di ragno.
Porque su esperanza será cortada, y su confianza es casa de araña.
Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider’s web.
whose confidence will break apart, whose trust is a spider’s web.
Egli si appoggerà alla sua casa, e questa traballerà, la appuntellerà, e non istarà ritta:
Apoyaráse él sobre su casa, mas no permanecerá en pie; atendráse á ella, mas no se afirmará.
He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.
He will lean on his house, but it will not stand. He will cling to it, but it will not endure.
Una pianta si vede fresca prima che venga il sole, e nel suol nativo germoglia.
A manera de un árbol, está verde delante del sol, y sus renuevos salen sobre su huerto;
He is green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.
He is green before the sun. His shoots go out along his garden.
Le sue radici si implicano in una massa di pietre, ed ella vive trai sassi.
Vanse entretejiendo sus raíces junto á una fuente, y enlazándose hasta un lugar pedregoso.
His roots are wrapped about the heap, and seeth the place of stones.
His roots are wrapped around the rock pile. He sees the place of stones.
Se uno la svellerà dal suo sito, ella vi rinunzierà dicendo: Non ho che fare con te.
Si le arrancaren de su lugar, éste negarále entonces, diciendo: Nunca te vi.
If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.
If he is destroyed from his place, then it will deny him, saying, ‘I have not seen you.’
Perocché la fortuna di sua condizione è questa, che altri polloni spuntino di nuovo da quella terra.
Ciertamente éste será el gozo de su camino; y de la tierra de donde se traspusiere, nacerán otros.
Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.
Behold, this is the joy of his way. Out of the earth, others will spring.
Dio non rigetta l'uomo dabbene, ma non porgerà la mano ai malvagj:
He aquí, Dios no aborrece al perfecto, ni toma la mano de los malignos.
Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:
“Behold, God will not cast away a blameless man, neither will he uphold the evildoers.
Tu una volta avrai in bocca il riso, e sulle tue labbra canti di allegrezza.
Aun henchirá tu boca de risa, y tus labios de júbilo.
Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.
He will still fill your mouth with laughter, your lips with shouting.
Coloro che ti odiano saranno coperti di confusione; ma il padiglione degli empj non sussisterà. Giobbe confessa, che Dio è giusto in tutte le cose, e che l'uomo non può convincere Dio di ingiustizia: l'uomo (dice Giobbe) paragonato con Dio non può giustificarsi: si dimostra la gran possanza, e sapienza di Dio, onde nissuno può resistere a lui, e riconvenirlo: ma Dio affligge l’empio, e l'innocente. Giobbe difende ancora la sua innocenza contro gli amici, rammemorando le sue afflizioni.
Los que te aborrecen, serán vestidos de confusión; y la habitación de los impíos perecerá.
They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.
Those who hate you will be clothed with shame. The tent of the wicked will be no more.”
