1Then Baldad the Sauchite answered and said,

2What In the New Testament paroimia is almost always translated proverb, but in Joh 10:6 it is rendered parable, which seems to be the sense intended here; Probably prooimion is a mistake of the transcriber beginning or fear is his—even he that makes all things in the highest?

3For let none think that there is a respite for robbers: and upon whom will there not come a snare from him?

4For how shall a mortal be just before the Lord? or who that is born of a woman shall purify himself?

5If he gives an order to the moon, then it shines not; and the stars are not pure before him.

6But alas! man is corruption, and the son of man a worm.

2El señorío y el temor están con él: él hace paz en sus alturas.

3¿Tienen sus ejércitos número? ¿y sobre quién no está su luz?

4¿Cómo pues se justificará el hombre con Dios? ¿y cómo será limpio el que nace de mujer?

5He aquí que ni aun la misma luna será resplandeciente, ni las estrellas son limpias delante de sus ojos:

6¿Cuánto menos el hombre que es un gusano, y el hijo de hombre, también gusano?

1Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

2Dominion and fear are with him, he maketh peace in his high places.

3Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom doth not his light arise?

4How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

5Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight.

6How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?

3Can his armies be counted? On whom does his light not arise?

4How then can man be just with God? Or how can he who is born of a woman be clean?

5Behold, even the moon has no brightness, and the stars are not pure in his sight;

6How much less man, who is a worm, and the son of man, who is a worm!”
