ADEMÁS respondió Eliú, y dijo:
Furthermore Elihu answered and said,
Moreover Elihu answered,
"Escuchen a mis palabras, ustedes hombres sabios; escúchenme, ustedes que tienen conocimiento.
Oid, sabios, mis palabras; y vosotros, doctos, estadme atentos.
Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.
“Hear my words, you wise men. Give ear to me, you who have knowledge.
Pues el oído trata palabras como el paladar prueba comida.
Porque el oído prueba las palabras, como el paladar gusta para comer.
For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat.
For the ear tries words, as the palate tastes food.
Escogeremos para nosotros mismos lo que es justo: descubramos entre nosotros mismos lo que es bueno.
Escojamos para nosotros el juicio, conozcamos entre nosotros cuál sea lo bueno:
Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good.
Let us choose for us that which is right. Let us know among ourselves what is good.
Pues Job ha dicho: 'Yo soy justo, pero Dios se ha llevado mis derechos.
Porque Job ha dicho: Yo soy justo, y Dios me ha quitado mi derecho.
For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment.
For Job has said, ‘I am righteous, God has taken away my right.
Independientemente de mis derechos, yo soy considerado un mentiroso. Mi herida es incurable, aunque yo estoy sin pecado.'
¿He de mentir yo contra mi razón? Mi saeta es gravosa sin haber yo prevaricado.
Should I lie against my right? my wound is incurable without transgression.
Notwithstanding my right I am considered a liar. My wound is incurable, though I am without disobedience.’
¿Cúal hombre es como Job, que bebe burla como agua,
¿Qué hombre hay como Job, que bebe el escarnio como agua?
What man is like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water?
What man is like Job, who drinks scorn like water,
que camina en la compañía de aquellos que hacen mal, y que camina con hombres malvados?
Y va en compañía con los que obran iniquidad, y anda con los hombres maliciosos.
Which goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.
who goes in company with the workers of iniquity, and walks with wicked men?
Pues él ha dicho: 'Es inútil para una persona tomar placer en hacer lo que Dios quiere.'
Porque ha dicho: De nada servirá al hombre el conformar su voluntad con Dios.
For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.
For he has said, ‘It profits a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.’
Así que escúchenme, ustedes hombres de entendimiento: lejos esté de Dios que Él haga maldad; lejos esté del Todopoderoso que Él cometa pecado.
Por tanto, varones de seso, oidme: Lejos esté de Dios la impiedad, y del Omnipotente la iniquidad.
Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.
“Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness, from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.
Pues él devuelve el trabajo de una persona; Él hace a cada hombre encontrar la recompensa de sus propios caminos.
Porque él pagará al hombre según su obra, y él le hará hallar conforme á su camino.
For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.
For the work of a man he will give to him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.
En efecto, Dios no hace nada malvado, y el Todopoderoso nunca pervierte la justicia.
Sí, por cierto, Dios no hará injusticia, y el Omnipotente no pervertirá el derecho.
Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.
Yes surely, God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert justice.
¿Quién lo puso a cargo sobre la tierra? ¿Quién puso el mundo entero bajo Él?
¿Quién visitó por él la tierra? ¿y quién puso en orden todo el mundo?
Who hath given him a charge over the earth? or who hath disposed the whole world?
Who put him in charge of the earth? Or who has appointed him over the whole world?
Si alguna vez Él estableció sus intenciones solamente en Él mismo, y si Él alguna vez juntó para sí mismo Su espíritu y Su aliento,
Si él pusiese sobre el hombre su corazón, y recogiese así su espíritu y su aliento,
If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath;
If he set his heart on himself, if he gathered to himself his spirit and his breath,
entonces toda carne perecería junta; la humanidad regresaría al polvo de nuevo.
Toda carne perecería juntamente, y el hombre se tornaría en polvo.
All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust.
all flesh would perish together, and man would turn again to dust.
Si ahora tú tienes entendimiento, escucha ésto; escucha el sonido de mis palabras.
Si pues hay en ti entendimiento, oye esto: escucha la voz de mis palabras.
If now thou hast understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words.
“If now you have understanding, hear this. Listen to the voice of my words.
¿Puede uno que odie justicia gobernar? ¿Tú condenarías a Dios, quien es justo y poderoso?
¿Enseñorearáse el que aborrece juicio? ¿y condenarás tú al que es tan justo?
Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just?
Should even one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn him who is righteous and mighty,
Dios, quien le dice a un rey: 'Tú eres vil', o dice a nobles: '¿Ustedes son malvados?'
¿Hase de decir al rey: Perverso; y á los príncipes: Impíos?
Is it fit to say to a king, Thou art wicked? and to princes, Ye are ungodly?
who says to a king, ‘Vile!’ or to nobles, ‘Wicked!’?
Dios, quien no muestra favoritismo a líderes y no reconoce a personas ricas más que a las pobres, pues todos ellos son el trabajo de sus manos.
¿Cuánto menos á aquel que no hace acepción de personas de príncipes, ni el rico es de él más respetado que el pobre? porque todos son obras de sus manos.
How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands.
He doesn’t respect the persons of princes, nor respect the rich more than the poor, for they all are the work of his hands.
En un momento ellos morirán; a medianoche las personas serán sacudidas y pasarán; personas poderosas serán llevadas lejos, pero no por manos humanas.
En un momento morirán, y á media noche se alborotarán los pueblos, y pasarán, y sin mano será quitado el poderoso.
In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.
In a moment they die, even at midnight. The people are shaken and pass away. The mighty are taken away without a hand.
Pues los ojos de Dios están sobre los caminos de una persona; Él ve todos sus pasos.
Porque sus ojos están sobre los caminos del hombre, y ve todos sus pasos.
For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.
“For his eyes are on the ways of a man. He sees all his goings.
No hay oscuridad, ni espesa penumbra donde los hacedores de iniquidad puedan esconderse a sí mismos.
No hay tinieblas ni sombra de muerte donde se encubran los que obran maldad.
There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
There is no darkness, nor thick gloom, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
Pues Dios no necesita examinar más a una persona; no hay necesidad para que cualquier persona tenga que ir delante de Él en juicio.
No carga pues él al hombre más de lo justo, para que vaya con Dios á juicio.
For he will not lay upon man more than right; that he should enter into judgment with God.
For he doesn’t need to consider a man further, that he should go before God in judgment.
Él quiebra a hombres poderosos en pedazos pues por sus caminos no se necesita más investigación; Él pone a otros en sus lugares.
El quebrantará á los fuertes sin pesquisa, y hará estar otros en su lugar.
He shall break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead.
He breaks mighty men in pieces in ways past finding out, and sets others in their place.
De esta manera Él tiene conocimineto de sus obras; Él derroca a estas personas en la noche; ellos son destruidos.
Por tanto él hará notorias las obras de ellos, cuando los trastornará en la noche, y serán quebrantados.
Therefore he knoweth their works, and he overturneth them in the night, so that they are destroyed.
Therefore he takes knowledge of their works. He overturns them in the night, so that they are destroyed.
A la vista de otros, Él los mata como criminales, por sus obras malvadas
Como á malos los herirá en lugar donde sean vistos:
He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others;
He strikes them as wicked men in the open sight of others;
porque ellos se alejaron de seguirle y se negaron a reconocer cualquiera de sus caminos.
Por cuanto así se apartaron de él, y no consideraron todos sus caminos;
Because they turned back from him, and would not consider any of his ways:
because they turned away from following him, and wouldn’t pay attention to any of his ways,
De esta manera, ellos hicieron que el llanto de personas pobres vinieran a Él; Él escuchó el llanto de personas afligidas.
Haciendo venir delante de él el clamor del pobre, y que oiga el clamor de los necesitados.
So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.
so that they caused the cry of the poor to come to him. He heard the cry of the afflicted.
Cuando Él se mantiene en silencio, ¿quién lo puede condenar? Si Él esconde su rostro, ¿quién puede percibirlo? Él gobierna sobre nación e individuo por igual,
Y si él diere reposo, ¿quién inquietará? si escondiere el rostro, ¿quién lo mirará? Esto sobre una nación, y lo mismo sobre un hombre;
When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:
When he gives quietness, who then can condemn? When he hides his face, who then can see him? He is over a nation or a man alike,
para que así un hombre impío no pueda gobernar, para que así no pueda haber ninguno que entrampe a las personas.
Haciendo que no reine el hombre hipócrita para vejaciones del pueblo.
That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.
that the godless man may not reign, that there be no one to ensnare the people.
Supongamos que alguien le dice a Dios: 'Yo soy ciertamente culpable, pero yo no pecaré más nunca,
De seguro conviene se diga á Dios: Llevado he ya castigo, no más ofenderé:
Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend any more:
“For has any said to God, ‘I am guilty, but I will not offend any more.
enséñame lo que no puedo ver; yo he cometido pecado, pero yo no lo haré más.'
Enséñame tú lo que yo no veo: que si hice mal, no lo haré más.
That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more.
Teach me that which I don’t see. If I have done iniquity, I will do it no more’?
¿Ustedes piensan que Dios castigará el pecado de esa persona, ya que a ustedes le desagrada lo que Dios hace? Ustedes deben escoger, no yo. Así que digan qué es lo que ustedes saben.
¿Ha de ser eso según tu mente? El te retribuirá, ora rehuses, ora aceptes, y no yo: di si no, lo que tú sabes.
Should it be according to thy mind? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest.
Shall his recompense be as you desire, that you refuse it? For you must choose, and not I. Therefore speak what you know.
Hombres de entendimiento me dirán, en efecto, cada hombre sabio que me escucha dirá:
Los hombres de seso dirán conmigo, y el hombre sabio me oirá:
Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken unto me.
Men of understanding will tell me, yes, every wise man who hears me:
'Job habla sin conocimiento; sus palabras son sin sabiduría.'
Que Job no habla con sabiduría, y que sus palabras no son con entendimiento.
Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom.
‘Job speaks without knowledge. His words are without wisdom.’
Si tan solo Job estuviera puesto en juicio en los más pequeños detalles de su caso a causa de su hablar como hombre malvado.
Deseo yo que Job sea probado ampliamente, á causa de sus respuestas por los hombres inicuos.
My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men.
I wish that Job were tried to the end, because of his answering like wicked men.
Pues él añade rebelión a su pecado; en medio nuestro él aplaude sus manos en burla; él amontona palabras contra Dios."
Porque á su pecado añadió impiedad: bate las manos entre nosotros, y contra Dios multiplica sus palabras.
For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands among us, and multiplieth his words against God.
For he adds rebellion to his sin. He claps his hands among us, and multiplies his words against God.”
