A chi vuoi tu dar soccorso? forse ad uno che sia spossato? e vuoi tu sostentar le braccia di un che forza non abbia?
¿En qué ayudaste al que no tiene fuerza? ¿has amparado al brazo sin fortaleza?
How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength?
“How have you helped him who is without power! How have you saved the arm that has no strength!
A chi dai tu consiglio? forse a colui che saggezza non ha? ed hai fatto mostra della moltissima tua prudenza?
¿En qué aconsejaste al que no tiene ciencia, y mostraste bien sabiduría?
How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?
How have you counseled him who has no wisdom, and plentifully declared sound knowledge!
A chi volevi tu insegnare, se non a lui che fece gli spiriti?
¿A quién has anunciado palabras, y cúyo es el espíritu que de ti sale?
To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?
To whom have you uttered words? Whose spirit came out of you?
Ecco che i giganti gemono sotto le acque insieme cogli altri, che in esso dimorano.
Cosas inanimadas son formadas debajo de las aguas, y los habitantes de ellas.
Dead things are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof.

Ecco che si è rammentata una parte delle opere di lui: che se quello, che abbiamo udito o una piccola stilla rispetto a quel che può dirsi, chi potrà reggere al tuono di sua grandezza? Persiste nella sua giustificazione, rigetta la calunnia degli amici; egli ha serbata l'innocenza, perche gli empj dopo la breve felicità di questa vita sono strascinati da Dio ai supplizj.
He aquí, estas son partes de sus caminos: ¡mas cuán poco hemos oído de él! Porque el estruendo de sus fortalezas, ¿quién lo detendrá?
Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?
Behold, these are but the outskirts of his ways. How small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand?”
