Cingi da uomo i tuoi fianchi, io ti interrogherò, e tu rispondimi.
Cíñete ahora como varón tus lomos; yo te preguntaré, y explícame.
Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
“Shall he who argues contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it.”
Renderai tu vano il mio giudizio, e me condannerai per giustificare te stesso?
¿Invalidarás tú también mi juicio? ¿me condenarás á mí, para justificarte á ti?
Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

Che se tu hai braccio come quello di Dio, ed è simile al suo il tuono della tua voce,
¿Tienes tú brazo como Dios? ¿y tronarás tú con voz como él?
Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
“Behold, I am of small account. What will I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth.
Ammantati di splendore, e levati in alto, e fatti glorioso, e ornati di magnifiche vesti.
Atavíate ahora de majestad y de alteza: y vístete de honra y de hermosura.
Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
I have spoken once, and I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.”
Dispergi col tuo furore i superbi, e col tuo sguardo umilia tutti gli arroganti.
Esparce furores de tu ira: y mira á todo soberbio, y abátelo.
Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

Volgi l'occhio sopra tutti i superbi, e confondili, e gli empj annichila dovunque si stanno.
Mira á todo soberbio, y humíllalo, y quebranta á los impíos en su asiento.
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
“Now brace yourself like a man. I will question you, and you will answer me.
Sotterrali tutti insieme nella polvere, e nella fossa sommetrgi le loro teste:
Encúbrelos á todos en el polvo, venda sus rostros en la oscuridad;
Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?
E io confesserò, che la tua destra potrà salvarti.
Y yo también te confesaré que podrá salvarte tu diestra.
Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
Or do you have an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him?
Mira Beemoth, cui io feci con te; egli mangerà del fieno qual bue:
He aquí ahora behemoth, al cual yo hice contigo; hierba come como buey.
Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
“Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty.
La sua fortezza sta ne' suoi fianchi, e il suo valore nel bellico del suo ventre.
He aquí ahora que su fuerza está en sus lomos, y su fortaleza en el ombligo de su vientre.
Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
Pour out the fury of your anger. Look at everyone who is proud, and bring him low.

Egli è la primaria tralle opere di Dio: colui che lo fece farà uso della sua spada.
El es la cabeza de los caminos de Dios: el que lo hizo, puede hacer que su cuchillo á él se acerque.
Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
Then I will also admit to you that your own right hand can save you.
A lui i monti producono l'erbe; ivi vanno a scherzare tutte le bestie de' campi.
Ciertamente los montes producen hierba para él: y toda bestia del campo retoza allá.
Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
“See now behemoth, which I made as well as you. He eats grass as an ox.
Ei dorme all'ombra, al fresco dei cannetti, e in luoghi umidi.
Echaráse debajo de las sombras, en lo oculto de las cañas, y de los lugares húmedos.
Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
Look now, his strength is in his thighs. His force is in the muscles of his belly.
L'ombra assicura il suo soggiorno, ei si caccia trai salci del torrente.
Los árboles sombríos lo cubren con su sombra; los sauces del arroyo lo cercan.
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
He moves his tail like a cedar. The sinews of his thighs are knit together.
Mira com'egli assorbisce un fiume senza scomporsi, ed ha fidanza, che il Giordano venga a passare per la sua gola.
He aquí que él tomará el río sin inmutarse: y confíase que el Jordán pasará por su boca.
His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
His bones are like tubes of bronze. His limbs are like bars of iron.
Ei sarà preso per gli occhi quasi con amo, e saran traforate le sue narici col morso.
¿Tomarálo alguno por sus ojos en armadijos, y horadará su nariz?
He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
He is the chief of the ways of God. He who made him gives him his sword.
Potrai tu tirar fuori il Leviathan e legarli con amo, e con fune la lingua?

Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
Surely the mountains produce food for him, where all the animals of the field play.
Gli porrai tu un cerchio alle narici, e gli traforerai la mascella con un anello?

He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
He lies under the lotus trees, in the covert of the reed, and the marsh.
Forse egli farà a te grandi preghiere, o ti darà dolci parole?

The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
The lotuses cover him with their shade. The willows of the brook surround him.
Farà egli patto con te, onde tu lo abbi in ischiavo per sempre?

Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
Behold, if a river overflows, he doesn’t tremble. He is confident, though the Jordan swells even to his mouth.
Scherzerai forse con lui, come con un uccello, e lo legherai per trastullo delle tue serve?

He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
Shall any take him when he is on the watch, or pierce through his nose with a snare?
Lo farann'eglino in pezzi i tuo amici, e lo trinceranno i negozianti.
