Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.
“However, Job, please hear my speech, and listen to all my words.
Mira ahora, yo he abierto mi boca; mi lengua ha hablado en mi boca.
He aquí yo abriré ahora mi boca, y mi lengua hablará en mi garganta.
Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.
See now, I have opened my mouth. My tongue has spoken in my mouth.
Mis palabras salen de la rectitud de mi corazón; mis labios hablan conocimiento puro.
Mis razones declararán la rectitud de mi corazón, y mis labios proferirán pura sabiduría.
My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.
My words will utter the uprightness of my heart. That which my lips know they will speak sincerely.
El Espíritu del Señor me ha hecho; el aliento del Todopoderoso me ha dado vida.
El espíritu de Dios me hizo, y la inspiración del Omnipotente me dió vida.
The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

Si tú puedes, contéstame; pon en orden tus palabras ante mí y párate.
Si pudieres, respóndeme; dispón tus palabras, está delante de mí.
If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.

Mira, yo soy igual que tú a la vista de Dios; yo también he sido formado del barro.
Heme aquí á mí en lugar de Dios, conforme á tu dicho: de lodo soy yo también formado.
Behold, I am according to thy wish in God’s stead: I also am formed out of the clay.
Behold, I am toward God even as you are. I am also formed out of the clay.
Mira, el terror de mí no te dará miedo; tampoco mi presión va a ser pesada sobre ti.
He aquí que mi terror no te espantará, ni mi mano se agravará sobre ti.
Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.
Behold, my terror will not make you afraid, neither will my pressure be heavy on you.
Tú ciertamente has hablado en mi escuchar; yo he escuchado el sonido de tus palabras diciendo:
De cierto tú dijiste á oídos míos, y yo oí la voz de tus palabras que decían:
Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,
“Surely you have spoken in my hearing, I have heard the voice of your words, saying,
'Yo soy limpio y sin transgresión; Yo soy inocente, y no hay pecado en mí.
Yo soy limpio y sin defecto; y soy inocente, y no hay maldad en mí.
I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.
‘I am clean, without disobedience. I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me.
Mira, Dios encuentra oportunidades para atacarme; Él me considera como su enemigo.
He aquí que él buscó achaques contra mí, y me tiene por su enemigo;
Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,
Behold, he finds occasions against me. He counts me for his enemy.
Él pone mis pies en trampas; Él vigila todos mis caminos.'
Puso mis pies en el cepo, y guardó todas mis sendas.
He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.
He puts my feet in the stocks. He marks all my paths.’
Mira, en esto tú no tienes la razón--Yo te voy a contestar, pues Dios es más grande que el hombre.
He aquí en esto no has hablado justamente: yo te responderé que mayor es Dios que el hombre.
Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.
“Behold, I will answer you. In this you are not just, for God is greater than man.
¿Por qué tú luchas contra Él? Él no rinde cuenta por cualquiera de sus acciones.
¿Por qué tomaste pleito contra él? Porque él no da cuenta de ninguna de sus razones.
Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.
Why do you strive against him, because he doesn’t give account of any of his matters?
Pues Dios habla una vez-- sí, dos, aunque el hombre no lo note.
Sin embargo, en una ó en dos maneras habla Dios; mas el hombre no entiende.
For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.
For God speaks once, yes twice, though man pays no attention.
En un sueño, en una visión de la noche, cuando el sueño profundo cae sobre los hombres, en el sueño en la cama--
Por sueño de visión nocturna, cuando el sueño cae sobre los hombres, cuando se adormecen sobre el lecho;
In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, in slumbering on the bed,
entonces Dios abre los oídos de los hombres, y los asusta con amenazas,
Entonces revela al oído de los hombres, y les señala su consejo;
Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,
then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction,
con el fin de sacar al hombre de sus propósitos pecaminosos, y mantener el orgullo lejos de él.
Para quitar al hombre de su obra, y apartar del varón la soberbia.
That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.

Dios mantiene la vida del hombre lejos del abismo, su vida de cruzar a la muerte.
Detendrá su alma de corrupción, y su vida de que pase á cuchillo.
He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.

El hombre es castigado también con dolor sobre su cama, con constante agonía en sus huesos,
También sobre su cama es castigado con dolor fuerte en todos sus huesos,
He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:
“He is chastened also with pain on his bed, with continual strife in his bones,
para que su vida aborrezca la comida, y su alma aborrezca las delicias.
Que le hace que su vida aborrezca el pan, y su alma la comida suave.
So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.
so that his life abhors bread, and his soul dainty food.
Su carne es consumida para que no pueda ser vista; sus huesos, que no se veían, ahora sobresalen.
Su carne desfallece sin verse, y sus huesos, que antes no se veían, aparecen.
His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out.

Ciertamente, su alma se acerca al abismo, su vida hacia aquellos quienes desean destruirla.
Y su alma se acerca al sepulcro, y su vida á los que causan la muerte.
Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.
Yes, his soul draws near to the pit, and his life to the destroyers.
Pero si hay un ángel quien pueda ser un mediador para él, un mediador, uno de entre los miles de ángeles, para demostrarle a él lo que es correcto hacer,
Si tuviera cerca de él algún elocuente anunciador muy escogido, que anuncie al hombre su deber;
If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:
“If there is beside him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him,
y si el ángel es amable con él y le dice a Dios: 'Salva a esta persona de caerse al abismo; yo he encontrado un rescate para él,'
Que le diga que Dios tuvo de él misericordia, que lo libró de descender al sepulcro, que halló redención:
Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.
then God is gracious to him, and says, ‘Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.’
entonces su carne va a convertirse más fresca que la de un niño; él volverá a los días de la fuerza de su juventud.
Enterneceráse su carne más que de niño, volverá á los días de su mocedad.
His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s: he shall return to the days of his youth:
His flesh will be fresher than a child’s. He returns to the days of his youth.
Él va a orarle a Dios, y Dios será amable con él, para que él vea la cara de Dios con gozo. Dios le dará a la persona su triunfo.
Orará á Dios, y le amará, y verá su faz con júbilo: y él restituirá al hombre su justicia.
He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.
He prays to God, and he is favorable to him, so that he sees his face with joy. He restores to man his righteousness.
Luego esa persona cantará frente a otras personas y dirá: 'Yo pequé y pervertí eso que era correcto, pero mi pecado no fue castigado.
El mira sobre los hombres; y el que dijere: Pequé, y pervertí lo recto, y no me ha aprovechado;
He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;
He sings before men, and says, ‘I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it didn’t profit me.
Dios ha rescatado mi alma de irse por el abismo; mi vida seguirá viendo la luz.'
Dios redimirá su alma, que no pase al sepulcro, y su vida se verá en luz.
He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.
He has redeemed my soul from going into the pit. My life will see the light.’
Mira, Dios hace todas estas cosas con una persona, dos, sí, incluso tres veces,
He aquí, todas estas cosas hace Dios dos y tres veces con el hombre;
Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,
“Behold, God does all these things, twice, yes three times, with a man,
para traer de regreso su alma del abismo, para que él pueda ser iluminado con la luz de vida.
Para apartar su alma del sepulcro, y para iluminarlo con la luz de los vivientes.
To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.
to bring back his soul from the pit, that he may be enlightened with the light of the living.
Presta atención, Job, y escúchame a mí; guarda silencio y yo hablaré.
Escucha, Job, y óyeme; calla, y yo hablaré.
Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak.
Mark well, Job, and listen to me. Hold your peace, and I will speak.
Si tienes algo que decir, contéstame; habla, pues yo deseo probar que tú estás en lo correcto.
Que si tuvieres razones, respóndeme: habla, porque yo te quiero justificar.
If thou hast any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.
If you have anything to say, answer me. Speak, for I desire to justify you.
Si no, entonces escúchame a mí; permanece en silencio, y yo te enseñaré sabiduría."
Y si no, óyeme tú á mí; calla, y enseñarte he sabiduría.
If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.
If not, listen to me. Hold your peace, and I will teach you wisdom.”
