How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands.

Plötzlich sterben sie, inmitten der Nacht; / er schlägt die Hohen, und sie fahren dahin, / und den Starken beseitigt er, ohne die Hand zu rühren. /
En un momento morirán, y á media noche se alborotarán los pueblos, y pasarán, y sin mano será quitado el poderoso.
In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.

denn nicht ist dem Menschen Tag und Stunde angesagt, / da er vor Gott treten muss zum Gericht. /
No carga pues él al hombre más de lo justo, para que vaya con Dios á juicio.
For he will not lay upon man more than right; that he should enter into judgment with God.
For he doesn’t need to consider a man further, that he should go before God in judgment.
Er zerbricht Gewaltige ohne Untersuchung / und setzt andre an ihre Stelle. /
El quebrantará á los fuertes sin pesquisa, y hará estar otros en su lugar.
He shall break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead.
He breaks mighty men in pieces in ways past finding out, and sets others in their place.
Darum: er kennt ihre Werke, / er stürzt (sie) des Nachts, und sie werden zermalmt; /
Por tanto él hará notorias las obras de ellos, cuando los trastornará en la noche, y serán quebrantados.
Therefore he knoweth their works, and he overturneth them in the night, so that they are destroyed.

für ihre Missetat schlägt er sie an einem Orte, / wo viele es sehen, /

weil sie von ihm gewichen sind / und aller seiner Wege nicht geachtet haben, /
Por cuanto así se apartaron de él, y no consideraron todos sus caminos;

indem er des Armen Geschrei vor sich kommen liess / und die Klage der Bedrückten erhörte. /

When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:
When he gives quietness, who then can condemn? When he hides his face, who then can see him? He is over a nation or a man alike,
dass nicht ein Ruchloser König sei, / einer von denen, die das Volk verderben. /
Haciendo que no reine el hombre hipócrita para vejaciones del pueblo.
That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.
that the godless man may not reign, that there be no one to ensnare the people.
Wenn er nun aber zu Gott sagt: / "Ich überhob mich, will nicht mehr schlecht handeln; / (1) d.i. der Sünder.
De seguro conviene se diga á Dios: Llevado he ya castigo, no más ofenderé:
Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend any more:
“For has any said to God, ‘I am guilty, but I will not offend any more.
ich sehe es ein, belehre du mich! / Wenn ich Unrecht getan - ich tu's nicht wieder", /
Enséñame tú lo que yo no veo: que si hice mal, no lo haré más.
That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more.
Teach me that which I don’t see. If I have done iniquity, I will do it no more’?
soll nach deinem Sinn er nun vergelten, / weil du es verwirfst? / denn du sollst entscheiden und nicht ich, / und was du weisst, das sage! /
¿Ha de ser eso según tu mente? El te retribuirá, ora rehuses, ora aceptes, y no yo: di si no, lo que tú sabes.
Should it be according to thy mind? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest.
Shall his recompense be as you desire, that you refuse it? For you must choose, and not I. Therefore speak what you know.
Verständige Leute werden mir sagen / und der weise Mann, der mir zuhört: /
Los hombres de seso dirán conmigo, y el hombre sabio me oirá:
Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken unto me.
Men of understanding will tell me, yes, every wise man who hears me:
"Hiob redet mit Unverstand, / und seine Worte sind ohne Bedacht. /
Que Job no habla con sabiduría, y que sus palabras no son con entendimiento.
Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom.
‘Job speaks without knowledge. His words are without wisdom.’
Ach, würde Hiob doch fort und fort geprüft, / weil er entgegnet nach der Art der Frevler. /
Deseo yo que Job sea probado ampliamente, á causa de sus respuestas por los hombres inicuos.
My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men.
I wish that Job were tried to the end, because of his answering like wicked men.
Denn Frevel fügt er noch zu seiner Sünde, / in unsrer Mitte höhnt er laut / und macht viel Redens wider Gott."
Porque á su pecado añadió impiedad: bate las manos entre nosotros, y contra Dios multiplica sus palabras.
